Very nice teacher and extremely helpful! She cares about you doing well and is very informative. She is thorough and her tests are easy. I would definitely take her again for another class.
Sweet lady! Class and tests are very easy! Grades fairly! Definately recommend!!
She was a very good teacher. I enjoyed the class a lot, but her tests were a little bit vauge. On the last one I took there was a question that I had learned in another class, but had never been mentioned in her class. In any event, she's a nice lady and a good teacher.
Very nice teacher. Never keeps you the whole time. Lets you dicuss things within the classroom and is very understanding. Wonderful!
Great teacher and gives students many oppertunities to excel. She likes to work in groups, and has only two tests, including the final. The final was only 20 questions long and study guides were given for each test. You need the book to complete the study guides and attendence is rewarded with points towards a test grade.
She is a nice lady but completely disorganized in the classroom. She repeats herself over and over like we are two years old. She also forgets to teach things all the time so she ends up sending 5 emails a week to clarify her mistakes. Group work is fun and the class is easy but it's obvious that this was one of her first years teaching this course
Do not take professor Goodman. She is a very nice lady, but makes the class extremely boring and repeats herself so many times that you want to get up and leave. She is very scatter brained and the class is ridiculous do not take her. Easy A but not worth your time.
Dr. G is the nicest professor I have ever had! She cares about all her students, and is always willing to help. Her class is not hard at all, I wouldn't take anyone else but her for this class. Nicest woman ever!
Do NOT take professor Goodman if you have a choice. She treats you like you're still in middle school, and you are required to do a bunch of busy work. She is also extremely repetitive, just don't take her.
AWFUL teacher, do NOT take her. Repeats herself constantly, is not leniant on grades, no enthusiasm, and is SO boring.
I LOVED her class! Some ppl did have trouble understanding assignments but it was easy! She's very helpful & WANTS her studenets to learn. She'll go out of her way to hlep you out
Repeats herself so you are sure to hear it. It is one of the first things she says in class. Extremely helpful. Does the best she can with boring subject matter. Class is not hard. It is basically just following directions and doing assignments. Lenient but not a pushover.
The class work is easy. Reading guides directly from the book so bring your book to class. tests are fair. As far as clarity she sucks. She gave us an essay last minute, didnt specify what she wanted and failed half the class on the essay. Group work gallore. I had an A the whole time until the stupid essay that counted as part of the final exam.
i heart her she is amazing and makes you feel so comfortable you have to be pretty dumb to fail her class ....do the work and put in the time and youll be fine shes the best ...like she says you have whole pizza its your choice if you want to take a slice or the whole damn thing lol
love her. she is an awesome woman. she makes it seem so easy.
She's okay. She can talk on and on about the same thing over and over, which gets frusterating and she was unclear of some of her expectations. I know a lot of people thought she graded unfair, but I personally never had any problems. She's pretty easygoing overall, I'd recommend her.
Can be nice but is honestly a bad professor. Repeats unimportant info CONSTANTLY, is very unclear about assignments, had to deal with all service learning scheduling myself because she didn't tell us that the online scheduling window was closing. Makes you feel unimportant. Tests on stuff never talked about in class. Avoid if possible.
This is a tough review. Although the class discussions were awesome, and I feel that she is a brilliant professor, the midterm was extremely difficult. Seriously, if you're in it for the grade, you might look elsewhere. If you're in it to learn and challenge yourself, Dr. Goodman is a good choice. If you're in between, well, I worked HARD for my A.
awesome teacher! she uses a lot of different teaching methods each class to show teachers the correct method of educating. do all of the fact sheets and study for the quizzes when she says to, it makes a big difference. class was three hours long but she let us out at least an hour early every time.
The whole semester is nothing but group work. Her directions arent very clear, no midterm though. She's easy and we always get out early. If you like group work and want an easy class during JR internship, take her.
She is a sweetheart. She's the kind of professor that you want to do good so you will not disappoint her. I think she genuinely wants her students to succeed and she does everything in her power to give the students that chance.
She is one of the sweetest people in the world. She is really kind and you can tell that she really cares about her students. Sometimes she can be repetitive and talk to the class as if they are in elementary school, but overall she is really smart and a great teacher. Her tests are SO easy if you study. Definitely take her if you have the option.
She is the greatest professor you will have. I will pick her for other classes too. Tests is pretty easy, but you must study for it. I recommend everyone to take this professor whenever you have a chance.
she is such a sweetheart. you can tell she really wants her students to do well. the entire class is group work but you do learn. the tests were hard but came right from the book. would take her again without a doubt.
