Dry humor, good teacher though
dry as anything...class is a waste of time..but i got an A
Definitely not for those who have trouble staying awake in class, but the class itself isn't too hard and all the notes are on-line so going to class every time isn't necessary
Boring, not helpful at all,if you don't have to take her for anything, then don't.
Statistics is hard and I got very far behind. Dr. Meinholdt has coffee hours every week and she spent lots of extra time helpint be catch up with work and actually passed the class. She was great!
I have taken Dr. Meindholt for a few classes. She is very understanding and willing to work with students to clarify any confusing concepts. Some of the classes are a bit difficult, but she really cares about the students and will do anything to help.
boring
bring a pillow to this class, it a good nap time...
She keeps her notes on the web, so you don't need to write much in class. Her tests are easy if you skim through the book and the notes.
Difficult material but she tries to help alot.
She seemed to find a way to make fun of every kind of person but black americans. I am sure if we did not have two black americans in this class she would have made fun of them. I am both appaulled and disappointed about taking this class.
Seems to really know what she's talking about and keeps her notes on the web, which is very helpful.
Femenist-does not like male students-demasculates them with belittiling remarks. God forbid you raise your hand and get the wrong answer! Read the book, b/c listening to her lecture is like swallowing sand - very dry
Classes are very boring.
Boring, boring, boring. This broad sucks the big one. Run while you still can.
OMG this was the worst class I have taken. Very unaccepting of opinions other that her own. Lecture is very boring and doesn't increase students understanding on the topic. I echo a previous rating.... RUN ... while you still can!!
Dr. Meinholdt is a great prof! She is clearly a feminist, but she listens to people, even if she doesn't agree with their opinions. Her class is hard, but its a 300 level, what do you expect? My only problem with this class is all the whiny CJ students.
I think she is by far the worst professor I have had during my 4 years, she is very lazy, critical, and unclear on what she expects. I have not learned anything. She definately does not like CJ students. This class is a waste of time and money, take someone else! The class is boring!
Boo hoo CJ majors. You are all lazy whiners.

You really have to work hard to get an A in this class. Professor Meinhold is friendly and always there to help. But she really has difficult tests and papers to turn in.
Ok this lady is a little OFF... She kinda confused me.. ok Confused me A LOT! She seems like a nice enough lady.. Wouldn't take her class again if i had to. But if you're willing to study and read the book then go for it !
OMG, DO NOT TAKE HER!!! Yes, she's fairly nice...but wow, her tests are probably the most difficult tests imaginable for the material she covers. And yes, lectures are B-O-R-I-N-G!!! Compared to my roomate who has a different teacher, I hear that my teacher (Meinholdt) is deffinately not the best.
This woman CAN. NOT. TEACH. She doesn't teach us anything, goes off on tangents and contrdicts herself. She may be smart, but she can't teach. Had her for 325, and thought she was boring, but not bad. This class totally changed my mind. And seriously, how did she get her PhD when she can't spell?!
Knows her stuff but lectures all hour which makes things dull, material is unclear and tests dont always have to do with what you learned.
Get a good nights sleep if you plan on staying awake. Very easy test, especially when you convince her to let you use your book.
took class during the summer. although lectures were boring, she's the was one of the easing professors I've had.. would most definitelyl take another psych class she teaches
Easy 300level A even for nonPsyc. majors

Yes she can be boring, but she sends all of her powerpoints right to your email ahead of time, so you don't even have to take notes. I never read the book just studied off of the powerpoints and went to class and got an A.
Okay everyone. lets taker 'er easy here. Meinholdt tries. However, she fails in keeping her points clear, staying on subject, being objective, allowing for input from her students, creating constructive criticisms, using her resources (at all) and to facilitate the interest from her students in what she is teaching. I do not enjoy her classes.
Never uses handouts, lectures are unclear, staggered, and repetitive. BUT! She is a very smart woman and if you ever get a chance to sit down with her, she'll have an awesome coversation with you! All the rumors are true, however, if you are not a Psyc. major her classes are not that interesting.

Excellent!
holy crap this class was boring. I don't miss many classes usually but I couldn't stand going to this one. It was pretty easy if you outline every chapter but that takes forever. I did it and did well but I also had high school psychology and had previous knowledge about lots of the subjects- all I have to say is: BORING.
Really nice and smart lady, but horribly boring teacher. She would be better as an administrator or researcher. Lectures put you to sleep.
Dr.Meinholdt is pretty boring with her lectures and seems to lecture about nothing at all in the beginning, but gets better as the semester progresses. She lets you decide a lot of things like how the test should be...we ended up with take-home essay exams...not too shabby!
Take her if you don't want to study extremely hard, but want to learn overall. All the test are right out of the book. You have to elaborate on some things with multiple choice questions, but just take the examples out of the book and make them your own through editing and you will be fine.
