Dr. Rich is a very enthusiastic and knowledgeable lecturer! Lectures are mandatory but they engaging and well explained. They model what is explained in the book. Genuinely looked forward to going to class every day.

Exam was tricky and she talked down her exam, it was quite specific and did not come directly from her study guide. Her powerpoints do not have all the info you need, you must listen to her lecture because she does not seem to like having too much text on her slides. She is smart, nice, and thankfully curved the exam 8 points?. Solid teacher.

Great lectures! If you study the PowerPoints (study guide wasn't super helpful) and pay attention in lecture, the exam should be fine although it was tricky. She did an exam review during office hours the day before the exam and it was very helpful since she seemed to emphasize certain things that happened to be on the exam the next day.

I thought that Dr. Rich was great for bio 2 although I heard bad things about her for physio. I thought her lectures were very interesting and she broke down the material into good chunks that were not too long (ppts about 20 slides) She also had a good exam review and her exam was not too hard although some questions were tricky. you have to work

Dr. Rich in Bio 2 is the best professor of the 3. I thought her exam was very fair based on the information we learned-- people say it's the hardest but I did better on it than the plants section. She is super caring and passionate about teaching and she is quick to respond to emails should you have any questions.

She was very understanding of the situation we were in due to COVID-19, pushed the exam back a couple days. Her exam was straightforward, but you definitely need to study!! 10/10 recommend

Dr. Rich is the BEST professor I have ever had at UF. Her class is by no means easy, but she gives you all of the resources and help you need to do very well. I've learned so much from her teaching style, she makes you think deeply and fully understand the material. She is also one of the nicest people ever, and genuinely cares about her students!

I was nervous to take this class bc it is a 5 credit class and bc of the reviews on here. Dr. Rich made this class the best class I have ever taken! I feel so prepared for medical school because her lectures go in depth and she really forces you to think and integrate material. You have to study, you have to work in this class. If u do ull be good.

Dr Rich is the greatest professor I have EVER had. Her exams do require a lot of critical thinking but she provides practice questions for each lecture that help a lot. I went to every lecture, did all the practice questions and reviewed my notes/ppts daily and really didn't even have to study much for exams. 10/10, wish I had another class w/ her

She is a great lecturer - she gives lots of practice questions (LC) during lectures that help for the exam. I attended lectures, did practice questions, and took good notes but still had to use Smokin' Notes to feel fully prepared. Definitely the hardest section of BSC2011 but she makes it understandable!

I took Human Physiology with Dr. Rich. It was honestly a great class so don't be discouraged to take her class by previous reviews! She really cares about her students and is very helpful outside of class. Quizzes and exams are tough but she gives you more than enough resources to do well. Group project was fun too. Definitely recommend!

Dr. Rich is my favorite professor from UF. She gives tough tests, but is very active in preparing you for it. ATTEND OFFICE HOURS. This is where you get one-on-one reinforcement of ideas. Even if you don't have questions, others undoubtedly will. Stick around for these office hours to learn homework answers and why they're right. Study in groups!

Dr. Rich was very enthusiastic and caring about biology, but her exam on the animals section of Bio 2 was extremely difficult. Incredibly specific questions that would ask you about something you might end up skipping over while going through notes or listening in lecture, so really study basically EVERYTHING if you wanna pass her exam.

her ratings are so incorrect; some students are just grumpy they had to try in a class. she is probably the best professor ive had at UF. she was so sweet and really seemed to care about what she taught and how students performed. the class material isn't easy but if you put in effort you can do great. the class average ended up being like a B+.

Dr. Rich was incredible for the animal section of BSC2011. Her lectures were explained well enough for first-time exposure to the topic, however, it didn't feel as though she was underexplaining anything. Respected the difficult times we experienced in COVID and was really in tune with what students had to say about the course. Great person!

She was a really sweet and knowledgeable professor but her exam was the hardest out of the three. It's just a lot of material that you really have to keep up with. She's a great lecturer though so I'm sure if I had paid attention, I would have done better on the exam.

Her exam was the hardest of the three, but mainly because it was just a lot of information about several of the body systems. Definitely try to study a couple of days in advance for this exam rather than waiting til the night before like I did! I didn't really use the textbook for this section but I feel as though it would've been helpful.

Great teacher & really knows her stuff. Her lectures are interesting. This was an easy exam but I recommend studying far ahead of time and using Smokin Notes. Join the group me and study with a friend. She gave a lot of EC on her exam since people did bad on it. Theres a lot of topics to know so make sure to take good notes the first day it starts

She is very knowledgeable, passionate, and caring. I found her exam hard, but that mostly has to do with the Animals section being the toughest material in general. She responds to emails really quick and provided a lot of extra study materials for the exam.

Dr. Rich is a great lecturer and really takes her time to explain concepts as her section of biology is the most difficult one of the three. Go to her office hours and her review sessions (even if you don't have a particular question, it's good to hear others for review). She can be rather specific in her questions on exams, so know the material!

Dr. Rich is incredibly passionate about animal physiology, which was evident in her online lectures. She's sometimes disorganized and unclear of her expectations, but her exam was incredibly easy if you had a remote understanding of the content.

Animals is the hardest section of bio 2 but prof. Rich makes it worth it! Shes the sweetest and was really passionate about making sure everyone succeeds. Her exam was somewhat hard but very fair, just make sure not to cram for it. (But If you do, Smokin notes is a lifesaver!)