Sweetest woman in world... mama dukes as I like to say. She is not only an amazing educator but she really cares about the world of teaching and about her students. She is the S**t!!
Dr. Goodman was a great professor for a college freshman. She was understanding when it came to people's problems and helped out whenever she could. What I did not like about the class was it was completely group work based. The workload was not bad and the tests were fair--you just had to study like crazy.
Dr. Goodman was an awesome professor. I had her for Introduction to Education as well as Teaching Diverse Populations. She was such a sweetheart. Her class was easy and she even offered some extra credit towards the end. Take her! You won;t regret it!
Best professor ever!! She is the most helpful professor i've had. I take her whenever i can and am now taking my fourth class with her. So caring and thoughful; take her whebever you can!
I took this education course with Goodman half online and half lecture. I thought all of the online stuf was very confusing and I was never able to keep up with deadlines. I found Goodman to be very unhelpful with the class and did not teach much of anything. She was only good for responding to emails on time.
Not the best teacher... she takes the class VERY seriously. She is helpful after class but puts on a mean look during her lectures. Speaking of lectures all she does it talk about how important the class is rather then teaching us the "important" information. Although she isnt the best teacher im still getting an A in the class.
Class is very easy, easier then you would expect. She says attendance is mandatory, and then does not take it. Almost all assignments are group, so they end up being very easy. Very nice professor and always responds to e-mails quickly.
Goodman was a decent teacher, very passionate about teaching; however, at times the class found her instructions unclear. Seems strict during lectures yet she'll joke every once in a while. There are easier teachers-grades group work and "homework" fairly easy, but the individual hard. Need a 95 to make an A..94.4 is an A- so that's kinda lame.
helpful teacher, wants you to KNOW the material (not memorized). i received an A-, which i worked for. overall, the class was easy as long as you read the syllabus & kept up w/deadlines. we wrote a group paper which wasn't easy. we also had an oral midterm which was hard b/c she would randomly pick a person for each question (mult, & short answer)
Nice lady. Semi easy. You need to know the defnitions of all bolded terms in the book. If you put effort in, you will pass class easily. She is UNCLEAR sometimes and sometimes does not use class time wisely. Nice though and very passionate about teaching.
do not take her if you aren't in her STEP program. Took her half online half at school and struggled the entire semester (was a junior in a class or all freshman). Everything is very confusing.Group work was useless. I have to retake this class. She NEVER replied to e-mails.
I loathe her. She is unclear about everything and rambles on about stupid things. We had dumb group projects that should have been individual work. She made me question if I wanted to go into teaching because of the way she treated us. You will need the book for the quizzes, but will hardly use it. She says attendance is mandatory but doesn't check
I feel like this class is very important for a future educator, and she just ruined my experience in the class. She is a sweet lady and very passionate, but not a very helpful teacher. She mumbles and does not use class time efficiently. The class is not hard at all, but you have to keep disciplined in order to keep up!
Dr. Goodman is by far the best and most kind-hearted professor I've had at UCF. She cares about every one of her students and makes the material interesting. Don't expect to slack off in her class because she is not afraid to call you out and make you answer questions on the spot. But, overall an amazing teacher, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!
Professor Goodman is great! You can tell she loves teaching and the class discussions are always interesting. She asks for feedback on the online portions and changes things if there are problems. She answers her emails within 24 hours, also. The only problem is the group work. If you're in a bad group, it's nearly impossible to get anything done.
Caring but rambles a lot. HARSH grader but you don't know that unitl the end when it can be too late. When the class tries to reason with her, she won't listen though she says she wants your opinion. Group assignments like a paper that shouldn't be for a group. She's an ok prof but ruined my chance of an A. If you can take someone else I would.
AMAZING WOMEN! Highly recommend! She is clearly well educated and passionate about her craft. But, if you are not sure about whether education is for you,you wwill be after her class. She has no problem letting you kno whats up; yet you can't help but love & appreciate her. Very! heplful & quick to email. Pay attention and go to class you're good.
I'll be a junior in the fall and Dr. Goodman is the hands down best professor I have had yet. A lot of college professors come across as self interested and arrogant, but Goodman is extremely genuine and helpful, in addition to being passionate about what she does. Amazing teacher and person, I would reccomend her.
