Very good teacher, explains things clearly, gives lots of opportunities for extra credit. Tests are fairly easy
No Comments
Ledtures can be quite boring, all you do is copy down his notes off of the overhead. Many opportunities for extra credit though if you don't do well on the tests.

Lots of notes--must pay attention, but he is a very good professor.
I love this guy, he's funny!
nice guy,and he remembers his students even in a lecture class. how many people can say that. the class kinda gave me a hard time, but he is a good teacher still
Fun class! But take good notes.
Most boring and irrelevant class I've ever taken with the worst instructor I've seen. Attacks students who disagree with his views. I disagree with above-He still got names wrong after 12 weeks. NOT very clear on assignments or expectations. Summary: Intellectual Bozo.
Taking notes off his PowerPoint is incredibly tedious, but if you go to class and take them, you don't need to buy a 90 dollar book. He gets irritated with chatter, and will spring a pop-quiz occasionally.
Olson is pretty easy. Basically you go to class, take notes, and do occasional group work. For 280, there are a lot of hw assignments, but the tests are really easy. For 371, it's all essay take home tests. Easy classes as long as you come, do the work, and read.
It was a large class - so not much one on one, but he made class enjoyable and was always there with a smile and a joke.
As long as you show up and take notes you can get an A, and if you dont do well on the tests he gives tons of extra credit. he is a bit of a snooze but at least you dont have to buy the book cuz he does everything off the overhead. he occasionally crakes jokes here and there which is entertaining.

I loved this guy. He was goofy.
if you play your cards right this can be an easy class. He reviews great for tests you are assured a good grade, and if you have been payin attention you'll do good on the final project. The tedious homework assignments become irrelevant to your grade if
I loved colins class. He was a really entertaining and captivating teacher. I never once didn't want to go to his lecture. Colin Olison rocks my world!
A Amazingly bad class!!!!! He was unclear in what he wanted out of the assignments. He did not make any justafication for the gardes he gave out.

Very good teacher. Helps you out a lot. Wants you to pass the class with an A! Makes a boring class fun. If you want a good teacher and a fun class take him.
Pretty good class. Writing assignments were helpful, but Colin can be unclear on exam reviews and material at times. He tends to jump around a little, so coming to class regularly and taking notes is very important.
He is really easy. I honestly don't know how I pulled off an A-. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! It is a big help. It also helps with the tests. Notes are usually online (not all of them though), so it can be a class that can be skipped but extra credit assignments are given in class, so it's your decision to go or not.
Invigorating class to go to. Moves fast, but makes bricks interesting and draws you in. If you have a laptob, bring it to take notes. Do the extra credit, each one boosts your grade 15%. Doing the reading before class is extremely helpful, and not hard, he chose an extremely good book. I loved the class, and never missed it: It was at 8 a.m.
All his notes for 101 are available online, but occasionally he'll add a few things that aren't there. If you're there the class before a test, he tells you what every question will be about so you don't have to study stuff that won't be on the test. Sometimes lets class out early too.
this class is extremely difficult. tests are take home, but very hard!! textbook reading is somewhat easy, but selected readings are hard to understand. however, he does try his best to explain the theories but doesn't go into great detail. attendance isn't mandatory but you MUST understand the readings in order to pass the class
I don't understand why he gets such good ratings. He puts absolutly no zest into his lectures and there was really no extra credit (two to five points max). My biggest problem is that he doesn't use any power point, and he doesn't do a very good job at all of distinguishing important details from non-important details in his lectures.
I did not like his class. He focused more on his view of politics than sociology. Very dull lectures.
I loved his class! He made it funny and interesting. I don't think I ever missed it because I enjoyed attending so much. I am actually going to take another class from him because I enjoyed the first one so much.
Colin was an interesting teacher who kept the classes informative and interesting. Very easy to talk to. One of my best teachers.Would definitly take one of his classes again.
class was really hard, because it was hard to pay attention, lectures were dull at times you were only interested by some of the jokes that were actually funny, other than that not a good socio prof. gives his views mostly
Mainstream and Alternative Media was one of the best Soc classes that I have taken at UNM. I only wish it were taught over 16 weeks rather than just intersession. Olson is engaging and helpful. It is evident that he enjoys teaching and makes Sociology interesting.
Colin was really nice. The material was kind of boring, but the class moved fast and we always got out early. Used Web CT for almost all of our assignments, really easy if you at least skim the book, take home exams and a final paper. Easy grader.