Wow! Professor Rich is literally SO great! I enjoyed the class with her so much I am planning to take her again with human physiology. Her lectures are engaging and she made an online learning environment very doable. She is the sweetest person ever which is a bonus! You can tell she genuinely cares about her students.

Dr. Rich is honestly one of the best bio teachers I have ever had. Her lectures are really clear. She was really understanding with all of the covid issues. All of the questions on her exam were based on the lectures and totally fair game. If I did bad on the exam that's definitely my fault not hers.

I have no idea why Professor Rich doesn't have a 5-star rating here! She has been my favorite professor by far. She is witty and makes her lectures incredibly engaging and fun! Make sure to understand the learning objectives, and the textbook isn't necessary. Do all the work and use Smokin Notes to smoke those exams if you want the extra help.

I don't really care for putting feedback but I have to for her . Her lectures is in parts. It's so nice not having to sit through a lecture for 40mins to an hour straight, especially since bio isn't my strong subject (hate it). Also, she reviews and explains the activities. THANK GOD her analogies just helps me understand things so much better

I'm gonna be honest; I did not watch a single lecture til the day before the exam. And somehow, I managed to retain the knowledge fairly easily. I found myself thinking, "why didn't I watch these lectures sooner?" Dr. Rich has an engaging lecture style that makes you want to pay attention, and she makes analogies that make concepts easy to digest.

Professor Rich is one of the best professors at UF! She is so clearly passionate in her work and it rubs off on her students. I felt myself truly engaged in her material. She is more than fair in her assignments and exam questions. Can't recommend enough!

From the time I have been in UF, Professor Rich has been one of the best and when I say one of the best professors I have experienced I mean it. The way she presents the material makes the student interested and engages him or her. And if you focus on her material, you will be successful in your exams. She is a gem. As a student, I learned a lot.

Great prof who made a hard topic both easier and enjoyable through her analogies, enthusiasm, and humor. Genuinely cared about us, had a unique teaching style, and I HIGHLY recommend The class covers challenging concepts and she prepares you VERY well for exam IF you watch the lectures/take notes. One of the best UF has to offer: very interesting lecture style, informative material, fair exam, cares SO much for students that you feel like you know her. Prof. Rich is truly the first biology professor at UF that I felt effectively communicated all the lecture contents clearly. She presents a friendly and welcome environment to all students, and she explains everything in terms that beginning students would truly understand. As a freshman, this was the best learning environment. STRONGLY recommend!!

Dr. Rich was a great Prof, she teaches the animal biology portion of BSC2011. She made it really simple and is great at explaining things multiple different ways. Her exam was the easiest of the 3 and had an average over 80%.

Although the animals unit might be the most difficult for a lot of people, she is excellent at breaking down concepts and explaining them. Dr. Rich is an AMAZING professor. If you're taking physio, I would take her for Bio 2 because the section she teaches acts as an intro course to the material taught here. Dr. Rich is the best of the 6 bio profs Ive had at UF. TBH I procrastinated a lot since I had her online and had little interaction with her, but her lectures were AMAZING and so engaging. She didnt over-complicate the material like all the other profs did and she really cared that we did well with the material as well as with our other endeavors

Tough material but she makes lectures actually FUN. Clear about what she will test on, and exams are very representative of the lectures. Exam seemed easier than past years, but this could be because of covid.

I don't suggest studying the night before the exam, although some did and got a decent grade. The lectures were content heavy because it was looking at many different body systems across different animal groups. However the questions were typically main idea so your grade did not depend so heavily on knowing it all, just big points which she emphasized. Her passion was contagious and she answered questions well.

Professor Rich is a really good professor who knows her stuff about the Human Body. Her lectures are very interesting and she has a very approachable personality, but I did not enjoy her PowerPoints. They were very hectic, and long. Her exam was rough but definitely fair. Overall she is a really great professor and a nice person.

One of my favorite professors to this day. I not only appreciate his enthusiasm for biology but also for being such a caring professor. My favorite thing about him is his unintentional humor, being in lecture with him was actually fun.

Dr. Rich is one of the best professors I've had - excellent teacher who makes hard to understand concepts easier with her real life analogies. She is super enthusiastic and wants her students to succeed. I would not say this is an easy A class as the exams are challenging, but I learned so much and definitely want to take more of her classes.

Dr. Rich is a very sweet and enthusiastic professor who truly cares about her students. The actual class is weighted pretty fairly but exams are meant to make you dive into deeper concepts. Very application based but when you finish the class you'll really understand physio. Lots of EC within exams and drops lowest exam grade. A is very feasible.

Dr. Rich is very accessible through email, discussion boards, and office hours to help with students' understanding. The content is difficult, but you should be fine if you attend office hours, dissect homework questions, and are comfortable with the provided learning objectives -- solely going through the lectures will not suffice.

Well thought-out, clear lectures and is always in a good mood, makes what could be a very difficult subject to learn pretty easy. The only grades were Learning Catalytics which she goes over in class, online textbook activities, and the exam. As long as you do the work, you should be fine.

She is a really funny and interesting lecture, most of her material is pretty easy if you have taken bio 1 and maybe anatomy since it is primarily bodily functions. Her exam was very fair and straightforward. 100% reccomend.

Honestly really liked Dr. Rich. She was very attentive during lectures and tried to explain difficult concepts in a simple manner. Attend her office hours! I think I did so well on the animals exam because of her office hours. She would make detailed tables and explanations of the material. One of my favorite professors.

The exams are application heavy so memorizing alone won't get you an A. Make sure you understand the concepts thoroughly and answer all the learning objectives. The exams have extra credit questions!!