Took her Psyc Stats class and did well, only because I took stats before for math. She is boring and does not teach. You better read read read. Remember if you have to take her and this happens to you.....you get to evaluate her performance at the end of the semester. :) Nothing but love baby..
easy teacher just go to her with a good sob story and she will let you make up any assignments. had for a lot classes they are the same.
easy teacher just go to her with a good sob story and she will let you make up any assignments. had for a lot classes they are the same.
Very nice woman, but her class stinks. She gets off topic very easily and doesn't explain things very well. She makes a lot of grading errors too. Be prepared to study a lot and ask the tutor for help.
She is a nice person but she is very boring, She never gets papers graded when she tells you, you never know what grade your getting in her class unless you ask her, then she will tell you that she left her grades at home. She uses powerpoint, and usually talks about nothing at all really. Her tests are WAY confusing. Dont take her class!
Kind of a boring teacher...doesnt really make class interesting. Just take notes and read the chapters and you will do fine.
She is very unstructured in this class. She tries to teach math with power points, which doesn't do anything. Never puts examples on the board unless we beg her to. I wouldn't recommend her. You must teach yourself in this class or you will go no where.
not a goood teacher. She rushed though power points and laft the reading to u. if u liek to read long text books thats fine but personally i would rather get the jist of a chapter by the proff telling me what i should have learned. i wouldnt reccomend her if u can get another proff to fit in ur schedule.
She's really nice and you don't have to go to lecture, but you get extra credit for going. Listen in lecture and take notes and read the chapters and you will pass the class just fine. You could even just read the book and look at the powerpoints online and show up for the test and pass. Boring class, all powerpoint, but not that hard.
Class was actually kind of fun. She likes to involve the class (usually to pick on students, which can be funny). Pretty easy tests. When she says "measure" you will want to kill yourself, lol
I got an A- but I thought it was tough, soooo boring, she dims the lights so its definitely a recipe for sleep...take notes and study them good, gives extra credit at times
I read some of the comments.. Sure, lecture is boring, but for a 300 level class, the tests couldn't be easier. Just read the chapters and know definitions and important experiments.
Lectures for most of class period, can be boring at times. Class is designed with 4 tests and a final paper. Her tests can be worded a little funky sometimes making it a little harder to answer. Have to read the chapters and understand the main points pretty well. I read and then reread the chapters and received B's on most my tests
Terrible teacher!! no structure no plans. goes into semester unclear. off topic all the time. usually has no point. Don't need to go to class to learn just read the book and ignore her!!!
I highly suggest that you do not take a class with this professor. She will laugh at you and speak in a condescending manner to you when you ask a question. She doesnt teach well and you will not learn much. I expected more for money.
The professor is nice and understanding. Leactures are boring and pointless to go to. Reading the chapters in the book is how you will pass her exams. Also she posts study guides which help. Read the chapters and you should be good. Exams can be worded weirdly so make sure you know your stuff.
She is very nice, but very scatter brained. Her tests are scenario questions she makes up and its hard to make sense of it. I feel like ive hardly learned anything from her or this class. I wouldnt take her unless you have to.
DO NOT TAKE! I am a college A student but her class is hard, her exams are hard and there is a lot of reading. She barley goes over anything that is on the exam in class you have to read IN DEPTH to know anything on the exam.
Class was to intense for an intro to psychology. She was not helpful and very condescending to some of the students.
Very dark, strange sense of humor. Really dry class. But if you read the textbook and do the practice quizzes on the textbook companion site, you're likely to do well on all the tests. Not much other homework, either.
Professor Meinholdt goes over everything you will need to know for the exam in class. You will still need to read the book though to reinforce everything she tells you. There are very few homework assignments which is nice for a college course. As long as you study properly it is easy to ace the exams.
All she does in class is blabber about nothing and then gives you an outline for the test. Seems easy until you read the test and it is 10x more in detail than anything you ever went over.
If you like to study ALOT then this is the class for you! Lectures are quite boring but she does not do attendance. Can be helpful sometimes to go but she only covers like half of the stuff you need to know for the tests. Test questions are all like short story questions and can be pretty confusing. I recommend trying to get a different professor.
Would never take her again. only class I've ever had to drop. She tries to use power points to teach this class which doesn't work well with math. Never truly explains something unless you ask her lots of questions. Some questions you don't even cover in class. Be prepared to teach yourself.
Worst Prof here at Ferris State University. I would recommend to stay far away from any of her classes. Her humor is dry and she's very monotone.
She isn't very clear about the material, however if you ask she will attempt to clarify. She expects you to understand everything conceptually which makes her tests a bit harder.
She is the type of teacher that you have to take very good notes and must read the chapters before a test in order to do well. She lectures every class and her tests are extremely tough because she doesn't go over the material that well and it is so hard to follow along with her. You have to teach yourself in order to pass.
Just read before class because participation is vital since she asks a lot of questions. Her tests are conceptual, which means you really have to know the material. Class only offers about 300 points - so there's not much room for error. She makes you work, I mean it is college so it's to be expected. I would definitely take her again. Social psych
The course is not too hard, don't bother showing up attendence isn't mandatory and all you need to know is in the book. Decent class, but a teacher that I would not take again if you paid me. She alienates students if their opinions are contrary to hers and it makes for a rough, awkward learning environment.
