A MUST TAKE! McGraw is the Terry Green of Statistics :) She is clear, concise, informative, and helpful. Her test are not hard, rather, challenging. Attend class and do your homework, and you'll do great. Her subtle sense of humor makes the class great.

Dr. McGraw is super nice and has a good sense of humor. If you are good at math already you will do great in her class, if 52 is your first math, or if you aren;t good at math it might be a little harder for you. A great teacher!

Great teacher! Exams are hard but fair (questions from homework). 6 exams + 1 final, nothing gets dropped :(... Great personality and definitely one of the best Pre-Calc teachers out there. Very straight forward, no-nonsense attitude... I love her!!!

stat is the worst class ever but she makes it easy to understand. if you have to take stat (which i did) take it with her. go to class, take the notes, do your hw and study her online reviews (which r great) youll be fine. shes funny too & very helpful!!

If you are a good out of class HW student then you will do great in this class. You must do lots of problems - do them randomly before a test - and you wil get an A. She is clear and No HW collected - great personality and very relaxed.

McGraw is a great teacher. This is math though, if your not willing to put in the work then don't take the class. The tests are very fair if you study and she is always willing to help. I got an A, but worked for it. I would def. rec. her, she is very clear and to the point

Sticks to material that is on the test and teaches it clearly enough, plan on studying/homework if you expect to get a decent grade. Doesn't come up with any b.s. surprises or 'trick questions' like some do. Handwriting needs some work. Learning the calculator makes this class much easier.

couldn't force myself to be interested initially but slowly found myself awakening with interest. this course taught me the value of understanding innate mathematical concepts and the meaning of the word studying. she truly makes an effort so long as you're willing to do so as well.shouldbe at a 4yr

Easy going and very helpful teacher, classes are less tense. Tests & exams mostly come from homework,do her homework and you'll be able to ace the class.

Ms. McGraw is awesome. I had taken stats before and dropped out because I couldn't understand a thing. McGraw made it so easy to understand that I tutored 4 other students to A's. When friends complain that she's too easy, I say "if U understand it, then she's teaching well."

The best math teacher I had at SMC. She gives you confidence in the subject, answers questions clearly and completely, and is lenient on grading exams. She's also funny and has a great personality. Regsiter for her class early, it usually fills up fast (a sign of a great teacher) take her for stat.

she has a good personality. gives good material to take notes on. tests require lots of study. does not drop any tests! i messed up on a test which basically ruined my chances of getting a grade higher (a couple of points away too!) i mean.. cob on.

She is a great teacher but if you are not a fast learner then don't take her class. She is a very helpful professor and she will work with you but you have to stay on top of your work. If you get math easily then take her class if not then take someone else who teaches slowly.

Not like she needs another good review, but i'm giving her one anyway. Wonderful, very bright, very clear on what you need to know for the tests. Do the homework and you'll be fine. Does not add anyone not enrolled - don't waste your time.

Need atleast TI-83 plus. No EC. Doesn't drop lowest test, doubles highest instead. Tells u how 2 "fudge" problems 2 get atleast some points if u have no idea. Need 2 do homework 2 keep up. Can get pts 4 writing formula correctly. If u put wrong numbers in formula but do right work u get some points. Hard class great teacher MUST do hw every nite!

Excellent teacher, she practically tells you whats going to be in the exam so there are no suprises there. Her exams are fairly easy, if you do your homework you should at least get a C on the exams, but if you study theres not reason not to get an A. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Excellent professor! Her lectures are clear, her explanations are encouraging and her exams are very fair. I highly recommend this wonderful teacher to any student who's serious about math because she WILL help you excel.

pretty lenient teacher. exams are not tricky. mostly from the book. quizzez almost every thursday. 1 or 2 questions on each quiz and they are directly from the book. drops one quiz but not the exam. her lectures aren't always straight forward so must do extra studying. but overall, pretty cool teacher. i just hope she teaches math 08 :)

same as previous comment but she is really really good! She teaches in such a clear way that if you do not understand ur real stupid. H/W is optional doesnt collect it. Willing to work with student, helpful, and if she sees you are trying, she will give you the benefit of the doubt. Take her if you are a hard worker. I got a B, surprisingly.