Fun Class and interesting intro to sociology... he has a hard times staying inpartial but i had fun learning other opinions and more about this career feiled. lectures can be kind of boring but overall i had fun. 3WebCT exams, 1 Final
I absolutely loved his class. He's a funny guy and he really cares about the issues he talks about and wants all his students to learn. The class was a bit tough for a 101 class but I didn't mind. If you're looking for an easy A don't take this class, but if you want to learn amazing stuff, take it!
Professor Olson was an amazing teacher! After having a few words with him after one of my classes, I was essentially enlightened - he is a very smart man.
Colon is a gorgeous and talented young man, spirited, dedicated and passionate. He is a lightening rod, ZAP intellect. I am not sure he'd appeal to young kids, but he's certainly a breath of fresh air for a mature aged student. i love his world view, he's funny...but most of all he's SMART...makes a difference.
Colin is an amazing lecturer! Honestly, there were so many times that I wanted to applaud him. His wit and intelligence is awesome and admirable. He is not only my new favorite professor...but my academic hero :D
Very funny teacher and I recommend for any Sociology class, Im taking Soc 471 with him next semester, gonna try to get him as much as possible for my soc classes! Easy to talk to and very responsive. Good lectures!
COlin is one of the best professors at UNM and one of the best teachers i have ever had. His class is fairly easy. His lectures are AMAZING. He has really changed how i look at life. I will continue to take him for me soc classes.
Gifted with insight into "the way things work" and gives interesting and fun lectures. Unfortunately he has no idea how to run a class, and you'll find yourself overwhelmed when he suddenly decides 3/4 through the semester everyone needs to catch up. Gave an extremely difficult (100+ pages of complex reading, asks. 30+ pages of analysis) final.
Colin Olson is nothing short of an incredible professors. He is extremely intelligent and very funny. He is the best teacher I've had at UNM. He makes sure to apply lessons to fun, real-life topics, and is very passionate about what he teaches. I looked forward to his lectures and would recommend him to anyone!
I agree with all the other comment. Colin is a dream. Motivated and involved.
Great course, great prof. Will be taking classes from him in the near future.
Really fun and really easy to work with on things like missed assignments
He is really easy to understand. Concepts flow, if i could take every class with this professor i would
Take home exams. Doctor Olson is susceptible to flattery and adoration which is not in short supply in his classes.
Great professor. I look for other classes to take with him.
This guy should be working at a Ivy League school no joke; he's unbelievably intelligent and has a good sense of humor that makes his class fun,I look forward to taking classes with him in the future.
His classes is incredibly interesting, no matter what class you are taking. He takes time to explain things and uses group work to make sure everybody understands. He has a great sense of humor and it comes out in many lectures. He is really nice and doesn't grade very hard. I've had several classes with him, and look forward to having more.
Easy class, always interesting. Does not stick to the syllabus so attendance is mandatory at first to get the gist of things. Not very good at emailing back but overall good teacher, knows his stuff!
Colin is VERY knowledgeable of his field. Very funny, so you will definitely have fun in his classes. Grades easy, but you still have to grasp the concepts of the assignments. Attendance is not mandatory, but still assigns group work. I would definitely take another class with him if I could.
Take him he is the one of the best sociology teachers!!!!
He is a great professor. I understood all of the assignments and felt comfortable asking questions. The work was entirely essays and quite a few of them but they were manageable and i got 100% on all of them. He doesn't do A+ though, a 90 or above is an A.
Colin was a very good professor. He made all of the assignments available and have weekly homework. As long as you complete the assignment, he will give you credit. I felt that his lectures could be boring at times, but he is very knowledgable in his field. As long as you complete all of the assignments on time, you will do fine in the class.
Online, Colin was very clear in what he expected to see in his assignments. The class can be time-consuming. The lectures will run you about 2-8 hours depending on the material being covered. Longer material will be given more time to complete. I liked this class, Colin is a good prof.
This is the third class I have taken with this instructor. I learned a lot from his lecture, and he made class fun. He gives weekly writing assignments, article reviews, short essays, but do the homework... he is an EASY grader. He is a fast talker so take notes. The only thing I didn't like about this class was his handwriting. It is horrible!!
Colin is one of the best instructors at UNM. I learned so much in Sociology 101 There is a lot of reading but if you take notes, come to class and do the assignments you will get an A. I plan to take him for other classes
Dr.Olson is a professor everyone should have if you're in the Criminology program. You have to work and really understand the material to get a good grade, so if you're a slacker then move on. He is very smart and cares about his students learning. It was nice to have a professor at UNM and not another grad student teacher.
