If you need a humanities class, this is the professor to take. She is one of those professors that does not overwhelm you with work, but you learn so much. You have to be a retard not to pass this class. You'll have so much fun learning.

I agree that there is waaaaay toooo much work I took History 100 in school w/ Gomez much better, a little crazy, but the assignments are not as rediculous. mrs. calderon's class is so easy.it was my first class i took coming out of high school and i was surprised how easy she was. even though im not that good at papers i still got an A. she doesnt grade hard at all and she gives u notes that are gonna be on the test. you watch crash you have two tests and an essay question on each dont worry its easy!

This class requires a lot of reading, quite a few detailed writing assignments, tests, and quizes. Hist 101 is not an easy class, but Mrs Calderon is a good professor who is willing to help out her students. Overall, I enjoyed her humorous lectures and cool personality.

Took an online class Summer 2010 and this class is very easy as long as you do the work and quizzes. I really like her lectures over reading the textbook. Her lectures pretty much summarize the reading and you will find some of the answer to the quizzes from there. Would recommend it.

She is an amazing teacher and very funny! You learn the material without ever thinking you were learning it. It's like she tricks you into learning it because her class is that fun. There are a lot of papers, but they are to make sure you understood what she taught. Highly recommended.

Just take notes and trip out on the facts of America as most of us didn't know it. Xtra credit also a plus. Take Calderon you won't be disappointed.

At first I was like oh no who is this lady?..She uses very strong language and calls it comedy. I was almost offended but I realized that I needed the class so I had to get through it so did. The assingments were easier than the class. She teaches history in a very modern manner. All in all I would take her class for the grade.

Easiest class you can take. Essays are all short and you can rewrite all of them. She plays a movie during each class, and then you write an essay about them (really short essay). Group assignments got a little annoying because sometimes members of group would not contribute to assignment, but whatever. Awesome professor and she's really funny !

Took the 8 week hybrid class and loved it, She was very helpful and completely down to earth. Gave great feedback on papers and as long as you did the work ( which she made very interesting and easy to do) you will pass this class. I only wish I needed anther history class so I could take her again.

just took her for summer 2015 online class and yes there was ALOT of reading and couple of videos. She is very straight forward and gives extra credit. No late assignments are accepted. Be prepared to be very specific on your discussions and to give great examples. Overall she was great teacher i learned a lot.

Professor Calderon Hybrid course is for full-time workers. Her lectures are hilariously funny to sit through for 2.5hrs well worth it. All you have do is show up and do assignments. Two Group projects, 2 quizzes, and 2 exams that are easy to pass as long as you read chapters in text books. She will allow print out exams posted before submitting.

I took an accelerated 8 week course- LOTS of reading and papers compacted into a short amount of time. The work, however, was not as difficult as time consuming. HILARIOUS!! Great lectures. Down to earth and cares about your passing, so long as you do. Many extra credit opportunities- no reason to fail her course! Would definitely take her again

Makes students want to read with the humor in lectures. Really easy class to get through and she makes you remember what is taught. Took the online summer class. Every week there's one discussion, one journal and a test. Only had to do 3 or the 4 discussions (she only allows you to do 3, you don't get credit for 4). The best history prof I've had.

Took her online Hist100 class for Summer 16. A lot of reading and writing, but that's expected in any summer session. Lectures are fun to read. Although we never met, I feel as though I know her personality just by reading her syllabus, & lectures. Work is simple, gives extra credit, so that's always good. Test are pretty long. Final grade was a B.

First day of class and already love prof. Calderon's class. She's really hilarious and cares for her students. She gives numerous amounts of extra credit opportunities. It's a hybrid class but it's worth it. You won't be disappointed with prof. Calderon guarantee it.

I took 137 during the summer and am taking 139 in Spring. She is AMAZING! Gives you all the assignments day 1. You can work ahead if you'd like (very easy to do) 1 discussion, 2 discussion replies, and 1 quiz due per week. Extra credit discussion and quiz as well. Essay is a final. Very easy to pass with A. Great easy to read lectures and text

Professor Calderon is hilarious! I took a night class, and I thought I might be falling asleep, but no way! She is really funny and as a bonus, she provides snacks. Attendance is not mandatory, but since the packets are completed in class, I would totally recommend you go! You can use those packets on your test. Easy A, and very interesting!

