He had just started teaching at KUC when I got him as a prof. Whilst I failed (due to learning disability) I still found him to be one of the best math prof's I've ever had. Gives handouts with sBs guides. Very nice, clear, and helpful.

Great teacher.

New to Richmond, and the BEST math prof Ive had since high school. He makes things very clear with funky colourful handouts that show you step by step how to understand and do well in the class. Great teacher and I hope to have him again next semester.

He is a really good teacher; I have a lot of respect for the guy.

I have alot of respect for him because he is the great math teacher. His way of teaching is so simple and easy to understand.I would prefer to take his class whenever you guys need to take math course.

He is the best math teacher i've ever had. Very fair marker,test material is only on what we have gone over in class.Always there to help you and gives half marks for every question. He uses fill in the blank sheets of all colours to take notes.Take him!

he's got fill in the blank notes on coloured sheets which is cool, but his tests are unimaginably hard, his notes don't compare to the hardness of his homework, and his homework doesn't compare to his tests. If you take Colin, I hope ur good @ math

first time i took stats i failed with him im doing much better :). if you honestly study his notes and attend class you will get an A for sure. his notes and HW pertain exactly to his tests for sure the best math prof ever.

i never got math until him. then once i finally understood and went on to the next level of math i was lost again (without him) they need to make a pocket sized Colin to take with you throughout your math education and career.

Best math teacher at Kwantlen PERIOD. I am just average at math but I am getting an A- in this class. If you do problems from book, you will get no less than a B-. An excellent teacher who is nice and funny. If you are taking ANY math, Colin is the way to go.

Perhaps the best prof, in math terms. He gives notes by giving handouts, and this is good because everything you'll ever need to know and study from is all in his notes. Before each midterm he hands out a huge review sheet telling you exactly what is to expected on the subsequent midterm.

Incredible math teacher. I am hopeless at calculus without him, but through his incredibly clear teaching methods, managed a very decent mark. Finally, a math teacher who is not only passionate about math, but about teaching as well, and gifted with the ability to actually impart his knowledge to others.

He's awesome, so awesome I took an extra math class just so he could teach me! It's not easy; you do have to do your hw and assignments, attend, and ask questions. Goes slow and teaches the origin of the formula and not jsut how to use it. BEST TEACHER I ever WILL have! I have no more math to take- sadly.

Colin is a great teacher who cares about his students. Very helpful and exams aren't hard! Nothing hard pops up on his exams because he prepares his students for whats ahead. I'm not doing too bad in this class but thats only because I haven't tried too hard! If you do all his review and understand the questions you'll easily get a good mark.

Colin is a great teacher! He explains everything clearly and goes step by step. His notes are helpful and his tests are fair. And he's always there for his students if anyone has questions.

He's easy going but that doesn't mean he is an "easy marker." He's very fussy about "showing your work." His half-done fill-in-the blank handouts make taking note easier for you. Compared to some of the other math instructors, he's one of the better ones to choose from.

Colin's the best math teacher ive had. He tests exactly wut he talks bout in class and notes and the assignments. Besides, i find his exams easier than his assignments. Explains stuffs well and also take advantage of his office hours. It's very helpful........Ended up with an A- for this course.

Colin is great! Definitely looking forward to taking another class with him. He's an amazing math teacher who can make the most complicated calculus questions seem easy. Midterms and finals were very fair, but attendance is a must! And make sure that you do all the questions he's assigned because that is EXACTLY whats on the tests =)

dont take his class..... so there is room for me to take it. by far the BEST teacher i've had so far. planning to take all my math classes with him as he is the only teacher who teaches my math courses. very nice, will help out with everything.

Great teacher!! very helpful. As long as you keep up with the class work and ask for help when you need it most then his midterms will be easy. The final is hard but it's a given. If you do well on the midterms, it'll average out. Will definitely take him again.

extremely helpful! has lots of office hours and is very willing to help you with anything. makes notes for you and i found these to be very helpful. gives you three midterms AND a final!!! would definitely take another class with him again!

Very helpful guy and his notes are great but can go a bit fast at times. Midterms were of average difficulty but the final was extremely hard! Most questions were harder than the hardest questions in the text. I literally studied for 15 hours and still did poorly. The two sample finals were cake compared to his.

He is very clear. He makes calculus seem so easy. His tests are not hard but you MUST do all the homework in order to do well. The test questions are the same type of questions as the homework. He is very approachable and doesn't make you feel stupid. As long as you show interest in learning, he is more than happy to help. I highly recommend him!

He is awesome. I really enjoyed his classes. The best part about him is that he goes to the learning center to help you out if you need it. He writes his exams so there is never a surprise on the test. My advice: must know your trig!

Great professor, took a course that is supposed to be harder then the one I needed but I still managed to get an A in the class would recommend him to anyone that is willing to learn and show up to each class.

He's everything I could have wanted in a math teacher: clear explanations with intuitively appealing examples, reasonable and clear expectations, fair exams and assignments, helpfulness outside of class, and a passion for the material.