Professor Olson was so kind and helpful. I enjoyed his online class. We did really interesting research proposals that really got you thinking. He was great!
I first took sociology 101 with a teacher who taught straight out of a textbook and had no knowledge of the subject so I dropped it and found Dr. Olson the next semester and holy crap it made a huge difference. Dr. Olson is very passionate about his work and will gladly take time to help all of his students.
Great Class! Love Colin
Dr. Olson is an excellent instructor. I took SOC 312 and SOC 351 with him in the 2015 Spring Semester and his expectations are clear. Super helpful and energetic in lectures and class. Hands down best instructor in the Criminology Department at UNM.
Colin is one of, if not the best, professor I have ever had. He really cares about what he teaches and makes it interesting to learn about. If you get the chance to have him as a professor DO NOT miss the opportunity.
The class wasn't my most favorite topic but Colin did a good job to make it interesting and was rather funny at times. There was a lot of reading and writing assignments, but he is a easy grader in my opinion. My only complaint was his hand writing was often illegible and sloppy. Don't bother trying to take notes in his class.
He's great! He gives very entertaining lectures and is obviously very passionate about the subject. I learned a lot and I would take his class again.
Best Prof for Criminology at UNM. Taken 6 classes with him so far and plan on more in the future.
Hands down the BEST PROFESSOR AT UNM! His classes consist of reading, weekly reading responses, and papers on the books read in class. However there are no tests, and Olson will always help you if you need it. Overall he's a funny guy, who's very passionate, and a GREAT lecturer. I learned so much in this class, it's surreal. Take his class.
There is a lot of reading, but it's always interesting stuff. And Olson is great at going over the readings and clarifying everything you might not understand. Overall he's an excellent professor, will make you laugh, and will keep your interest 100% of the time. I'd recommend that everyone take at least one of his classes before you graduate.
This was one of the easiest classes I've taken at UNM. Colin is a good lecturer and knows the subject matter, but his views seem to be a littleskewed. There are no tests, just response papers. Be careful of what you see on learn, I thought I had an A in the class but really had a C, he allowed me to make up all the work in the end though. Take him
Professor Colin is nice. The lectures are heavy, but it's understandable. If you don't understand the subject, he'll explain further for your understanding. There's a lot of reading, and there are mini assignment for this. They're usually 3 questions; thesis, what you don't understand, and a question. Overall, I would take this class again.
Professor Olson is the greatest teacher I have ever had. He really cares about the subject, and as someone who was only taking this class to meet a social sciences credit, he actually made it really interesting to learn about. All of his lectures are full of great information, and his assignments are very easy and relevant to what we're learning.
Easiest class I've ever taken. If you some what know what you're talking about in each essay you get a easy A+. Each module he'll post up the entire lecutre and expects you to watch each lecture and write a essay about it.
This is a laidback course from a laidback guy who is absolutely passionate about the subject. I think I attended class 12 times for a 16 week, 3 times a week class and I passed. Just turn in your work. If you skip assignments then no, you won't pass. If you turn in work and do the reading, you'll thrive in this class.
This is my second course with Colin Olson, he is awesome!
I took Sociology of corrections with him and he did a great job at teaching it. There is a lot of reading materials and a lot of discussion posts to keep up with. It can get overwhelming and the material is sometimes tiring, but it is a really interesting class.
Works really hard to engage students, gets back to emails quickly. You don't have to go to class to pass but you should bc it is really interesting. Says 'papers' only 9 1000 word papers. Really easy. Wants you to pass. Has a couple minimal point assignments done in class. Great lectures really stimulating. WOULD TAKE AGIAIN. SUPER AWESOME.
Olsen is a really great teacher and really tries to help students understand the material. The assignments are pretty easy and if you go to class, pretty much all the answers are form the lecture. My only issue was that I'm not a sociology major, so the theories and vocabulary was a little rough to take on but overall a great class, great teacher
Colin Olson is amazing. His lectures are detailed but still understandable, asks for feedback in the class to engage everyone and the assignments are easy to understand and do. If you like Sociology, take him.
Easy class and although I'm not a sociology major, I was super engaged because his lectures are so intriguing. The assignments are easy even if you don't attend class often but you should because he has a lot of interesting things to say.
