Completely unprofessional. If she's in a bad mood watch out! She makes many mistakes on the assingments and blows them off. But she will slam you if you make the smallest mistake. Her lab assingments are very vague and she doesn't help students very much. She wants her answer not the correct answer.

It's really sad. She said outloud that she likes to scare students. It's sad, but she's the type who enjoys putting others through misery. That's probably why she becamse a teacher, because she's a really bad teacher, and she knows it. She loves playing games trying to show that she knows something. Best advice is to stay far, far away.

If you're considering taking her class, I have one word of advice...DON'T! Absolutely horrible are the only words to describe her teaching styles and her personality. She honestly seems to enjoy making students miserable. She is very unprofessional. Do not look at her body when she is teaching, you will get dirty looks.

Unless you can do exactly what she wants do not take this class!

Ms Marsh is an EXTREMELY unprofessional teacher. I never got responses to the questions I had. In this course you MUST solve the questions HER way or you will get ZERO CREDIT even if you have a proper method and get the correct awnser. It is sad that many of her sections didn't get to do teacher evals. Random? I think not. She is also stuck up. :(

She is the worst teacher ever!!!! She will unmotivate you, she will put you down....She is horrible and I hope you have a heart next semster!!!

She spends the first 20 minutes of lecture talking about her life story, then rushes through the material quickly because she wasted time. Her attitude toward everything is, don't like this person..., i don't like this... acts of whining excessively. Then she will grade like shes out to fail you. Exams average 50 -60 percent as a class.

Worst teacher ever.

One of the toughest teacher that I have ever had. It becomes ridiculous sometimes when she takes point out of the tests/labs/ homeworks for really minor errors. She explains the materials well, but that doesn't help at all when the test and the quizzes are hard, or when she is a tough grader. I don't recommend taking her class because It is j pain.

She is ridiculous and is not fair at all. She expects everyone to be perfect and everything has to be done her way or no way at all. She doesn't realize people have other obligations and responsibilities. It's way too hard for a gen ed class for no reason. Avoid her at all costs

Professor Marsh expressed the first day of class that her Rate my Professor rating was low. Unfortunately, this rating was reflective. In short, Marsh provides adequate lecture presentations, yet is extremely finicky about formatting for grading. Most frustrating, she often forgot assignments and due dates, yet she isn't graded on her own mistakes

WORST PROFESSOR EVER���� General physics and her physics are two totally different thing. She won't grade your work unless its done in her way. I would suggest Harper to provide 1 credit hour class in the Freshman year (Specific Techniques - 101) just for her class because you will get less points for details compare to your Physics-201 concepts.

Her homework, teaching method, and tests are completely different than any other physics prof at the school. Her grading policy is abysmal. Using the right paper is worth more than right answers. I had already passed the class at a different school and was just taking it again for a refresher, but I ended up being more confused than when I started.

Ms. Marsh will not accept ANY variations of the methods presented in class, no matter how correct they are. Do not take this professor unless you enjoy being talked down to and losing points when you don't fit inside her cookie cutter. I was told by another PHY201 professor that "It's her way or the highway". Very harsh grader.

Marsh refuses to treat students with respect. Speeding through lectures days prior to examination, or having excessive amounts of due dates sprinkled through the semester. A large percentage of the grades March collects are out of 4points, miss one? you're down to a 75%. Marsh desnt care if the student has any outside responsibilities AVOID MARSH!

Her idea of final review is overloading the student with questions with no answers and no explanations. WHAT A JOKE. Dont take her, shes a horrible person. You will work 10x harder than she will ever in this class. She sits at her desk doing other things while you frantically try to learn by yourself.

By far the worst teacher I had to spent a semester with. She doesn't care about your life. I highly suggest you to not take her class. No wonder why everyone hates her.

There are no clear guidelines as to when work is done. She is unorganized and frequently loses work. Spends the beginning of class talking about her personal life. A poor teacher overall.

Took her class online and she is honestly the hardest grader I have ever seen. If things are not done her way, you get minus ten points off right there. Sends many passive aggressive emails and doesn't provide good constructive criticism. I would suggest not taking her class.

Marsh doesn't care about you. She knows that this class is hard but makes it even harder, which means that you have to study 20x harder for every single assigment. All she talks about is herself and her stuff. No clear guidelines, unorgazied person. Labs are not explained as a teacher it her responsibility to teach us but she doesn't.

Professor Marsh is the harshest grader I have ever seen and I was a student who received a cumulative 4.0 GPA in all Honors/AP classes in high school. DO NOT take her. She plays a game of how many students she can have drop her class. On the outside, she appears nice and kind, but on the inside, she is unhinged.

I took this class over the summer to complete my prerequisite requirement for classes in the fall. Mrs. Marsh is by far the worst professor I have had to deal with so far. If you need to take a class at Harper beware, and get your money back!

