i don't need to tell you she's awesome, read the other reviews. a lot of workbook use but it helped, plus she walks around during in-class assignments and helps out. videos are hilarious, and you can use a dictionary on the exams. one of her TA's is a prudy grandma, but she's not teaching. take her, pass the tests and you'll be fine.

The BEST Spanish class I have taken! Besides teaching grammar (she literally wrote the book on it) Dr. K immerses you in the culture and history of Spanish speaking countries. Though I have studied Spanish for less than 1 year understood Dr. K perfectly. The Spanish language comes from Spain. Slight differences in pronunciation are easily mastered.

The best prof I have ever had. I took the class during summer, so the workload was pretty significant. However, I must say that she made the class fun, she's a great communicator and best of all I feel like I walked away from the class with a HUGE improvement in my Spanish. she is verrry very nice and sweet and cares about her students. however the class is definitely not easy unless you know spanish already. she only speaks in spanish from day one and she expects you to know what she's talking about. she spends a lot of time covering culture and different spanish speaking countries and less on the actual vocabulary. youre also expected to do atleast 16 hours in the lab.

Professor Kihyet is an amazing woman & the best Spanish teacher I've ever had! I learned so much throughout the semester and loved her class. She is extremely supportive and very willing to assist if you have any trouble understanding. Attend every class, participate & expect a full workload, being as it is a 5-unit foreign language class.

She is genuine and brilliant and can answer any question you have. She knows the material backwards and forwards and can help you to know and love the Spanish culture and language. She will give you a good amount of homework but it is always the perfect assignment to help you remember what you need to know. She is the most wonderful teacher!!!!!!!!

Professor Kihyet is my favorite professor at Saddleback. She is super sweet and caring towards her students. She offers great feedback on her assignments. I wish she could teach Spanish 4 and beyond. Her lectures are interesting and the atmosphere in the class is enjoyable. She is very enthusiastic about her teaching.

Profesora Kihyet is literally the best professor at Saddleback! She always has interesting and entertaining lectures and answers any questions you may have. She offers a lot of extra credit which I suggest doing if you struggle with test taking. You need to participate because not only do you get points for it but you also learn the material.

Shes definitely the sweetest professor Ive ever had. I learned so much in her class and I had a very good time learning a third language with her.

She's nice and helpful, always answers questions. Assigns homework every day but it's short, easy, and necessary. Do all your homework and you get an easy A. Lots of in class activities, mostly in groups or with a partner, which are both helpful and a chance to socialize. Very enjoyable class and you have a good basic knowledge of Spanish.

Best Professor I have ever had! This class is very difficult especially with no Spanish knowledge. But she makes it so fun and interactive it really drills the info into your brain. Do ALL the homework. Tests are challenging. Group activities every day. She really does want everyone to pass and learn. If you put forth good effort, you will pass.

Super sweet woman. Really just tries to have fun with the class. She gives extra credit just for participating and if you visit the LRC 3 times you get a free test's worth of extra credit. Classes mostly involve writing out things on the white board in groups or doing little worksheets. If youre nice to her, she'll round your grade up like me

She is so sweet, and truly wants the best for all students. However, I took span 2, and found it extreamly difficult and really fast paced. I needed a tutor and I never went and that was my main issue. All in all, she is great so long as you bring your book, DO YOUR HW! and PARTICIPATE!!

I'm a 5th year engineering student at UCI and needed to take this class to fulfill my language requirement. She is seriously one of the nicest, best professors I've ever had, making a class I thought I would despise into a very enjoyable one. There is a lot of hw, but it is very helpful if you do it. Participation matters, but don't stress about it

My dad and I are enrolled in this class. To be a good teacher, you have to be good at managing change. When things change, Connie can change with them. She wont make you feel bad for mistakes. She believes in her work and your success on an emotional level. She's one of the best teachers I've ever had. Be prepared to fall in love with Spanish.

If you don't take her class you're just failing yourself. I had her for Spanish 1 and 2 and you will not find a better teacher who makes class enjoyable. Worried about your grade? This class was so much fun , we learned an array of interesting material that I was actually able to apply outside of the classroom while speaking Spanish. Professor Kihyet is amazing , and you won't find a more caring teacher on campus.

