Its impossible to understand what shes saying, her accent is terrible. 98% of her lectures are off topic. Attendance is mandatory otherwise you loose a lot of marks, but once you get to the lecture you wont understand her at all. Youll have to rely on the book and lecture slides, the recordings wont help because its impossible to decipher.

Connie is caring, kind. She should make the course more concise, coherent, less confusing. Too many assignments; asks you to figure out how to complete them. Lecture notes are confusing; listen to her and note what she refers to as "important". Why do we need lectures when the textbook is already so comprehensive? STRICT deadlines :( Love her cats!

Connie was super lovely, however, she was the most disorganized prof I have ever had and this made the course way more challenging than it should ever be. I had no idea when things were due because she seemingly picked random dates off a calendar. Projects were due on days that we didn't have lectures or tutorials and late projects get a zero.

Midterm: Solely memorization Final (open book): Half MC Half Short Answer On the last day of lectures she literally tells you the kind of questions shes going to ask on the short answer. One piece advice I can give for this class is to understand the purpose and why &how everything connects together since Short A is about applying the concepts.

Unorganized lectures, course structure, and marking. Will often not read slides and tell students to read them because reading the slides "are not worth her time." Overall bad prof in all ways if you can avoid her do it, but if not you'll just have a bad experience.

Overall bad prof. Lectures have no connections with each other, she does not seem to care about students and their grades, and the heavy Chinese accent makes all of it even worse (Still wonder how an international student like myself can speak better English than the prof). Avoid at all costs.

I hated this course when I was in it, but the material is interesting and useful for other business courses. While Connie's individual lectures can be hard to understand, she tries to connect everything together - understanding these connections is the key to succeeding. The assignments are straightforward. She allows notes during the final.

The professor is clearly inadequate for the course and needs extra brushing up on IT standards. She uses html buttons with COMIC SANS that redirect to other buttons in the canvas page (aka useless) Her lectures are worthless, just knowing how to use a computer is enough to pass this class. Connie is not a good professor. BUT she is the only one that teaches this course so i will give advice. Read the textbook and memorize the slides for midterm. Final is all application which she gives examples of questions int he second half of the semester. She is very all over the place in her lectures. Wouldn't reccommend if you have a choice.

Worst professor at Beedie. I couldn't understand anything in the lecture, she didn't explain concepts just stated them and has very, very boring lectures, like everyone stopped showing up 2 weeks in. She complains about ratings like these in lecture as well, blaming the students instead of reflecting on what she can improve on. CMON CONNIE.

People who leave reviews don't attend the lectures. You can't expect high grades without making any effort. She doesn't go through the slides as they mainly contain definitions. She focuses on important topics that usually aren't on the slides, which she usually asks on the exams. Attend the lectures and actually listen to what she's saying.

Honestly Connie isn't as bad as people say. You can tell she is passionate about teaching but there is room for improvement. She made the class interactive and brought candy to class. She also tells you what to focus on for studying for the final. You just have to listen to her and attend lecture daily. Material can be dry but that's not on her.

If your looking for a class with zero grading criteria, a sassy & unhelpful prof this is the class for you. She doesn't do any teaching in class as she has a reverse class teaching style... I don't mind except for the fact the time in class isn't used well. She designates work to her TA's who aren't upto date with her teachings (or lack thereof).

No clear grading criteria. Reverse lectures, which is fine. She rambles about a lot of nonsense during her lectures so I don't get the point of them. She's condescending and doesn't explain herself clearly. Essentially a self taught class with a grump lady rambling through it. Unfortunately it is a requirement for some concentrations.

It seems like most BBA students will end up with Connie as their prof at some point in their degree, which is unfortunate. Connie would frequently assign lengthy presentations and assignments that were not graded, but had to be done to a certain standard because they would be presented in front of your clients whom you are doing the project for.

She gives out participation bonus marks, and hints to answers on midterm/final, so consider attending each lecture
