Your own your own with this one. Do you think you can handle it?
This women teaches on assumptions. Worst prof ever.
sweetest person alive. I love her. But she's a sloppy teacher.

good person, insightful/eccentric, nice to spk to, one of the finer profs.
if u don't want to know about her life, don't go to class
I don't know what's w/ the comments-pay atten./work!! in class you'll do fine
i'd rather her be my psychologist than prof.. class= waste of time
can't teach, condescending, - not enough space here to place all complaints
this course is very heavy. we covered almost 25 chapters
to much stuff to remember and seems very annoyed with every thing

Good person, covers material, her class is not an easy A.
terrible lectures....no answers 2 problems...take only if u can learn on ur own!
nice lady, BAD prof! will ruin a good course!
Nice lady but terrible teacher! She cannot teach! What good is that?
How can you listen and do work when the teacher doesn't even know what she's doing?

an embarrassment to ryerson and the teaching community at whole. this is stated with NO exageration. unfortunately if you've taken her course, you've wasted $. look into other est that offer transferable comparisons for pers.fin. you're being forwarned!
C. Clark appears not to hold herself personably accountable to the development of her students. Her policy with respect to student inquiry or discourse is if I happen to be in my office, I'll see you . She acks the excitement that good profs radiate with
one of the worst profs ever
Very nice person. Usually available for extra help - the best time to learn anything. Do your homework and then go see her. In class lectures are not very productive. Most classes are haphazard and a waste of time to attend.

Makes no sense...She needs to join Joe Carter in Left Field...and now in retirement. An embarassment not only to Ryerson, but to University...when will the "Big People" realize that these teachers are liabilities?????
horrible
she is the very good profesor, who spk sometimes student about her funny life. Shool is partof her life. Everybody like to tolk at work. only ASh can see that as wrong. very , very easy marker, if you listen her lecture you know exacly what on the test.
Pretty funny. U do learn a lot if u listen to her.
TERRIBLE! Her lectures and handouts are full of mistakes. She is not compotent to teach. Totally Don't waste your money. Its a shame Ryerson has people like her. She is totally unclear, jumps all over the place, and makes her own mistakes seem like a joke (and they do occur constantly).
she has got to be by far the worst prof in the history of ryerson. She is extremely unprofessional and is constantly complaining about how hard her job is. Well Clark, you're a prof. if you can't take the heat get out.

A message to colleen: Please stop telling us your boring stories in class! and please retire!!
This course would be useful if the Prof actually taught it properly. Her lectures, her tests and her personality is full of mistakes. Her examples in class are a way for her to share her life stories and not to educate. *HINT* Stay at home and read the textbook. U'll learn more without the BULL****
Need a roadmap to follow her lectures, because she goes off on so many tangents. Thankfully the book was a fairly easy read. If it wasn't for the easy open book quizzes every week there would be zero incentive to go to class. Not hard, but don't expect to learn anything either. "Fred's a Kid"!
Majority of comments seem to be bad and I must agree with the fact that she does jump all over the place.U understand better by reading the chapter before class and then you would understand. Easy tests AS LONG AS YOU DO THE HOMEWORK AHEAD OF TIME, and predictable. Funny lady and I enjoyed class
Give her a break! She puts a lot of effort into her lecture. She doesn't deny her mistakes. Best FIN prof so far. Read chapters before going to class to better understand lecture. She's very good at taking up questions. Overall great FIN prof.
She is the worst finance prof I've ever seen, I've got A+ in all my other finance courses because other prof give solution to the exercise and teach probably, But with her, it just a waste of time, and she will not give the solution to the exercise on the book she wrote which is full of mistakes.
She should not have wrote a book that is full of mistakes I am just thankful that I will be getting $20 back after buying mistake book.
This woman calls herself a professor when she has her own students emailing her to point out all the errors in her book. Save yourself the hassle and money, and don't take any of her classes. You'll be glad you didn't!
Don't bother taking this course, rude, unapproachable, says she's helpful but really not, not sure what to expect from her, jumps from thought to thought when talking, clearly bad.

Collen is helpful if you approach her in her office hours. She gives u tips. But, she seems to be confused during the lecture classes, and the course is tough.