Very clear, will definetly help you. gives credit for work done, but if your the type of person that can get the answer with messy work esp. with a calculator, it could make the class deficult

She DOES put tricky questions in quizes and ESPECIALLY on tests. Once she accidentally said one question we didn't take before but it did influence the grade, SEVERELY! She is unfair grader too - takes to many points off for little technicalities. If u thought u new math fairly well - if u're morally weak, she will break u into believing opposite.

do your homework and understand it. go to her for help. she gives partial credit. practically gives away test problems.just do the work and practice the problems. she is a great professor.

Do the Homework, ask questions, 5 tests, 1 final, about 15 quizez you can drop one quiz no test. Fair grader, fair teaching method.

Most problems on quizzes and tests are even problems from homework assignments so there isn't anything you can't familiarize yourself with. Quizzes are every week (to get you to do your homework)and are fairly easy. Tests are only moderately difficult. First 15-20 mins. of class are for HW questions. Would take her for all math classes if I could.

this class is not easy if you have not had a trig or calc class previously and requires a lot of studying. prof McGraw is extremely fair. best advice is to do every hw problem and dont skip any problems because the ones you skip might be on the test or quiz

Even though the homework is not required, you have to do it all to understand the material. She will answer any questions that you have during class. She is a very helpful teacher, not an easy class but a great teacher. She also gives good notes.

Great teacher. Love the way her class is organized. HW is given, but never collected. 5 tests and a final. Final was very very easy...easier than the 5 tests. Lecture is always clear and concise. Very easy and educating class.

Took math 2 in the spring '06. The subject is crap to say the least, but she gives us a heads up on what to expect in the course. Very nice lady, helpful as can be, pulls test ?'s straight from the homework and please do yourself a favor and learn how to do the math department problems on her website. Do all your homework and you'll be fine :).

The subject sucks but she makes it as easy as anybody can make it. She dosent mind if u miss a class or two and she dosent collect homework u couldnt ask more from a math teacher

Gives very organized lectures. Extremely helpful during office hours plus does special stats-only workshops every week in the Math Lab (probably unpaid and on her own time). Sassy in a no-nonsense way.

5 exams, 1 final, weekly quizzes. I LOVE her. I wish she taught Math 7. It's not her intention to make life difficult for us and indeed, she didn't. Exams are pretty easy as long as you understand the basic concepts in each chapter. Practice and you'll do extremely well in her class. Straight-forward, no trick Questions. MUST TAKE

She is the best professor I have in SMC. She is a super funny teacher, and does not care of Money a lot. She loves talking with students. If you do your homework, you will be fine on your exams and tests. She does not collect HW, so you have to push yourself to do HW in order to do fine on her exams.

She's such a good teacher. She's helpful and goes over examples from the online homework only if you ask and provide the question. She talks about other things & allows for fun in the class. The math is not hard if you pay attention or have learned some in the past. The text book was never used unless you needed little examples. Online hw was easy.

She is great if you do your homework on line and study for your test and final. She does a workshop and is very helpful in ? you may have. She help you out as much as she can. She is organize in her lectures. She is a nice person.

She's a fairly easy teacher in her regular classes, but for scholar's she's a lot harder. If you think her scholar's class in harder, you are wrong. there is a big difference. Overall she's an OK professor, even though she talks very fast.

She's such a great person. Very friendly and available if you have questions. Tests are straight-forward: do the homework (that's not collected - you're an adult, now, do what you should be doing) and you'll do fine. I recommend reading the section before class so that you are comfortable with the examples she puts up. Ask lots of questions.

Mcgraw is always willing to help. Her class is very straight forward no B.S. She teachers the material in a organized and straight forward manner. Answers emails very quickly. Fair grader.