You absolutely have to take this class. Worldview: changed.
Colin is one of the best professors that I have had. He is caring and easy to approach. Sometimes we would have in class assignments but not often. The assignments are relatively easy. One of the best professors by far.
Very easy online class! You have to write 500 or more word essays for each module(about 9), and as long as you try you'll get credit. Final is an essay, about 800-1000 words. But really as long as you show you're trying with your essays you'll pass. I got 100's on each assignment, & sometimes I didn't know what I was writing. Take him!
His lectures are very clear and thorough. Fair grader. Really knows his subject and wants his students to learn as well.
Colin Olson is hands down the best professor in the SOC department!! I've taken 3 classes with him and they've been wonderful. He actually teaches students' with engaging material, instead of just administering exams like most prof's in the SOC department. No tests, just short papers and usually a couple term papers. Highly recommend!
Prof. Olson is a pretty cool dude. He really made me think about society and my role in it. If you're taking this online, basically you just need to watch his videos of lectures and answer a question in the form of an essay every Friday. You also have to post in a board which I think is nice because we got to see the opinions of our peers.
Prof Olson is very knowledgeable in his field. His lectures give you a great picture of sociology and criminology and he helps you understand the material. He is always willing to answer any question you have regarding the subject and can help interpret world events happening into the class lecture. I will definitely take classes with him again.
Really easy going professor. I learned the most from this class even though I hardly attended lecture. You have to read a lot and do short assignments and papers about the readings but there are no exams which is a plus!
Olson is a cool guy but he gives too much busy work. We had homework literally every single day & sometimes we would have 4+ assignments due in one day. This sucks when you have 5 other classes and work. Lectures are so boring and no students engage. He is lenient/willing to help his students but I don't think I would take him again.
Mr. Olson is a fascinating teacher. A lot of lectures but you don't really ever have to go to class. If you read & submit your mini-papers you're fine. We watched a lot of movies in this class too.
Took Police and Social control with him. Really nice guy but class was one of the hardest I've ever taken. Multiple papers due each week and hours of reading are required if you want to pass. I heard he used to be really laid back, NOT anymore! I worked for hours each week in this class and barely scraped by with a C.
His essays had me nearly crying in a fetal position. So many papers!
Professor colin makes learning none intimidating, his approach to learning worked for me, i moved on to grad school, changed my major from criminology to architecture and i still find his information relevant. (How architecture controls crime), how buildings talk.... it was amazing taking his classes.
Colin is one of the greatest professors in the Sociology Department at UNM and if you don't take his course you're really missing out.
Professor Olsen is very passionate when it comes to his field and he truly keeps lectures interesting and easy to engage in. He does require a lot of reading, but the readings are informative and interesting especially today in a world where policing is on the hot seat. I had to immediately sign up for another class with him next semester.
His lectures are good but you need to pay attention and take good notes. Hardly any homework but papers that are so blah! There are three essays that you'll have to do and by the end of the course you'll have your own book. Just keep up and pay attention do the work and you will be great. His class is great but am glad I don't need to take it again
Solid professor. There's alot of reading with small 100 word assignments along with two papers and some other small written assignments. If you get the basic point and do the work, an A is easy. I usually just skimmed the chapters and ended up with full credit. He's also lenient with attendance. The structure of his lectures are videos/discussion.
Go to every class and participant every group work, try your best to finish the paper he give you and you will get an A.
Colin Olson is by far the best professor. His lectures are really interesting and he gives students the chance to say their perspective about things he discusses in class. He doesn't judge anyone for their own opinion on certain topics and he will definitely listen to you if u have something to say. He clarifies everything for you if you ask him to
Dr. Colin Olson is the best professor I have had since being at UNM. The material discussed is current, and he has a lot of knowledge. It is a lot of reading, but its a 400 level course; what do you expect?
Dr. Colin Olson is a wonderful man. I missed a large majority of this semester due to mental health reasons and even without talking to him he pulled strings to where I passed. Looking at the grades, I never should have passed. He let me submit a final exam late. I wish I had been able to be present more often. I'd absolutely take his class again.
Prof. Olson obviously knows what he is talking about and he enjoys what he does, but I had a hard time following him through his lectures because he writes on a board and the notes are all over the place. You really need to pay attention to what hes saying. Overall, it was a good class.
This teacher is a awesome! He explains things super well and is very understanding. He is probably one of my favorite professors I have ever had I recommend him 100%.
