This professor has been one of the toughest professors I have had. I would not recommend taking her online or offline for that matter. Very disappointed with this professor.

Honestly, DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I graduated 25 of my high school class and took 2 years as a Biology premed major at UT Austin (took really hard classes) and this professor is DIFFICULT. She doesn't give ANY feedback - except generic feedback which is used for everyone. EXTREMELY specific on grading. Almost everyone online dropped.

Do not take this class with this professor. Rude, impatient, and not understanding. Have never taken a class where a professor can be belittle her class.

Unfortunately I had to drop this class because it was the hardest one I've chosen she wasn't any help at all Run! run as fast as you can and don't look back!!!!

You are on your own in this class. You ask her a simple question and she will direct you to the syllabus. Will not give you a clear answer to your question and does not give her own feedback. I was dropped from the class so was unable to do evaluation on her, but will contact the Dean and give one anyways. Tough grader and is not there for you.

Good thing I dropped her class like the majority of the class did because I'm better off taking English without her

Worst Instructor ever; almost everyone online dropped her class. All the student's would email each other and ask why she was failing everybody.

I may have earned a B in her class, but it was by no means worth it. I hope to god you read these reviews before taking this course because this B was not worth the severe anxiety, massive stress acne breakouts, sleepless nights, and tears. She will not help you and is very rude. Even when you ask for help. Worst teacher I have ever had.

All her work was confusing. She took half the semester to put any grades and that was when your worrying of how you were doing came true. Her grading is beyond exaggerating! You message her for help or tell her your confused and she just tells you well how did you pass 1301. Out of 33 students 3 stayed on her online class, so just imagine!I dropped

I have never had a more horrible, unprofessional instructor in all my years in school. Instead of being there to help a student out in their time of need, she chooses to condone and criticize. She is the instructor, and therefore should lead by example of being helpful and NOT hurtful.

Hardest A I ever had to earn, Teaches very generally so she expects you to know how to write professionally off the bat. Extremely critical on your work almost to a point of insulting. I would never recommend her to anyone.

Worst teacher I have ever had. Hates helping students will refer to CLE, only likes the ones that sit in her class. Gets upset if you don't understand. Make sure to e-mail ahead of time if you will be late, she won't accept your hw. If your majoring in writing then you should definitely take Brooks for the challenge.

One of the worst teachers I ever had!! I never missed a day in class, never used my phone and I always did the work in time, she ended up giving me a D, don't ever take her class if you want to live

I listened to the "good" reviews on here, BIG MISTAKE. DO NOT TAKE HER. She contradicts herself. She will give you a good review of your work but still give you a low grade. Never grades on time. Never explains her assignments properly. Her grading criteria is ridiculous. Very disorganized. DO NOT TAKE HER. You have been warned. haha..

Dropped this class days before the drop date. I did not want to give up on this class, but she never helped me or was direct in her emails. If you are planning to take her online, be ready to wait months before you see any grades or feedback. She will give you 0's if she finds anything wrong with in the first words of your essay. By far one of the worst instructors I have come across. She contraindicates her assignments, unreasonable, and very disrespectful on her comments. She is inconsiderate, and not willing to listen to your questions. She stated I did a run on sentence when I got it from a poem that was quoted and cited. DO NOT TAKE! HORRIBLE!!!

I was one of those who listen to the good reviews here and decided to take up the challenge of this professor. Horrible idea. I did not drop out. I did all my work but for some reason I couldn't "understand" her or what she wanted out of homework/assignments. Her lectures make sense but her teaching/grading does not. Run. Far away. Just-RUN.

WARNING! Very tough grader. Hardly ever satisfied. More than half the class is failing. Isnt clear on what she expects just keeps referencing you back to grading rubric which doesnt give much information. Makes mistakes herself which causes more confusion. Expects you to know everything about English just by taking a 1301 course. No help.

If you are thinking you can pass this class you are wrong, no matter how hard you try it is just never good enough for her. Takes long to grade, and her grading technique is insane. I am about to drop her class with other 20 students because we all have averages between 30's and 50's. DO NOT TAKE HER!

The semester started off so good and so easy, it continued to be like that for a while. I did not know what I had coming when taking this class, she hits you with 3 essays towards the last couple of weeks of the semester and does not take majority of homework for a grade.

She grades extremely hard and is rude. Her work is not much but she takes forever to grade the assignments, she grades them after the drop date.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER! Very harsh tough grader. She gives you feedback on pervious assignments after new assignments have already been turned in. This really leaves little to no room for improvement.

She's a really bad grader she takes forever to return your assignments she never explains what she wants she just tells you do this and that. And grades after a month that your assignments have been turned in

This was actually my first time disliking a teacher. She took FOREVER to return papers for us, lost papers (when she said she never did) and doesn't know how to correctly update Blackboard. She can also speak pretty rudely which I've seen my friends receive. Save yourself and avoid this instructor.

DO NOT TAKE HER! I took her for English 1301 at STC. And wow she made my first semester college experience horrible. She's a tough grader, always gives homework every week, hardly time to relax. She makes you read a book while assigning constant homework. She assigned 4 essays throughout the semester, the last one being a final. Do not take her.