I too was really nervous about taking this class, as i almost failed it in high school. However, to add a rebuttal here she made the book a second option in class and throughly covered every example from every chapter. She also was a very thoughtful grader, and truly returned the effort you put into the class. Highly recommended!

I dont know what the other people are talking about. they obviously never took wong or mazorow. had to retake this class cuz failed from mazorow (had to self-teach calc!). took this class over fall and got an a. just do the homework. she explains very well. participate like crazy (she likes that and gives major points!) just study hard. "mm kay?"

took her for math 28. i had no interest in calc b4 entering her class and she made a world of difference. very fair teacher and really cares. i learned alot and was so appreciative to have her after having taken wong. would definitely recommend her. great teacher

Professor McGraw is really a down to earth person. she is really chill in class and in office hours. the class is not hard nor easy. DO all the homework and pay attenion in class.

She never took attendance, only the first day of class but her lectures are very important!. Her lectures are very straightforward and clear. All her tests are based on her lectures. This isn't a hard class. You just have to push yourself to show up to class and pay attention. Take very Good notes !if u do ur hw and show up to class youll be fine!

Do not take this teacher for Math 07, but heard good things about her for Math 52. Test were really hard; she will do very easy problem in class and will give very hard problems on the test, and the final was VERY hard. Out of 45 student in the beginning, about only 13-18 student made it to the final, the rest dropped. Not an easy "A" Try to avoid

This class is super easy.Don't forget you are in Math7 so it's not an easy subject but she is awesome.

I absolutely loved her class. She is one of the best professors that teach at SMC. She is very personable and I found if very easy to pay attention in her class. She doesn't take role and doesn't really mind if you come to class late. Her exams aren't that hard if you pay attention in class.

took math52 over WINTER! i'm HORRIBLE at math but managed to pull off a good grade! she explains so well & is so nice and helpful! i love her. it was definitely FAST but if u work your butt off and do ALL your hw...u should be fine!

She is phenomenal. I have ALWAYS struggled with math, until taking her class- I haven't received a score lower than a 95 on an exam. Granted she does talk fast, but if you show up and pay attention in lecture, it is not hard to get an A. She's also pretty funny, and while I normally loathe math, I didn't mind going to her class. I highly reccomend.

Dr. McGraw is fabulous. Very approachable & helpful. She really cares about her students and she has an amazing sense of humor.

Took her Scholars section. I recommend her for scholars credit; not an easy A but it's stats and as long as you spend time doing it at home you'll do fine. She does speak fast but at least she finishes the syllabus. Great at explaining, funny, good class in my opinion.

im sorry to ask but what do you do extra as scholar's class?

If you take her Scholars section here is what to expect: additional quizzes (10% of your final grade), usually 5-6 during the semester. Expects a little more from you as well but good way to get scholars credit anyhow.

i wonder what the guy on the bottom is talking about. No more quizzes on scholars, but she replaced with assignments, its like take home test/quiz.. easy she talks ex.fast though.... and little bit hard test i think if you are a math person you will be fine, if not you might struggle a bit

Best stats teacher I have ever had! She does talk really fast, but also writes what she says down so you don't miss anything. Some people say her writing on the board isn't clear/neat, but it's their fault for not asking for clarification, which she expects! She explains how to do everything clearly and goes over anything anyone has problems with.

took her for the math 54 stats class and i thought she was intimidating at first but she is so cool and chill! She made stats as easy as it could possibly get! Homework is not mandatory but the people who succeed in the class do it. she never takes attendance but ur hurting urself if you dont show up. 2 projects were ok cuz got partners.RECOMMEND!

her lectures are very fast pace, she doesn't take attendance but she still knows who shows every day, no HM, quiz every week, the class covers lot of material, exams were fair, the Final was Bull! It's cumulative and only few days to prepare, and very challenging.

