I really enjoyed her class and she always provided clear examples to help us fully understand. You will do fine as long as you make a consience effort to study for her tests.
Very helpful. Gives study guides for each test. Study them and you'll do fine. Don't study them and you most definetely will fail miserably.
This was the most easy class that I took when I was a Freshman at GC. SHe is so cool- You dont even have to go to class_ I pulled a B and I hardly ever did anything- so so easy_ TAKE HER!!
Dr. Ringger is a great teacher. She uses clear cut examples and illustrates a lot of them with interesting video clippings. It is obvious she has put a lot of work into planning her classes and is dedicated to her profession and to her students.
She is a very good teacher!! I have learned a lot from her. Her test can be hard but as long as you study you should be fine.
Dr. Ringger is great. She's willing to work with you if you need help. Her tests are focused mainly on the notes but she does have some questions from the reading. As long as you study you should be ok in her class.

Dr. Ringer is a really nice person and her stories are quite amusing, but as a teacher you cant understand her. Her notes dont make any sense with the book, and the examples she gives, most of the time dont really go with the material.
She may be a good person, but she can't teach. You would think a psych teacher would just run with the material that they're knowledgeable about, but ringger comes across as very insecure and dilluted in her teaching. Boring, wish I would've taken sociology or psych with a different teacher.
Very good teacher. Sometimes information was confusing, especially the chapter on the brain. But other than that, everything else was easy. She helps students associate info by showing (mostly) interesting video clippings. Overall, very nice and helpful. Would recommend her to anyone, as long as you want to actually work for your grade.
She is a really good teacher. You better study for her test or you will fail her class. She knows her stuff.
This teacher is awesome. Not only does she present powerpoints that go along with what she wants you to know- if you understand them, you will get an A in the class. She really knows how to utilize teaching methods. If you show up to class, print off the notes and study- you will pass.
Great teacher...if you're willing to study an A is very possible. Her power points are an overview of the tests, but sometimes she'll throw a couple of questions in from the book to make sure you're reading the chapters. Nice lady, I highly recommend her...she keeps class interesting and you'll definitely have some laughs along the way!
She is an awesome professor! I never had so much fun learning about anything in my life. Tests are challenging, but if you know the material, you will do well. Just do the reviews and the test questions and read the chapters in the text. That helped me a lot!
Finest professor in Humanities department.
Very good teacher! The material is hard, but she makes it easier to understand. If you study and miss few classes you can make an A or B. She is the best psychology teacher by far as GSC.
Great Teacher... loved her class, she is a great psyc. teacher and obviously loves her subject. the class is not too hard and everything is very regimented. notes are well organized and there are study guides for every test. TAKE HER CLASS.
She moves through things fast & doesn't speak loud. She's nice when talking to her, but has hard multiple choice test. You MUST know examples instead of just definitions and to at least a B, you need to go to class because she says things in class that are on the test. Be ready to study hard for her class, it's a real challenge. Good luck!
Cool teacher!1
You are not guaranteed to have many laughs with her but she will make the class as interesting as possible. Her tests can be tricky and if you don't at least go over her powerpoints you are guaranteed to fail her tests. Doesn't make quizzes. Does give extra credits. She doesn't go over material in the book. It's your responsibility to read.
Class isn't difficult. Make sure you read the assigned chapter before class (which isnt very long) Will give little quizzes to make sure you read some days. Come to class everyday bc sometimes participation points. For tests just make sure you know all of the definitions in each chapter. Easy "A" if you do these things and work hard on group proj
Dr. Ringer is one of the better professors I've had at GSC. She provides a great deal of rigor, but her lectures bear immense clarity and she engages the students with interesting case studies, facts, and statistics. I believe her scientific approach to psychology is the primary reason I intend to go into the field of neuroscience.
Took her during Maymester along with Statistics and came out with an A. GO to class, do your reading, and simply listen, and you will really do sooo well. Awesome teacher who is better at Psychology then Abnormal Psy.
SHE'S HARD! HER TESTS HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WORKSHEETS. YOU HAVE TO READ THE TEXT AND APPLY EVERYTHING TO YOUR DAILY LIFE TO UNDERSTAND! SHE OFFERS A FEW EXTRA CREDIT ASSIGNMENTS
Dr. Ringer was not a hard teacher to get a high B with if you do all you group work and take all your tests. I finished with an A, thanks god for the point system. The extra credit was hard to do and took a long time. Don't rely on it. She was interesting but sometimes the lectures really were not. You do have to study more than avg for her tests.