Ummm, no. Avoid at all costs.
Psych major telling you to never take this prof! If you care about your GPA, stay clear of this class with Meinholdt. Material was semi-interesting but she honestly ruined the whole class. She is extremely rude to students especially when your opinion differs from hers. Tests are extremely hard and she does not prepare you well at all!
She is a little scattered throughout the class but as long as you can follow you will do fine.
not a very great teacher. I really feel like I've learned nothing by attending this class.
I had Connie Meinholdt for psych stats and it's easy to say her gift is not teaching stats. She's very monotoned, lectures are boring and will put you to sleep. She doesn't explain things very well and just repeats herself. She's very passive aggressive and quite rude. Tough grader. Exam material is not clear at all. I would not suggest taking her.
Overall a good professor, she can be a little dry at times in lecture, but she is very knowledgeable and helpful. If you participate, read and do the homework, you should get an A
She a sweet person but she lecture and give you a study guide that 10 times harder than what the actual test is, she always the only class i do poorly in and I am a A and B student but great person though.
By far the worst professor I ever had. People said she was terrible and hard and I figured I could handle it but no, I should have dropped. Our exam averages were in the low 60s. Yet she thinks its our fault. Terrible at teaching. Dont take her
Please save yourself and run away. You won't get clear feedback and exam questions were never discussed in class. More than half the class is spend talking about irrelevant and unimportant topics, hardly related to statistics at all. Dont expect to learn anything before the exam.
Only take her class if you're willing to teach yourself. She tries to teach stats off of powerpoints, and it doesn't work. You'll have to read the chapter to pass this class. She's condescending at times which can be annoying.
Lectures are quite fast and hard to follow to take notes. The exam review is online and doesn't really help for the exam in my opinion. The exams are difficult and there are 5 exams throughout the semester. Currently taking her and she is an okay professor overall.
Professor Meinholdt is overall a good professor. She posts all of her lecture slides online and gives you extra tools to study with online. Tests are a little difficult, make sure you study in advance. She is funny and makes class entertaining. She calls on students to participate during class but won't embarrass you. She knows what she is doing!
Class was boring, but easy. She does a good job of giving examples. 2 homework assignments, 1 paper with a partner reviewing a movie with a character that has psychological problems. 4 tests with multiple choice and some short answer
The class is not overly hard, however you need to read the text book because here exams are more text book stuff than lecture information. She gives one extra credit opportunity, and only 4 total assignments. Her exams were kinda tough but her final wasn't bad at all.
If you have a very minor understanding of statistics (mean, standard deviation, etc.) then this class won't be hard. Make sure you take good notes during lecture and always do the homework because it'll help you. I loved having her as a professor because she's laid back and always has good jokes! Use the book if you have a hard time during lecture.
Not an awful professor, but she talks to students like they are little kids sometimes, and never understands what you're saying. I am a straight A student and I got a B in this class. Her entire class is only out of like 275 points, so a couple points off will bring your grade down a lot. The big group project is awful.
Took for psyc 150, Connie can be condescending at times, treats students younger than they are. The study guides just barely match up with the test but there is so much information you dont know what to study exactly. It makes test taking a little rough. We used the book once for a graded note taking assignment but other than that she made docs.
The only thing that bothered me was that she was a very harsh grader. Other than that, she's a great professor and is very understanding.
Nice lady but half of the stuff she talked about I was confused on. I am not a psych major, but during class the conversations would go far left and drift off to nonsense. She would start to teach a lesson and start adding personal stories and questions and I felt like I had to teach myself. Some of the questions on the test are also confusing.
She has relaxed lectures about the material, literally only three assignments the whole semester, and the real work is just reading and studying. I really appreciate the trust she puts in us to just get work done without any busywork. She will always answer questions and she's very nice.
All around good professor. Due to COVID, I had her online for Social Psych, everything was open book/open note which was really nice. Not a lot of assignments. Posts her lecture slides so you can take notes on your own time. Easy grader as well. Easy class to take.
super understanding. Had for online in the summer. There was one paper with a partner and my partner would not respond or help at all, so she let me do the paper alone and gave me extra time to do it. she also reached out to my partner and tried to help me get her involved. super easy class online too. quizzes were effort not grades on mcgraw hill.
This class will probably only be easy for freshman if you took a psych class in high school. Learning information was interning but the way she explained things sometimes was confusing and her voice is somewhat monotone which can cause some students to doze off. Tests were kind of difficult but manageable if you studied the materials.
This class is terrible. Class averages for exams were around the 55% mark and she never batted an eye. Teaches STATS off PowerPoints (which does not work) and she does not do a good job at explaining anything. She really just likes to talk about politics surrounding the COVID vaccine.
Get ready to just read chapters from the book the whole class. Get ready for Nothing to happen in class except lectures. No group work at all. If you're willing to listen to her you'll get a good grade and the class isn't that hard
