Nice young professor. It was his first time teaching, so he had a hard time keeping the class of about 65 students quiet and under control. However, he obviously loves science and was a happy teacher. Easy grader.

Given that Diehl is a new teacher, you have to give him some leeway when rating his performance as a teacher. However, as of now he is still trying to get a feel for his lectures and the classroom. In my opinion, the class is too short for the amount of information we must know (not that this is his fault). Tests are difficult.

He goes over the tests too and throws out questions if you have a good reason. Hes an extremely nice guy and takes the time to consider and answer questions. Overall I'm extremely glad that I took him.

This was his first semester teaching this course. The tests/quizzes are created by a different professor, which can be tricky, but Bro. Diehl wants to help you learn. Lots of the students stopped attending lectures, which, I believe, hurt them when it came to the quizzes and tests. Attending lecture is absolutely worthwhile.

Honestly at first it was hard to get adjusted to college life + learning although many don't think he does a good job i think he does, because he goes slow and tries to answer many questions we have plus we have online practice questions in class so we can review. I would highly recommend brother Diehl. He is overall a very good teacher. He is good at explaining and tries to apply what we've learned by showing videos of experiments and such. Bio 265 will always be a hard class despite the professor. Brother Diehl is a solid teacher. I personally don't attend lectures very often and instead get tutoring and did alright. He cares, he's fair, he wants you to succeed. He emailed me when I was struggling to make sure I was Ok.

He is very good at explaining the concepts. Sometimes he goes a little fast and it can be hard to write down notes. However, if you just pay attention in class you will do fine.

One thing that I like that Diehl does is he doesn't get behind schedule, and most of the time he even gets in an extra day for review before the test. He is also gives little hints about what to expect on the tests. One thing that he could do better at would be doing more application case studies, involving the subject that will be tested on.

Easier than 264 but you still have to put in a lot of time and effort. He is very clear during lectures and will walk you through each mechanism. He will give you opportunities to review before test as a group with him and it is easy to contact him. Would definitely take his classes.

Ive taken three classes from brother Diehl now (BIO180, 264, 265). He's definitely the best of all the 377 teachers. Gives very good feedback on papers and will practice during class with students on how to write the papers. He has helpful study guides for every test. Attendance is mandatory b/c you work w/ a partner. Grading criterium is very clear. Do well on papers and tests and you can get an A. Not an easy A.

Brother Diehl is great. Bio 180 is no cake-walk, but he bends over backwards so each student has the opportunity to achieve. Brother Diehl has been my favorite professor at BYUI so far. Bio 180 was a difficult class, but he gives you all the tools needed to succeed. Come to class, use the study guide, go to his after class study sessions, and study an hour a day on your own. Brother Diehl is a great teacher but BIO 410 is a hard class. He does a fantastic job of simplifying the textbook which can be daunting especially with VDJ recombination but if you go to class and earnestly pay attention and ask questions then you'll do well.

Through techniques like teaching others the material learned in lectures and numerous studying materials and sessions available, he really makes it hard not to succeed. Diehl kept my attention over a 1.5 hour class, which was the most important thing for me. I would've enjoyed it if I got into a MWF class, meeting more often. Come prepared to class with questions so that you can get the most out of class. He makes really hard classes much more bearable. If you have to take one of the classes he teaches, TAKE IT FROM HIM.

Brother Diehl is phenomenal. I was worried about this class but he made the content easy to understand. He loves his students and is very knowledgeable about the material. He's also so funny and charismatic! He gives you opportunities for study sessions and extra credit. He is a blessing, take 265 from him!!!

If you have to take a bio class, take it from Diehl! He is passionate about the material & will make it so much easier to understand. He truly cares about all his students. There are multiple opportunities for study sessions and meeting with him/TAs/tutors. Read the textbook and ask questions!

Brother Diehl is a such a profound teacher. Always willing to help students out with extra help if needed and holds extra hours to get one on one help. I would not have done so well in this class if it wasn't for the way he taught the class. He is so focused on the students success, so attend class and use your resources!

Diehl is awesome! This class conceptually tough, but he is so willing to meet/work with you. He provides many extra credit/redo options, so if tests don't go well, just do a bit of work and you absolutely get an A in the class! You do read from the textbook, but he has a questionnaire for each lesson/test; you can ask him any questions anonymously!

Brother Diehl is the GOAT! Get to know him, and do your part in learning. He will help you succeed and will not leave you in the dark. He has shown me how deeply he cares about his students and biology. If he doesn't know something, he will not try to make anything up. I have always respected Brother Diehl, and will recommend everyone to him!

He is a great professor! Very knowledgeable in all the areas he taught about. This class is very tough however, so attendance is super important, as well as study time outside of class.

There are questions(quiz) at the beginning of class (goes toward your grade), if you read before class you will be fine. These questions help you prepare for the exams. Highly recommended