Dr. Ringger was wonderful. I loved her class and actually found it easy. Show up to class! Her tests are based on both lectures and the book, so take notes in class, read the chapters, and do the practice tests she offers online. It's easier than extra credit! Great teacher, she clearly loves the subject and is always happy to answer questions.
She is enthusiastic about her chosen subject. She forces you to actually learn the material rather than memorize it and forget it as soon as the test is over.
She is nice. Her lecture is interesting, you will learn a lot of things in her class including some metal diseases you encounter in your everyday life. But it's not easy to get an A since there are few extra credits which you earn from essays you write after visiting speakers .But if you are serious in learning, you will find her class is wonderful
Very Interesting professor. She is passionate about psychology. Gives lots of extra credit. A lot to learn but if you study, you will do fine. highly recommended
I absolutely LOVED Dr. Ringger's class! She enjoys teaching and is VERY helpful to her students. Her class, however, is NOT an easy one. You have to study vigorously for her tests if you expect to do well. All test questions are examples which is a bit difficult. All around I would take her over and over again. She's a wonderful person and teacher!
Power point lady - thank God! Show for class if you want an "A"/read the book!!/DON'T memorize terms & apply as if in the field/GO for extra credit early on!/approachable lady who seeks to educate her student/plan on spending some time on the material. Overall- smart lady who tells stories to material applicable. If you are a flake/don't take :)
Great teacher, great class. This was my first semester BACK to college and I was worried about getting back into the groove especially with a psyc class. This class is taught using down to earth lectures, and makes you want to learn more and more! My retention level remained extremely high during the semester!

She has a good sense of humor, and often jokes around. overall the majority of the tests were kinda easy if you understand the concepts. Her test questions are usually examples. group assignments are given.. and are perfect if you are a slacker. :D however, takes a while to tolerate and get used to her voice.
OMG if I had studied the study guides and worksheets for the firt two tests I could've easily gotten A. Dr. Ringger was extremely helpful and gave some of the test questions to students who showed up on a Friday when it was raining. She emailed an extra credit video so that those who worked could earn extra credit. By FAR the best professor!!
very easy
Great professor, easy to understand and she's as objective as they come as far as sticking to what research says and not inserting her own opinion so much. I had already taken this class in high school but I still learned quite a bit from her.
She is a very nice lady who will work with you if you are struggling. She makes class interesting. The tests are kinda hard you just have to study the book. She offers extra credit which helps a lot. I would say she is a great professor. :)
Great teacher. She uses powerpoints and makes sure we understand the material. She is always excited about psychology and makes it interesting for the class. She encourages discussion about the subject. I learned a lot but it was not a difficult class at all. Whether you're a psyc major or not interested in it at all, I reccomend taking her class.
Good professor, she knows what she is talking about and it shows. Very objective and sticks to the facts. She uses A LOT of powerpoints which is the only downside. Test are pretty rigorous but studying regularly helps big time. One of the more difficult psychology professors. Do not take Dr. Ringger if you want an easy "A", you have to work for it.
lets certain people get away with things others don't, tests are hard and have nothing to do with the assignments she gives us. doesn't treat students like adults . i would only suggest her to teachers pets because he definitely chooses favortires
Great professor & laid back. She's very helpful especially when you don't understand something. As long as you study & show up to class, you'll pass her tests.
Hybrid-ish class. She requires you to do over 50 assignments on the textbook's virtual lab. She's a really great Psychology teacher, she knows the material through and through. She answers any questions with clear and decisive answers. If you show up every day and complete the study guides, this class is really easy. Make sure to use a HW calendar.
Ms.Ringger is very nice. Her class is very easy as long as you do the PsychPortal assignments and take good notes. I really enjoyed her class!
She is a wonderful teacher. She knows her stuff and is very passionate about it. Her lectures are very clear and as long as you show and do the work you will have a good grade. She is very sweet and cares about her students. I would take her class again in a heart beat.
One of the best teachers I have EVER had. Such a great class. I had it as an 8 am and truly didn't mind, because the class was so interesting. Ms. Ringger is very funny and down-to-earth. STUDY HARD FOR THE TESTS, and you will be fine! Course work otherwise is not heavy at all. TAKE THIS CLASS!!!
She was the most confusing teacher i have ever had. I never had a clue what she was talking about! DO NOT TAKE HER! don't make the same mistake i did!
Dr. Ringger was one of the best teachers I have had. She made the class very interesting and fun to learn. Do the the online work, read the book, and study the material she gives you for the test and you will get an A.
Class was usually boring as she read off the powerpoint each day. She is passionate about her teaching although at times she shared awkward stories with the class. Was semi-difficult, some effort was required to memorize terms and to learn theories. HW is online. 4 tests and comprehensive final. Tests are kind of hard, you will need to study.