If I were restricted to say two things about this course with Professor Marsh it would unnecessarily difficult. The immense amount of harsh grading would make even the most composed individuals bang their skull against an anvil until they leveled up their blacksmithing . All the while students are opting out for something more manageable elsewhere

Just don't take her class. From the moment you do, you are automatically set up for failure. Find someone else, and if nobody else is available, you are better set by not taking the class. Very harsh grader and is nitpicky about everything. Would not recommend....

Do not take her class. She makes this class unnecessarily difficult. Even if you used the right formula and got the correct answer, if you have not done the calculation exactly how she said you will get a zero point.

Don't take this class. Every week there will be 3 assignments + 3 days of lecture. You almost have to abandon other classes in order to pass this class (You have to study at least 16 hours a week to pass this class!). Also, you have to do everything just how she wants it to be done, or else it will be automatically0 (even if answer is correct).

She is horrible. When you ask her questions, she gets annoyed with you and makes you feel stupid. Tests are nothing like what is covered in class. She sets you up for failure, and probably laughs about it when you finally give up. Ill be taking this class as a transfer somewhere else as she is the only option at harper during COVID.

During the 90 minutes lecture, she explains 2 or 3 simplest problems, and expects you to solve 15 on the exam, none of them covered in the class, with usually more than 2 unknowns. Also demands her vector table method just because it makes it easier for her to grade it, but those take so much more time and there are easier ways to solve problems.

"Many of you have asked what you need to do to improve your grade or get a passing grade. There are really two things we can recommend: practice more and stop procrastinating. Neither one of these is easy, but both work." -Marsh 1st exam avg - 55% 2nd exam avg - 60% I think this speaks for itself. Marsh, do better.

Her exams are impossible, no matter how much you study, you will never have enough time to finish everything. With each exam, more problems are added, and they are just getting more complicated. She wants her students to fail obviously, I wish I had dropped this class at the beginning instead of wasting my time studying and ruining my other grades.

Horrible teacher. you will regret taking her.

Even though I have been attending all of her classes, I am still struggling with the class so bad. The exercise she gave in class are okay, but when it comes to the exam your mind will be empty because it feels like everything new to you. I hope that I passed this class because you will see her in every semester if the system is online

Physics is already a hard class. When you take it with Marsh, it becomes ten times harder. She is an extremely harsh grader, and takes off too many points for minor things. She says she only cares if your work is correct, but that is a lie. Problems done in class are nothing like the test. She isn't awful, but if there is another prof, take that.

Worst Professor at Harper. Inconsistent grader, buddy and I did the HW together so our work was identical. 2 different grades were given. Don't bother with the textbook because if it isn't her method it's a 0. Exams are nothing like the in-class examples. I used to love Physics, this woman successfully killed that with her horrible nature.

I WOULD recommend not to take Mrs marsh. She makes it look Physics WAAYYYY HARDER. She is a tough grader. Her tests are not like her lectures. Even if you study everyday you will not score good in her TEST.

I was in a merger with Dr. D and Marsh. Horrible teachers. You will struggle a lot in tests because they are nothing like lectures. They rely on SI's a lot which means I don't care about you. All test averages were 45-50% which pretty much sums up everything. If you go and ask her about anything after the test she will start the blame game.

Marsh the GPA wrecker. No respect for teachers like her. She does not care about you or your goals and aspirations in life. You might be taking 4 other rigorous classes, working a full time job, have children, she will not care.

This was by far the worst class I have ever taken in college. Completely ruined my GPA and making me regret not taking a couple other classes to graduate on time. Now I am forced to take two summer classes to satisfy my requirements. Will never take again. If you can take this course at another school, PLEASE, DO IT.

If you have to take Ms. Marshs class I am here to say, I am SO sorry. You will go through literal hell. I always try to stay positive but this woman will make you work your butt off for a solid C. If you can take this class somewhere else DO IT. If you cant, be prepared to have the worst semester ever and dont take more than 2 other classes.

I had an awful semester with Prof Marsh. She makes you feel dumb when asking a question and really showed favoritism towards some students. The exams were always different from the examples done in class and it was very difficult to finish some exams because of time limits. I worked extremely hard and ended with a B so I'm just glad it's over...

On the test, you have to do exactly the way she does it or else she won't give you credit for it. She is so rude and condescending to her students I'm surprised she even chose to be a teacher. It is very hard asking for help because she belittles you and makes you feel so stupid. The questions on the test are way harder than what she teaches you.

Take the class next semester or take summer class if you have to. Avoid her at all costs.

Her hobby is flunking her students.