I had Colin my freshman year of college for Soc 101 and Soc 205 and I will have him as a professor for two of my classes again next year if you are looking for a good Sociology Professor I would for sure recommend Colin. He does do random in class group assignment that are worth about 15 points so attendance is mandatory. He is not a picky grader.
Olson is so kind and accessible. His lectures can get a little boring but hes funny and makes the material understandable. Attendance isnt mandatory, but he does random in class assignments that can affect your grade. Theres no textbook but youll read about three different books. It may seem like a lot but its not; if you can, take his class!
Olson is one of my favorite professors! He's super funny and makes his lectures interesting. He is very understanding and willing to work with you. He does have random in class assignments that are super easy. He grades very easy also. Only two papers that sound very intimidating but are easy once started.
He is such an amazing professor! He is very knowledgeable and knows how to keep everything interesting. I highly recommend taking all of his classes.
Great professor! His passion and love for the subject is evident. Hes a really nice guy as well.
Colin is a very passionate professor. He does ask of you to read around 2 books that he selects to do your homework on that you submit before class. So there is a lot of reading. You can not blow off the reading because he has a 10 page midterm over one, and 5 page final. Very specific rubric of what he wants. So do yourself a favor and read.
Colin is one of the most knowledgeable teachers I have ever had. He really makes you think about things in a new way. Must do readings and reflections for class, but he's an easy grader and they are usually interesting. I am about to take my third class with him, I have learned twice as much in his class than most others. I highly recommend him!!!
Dr. Olson is a very knowledgeable professor and he is always willing to meet up with student. There are a lot of reading but it is fairly easy and not too long. Attendance is not mandatory but he does do random quizzes.
This is my second class with Olson and I truly adore this man. He is so passionate about sociology but can often get frustrated when no one has read (which was often). He has quite a few readings, do them if you can, they're really helpful for the lectures and writing papers. He's very accessible and welcoming, I recommend everyone takes him!
Pretty lax professor. Doesn't take attendance; however, he will sometimes have in-class assignments that you can't make up. You do have to attend one assigned day for a participation grade though. An easy grader as well. Lots of short writing assignments based off readings. Multiple books to read (depending on the class) instead of textbook.
Dr. Olsen is the best professor in the UNM Sociology department. He is passionate, brilliant, and exactly what I think a professor should be. I have taken him several times and every time is great. He's the type of guy that makes you strive to find something that you're meant to do, because he is doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing.
Colin Olson is an incredible guy. I'm taking SOC 312/416/424 with him all at the same time (which he agreed to so I can graduate early). Lots of reading, but he is willing to work with you if you fall behind. I took 101 with him a few semesters back and failed for mental health reasons- he let me submit the final 2 weeks late for full credit (100%)
You will do well in Colins class. He does not grade anything harshly. The work load is small and not overpowering like in some other sociology classes. As long as you do the work its an easy A in my opinion.
Professor Olson is an amazing professor. He understands everyone learns and interprets information differently and doesn't punish students for that during the grading process. His workload contains lots of reading and short answer questions and a research proposal as a final. I would take this class again and I am taking the same prof next semester
personally loved taking a class with Collin and I look forward to taking future sociology courses with him. He is a great instructor and has a great way of teaching. While the workload is quite a lot of reading if you stay on top of it you should be fine. However he is very lenient with due dates because he understands that sometimes life happens.
Take him and you will not regret it! Hands down the best Soci prof at UNM. Wish he offered more because I would take anything that he offers. There is a lot of reading and an assignemnt before every class but it is not dreadful and they're straight to the point.
Best professor I ever had. I know he is one of the few many that actually understands his students. I wish I took him sooner. He is not hard to take, and you learn so much. If you have an opportunity to take him, do not pass it up. He is one of the only good professors that actually teaches and doesn't make class hard. Just do your work, easy A.
The exemplar of what a professor should be. I'm looking forward to taking him for as many classes as possible in the future. He does in-class assignments, so if you don't attend class, then your grade will probably suffer.
Assignments consisted of reading 4 books with 4, 2 page reflection papers, discussion posts regarding the reading, and 8 discussion posts about news articles. No exams. Very light grader. Each student presented to the class two times from their seat. Lectures are not structured and mainly run off of discussions, but help to clarify the reading.
Fair grader, and usually lets you turn in late work all year long, is also super open and friendly to conversation about work and helping you!