Professor McGraw is the best Math teacher I have had. I took her scholar's statistics class and it is fast-paced. She's funny and says "Does that make sense, do you care>..Monday?" after teaching something on Mondays. She makes Math fun. Work hard and she will give you an A.

McGraw has been the best math teacher I've had. TO get an A you need to do ALL of the homework, go to SI sessions if you can, and make sure you ask her for help. People did bad in her class because they were lazy DON'T BE ONE OF THESE PEOPLE. An A is very much possible, and I would totally recommend her.

holly crap the best teacher at SMC. this has to be the easiest teacher. she drops two quizzes and replaces one of your test with a final. if you do all the hw you should be fine. I hardly showed up to class and passed the class with a B and that's with little effort.

Took her for Math 2, 7 & 54. She is organized and really knows her stuff. She talks pretty fast but you get used to it. Math 2 she was pretty tough but 7 and 54 were a lot better. She teaches clearly and efficiently usually and is always open to questions during class and office hours. Do the work and put the time in and you will succeed.Take her!!

She is a ery good teacher, took her for precal this last fall and understood almost everything. All yo need is her notes and the homework. Always do your homework and you'll be fine

Took her for stats. Got an A without doing too much studying. I think she is a nice person and she is a good teacher who really cares. Towards the end she rushes and feels behind and things get hectic, but for the majority of the semester it's fun. Replayed worst test grade with final if you did better. I got 95% on first 3 tests, last ones hard.

Do all your homework test/quiz questions literally come from there (not all) others are very similar. Some of the examples she does in class also end up on tests. She answers your questions even if you may think they're stupid. Just an overall good teacher.

She's great! She's really helpful, if you need her help she makes herself available. Plus she's really funny and honest about everything. The only thing is that she can talk REALLY fast sometimes. The class isn't the easiest thing in the world, but take good notes, do the homework, and study the quizzes/tests and you should get a B.

McGraw is prob. the best math teacher I ever had in my life. She is clear, patient, goes over any h.w questions anyone has and her exams are extremely fair as long as you do the hw. Doesn't grade hw, but if you do all of it you don't even need to prepare for the exam. Weekly quizzes (not hard at all) and overall just a really down to earth person.

Omg, She is the best professor I've had in my life! I hate math before her!! I'm taking scholars math 2 right now, cant say the subject is easy, but I just love attending her classes. My broken English is terrible, but she is so patient, always listen and always willing to help!! I loveeeee her!

GREATEST Math teacher I've had. HATE math, but McGraw was so inspirational and down to earth. Very interested in her students and helping people out. She WANTS you to succeed. Not an easy course, but she is willing to help. Do the homeworks, ask questions and you'll pass! VERY fair, VERY cool, VERY real. moves a little quick, but willing to help!

If you want an A in McGraw's class: do your homework on a regular basis, ask any questions you want in class, do the practice tests. Not a hard class unless you don't keep up with the homework on your own. You might have a have a couple of sessions with a mathlab tutor, but McGraw will answer any question fully in clas even from previous chapters

She is the best Math professor that I've had in SMC. She is very helpful and does whatever it takes to help students succeed. The exams are fairly easy. Just attend the class and do in class projects and don't be afraid to ask questions. you'll do fine. I definitely recommend taking her class.

(Fall '13)- A real great and fun teacher. 4 tests, Final, and a Group Project (not too bad). Teaches what you need to know for the test and doesn't mind students asking questions. She doesn't trick you on tests. Tests aren't hard if you study or do Homework. For a Stats class, it was real fun. If you need this class, take her. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

highly recommend. took her scholars stats class and got an A. her test are based off of notes but she uses some questions from the book on the test so do your hw even though she doesn't collect it. she talks fast but is good at answering questions when you don't understand, uses great examples to real life to help you understand the material better

straight up awesome teacher. Extremely clear and provides many examples that aren't in the book. She does talk VERYY fast but you get used to it. Her tests are some of the fairest ones I've ever taken. No surprise's. If you take all notes and do HW easy A. I promise! I slacked off the first couple weeks and regret it now. Dr. McGraw is an awesome teacher. She's very direct in her approach. I took her for two classes consecutively. She is very direct in her teaching approach. Rather fast-paced, but if you don't understand something, then ask. She'll explain it to you. Do her homework plus the even questions because you're likely to see similar questions on the exams.