She gives a lot of examples to try and help you understand. She has work sheets and study guides in shared class files to help study for tests. If you just read over your notes and skim the book you should be fine. She gives 4 tests and no homework usually.
Confusing powerpoints, makes a ton of mistakes, doesn't give good feedback, AWFUL teacher, do not take her for 3070 if you want to pass! Going to Bethany does not even help because the two do not communicate whatsoever!!!
If you read and go over the notes you will easily pass this class with at least a B if not higher.
Her lectures are basically just power point and some videos. Her tests are really hard and made it difficult to get a good grade. I definitely wouldn't take her again. But she is a really nice lady and does give extra credit.
If you do your work then you will make an A! Love Mrs. Ringger!
This was my favorite hard class. There is a clear and cut way to get an A and make life easy on yourself, and here it is.. she gives study guides and worksheets to study with. I did the work sheets the night before the test, never looked at the study guides, and started getting A's. If you have NO interest in Psychology, take another instructor.
Ringger's grades only come from 4 tests and the final. You have to read the chapters and BE IN CLASS for lectures because she will test on examples she mentions in class. Do the worksheets on Shared Class Files and you'll be fine. She has lots of experience, interesting stories, and very dry humor. Also, be prepared to talk about sex, like a lot.
Dr. Ringger was a great professor, I loved taking her class. She is incredibly awkward sometimes but she really does know what she's talking about and gives great examples that help you understand all the concepts. Use the study guides and worksheets she posts and go to lectures and her tests are easy.
If you are a math genius then you might do okay. She is horrible at explaining things, you will teach yourself the material, you will get 1 point of extra credit at best, tests are hard I only passed them because some of the answers were on the study guide. Use your formula sheet. yikes.
Took human sexuality. Interesting class, however there were too many times the class was so boring (lack of interest in class explains the B grade) ... makes not skipping hard.. not really clear on criteria so you find yourself mindlessly studying things you arent sure you need to.. which sucks. But shes a great & easy going professor.
She really cares about her students, always able to answer questions over email, and allows you to review each of your tests during her office hours. Your grades are four tests and a final. DO THE ONLINE WORKSHEETS, easiest way to succeed. Super nice and knowledgeable. She doesn't allow tech, but all the lectures are online. Show up & do worksheets
if I'm gonna be honest shes alright. show up to class take notes from lectures( some stuff she mentions helps compared to the book), do the worksheets/study guides online. she prefers a tech-free zone, she asks questions in lectures and if no one answers her she stands and stares back until someone says something. besides that shes cool
If you take notes and do her work sheets, the tests are easy to pass! she even gives hits on what will be on the test.
In this class, you only have 5 tests that are your final grade. 4 normal test then a final, she does a research project for 4% of your grade but she does explain the research project well at all so good luck with that. If you are a good test taker then I recommend. The tests are 50 questions.
Dr. Ringger is awesome! Pay attention in class and always go! If yo show up she sometimes tells you what is going to be on the test. She answers emails quickly and thoroughly. DO THE WORKSHEETS AND STUDY GUIDES!!! Sometimes she uses questions on them for the test. Do the extra credit also! It Helps! Very doable, but you have to put in the work!
Loved Dr. Ringger and would 100% recommend her class. She is very kind and understanding, and definitely willing to work with you. She does stutter somewhat and seem disorganized, but the lectures were still quite interesting and worth attending. She does offer extra credit in the form of a research paper. Honestly, one of the best classes I've had
Dr. Ringger gives her students every opportunity to succeed. She is extremely organized. The final grade is made up of 5 tests and 1 simple research assignment. She posts grades promptly. She gives great lectures and gives optional test prep material. I highly suggest using the test prep material.
Didn't really like the class but Professor Ringger was a good teacher. She's a little awkward but she is passionate about her subject and is willing to help you succeed. Study for the tests and read your textbook. Do the worksheets she gives you, they are usually an easy A. Make sure you come to class because she is big on attendance.
Dr. Ringger is an incredible person who actively uses her knowledge in psychology to help her students learn. The material in her power-point presentations are essentially copy-pasted onto the test. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities, so you can easily end up with high A if you study even the slightest amount.
Great professor. Dr. Ringger is always willing to help students dedicated to learn and try hard. We almost always got out of lab early.
Oh my gosh. Never again. She gets super salty and rude when you ask for clarification and belittles students if they don't understand tough content. First few weeks, she was gracious. Then midway through the whole class was failing despite GroupMe study dates/tutoring. If your whole class fails, maybe it's your communication/teaching style...