She is very funny!!! So nice and helpful. Her study guides are very helpful. Show up to class and be prepared! Be respectful and you will be good.
Dr. Goodman is a really easy going professor but you HAVE to go to class because she docks points for each absence. She usually gets back to your questions fairly quickly and if you need help she's REALLY helps
She is very funny and sarcastic. she cracks a lot of jokes. she wants you to succeed, but sometimes her work assignments get tough. overall- i recommend her :)
She is a lot of help. If you ever have any questions, you can email her any time of the day. She keeps class interesting and keeps everyone involved in class. Its not just a lecture, its fun!
She made the class uninteresting. Assigns a group paper and then grades harshly. A lot of the assignments aren't graded until the end of the semester, so the grade you think you are getting may be wrong. I got the grade I wanted, but still would not recommend her for this class.
One of the most caring professors I've met. It's a great class, where you will learn a lot. Just study and pay attention in class. I highly recommend Dr. Goodman!
interesting class, cool midterm, do high quality work and you will get an A
The entire class is slightly unorganized and unclear. Most assignments aren't graded until the end of the semester, which hurts when trying to figure out your grade. She is a nice person, but I would not recommend her for this class. I don't feel like I got much of anything out of this class, which is sad because I was excited for the subject.
Her class is half online and half face to face. She is a very caring person and she wants nothing more than for her students to succeed. This class is not difficult, if you do your work you're in good shape. She like to crack jokes and makes class enjoyable. I recommend taking her. I took her for more than one class.
This class is mixed mode, which means half online & half face to face. She can be tough on grading for certain assignment & very lenient for others. This makes it hard to judge the effort to put in to some assignments. She is a great professor & is always very helpful. I strongly recommend taking her for any & all of the classes that she teaches.
Dr. Goodman is extremely passionate about what she teaches, and I promise that you'll be at the edge of your seat while she talks. My only issue was assignments being unclear, particularly the group assignments. Just make sure you reference your course packet often because she will not remind you about assignments coming up.
Dr. Goodman is a nice lady, but I don't see how she got her Ph.D. When it comes to the online modules, I have found spelling errors in all of them so far. She's not very clear about when things are due and when you ask her something, she directs you to read the syllabus. That may be great for some, but when I ask a question, I'd like an answer.
Very unclear about assignments and grading. ALWAYS lets students out of class early.
No in class written tests. Most of the work is online and you only have to go to class every couple of weeks, because it is mixed mode. All quizzes are online with 2 attempts, easy A. Assigns a few group projects, but they are not very difficult. Only tests are the midterm and final but you can get exempt from both.
TERRIBLE PROFESSOR. CLASS IS HIGHLY UNORGANIZED, REALLY TOUGH GRADER.
For ANYBODY that said "She's a tough grader", just put effort into the work. You can't expect to turn in BS work and get a good grade. She judges based on the quality and accuracy put into assignments. That being said, certain assignments were not clear yet she was VERY helpful via email if you ever have questions. I would for SURE take her again.
This teacher was so disorganized, and towards the end of the semester she started to get downright rude. It seemed like she had a lot going on. Grades took forever to be posted. No one knew their grade in her class the entire semester. Information was conflicting. Very passive when asked questions. too many group projects & a group book review
Sweet lady. Class is mixed mode so you only have to go to class two times a month MAX. Her group project is a semester long process but not as much work as she tries to make it sound like. My group did it the week before &got a 94. Final exam is verbal & a group grade but study and you'll get a good grade. Do the work & you'll get an A.
Overall I do not recommend you to sign up for this professor. Unorganized, and does not grade any of your assignments until the week before the semester ends. she doesn't make it clear what she wants out of the assignments. I got a B in this class... When I thought I had an A. I wish she has made her expectations clear.
Dr. Goodman is amazing. Yes, you have to work a little for your A, but she is so passionate about what she teaches and who she teaches it to that the class is enjoyable. She is a reliable resource and is willing to help you. I have had her twice and would take her again if I could.
I Thought she was a gem! I took her and received an A. In terms of having never taken a Diversity class, it was a good class. I learned a lot form her class, and would finitely take her again. I don't know why she isn't scored higher! It's true that she didn't put the grades in until the end but she was organized in my class.
She is the WORST teacher I have ever had in my entire life. K-12 and as a junior in college. She is disorganized, unclear of her expectations. DO NOT take any of her classes!
She is unorganized.