Loved Professor McGraw! She is amazing. I didn't think I would enjoy statistics as much as I did in her class. She is so clear and really wants her students to succeed. She is amazing. Take her if possible!

There's only one adjective to describe McGraw's teaching method; FAST. If you have a great attention span and can stay alert, then this class is for you. Her notes can be a little sloppy. It is ESSENTIAL to do every homework assignment if you plan on passing. This is definitely a "weed out" class and only the strong will survive.

She is one of the most fair Math professors at SMC. The tests that she gives are exactly like the problems on the book. She also drops the lowest quiz score and she uses the score on your final exam to replace your lowest exam score if the exam score is lower than your final exam. Students only complain about her class because they are lazy.

McGraw is legit. Her tests are extremely fair. If you can't get an A in her pre-calc class you can't get an A in any pre-calc class. She speaks quickly but is very clear. I would recommend her to anyone and very often do. It's not the easiest A but if you put the time in you'll be fine. I will be taking her for calc next semester. Can't wait!

I took her for Math 2 and loved her so I took her for 7 too. One of the fairest graders I've seen. Tests are very fair, so no surprises. Not many quizzes. Is a bit of a fast talker, but don't be afraid to ask questions. She is happy to answer them. Not an easy class, but if you do the home work and ask questions, an A is well within reach.

She is AMAZING! She really connects with all her students. I always used to do not so well in math and now I get A's in her exams. She knows how to explain Math and will explain it in every way possible until you understand it. Her stories are hilarious. I wish she was my Math teacher for 54! IF you study and do the homework you will get an A.

Professor McGraw is AMAZING!!!! I recommend to all of you for whoever takes Math 31, she's the best professor to take. Trust me she is an awesome professor. I assure you she could break the world record for fast speaking. Professor McGraw can talk and write very fast. Despite that I can assure you that she really cares about her students. She goes over every concept a couple of times, in tiny baby steps. Super fair grader, final replaces lowest score. Take her if you want to learn statistics!

Professor McGraw is very down-to-earth and friendly. She is extremely knowledgeable and explains the concepts in a clear and concise way. Every step of the processes are explained, including how to use the calculator. As long as you pay attention and try, you can ask her for help understanding anything!

I took Calc 1 with Professor McGraw and it was HARD. I got an A in the class so here are a few tips: Get tutoring in the Math Lab and individual tutoring on campus. Professor McGraw talks FAST so make sure to read and understand the chapter BEFORE she even teaches it in class! Overall a fair but tough grader.

She's easy going, sometimes not strict on dates, organized lectures+ good materials, she gets some of her test questions from the textbook+online hw : She stressing a lot on doing the book hw but its not really necessary if you understand the in class assignments and online hw: And she makes the test really easy no multiple choices

I thought this class was pretty standard. She's great because she's so straight forward and wants to help her students. You can totally see it. Honestly, this is no easy A class, you have to put in work.

If you have to take Statistics, take it with McGraw. Her lectures are long and she talks super fast, but she truly cares and is willing to help. She tries her best to answer all questions. She is very nice. 3 tests and a final. The final replaces your worst grade, so you can bomb a test and still be okay. The homework is due at the end of year.

She is one of the best math professors at SMC!!!!!! She is really helpful and her lectures are clear! It's not an easy-A class but if you study and do the HW you will be fine! Take her!!!!!!

Prof McGraw is super clear and will answer any question. She does move fast and missing a class (especially during winter) is basically shooting yourself in the foot. She makes an effort to really help her students and knows probably 80% of the class by name (which I find impressive for a non-discussion class). She's the best.