You have to attend to receive in-class credit you lose so much if you don't. He also only uses white male authors and uses insensitive word choices such as the word "transvestite". Also says "right?" as a question at the end of a statement every other sentence which is very easy to go insane over. Would not recommend.
As long as you do the reading reflections, final essay, go to class and do your part leading lecture you'll be good.
His class is structured very easily. Go to class, do half of the assignments, do like 3 "papers", and contribute to the conversation. He provides the reading material which is very unique and fun to read. Definitely recommend!
Professor Olson is an amazing professor, he's very compassionate and understanding, more than willing to stay back and help you should you need it. This is the second course I have taken with him, the structure is very clear and easy, there's assignments one or two a week at most but they aren't hard. I really recommend taking any course with him!
There is lots of reading and lecturing and discussion in all of his courses. As long as you submit everything you'll pass. He also doesn't do exams! He expects you to demonstrate knowledge through short essays.
Very understanding, kind, and friendly professor. Willing to listen to your concerns. He provides textbooks at least for this class and makes his best effort to create interesting lectures. Very happy to have had him as a prof.
Colin is a wonderful professor! His class was very flexible and his teaching style is very engaging. Theres a bit of reading but he provides everything and will reflect on all the reading to make sure you understand. He's also very compassionate and understanding. 11/10.
Literally one of the best professors. As long as you do the work the class is an easy A.
Literally one of the best professors I have ever had. This specific class helps you with your internship and consists of 1 short paper a week. Super easy. Dr. Olson's lectures are amazing, and he is so knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. I am already registered to take 2 more of his classes. Recommend him all day!
Professor Olsin is one of the best professors at UNM. He is extremely knowledgeable and knows exactly how to get students engaged with the material during his lectures. If you do all of the work and try to learn something new, you will do great in his class. He is also very understanding and a great person overall. 10/10 class
If you listen and pay attention to his lectures, you're gonna be fine in this class. There are no other assignments aside from your participation in class and then the final which can either be a project or a paper depending what he feels like doing. Very approachable and open to questions before, during, and after class.
I absolutely love Professor Olson, He gives such good feedback on your papers and it's very obvious that he cares about his students. It's a very lecture-heavy course with a lot of reading material, but it's very easy to understand and he's forgiving when it comes to turning in late work. He's an awesome professor & incredibly knowledgeable.
Over 50% of our grade was based solely on class participation. Even with an accommodation from ARC, this was very hard to manage. Lots of reading and lots of writing. You have to put a lot of work into this class to pass. Usually lenient with deadlines, though. Professor Olson was kind and engaging, but the class is a large commitment.
Colin's courses don't have exams but there a usually 4 papers and assignments. He lectures every class so if you have a hard time focusing for a while his classes are hard to be attentive for a while.
THE BEST CLASS! It also helps, as it is a PreReq for many other SOCI and CRIM electives. The readings aren't too dense and his lectures are very funny. I would make the walk over to Dane Smith in the cold just because he made it so enjoyable. He's approachable if you need to reach out and ask questions; I cannot recommend his classes enough!
One of the nicest professors I've met. He has a ton of passion for the subject and cares a lot about his students. His class was very interesting and was an easy A.
I WOULD TAKE ANY CLASS HE TEACHES. VERY SWEET PERSON AND WITH A GREAT HUMOR!!!
What a wonderful professor. I left his classes feeling inspired after every session. I took SOC380 & SOC488 with him this semester and both classes were amazing. The readings were also amazing and perfect for the learning objectives in both of his classes. I recommend ANY of his classes to ANY person taking Sociology courses!
Professor Olson was an amazing professor. His kindness and enthusiasm for students was truly admirable. I took 371 with him online and I really enjoyed his class. The readings were long and sometimes difficult to understand, but he allowed us to center in on a specific topic and expand on it using our own ideas. I highly recommend!
Professor Olson's classes are a must-take! His passion and care for students shine through. The content is engaging, and the workload is manageable. unstuckstudy was a great study aid alongside the textbook. I'd take any of his courses again in a heartbeat.
I took him for an online course and he was great. In person however, he is so boring. Professor Olson is an easy grader and grades by two essays, randomized attendance and many reading assignments.
You can tell he is extremely passionate about what he teaches and it is very motivating
I've taken Professor Olson as an in person class before, but his online classes are much easier and there was rarely an issue with any assignments. Even when there was, I was able to email and still get full credit back on the assignment. It is a lot of reading, but as long as you know the content and what you are discussing, it was not hard.