Best Math teacher i've had at Kwantlen so far. If you put in the time and effort ask questions and addend class you will easily pass his class. He is pretty tough but very helpful and pretty funny once you get to know him. Highly recommended!

Excellent math professor! You can tell he is so passionate about teaching math and wants his students to do well. As long as you do your homework and show up to class, he tells you exactly what is on his exams. He wants you to do the questions the way he teaches since it always works. Show up to class and you'll get a great mark. Best prof!

He's a fair professor but you do need to study in his class. His tests can be tough but marking is fair; again you do need to STUDY VERY HARD in his class or AN F is not avoidable.

Gave out print out notes to fill in, i would best math prof at kwantlen, put the effort in and you will be rewarded with an A, the test were easy, just do homework assigned for that lecture, i got behind on the homework and still managed to get a A. I would recommend this prof to anyone, he makes u want to switch programs and do a major in math

Is an adequate professor who has quite difficult tests. Personally, for a few I did all of the math textbook questions, review questions, extra work, and still barely passed. My peers did about the same the average for his exams were around the low 60's. In My opinion, I believe success in his course relies too heavily on getting help out of class.

Not sure where all of these negative reviews are coming from. Gives good notes, goes over many examples for each topic, easily accessible outside class time and tells you exactly what he expects on the tests. Only negative point is that if answer is reached in a way that doesn't directly follow how he taught the material, points are docked.

All you have to do is show up and pay attention. He breaks things down very simply and has clear methods of doing things. Just a really good teacher and a nice guy. He gives you notes every class, textbook is only used for homework.

Colin has been my favorite teacher I've had. His lectures and notes are amazing, they teach you and allow you to understand the concepts in a simple manner. If you spend 4h a week doing all the homework and a bit more for review you will see great success. Extremely kind guy and always wants to help so go see him in his office hours. 10/10 teacher

His lectures are very easy to follow, had lots of examples, and answered the questions i had. He gives you optional tb questions but you MUST do them to pass the class. I did every question and the ones i didnt understand i went to his office hours so he could explain them. I was never good at math but i ended up with an A! I LOVE HIM!

his way of teaching is amazing. he gave good examples to memorize the concepts. on midterms. he tests you on everything that he talk about in class. he is nice and hilarious.

FANTASTIC! Take calculus with Colin if you're not good at math. He goes very slow, notes are clear, and I found him helpful. When I asked him questions he was always clear in his answers. Exams are super easy! Didn't need a tutor or anything!!!

AMAZING. Colin is the ideal prof for calc. I had him for both Calc I and II and he is amazing!! Answers questions clearly, explain concepts in ways everyone can understand.

Colin's a great prof and is always willing to help. He prints partially completed notes for every class and all the concepts are broken down thoroughly. The course is dense however and requires a lot of work outside of class. His midterms and final were challenging so make sure you understand everything thoroughly.

Colin is one of the best Math instructors I have ever worked with. His notes are amazing, and he explains the concepts very well. His notes are clear, and they highlight all the common mistakes that students may make during the course. You are expected to work hard in this course if you want to pass or end up with a good grade. Colin is the best and easiest math prof i've ever seen. His midterms and final is very easy and he gives you hints in class on what he expects you to know. His notes are very straight forward and cover everything very well. I passed this course by just attending class regularly.

As long as you show up to class and do the practice questions he assigns, you're good. He gave us 3 midterms, all of which which were based on the notes done in class. One or two questions would be more on the tougher side but other than that, his midterms are relatively fair. You have to put in a little work for an A but that's expected.

Great prof. His lectures are amazing and explain material in ways that are easy to understand and remember. Notes are clear and very useful. Attend the lectures, do the "optional" homework until you're comfortable, make good formula sheets and you should get a good grade.

Had this guy during covid. A solid prof, very clear. This was my second time doing calc (did in HS), but my mark dropped a bit in his class. I had to work extra hard in this class to get a good grade compared to other classes. Do homework, redo q's in the notes for practice. 3 midterms your final mark. Beware - he makes you do many extra steps.

This professor's lectures are super clear. he explains from basic so that you can resume from where you left. watch videos and do assigned question and you will score well. there was no final exam only three mid terms and u r done. if u will work well u will receive good grades. looks tough but he is good.

Great class because you graded based on only 3 midterms, so no quizzes or assignments. Downside, he wants you to solve things exactly how he does it. Unfortunately, he doesn't always explain it thoroughly (will skip some steps) and when you go to do the homework, the textbook will do it differently. Solid choice though. Would take again.

Good professor. Straightforward, vocal on expectations, and explains deeply on each topic. Even with my little memory left of pre calculus, just by listening and doing about 2/3 of what he asks and you'll probably do fine, and if you want to excel, he provides a good structure on what you should do as a student. Would take this prof again.

I would definitely recommend him if you are willing to put in the work. He gives you a list of assigned textbook problems for each chapter, do those and you'll score high on the exams and final. He is SUPER picky with how he wants things done which is the only issue I found while being in his course. 3 midterms 70%, 1 final 30%.

Colin gives clear guidelines on how to succeed. If you follow the lectures closely, the tests should not be surprising.

He is the best professor for anybody doing differential calculus at KPU.