Clark overall is a good professor and very understanding. I have learned so much in her class about insurance. She uses life stories in her explanations which at times are funny. However, I found her tests a bit confusing. I enjoyed her class :D
She was okay, but the class was too chatty most the time and that pissed her off in the end. Who can blame her I guess...Didn't really teach, but the handouts are useful. Doesn't explain clearly and not very approachable.
On the rare times she follows the material she does show an understanding of it. She just spends too much time talking about absolutely nothing with her stories. I felt this class was a waste of time.
Well at least she tells the truth...she told us that the exam was going to punish us and it did! The entire exam was multiple choice execpt for one question on cash flow statements worth 25% which was not even discussed in class during the whole semester. The exam was not reflective of the course learnings. Overall good course but an unfair exam.
This woman is a pure **** - She yells at ppl for no reason and when i ask her what's on the exam, she replies in three words "All of it" - her stories are useless she doesn't even teach or know how to teach, better off reading the book. She gives no advice and treats students like**** - makes comments on stupid questions. WORST PROF EVER!!!!!!
She practically gives you the answers in her lecture notes..you just gotta read it and apply it. She's not a bad teacher, but rambles on too much.
she makes lots of mistakes, she talks about people in bad. she is unorganized, I wish they change her to better and understandable instructor
Something is certainly wrong with her. She will be fine one moment and than will scream out and start attacking someone in the back of the room. Threatened a girl who moved a sheet of paper and a guy for looking at his water bottle. Midterms were tough, final was hard, but got lucky on her big question. Managed an A- which was surprising.
queen b*itch ... god does she even kno what she's doingg ... AHHHHH .. the stupidest, most idiotic professor to have ever attempted (ATTEMPTED) to teach a course anywhere in the world. RUINED MY GPA WOMAN
Boy, not an easy prof - you'll pass but not the mark you expect, once she starts ringing the bell, you better watch out, the course in general is easy but her tests are tricky and you better explain yourself well to win, also the nicer the class is, the easier she will mark
She's one of the worst prof. She doesn't teach at all. Tests are tricky but the final exam is fair. The worst thing is when she repeats some questions from her quizzes, her answers are "inconsistent". The answers that she marked correct on her quizzes, she marked them wrong on the tests. Try to avoid her if you do not have to take her for CFP.
freaks out for nothing. Easy assignment, werid tests and final. Expect anything for the final
not easy, not hard. just study & it'll be ok. she's very intelligent, knows her stuff, willing to share experiences. test formats are like the cfp tests to prepare u, which is, i think, very helpful! great prof! would want her again!

This class is completly useless. Besides, Clark is a bad teacher. I did not get anything good from her...what a waste of time.
OUCH! Take this only if you must. Despite being knowledeable, she isn't a great teacher, and the course should be called 'Insurance with a paragraph of risk managment' - do not take unless CMP requirement or you love Insurance. No relationship between knowledge, understanding, effort, time (etc)... and grade. A bit of a dictator.
Got an A and And A+ respectively in FIN502 and FIN512. Do your work and your marks will fly. Its better to train with a demanding professor than a light-weight as it prepares you for the real world. If you cant deal with C.Clark, good luck in Business!
her book is good and i love this course. issue: TOO MANY MISTAKES IN THE BOOK!!! its so annoying. the book covers everything and answers are provided to check your figures. again the book is good if it had no mistakes. her teaching needs to be more organized and she should try not to tell stories that are unrelated to anything in the course.
C.Clark is the meanest professor I have ever encounter in my whole entire life. She is so rude to you when you try to ask her questions in class, she can't teach&can't explain herself properly at all.She would yell at people&embarass them in class for no good reason, for small things like opening ur backpack that makes a bit of noise.AVOID HER!
Anyone that found this course useful is completely biased. Clark is poorly organized and shows little respect for her classroom and, which is ridiculous bc most of the time is spent trying to figure out what she just explained! Her textbook is a fine example of her 'quality' teaching...errors galore, don't understand how they ever let it hit print!
If you're one of those students that learns on your own, relies on textbook and exercises solutions, this is not the class. Coz there's no solutions for the exercises in the book! and only half the time you're given the final answer.
This is a course that will advance your life. The other responses on this show that people in university should be in college, etc. Do your work and you will do fine. I got an A+ in several of her courses
Worst one.But she is the only one teaching this course.Don't know how to teach;screaming at some poor students;telling stories not relating to course, etc. Avoid her course,if you can. However, the textbook is very useful.First time I graded professor so badly.