Worst professor at explaining what she want. She not very helpful with assignments and she takes a long time to grade essays so, by the time you get the feedback you have already submitted other essays. She takes a lot of points off for little mistakes. She does not communicate with students when issues occur. Overall, do not enroll in her class.

Horrible, horrible teacher - worst I've ever had the misfortune of taking. She NEVER explains what exactly she wants, and if you ask her for help, she'll change her mind and take points off what you turned in when that's what SHE said she WANTED. My entire class is failing right now, even the students that have done extra credit.

The assignments are not a lot nor are they hard, but her communication on how she WANTS the assignments was HORRIBLE, because of that I am rating her 1 star. Horrible class, not knowing exactly what she wanted was very stressful. Focuses too much on perfection where you are left not learning anything. Do not take her if you actually want to learn.

Do not take this class!! Her assignments look easy at first but she throws paragraphs of instructions that are unclear and when you try to ask her a question she will be very rude and will respond to the entire class saying we should have read the instructions right. She thinks everything is plagiarized or copied from someone else. JUST HORRIBLE!

Uh, where to begin.... Feedback are some what late, like I mean, late. I wish she was more clear (especially since she specifically asked us to be specific about what we need help in). Be careful about your grammar and make sure you know how to write MLA format on Word. No extra credit is given as an option so don't even ask her! Good luck.

I wouldn't reccomend taking her, she's rude over email and really does try to fix it by adding a smiley face. She expects you to know everything just because you've taken an English 1301 course. She doesn't give good feedback and all she does is criticize your work if it's wrong instead of helping you. Gives out zeros for honest work you tried on.

Brooks will judge your work based on details that are very subjective, not part of the curriculum, and undefined. For example, she gave me a 50 for doing extra work and making my essay 2.5 pages instead of 2 (nowhere did she specify that we couldn't go over). She does not give good feedback on your writing and waits until the last minute to grade.

Horrible professor!! Never in the many years of attending STC have I had a professor like her. Shows no compassion for her students, extremely hard in grading. I had professionals help me with assignments and I still would fail all my assignments. VERY rude and sarcastic with feedback and emails. DO NOT take her.

You are gonna read a chapter book and do an essay out of the chapters she provides. She gives out grammar assignments as well and if she sees you with a friend and you have the same. You will fail her class automatically, she does't really care about you. You are ALWAYS WRONG and she's ALWAYS RIGHT. She's like Miss Trunchbull from the movie Matilda

Would not recommend to anyone. What she asks for is so confusing and she is a VERY tough grader. I can't stand her class and never hated any class or subject until this one.

This professors awful, had her on the spring semester of 2022 and she would take forever to grade, never be of help, and makes many mistakes and you have to reach out to her because sometimes she puts in the wrong grade. TRY TO NOT TAKE HER. If classes are full, wait until next semester or choose a different professor. NOT WORTH IT.

Where to even begin with this professor. Basically save your tears and money and DO NOT TAKE HER. Her work ethic is very much questionable I'm surprised she got hired in the first place. #keepingitreal #noregrets

DO NOT USE THIS PERSON!!! you are going to read as if this is a reading class and when you do the assignment it will not be good enough for her. She is horrible at grading or working with you she doesn't care if you work nights or if you need help. I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASS WITH HER!!!!!!!!!!

She will find any little thing to make your work wrong and in the beginning of class she will make you attend an online session and you are supposed to get a certificate, I had contacted her for three days straight and at the end she told me "You will just have to move on" when I attended the session and it was not my fault I didn't receive it.

At first, the class seemed fine I was getting good grades until about the third week. Her feedback is inconsistent and confusing. She'll tell you to make changes, and when you do, she criticizes you for it. By the end of the course, only four students were left, which says a lot.

This professor sets tedious and frustrating criteria for assignments, showing no sympathy or consideration for students who lack access to the supplies she requires. She says students must study a minimum of five hours for her class each week, so unless you're willing to sell your soul to her, pick another professor.

DO NOT TAKE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I made the mistake of choosing this professor without reading reviews first. She shows no mercy, expects you to write like HER, and provides no room for past knowledge of composition. Dear God take anybody else, if there's no more professors CHOOSE A DIFFERENT COURSE!

No matter how well you write or follow instructions, she gives Fs unpredictably and doesn't follow her own grading criteria. The class requires materials not listed in the syllabus which are hard to access for students who are not willing to sell their soul just for the sake of this class. Save your GPA and avoid this professor!

Ms. Bryant seems to grade on a whim and does not give feedback in a timely manner. She wants you to write exactly like she writes and leaves no room for personality. Quizzes are essay questions answered "In your own words"; she will give partial credit on a question without explaining why. I recommend that students avoid this teacher at all costs.

I received a 20/40 on a rough draft. Without any feedback, she told me to take it to a tutor. The tutor was surprised that I had gotten such a low grade and made a couple of suggestions. After revising my paper, I took it back to the tutor. She said it was great and ready to turn in. Ms. Bryant disagreed and gave me an even lower grade.