Prof. Goodman is a nice lady, but I don't care for her teaching style. She doesn't talk much in class and has students direct most of discussions. Textbook isn't required, only a $35 "packet" from the UCF bookstore. Class is half online, half face-to-face which is great. Assignment heavy. Assigned groups in class and a required group paper.
Structure of her class is very disorganized. She is very slow to grade and 80% of the time does not respond to emails. She assigns groups that you are forced to work with in class, and do a group paper with. Certain people get special treatment and are given a passing grade at the end even though they do not partipate or do their assignments.
This was a very straightforward and enjoyable class. She gave SO many options for alternatives to the actual assignments listed in the course syllabus AND offered significant amounts of extra credit. I also enjoyed her lectures because you can tell she cares for the subject matter and enjoys conveying the information. I would highly recommend! :)
Not a fan of her teaching style or her attitude. Requires 15hrs of service learning at Deerwood Elementary or Riverdale Elementary (even if you're a secondary educations major). Not very organized. The challenge course was VERY fun though.
she is an amazing teacher. I had her for two semesters and loved her classes. I wish I could have her again. If you want a teacher that cares and wants to make you a better student take Dr. Goodman! :)
Dr. Goodman was amazing! She really knows what she is talking about during your lectures with her. You also have 15 Service Learning hours to be done at a local Title 1 school of your choice which actually opened my eyes to teaching at the elementary level as well as a Title 1. Would take again!
15 Service learning hours required which would not be an issue if the choice of schools wasn't limited to 3, and the time slots were not 30 minutes each. She does not read your emails and is generally unhelpful. If you do all the online assignments, about 5 a week, you will pass. Attendance is a grade for the few class periods you have.
Dr. Goodman is such an amazing professor! Shes so sweet and always makes the effort to know you personally. She only requires a packet with work that may seem tedious but its super easy! I look forward to having her again in the fall!
She is wonderful! She is a great teacher. If I could have her every semester, I would.
Dr. Goodman is a very good professor. Even though she sometimes will take a while to answer emails or grade the papers, she cares about her students and wants everyone to pass the class. You will have to do service learning which is volunteering at a local school, I suggest getting it done early. The class isn't hard, there is just a lot of work.
Very out there. Not really organized. No matter how much you email her, she'll never respond-ever. But I think she's at least trying. Generally unhelpful. If you do all the online assignments, about 5 a week, you will pass.
Professor Goodman is a kind woman, but she is not organized in the least. She does not ever show you your full grades. She shows what's completed and what's not. You don't see your grades until the very end of the semester when it's all too late to change anything. She is slow to respond and recognize when things are incorrect. Class is group heavy
There were papers due every other week and if you follwed the rubric you did well. Very intersting course. You would be put into a group and do discussions as well and would express your opinon on a topic.
Dr. Goodman was an amazing professor. The class is heavy on discussions and she calls out random people to talk about topics related to the course. Overall the content is not difficult to learn and the application of topics is crucial for this course. There is one group project and it's worth a lot of points. Definitely would take again!
he absolute worst professor I have had by far. Covid aside, understandably, she is unorganized, does not respect your time as an individual and outright a poor teacher. Typically, this class would be in person but she has just added to the stress of the pandemic for me and my classmates. Don't bother emailing her either btw- she won't answer.
I wanted to love this class so badly. The class is super important and useful as a future educator. Dr. Goodman is an extremely sweet woman. I want to like her but I can't. The requirements to pass her class are unclear even though she "explains" them multiple times. You won't know your grade until the end of the semester either. Not enjoyable.
This class was beyond easy. Only a few Zoom classes and literally no work. She made so many assignments replaceable with other things. She is older and cannot work technology well, so everything was always a mess. She also rambled on Zoom calls; everyone just wants to get the work done and move on. Easy A but very confusing when talking with her.
This professor does not know how to communicate. She will take days to answer emails, so don't bother if it's urgent. She also gives vague rubrics and feedback. She'll also contradict herself in terms of due dates or assignment requirements. Course work isn't too bad but it's difficult when you don't know what to do.
DONT TAKE PROFESSORYGOODMAN ONLINE Her class is disorganized and has little to no structure. I emailed her questions about assignments and she would respond a week later super vaguely. Class meetings would be scheduled without communication. 15 service hours mandatory during a pandemic when most schools are closed. Awful communication and unfair.
WHERE DO I BEGIN! The class lacks structure which makes it difficult to follow at times and it's easy to miss points on certain assignments. Dr. Goodman is a terrible communicator, taking days to respond to emails and even when you get a response they are vague and unhelpful. If you are serious about becoming an educator do not take her class.