Review the pp slides and the text if you are having a hard time understanding her teaching style. class is incredibly hard(subject wise), but she is a gem in helping you in and outside of class. she wants everyone to pass and will help u to no extent. most ppl in our class barely passed with a C. Some math wiz' passed w Bs. I dont think any got a A
She was a great teacher and is very understanding that the class was difficult especially with it being online. We had five exams, a lot of labs, and a final exam and she would always make an extra effort to meet with students, answer questions, and help us succeed. If you put forth an effort both in and out of class you will do well in her class.
Dr. Ringger is a great professor! Her lectures were a little scattered at times because shed get distracted or have technology issues, but she really is passionate about making sure her students understand the material. She curved our final and it bumped my grade up to an A! Id definitely take her again.
It would be best to read the book closely before class and again before exams. She is a very understanding and kind professor and will do all she can to help and be fair to all of her students.
She is so caring and understanding. One day I started to feel very anxious in class and I needed to leave and after I emailed and explain what happened and she was so gracious with me and even gave me options that the school provides and said I could make accommodations with her if I needed, she is the best! I feel very comfortable talking to her.
She's a good professor. No assignments or papers. The only assignment is the required research assignment for all PSYC1101 classes (easy). 4 exams and the final exam, all 50 questions. do the practice worksheets and you'll be fine. reading the textbook does help and there will be a few questions on each exam off it. 2-3 extra credit opportunities.
Love her! She is very sweet and tries her best to make the material fun. Do the worksheets and read the chapters and you'll be fine! My classmates were very jaded but her little jokes and trivia made the class enjoyable for me. She is extremely passionate about her subject which made this class easily my favorite.
Overall, quant methods is a difficult course. She does her best to make sure you understand the material because she wants you to succeed in the course. grade consists mainly of Labs and Exams. labs are graded by completion, not accuracy. exams are worth 50% of grade and can really hurt you if you don't do well on them.
Overall, I would not recommend this professor unless you are a psych major and willing to dedicate at least 1/2 hours a day to studying for the class. She does not make her lectures interesting and I really tried to give all my attention to her. I studied daily and still did not do well on exams. I also attended SI sessions which did not help.
Dr. Ringger is overall a very sweet person who is very understanding and accommodating to her students, as long as there is a considerable effort put in to understand the material. Make sure you attend lab, because lecture is not very helpful. You will have to do the labs to understand the material. She grades for participation though!
Connie is a nice lady, but her lectures were always very long and boring. I had to teach myself a lot of the material in class and the exams were very long so if you aren't a great test taker good luck. I went to all of the SI sessions and they didn't really help either. If you are well versed in psych then you will probably be fine.
The class itself is hard and I definitely could have made a B if I had met with her or asked for help outside of class. HOWEVER, she herself is amazing! She cares so much about the topic and about her students, she really does want to help you learn and she doesn't want to see anyone fail.
Professor Ringger is such a kind person and try so hard to help students when she can. However, she is not a good lecturer. She hardly finish her sentence, the slides are made to her understanding, not for students. Most students were on their phone/playing games on laptop because lectures were incredibly unhelpful & boring.
Sweet lady, but not a great lecturer. I got a good grade, but most people in my class seemed to be in the C-B range. Go to lab to further understand the material!
Dr. Ringger sets clear expectations, and has certain pet peeves, which she will call you out on in front of the class. I wouldn't recommend her if you aren't good with tests, as 90% of your grade will be exams. Notes are a must in this class, as her PowerPoints are not meant to be studied. Make use of worksheets, study guides, and office hours.
Dr. Ringger is one of my favorite professors. She genuinely cares about her students and wants you to succeed. The course itself is difficult, everyone knows this going into 3070 regardless of the instructor, but Dr. Ringger is understanding and provides excellent feedback. If you put in the work-you will succeed. I loved having her as my professor
Dr. Ringger is an understanding and fair professor for intro to psych. She lectures a lot, but tries to do interactive activities. The concepts were interesting and she likes class participation. If you do the honors class, she gives good feedback and encouragement for the project. She's a little awkward, but is passionate about her subject.
lectures are usually confusing but labs are helpful in understanding the concepts. she gives you exam reviews that are actually useful. she also lets you bring a formal sheet (no words, only formulas). labs are graded for completion (i rarely ever finished them and she still gave me 100s). she also gives partial credit on written portions of exams
Dr. Ringger is the best possible option for this course. She does everything she can to help you, so if you fail, that is your problem. I adore this woman and take her courses whenever I get the option to.
I think she is a nice lady, but very test heavy. If you aren't a good test taker, I would let her know as soon as possible. She does give practice exams you can take to study, and I think those helped. You must read your textbook as well.