Professora is a wonderful professor, to say the least, she has not only a love for teaching, but her students. I came into Spanish1H nervous and I left falling in love with the language & the culture. I enjoyed her classes so much I continued to take her classes up to Spanish 3. To this day she is the best professor I have ever had.

Great teacher, very respected, and always wants to help you out. Offers loads of EC and I would recommend doing the HW as it helps when it comes to tests. Doesn't upload anything on canvas, but trust me, it's for the best. Participation gets you on good terms with her and she may give you some leniency on tests. 10/10

Profesora is amazing! This class requires a lot of participation. She is always willing to help her students. There are no grades that are posted throughout the semester. Not really sure how the grading in this class works. If you participate and understand the information then you will do well in this class!

Professor Kihyet is a good professor at Saddleback and really cares about her students. Ive learned much more Spanish in one semester than I have in 2 years in high school. She doesnt like talking during class including helping other students which is the only draw back. Other than that, I highly recommend her!

I got an A in this class by participating, doing all of the homework, and taking advantage of the abundant extra credit opportunities. I hadn't taken Spanish in 2 years and was extremely behind. Kihyet is there for any questions and even after class to help if needed. She has her favorites - the ones who participate a lot so be one of those people!

Professor Kihyet is a real gem! She genuinely loves her students and just wants you to learn. She really went out of her way to be as helpful as possible to me and gives so much extra credit. Best advice is to go to class and be respectful, anything she covers will be on the test.

Excellent professor. Well educated, explains things clearly, and wants you to learn and participate. The one thing I didn't like was that her notes weren't that neat and she never posted grades. Also, if I were not familiar with the grammar concepts she taught, I would not have understood them that clearly.

She's an angel sent from above. Honestly, this little box nor words themselves could begin to adequately describe Profesora Kihyet. Genuinely cares tremendously about teaching & her students. It's impossible to fail. You have awesome group projects throughout the semester, tests are beyond easy and she brings food and tea to eat/drink. Take her.

I had Professor Kihyet for the Spring semester, and it was the most significant Spanish class you'll ever take. So, I retook her for the SPAN2H. You'll never come across a teacher whose devoted, loving, and caring as she is. Not only did we get to eat, but we drank tea too! She makes learning Spanish exciting. I highly recommend her. She really cares about her students and wants them to succeed. She is so sweet, fun, and is not the hardest grader. If you try, meaning participating and doing majority of the assignments -exams do not require a lot of studying, you will easily pass. She gives a lot of extra credit and group projects. There is a lot of homework but it is very easy.

In addition to my other post, my only complaint is that she picks on the same students for participation. So if you want participation points you will need to raise your hand and make it aware that you want to share. Some students like this so that can be good thing. She is so caring and a pretty easy teacher. Take her she's the best!

I took Prof Kihyet for Spanish 1 and 2 and she is AMAZING! She is now someone that I consider as a friend because we grew close during the two classes I took. The kindest professor ever! Really cares about her students, and it's clear she loves teaching and discussing Spanish culture (which is what this class focuses most on). There are many assignments, but they're quite interesting and not too difficult. Her lectures are always fun and engaging - make sure you attend and participate!

What good thing can I not say about Professor Kihyet? TAKE HER. Caring, SO genuine. She LOVES to teach and will go above and beyond to make sure you get the grade you want while mastering the content of the course. I took Span 1 and Span 2H. You WILL learn. 100% worth your time. Prof. Kihyet lives and teaches with such exuding passion for the Spanish culture and language. She has cares for all her students and will help w raising grades through extra credit and other things if you are willing to put in the effort/work. Though I spent hours working for her class, it was extremely rewarding. She is truly inspiring.

Profesora Kihyet is one of the best Spanish professors I have ever had in my life. She was very understanding and caring of any situation that came up during the semester. You have to be prepared for her class, read the texts, watch the movies, and participate! She always allows you to correct your written assignments, and there are a lot.

BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!!! She has so much wisdom, and really explains the content. She cares about students success, responds to emails promptly and offers an abundance of extra credit. Her teaching style was really beneficial in making sure we knew what we were doing instead of just expecting us to "get it". Her class is both lively and informative

Professor Kihyet was amazing! She made Spanish very easy to learn. She assigned 2-4 assignments a week, but all were very easy. She was so easy to reach outside of class and wants you to learn Spanish. She does have a textbook that we have to use for class, but I have never opened it. Her class is an Easy A as long as you do the work!

Kihyet is considerate and assigns a reasonable workload for a 5-unit class. She grades based on accuracy instead of completion/effort & gives good feedback. There is a good variety of assignments with good resources that are helpful in learning. The setting of the class works very well asynchronously and allows you to work it into your schedule.

I really enjoyed taking Mrs. Kihyet's course over the Spring 2022 semester. She is always willing to help and gives amazing feedback on graded homework assignments. I highly recommend her course especially if you know Spanish prior to her course, it is straightforward and my Spanish speaking skills have progressed much more because of her course.

Professor Kihyet has super fun assignments. I took Spanish in high school but needed to take a language at a college to transfer, so she made the class I was dreading fun. I learned so much about Spanish culture and the various Spanish countries. I enjoyed her class so much I am taking her span 2 class next semester.

Got a D trying Span 2 over summer. 16 week semester was much more doable & I got an A in Fall. Kind of a lot of weekly work but I just needed to learn time management for the workload. Textbook + access code ($$), quizzes, homework, tests, movie reflections, vocab/grammar assignments. She is very understanding & kind. Responds fast too.

Felt like an 8-week course even though it was the full semester. Connect assignments on vocab/grammar, movie reflections, discussions, quizzes, and a writing assignment almost every week. Some has to be only in Spanish some can be in English. It felt more of a Spanish history class than anything else. Recordings of speaking Spanish are due too.

Professor Kihyet is VERY nice and VERY helpful if you need help. I did 16 weeks Spanish 1 and it was sooooo much work each week. Not particularly difficult but very time consuming.

Professor Kihyet is a very lovely instructor and is very understanding. This course was not an easy course because of the extremely heavy and sometimes exhausting workload. The first class session was completely full with around 30 students but by the last class session there were only around 9 of us. I learned a lot and am glad I took this course.

She is absolutely amazing! I sent her multiple email asking questions and she always gets back in less than 2 days. Her course is a lot of writing, but you learn way more by constructing sentences than by just conjugating or knowing the vocabulary. Make sure to take notes on the videos and have fun learning about all the Spanish-speaking cultures!

I'll be honest the content is harder that a lot of AP Spanish. However, since its online, the difficulty doesn't matter since you can use google translate(GT). The hard part is the amount of coursework and GT doesn't help with some concepts like pronumbres. But anyone can get an A without learning too much and just spending time.

I love this Prof. She is really amazing and caring. I would recommend taking her over summer online course! She provides great content! Highly recommend!

Kihyet was a queen. I loved taking from her, she was one of my favorite teachers I had at Saddleback. The course was pretty difficult for me but the work was fair and she was so nice. She gave such good feedback and she was one of those teachers who seemed to really want to help her students learn. Take her class if it's not already full!!

Professor Kihyet is the sweetest and truly wants her students to succeed in learning Spanish. There is a good amount of homework, usually discussion boards and writing assignments, but there are so many resources and ways to succeed in the class. She offers extra credit for her online classes if you participate in the Zoom meetings.

Lots of assignments, but she genuinely cares about each student's success. Participation = xtra credit to your midterm/final. As long as you communicate with her, she'll usually accept late work for full credit. Near the end of the year, I fell a bit behind, and she worked with me to make sure my grade stayed at an A. Sweetest professor I've had!

Professora Kihyet was amazing! She is absolutely adorable, and made spanish very easy to learn. The pronunciation activities were a bit nerve wracking at first, but she is amazing and provided videos on the correct pronunciation of words and including pictures in those videos. She is a very sweet lady, and one of my favorite professors here!

She is a good professor, but make sure that you are actually commited to learning because she can be a tough grader if you make any small mistakes.