Really Boring!!!
One of the worst profs ive had. Her tests are extremely tricky and dont reflect your understanding of risk management and insurance, only how well you can memorize the book.
Her tests are tough-but if you pay attention and read every detail, you'll do fine. Students who mouth off are treated accordingly-with the same respect that they give her.
OK don't take her! having a class average in the 50's tells you there's something wrong with HER NOT THE CLASS! I encourage students to go complain...remember she's in school getting paid cuz of the tuition YOU pay
She is the worst teacher i have ever seen. DONT TAKE HER! drop her like a hot cake... SHE IS REALLY REALLY BAAD and lost MEMORY!!
Don't take with her!!!!, her tests are so hard and she doesn't teach.
the worst prof i have come across. her exams are too tough
I don't know why ryerson still keeping her around?! she is the worst, always talking about stuff that is not related to the course and she cant teach, her exams are mean just like her. she is very rude to people.Do yourself a favor and AVOID HER
Didnt do much work and got a B+. Just follow her agenda and youll be fine.
Took this course last semester (fall). Tests are based on memorization. I studied 2 days prior to each exam and did well. She is a fair marker.
NOT a good prof at all. She is very rude and isn't helpfull at all. She thinks the world owes her something and she takes it out on her students. She thinks this course is the most important thing in the world and her exam questions and could be intrepreted in many different way, but her interpretation is obviously right and the students are wrong.
She's so mean. Her tests are extremely hard. Making lots of mistakes in her textbook. AVOID her!
awful professor. will not teach anything. refuses to do any work or prepare any lessons. no structure to the course. really annoying.
clark can't teach, and she's seems to showing signs of dementia. but, she doesn't need to teach, because if you do read the text and do the homework, you'll be fine. seems like half of the class breezes, and the other half fails miserably. clark's tests have for 612 are quite easy--much easier than her 502 tests. perhaps she has gotten soft?
Took her class for 612/502 and felt that she was an excellent mentor/professor. She knows her stuff inside out. All other posts were made by those who are either illiterate or simply slackers. Good luck keeping a 9 - 5 job.
the course is not hard and she knows how to teach but she makes the midterms and exam HARD for no reason. I think its because she's old and lonely and needs to get laid.
Unnecessarily hard, unable to admit mistakes, incredibly bitter. Tests don't reflect learning ability, only how well you can pick up on ways she trys to trick you out of marks. Don't take any class with her if you don't have to.
She purposely tries to trick you in midterms. Multiple choice was extremely difficult but I aced the short answers, it didn't matter though b/c I still failed. This was my 4th upper-year finance class, course is easy but her method of teaching is poor.. her stories are funny though. Textbook was full of mistakes which made it difficult to study
Really nice lady. Keeps lectures nice and short. Pretty funny too. Talks a lot about her personal life, but it's entertaining. All of her test questions come STRAIGHT from her text. Read it, and learn it and you should do fine.
Very arrogant!!!! Hates students. Does not teach... Avoid!!!
By far the worst prof I've had at Ryerson. Some profs teach well but make tests/mid terms hard; Some profs don't teach and make mid terms easy; She doesn't teach, won't admit mistakes and purposely tries to confuse in FIN 502. I also had her for FIN512 which was more bareable since it was mainly open book.
awfull!!! not recommended. lectures are useless, tests are really hard, and project is really long, tedious and full of mistakes and is a really hard market!! the text book is full of mistakes, every word, number and forumula is a mistake. too bad she is the only prof teach Fin612 at Ryerson.
The book was full of mistake but some of the mistake was not her fault. The reason she doesn't do review because she wants you to learn everything from the book. Her exam is not difficult as long as you read the book. She is not that bad.
Possibly the worse professor in the TRSM. Has no respect for the students and has terrible teaching methods. This professor cares more about the presentation of the work rather than the quality of the work! Avoid at all costs.
Brutal class, I would HIGHLY recommend taking something else. This class was a freakin' NIGHTMARE. Project was just stupidly hard and complicated. Mid terms were pretty hard. Worked harder in this class than any other class and I got a crappy mark.
Terrible Professor. Unclear, confusing, and she wrote the textbook. The textbook is full of mistakes and errors, not worth the $60. If you are pursuing a CFP, goodluck, and watch your GPA fall.
SHE SUCKS! Everything she does, her lectures are useless! Her Exams are ridiculous! She doesn't believe in part marks and she cares more about the format of your answer rather than your answer it self! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! This course is suppose to be a breeze but her old wrinkly ass decides to make it impossible to get a good grade in her class :@
Why does she teach? She just reads off from the text book..no point of going to class
Course was fairly easy, I had the highest mark in the course. Unfortunately, many students who take this course don't have the caliber of knowledge required to do well in the course. She's nice to speak to and she's very helpful on the project. Attendance isn't mandatory, self study is sufficient. Make sure to pick good group members.
Even though she may be a boring lecturer, she is fair and gives lots of hints throughout her lectures so students can do well. She is very helpful if you actually ask for help. She is passionate about the material she teaches.
fact 1, 200 people in class at the beginning, 63 after first mid term, didn't disclose class average. At exam today, 43 people left in class, student threw exam paper at prof at the 2 hour mark saying its way to hard compared to mid term. she said focus on material not on previous test, almost all exam material was previous test. GPA KILLER course!
Probably the worst professor you'll ever encounter. No matter how hard you study, midterms and finals are made to fail students . Tell me, would you want a professor who made a final exam where students threw the exam at the professor and left because exam content was made for Ph.D students?...SAVE YOUR GPA!
Pro: No one failed the course. Cons: You projects will be marked randomly. Your effort and contents of your projects don't matter. Projects with 50+ pages will get A, 40+ pages B+, 30+ pages will get B. Just bs to get enough pages, you will be fine.
EASY EXAMS... PPL WHO COMPLAIN ARE THE LAZY ONES THAT DONT STUDY
questions on the midterm were not similar to the questions at all in the textbook. I studied for 2 weeks, and I had no idea how to do the questions on the midterm.
not nice professor, rambles on, is rude to students when they try to particpate. Thinks that we all want to become personal financial planners!! not true
Im using her textbook for an insurance and risk management class and her way of approaching examples is terrible. She needs someone to write the book for her because its unorganized.