This was my third and final class with Professor Calderon. She is amazing! Day 1 gives you all the info you need. Do the work (which is not hard) and you will pass with a good grade. Due dates are clear and there is plenty of extra credit. The exams are common sense and if you've done the assigned reading, you should get an A.

This was my first online class at SBVC. What a great professor. Even though it was online she was engaging and provided feedback on every assignment. All assignments were graded timely and provided enough extra credit to bring up your grade if necessary. Highly recommend Professor Calderon.

so i took mrs calderon for african american history in 2018. dude thats an easy A class, take it. You do all test and quizzes online and she lets you use notes. Easy A thats all i have to say. also she makes sure none of her students have lower than a C so if you want an additional A for your gpa take her. Hecka nice too and super funny

She is a truly amazing woman. She asks you to buy textbooks but you can find pdf versions and sometimes shell even have the already on the website. She is raw and real and you can tell she loves her job. She gives extra credit CONSTANTLY and gives you multiples chances on certain assignments. An easy A if you ask me!

I took Professor Calderon's class online. She was very funny and it is very hard to put her lectures down; they are captivating. I highly taking her 8 week class, did in 7 weeks.

I took Calderon's online class and was surprised at how well I did, this was my first time taking an eight week course. It was a little hectic but after the second week, I got the hang of it. There are two books, you won't read all of it but you'll be assigned certain readings within them. There are also quizzes based on assigned YT videos (easy!).

Professor Calderon is a gem. Every lecture of hers felt like I was watching an R-rated Ellen Degeneres standup routine, yet really learning history at the same time. Her criteria is clear and she gives so many opportunities for XT credit if you forget an assignment or test. Also, all exams and assignments are done online. Look no further!

Great professor. It was 12-week course so thats the reason of the heavy homework but it's easy. Homework is based on the lectures and on the books. There are opportunities for extra credit as well.

I felt nervous as this was my first online course let alone in 7 weeks. However, Professor Calderon guides you through the entire way! With weekly announcements, and assignment reminders. Do be organized & study. You get what you work for at the end. Do not turn work in late. Untimed exams( 2 trys). Zoom lectures, quizzes, vids were my favorite.

I LOVED Calderons class. I am terrible at history, but her style of teaching is amazing. Theres readings, videos, and her lectures (written and zoom). You will have an excellent experience taking her. I have taken her 4x for different History classes. HIst 100, 137, 138, and 139 and every time I was satisfied equally in her class. Her syllabus is very clear. If you stay on top of your work and meet the deadlines you will be fine. She responds very quickly if you need help.

Professor Calderon is one of the greatest teachers I have ever had the pleasure of having. If you are on the fence about taking this class DO IT! This definitely will not be the last time I take one of her classes. Truly just a great person, and I learned more from just her class than I ever have in my academic career.

This class was vary informative that you want to continue reading all the lectures. She is very clear on what she expects, just complete all your assignments and do the best you can. I took this class in the summer and it was pretty intense but her lectures made the research fun.

Her class was cool, and easy to get work finished. There were five assignments a week, but they were pretty easy to complete. Usually, two of those assignments were video analyses. Sitting through her lectures was not boring, for me at least.

Honestly this was a great class and I've never liked history. It's quite a lot of work but once you do the readings and watch her lecture it's very simple. Each week is the same; discussion, exam, video analysis quiz, & extra credit discussion. Grading is based on points once you reach 900 you're done. Do the work and extra credit!

I see a lot of people complaining about her being a tough grader for the the discussion posts, but she clearly states everything you need to include in your post. She also allows you to inbox her your posts before Friday and will provide with feedback on exactly what you need to add or what is missing. Lots of extra credit opportunities as well.

I took this class last year during the summer session and it was great to ease myself into what college would be like. Take this class, if you need an easy class for a history credit!