Dr. Goodman means well but there is a definite lack of communication. Her explanations are too vague most of the time. I like that work is not due every week in her class. Compared to my other classes the work load is not too heavy. I was not able to view my class grade the entire semester, here we have neared the end and it is still not visible.
This class had so much wasted potential because of Professor Goodman. Instead of focusing on what it is like being a teacher and the important things you should know about the career, she makes you purchase a $45 course packet that is useless (it's a Florida Teacher membership) and has you complete elementary-level work. Overall easy, but pointless
Dr. Goodman's lectures are honestly a complete waste of time. You have to teach yourself the content before getting to class and then she just has the class recount everything they learned, thus teaching you nothing. To her credit, she lets you exempt two assignments if you complete 15 hours of volunteering with Boots on the Ground. Tests are easy.
Has class once a month. Class is mandatory or you get a ten point deduction. She is an amaing professor and really cares about her students. The bad thing is that she doesn't really teach the course and is just the students giving presentations. You teach the course on your own. If you put in the work and turn things early, you are able to pass.
Dr. Goodman is a very sweet professor, but a bit disorganized. Her class never felt stressful, but grade fixes or uploads of certain assignments may very well go under her radar. Regarding the course, it was more discussion based than anything. There is a one group project that takes up a portion of the course. Service hours are not required!
I read a different report before taking this course saying that you have to teach yourself. I didn't know how that was possible but it is. You literally have to teach yourself. It is obnoxious especially when we are given oral exams when we weren't taught literally anything. I had such high hopes for this class and I am highly disappointed.
she spent no time going over the material we were supposed to learn. all she did was say the word interesting and give us papers with almost no instructions.
Prof Goodman wants you to succeed. While there is a lot of work, I found her very fair in her grading. Definitely do your boots on the ground if you can. Not only is a great experience but she looks fondly towards this. I disagree with others Prof Goodman is one of a kind.
I advise against taking a class with this professor. Extremely rude and passive aggressive. Avoid!!
dont take dr goodman. she is very sweet, but needs to retire as she is unorganized and confusing. the class is not structured well. there's rubrics, but they're confusing and little direction to the assignments. she is also not very sympathetic and does not answer questions well. i advise taking this with another professor as many were frustrated.
do not take this class with dr goodman. this class is basically the same as edf2005, but the students give presentations, which are her lessons. you also get the opportunity to write fascicle! what's that? i still don't know as there was barely a rubric and basically no direction. she also takes random points off my assignments but with no feedback
Dr. Goodman is a nice woman, but this class was confusing. It was very mostly online and directions were usually pretty vague. She makes you volunteer at a school, but if you do it with her program you can exempt 2 assignments (including the midterm or final) which was nice. Not the worst class I've ever taken but far from the best either.
Weird class. U don't have to buy a textbook but u have to buy a course packet for $50, no choice. Assignments are not written properly & make you think you have to do something else. Communication with her is informal, feels like ur talking to a friend (in a bad way). Emphasizes finding things on your own even if you email asking for explicit help.
She has no intention at all to help you. I had multiple questions throughout the semester and she had no desire to give me any answers to my questions. I DO NOT RECCOMEND!!!! if you get her as a professor, i'm sorry
Although Dr. Goodman is a good person with good intentions, she is NOT a good teacher (ironic). She assigns you to random groups with random group leaders with no guidelines on how to do the group project. Her quizzes, midterm, and final are on Quizlet and easy to access. The work itself isn't "hard", I just didn't learn much from her. Good luck.
She takes off points for assignments without giving any feedback. Every assignment has little to no guidelines. You are put into groups and expected to basically create lecture slides and teach the class yourself. The class only meets once a month, and it's not hard, she's just not the best professor.
If you are an education major, this professor gives great lectures about what you will need to know as a future educator. Sometimes takes away points without context which is frustrating and there is a good amount of writing as well. Also this class is mostly online with a couple meetings in person.
Goodman's class is a mixed bag - vague instructions, but easy enough if you use Unstuck AI and volunteer for the exemptions. Worth it if you need the credit, but don't expect much hands-on teaching.
Her online class is a mess and makes 0 sense. If asked any questions, her only response is to "just read!" even though there's no information and if there is, it's outdated and not relevant to the online course. If the entire class is confused, I don't think the students are the problem, the professor is.