Professor McGraw is a great teacher! It's not a easy class, but if you do your homework (HW in the book is optional, but most test questions come from there so do it) you'll be good. I cannot urge you enough to go to her review sessions and/or office hours she's really helpful. There's no excuse not to get an A in her class. Take her!

Great lectures that made learning math fun! Gives great specific feedback on exams and hwk assignments that are your guides throughout the course. Do online hwk, class handouts, and you will succeed. McGraw is accessible outside of class and will help you. Math Workshops, math practice is key. Get class materials, read syllabi and plan accordingly

Professor McGraw has a fast teaching style but will give multiple examples to understand material. Online homework and in Class work is important for your grade do them to help on the exams as well. Exams can be tough but her accessibility in the math labs and in class can help you out. On exam days she'll go over any questions you may have.

McGraw is a phenomenal instructor as she is in tune frm start 2 finish. I took 50 + 54 crs under her guidance. Super helpful lab (that is optl) led by McGraw. Online hwk (mando) + bookwrk optl. She gives great food 4 thought w/ inspo impromptu speeches thru crse w/ real-world connections. Prof is as invlvd as u r; meaning she will help you succeed.

Yeah, she talks fast but It didn't bother me. And I am an international student.I took her during the winter. 3 tests, online homework, class works, and a group project. It is a stats class so there are some people in the class who barely passed algebra and there are some who already finished calc series. If you are one of the latter, it is easy A.

Prof. McGraw has a great way of explaining Stats, making it easier for those who struggle. I'm so glad I took her class after failing it the first time I took it. I really recommend her class if you're willing to put in the effort.

Professor McGraw is organized and tech-savvy. She is always more than happy to provide assistance for her students to gain understanding. She has made the transition to remote learning incredibly smooth and her canvas page is always up to date. She does talk a bit fast but will reiterate anything as needed. Don't skip and you'll be fine.

She's very dedicated to making sure we understand the material and she gives you ample opportunity to grasp the concepts. Mind you, don't expect to sit on your ass and receive an A without doing the work. You have to work for the A

I received a B for the class, The professor provides you with fill out notes as well. Make sure you do the home work since her exams mirror the Home work, Make sure you go to The math lab hours she offers, and her office hours as well. There's really no excuse for you not to walk away with at least a B in the class. Don't procrastinate!!

Just finished my fall semester with professor McGraw. Attending class is crucial if you want to pass as she follows the syllabus accurately. Go to office hours and you will see the difference on how you can pass this class. She goes fast so make sure pay attention to all her classes. Overall dont hesitate to take her class.

She creates lecture videos so you can learn the material and the weekly quizzes have unlimited attempts. There are three unit exams, the lowest score is dropped, and the final exam which are the hardest parts of the class but if you study and do the lessons you can definitely pass. She is nice and a good teacher.

I haven't been in a math class for 8 years, got a C- in my last high school math class, and have never been good at math but still managed to pass Prof. McGraw's stats course. Take her class if you can. She's super responsive and her lectures are amazing. Literally made a RMP account just to recommend this professor.

Took Math 54 online after getting a D previously. This is a hard course for anyone, but Professor McGraw has set up the course so the concepts build upon each other. After the first couple weeks she allows you to retake weekly quizzes until you get 100%. Dedicate yourself and you'll pass. She wants you to succeed.

This is my second time taking stats as I withdrew from another profesor. In comparison to the ones we have here at SMC she's pretty good but it is A LOT of work. Exams are proctored, weekly discussions boards, culmanative exam, Weekly quizzes (sometimes proctored), and a group project. Don't expect to pass if you don't study.

It is so much work, but your effort will pay off. This course is very calculator heavy so if you aren't good at math but are at memorization I highly suggest this professor as to get a high grade memorizing the functions on your calculator and what they mean will be essential. Overall great math professor in comparison to others we have here at SMC