Her grading makes absolutely no sense. There was never a rubric mentioned and then all of a sudden you get your grade back and there is a rubric filled out with all these things she was grading you off of which she failed to mention!!! You may feel like you've put 110% into an assignment but she will always find a way to take off points.

You have to solve every problem her way which is time consuming. I didn't finish multiple exams because I took so long making sure I was doing it her way and including everything she wanted, and she still took lots of points off for something small like not verbally writing out on the side that you took the antiderivative of the equation.

Nothing she teaches during lecture shows up on the homeworks. She mentions using flying equations but that doesn't help since her tests are nothing like those problems. The content in this class is not hard, she just makes it hard with her unreachable standards. This class made me stressed 24/7 because my grade was so fragile.

Terrible professor making my life a living hell if you want to keep your sanity do not take this professor. Insane amounts of work and the Exams are insanely hard. Dont even attempt taking this class.

I really wanted to give Professor Marsh the benefit of the doubt because she is very kind and has a big heart. HOWEVER, she creates her own exams that are impossible to pass, and they have nothing to do with the material covered and they almost seem like trick questions?

She said she expects 16 hours of studying out side of lectures and lab time every week just for you to get a C in this class. No one has so much free time and we also take other classes at the SAME TIME. Marsh is a terrible professor i dont know how she has not been fired yet. She doesn't curve her exams are they're straight dog water. Very tough grader, takes off credit for anything. You can't use methods she doesn't teach even if you get the right answer. If you want to keep your sanity do not take this professor. She will seem friendly and nice but turns into a demon when she's grading.

everyone in this class has PTSD this is a community college this is not a IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL every one of my peers in universities say their classes are easier than this. Harper needs to take action and fire the terrible professors in their institution.

Half the students dropped this course because they were going to fail. The class average grade was a 70% before they dropped and the average was even a 65% at one point. This professor is the bane of physics and will make you hate school more than you already do. She thrives from crushing our souls and flunking students. Do not take this professor

After watching every video lecture, doing every assignment, every lab and asking boatloads of questions I still had no choice but to drop. Material does not reflect exams at all, even when using methods shown in class. Super disappointed and a waste of a semester.

This Professor might have been kind but reflected the opposite on her exams and quizzes. She doesn't curve any tests or quizzes, everything on the tests sounds like a trick question and barely goes over any of the material that will be on the exams. Good luck trying to receive an A in this class. I would highly advise looking for other instructors.

Don't take her class. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone even if they are stuck with her. She definitely makes you feel hated in the classroom...

The professor is a complete joke. Harper allows you to take Marsh and Damcott. They are work-sisters in physics but Marsh in particular has a terrible attitude. The exams don't have any resemblance to the things you study. Take the class elsewhere or with Damcott .The material doesn't need to be this difficult but they make it hard on purpose.

Nice lady however, her lectures did not help at all and would often leave me confused more often than help. Physics is a tough course already, and she did not make it any easier with how she would teach the class. There would be a lot of pre-lab material to go over in a short amount of time that made it difficult to keep up with the pace.

If you have taken any higher level of physics, like AP Physics C in high school, don't take this professor. You are probably smarter than her. Collete Marsh is unable to comprehend various ways of solving the problems she assigns and will not give any credit if you solve it in a different way. Her course isn't about learning, it's about her way.

If you love physics be prepared—it's not the subject that's hard; it's the way it's being taught here. She enforces arbitrary rules, penalizes for not using her exact method, skips explaining derivations, and expects 18+ hrs/week outside of labs, lectures, and homework—just to get a C per her syllabus. Take Damcott, she is an actual physicist.

The class itself is not bad at all she just makes it harder than it needs to be. Her grading is so nitpicky and she takes points off for the smallest things ever.

Physics 1 is not a hard course, but trying to adhere to her unknown grading criteria is the challenge. Labs are almost impossible to get 100% on due to her ability to find the most irrelevant errors within the document, nothing to do with physics but with her pleasure in making students life more difficult.

Take this class if you want to punish yourself.

She somehow thinks she can force students to stay in class even after they have completed their work. Straight dictator.

She is a nice person but that's her only good characteristic. Her grading is completely unfair as she makes up her own grading criteria while she grades your paper.

I have taken this class now twice if I end up failing again, I am changing my major and dropping out. This teacher has been so bad I have questioned more about if I should drop in her class then any other combined. I have spent 40+ hours a week studying and I still feel like I am drowning.

This teacher and class made me start going to my therapist more often. I went for help and Collette marsh instead of offering helped asked if I was mentally disabled before correcting if I had a IEP. My lab partner had an IEP and I learned she threaten to not allow students to use it if they did not submit the request within 12 hours.

All you need to do here is this: do ANYTHING but take her class. If you are wondering whether the reviews are accurate, take her class and find out for yourself. She isnt even just a bad teacher, she is simply a human you do not want to be around.
