Class was ridiculously easy; same course material as a 100 level marketing class. Teacher was knowledgeable but lecture was boring. Quizzes were VERY easy. Semester group project was challenging but also on par with lower level marketing classes.
Nice guy, very helpful and knowledgeable! Class was easy but suitable for non business major
He is a very nice guy, he understands students problems and what they are going through. He tells you what will be on the tests and quizzes. Group project is pretty straight forward, obviously you need good team members. Other than that, grading wise he is pretty easy. I would definitely RECOMMEND Mr. Constant Cheng.
Constant is a really kind-hearted man who will go out of his way to help you. A midterm and final, and a group project. His grading is fair. Attend class often, study the things he repeats, and you should be fine for a good grade.
One of the best professors at Mason. He has been in the field and been very successful, so his advice and stories are meaningful. A little quirky, but he is always willing to help. Absolutely wonderful.
a nice teacher but u absolutely need the book in order to do good in this class.
He is a really nice teacher. He truly cares about his students. He has a thick accent and sometimes it is hard to understand him. You do need the book to follow along with his lectures to do get a good grade.
I HAVE COMPLETELY NOTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS PROFESSOR! Very nice and very helpful professor; I loved his class. Tests are straight to the point, either you know the material or not. Cares for his students progresses. Willing to assist you in anyway possible..whether your not understanding the material, etc. I highly recommend him!
Very intelligens; knows his material; speaks 5 or 6 languages! Willing to help if you meet w/him, very respectful. He goes into tangents in class which make class interesting(can be distracting at times). Study quizes/reading and you will do great. I just got an A- in MSOM305. Minimun time required to study to get good grade. ISBN 978-0-07-731833-3
Nice professor and really helpful to students. Make sure you read though, and review quizzes and you'll do fine on exams
He is really nice and cares about the students but his tests are hard and the group projects are majority of the grade.
We had two tests, a midterm and a final. Four quizzes based on articles you have to pay for. A main project and a group presentation. He's a nice guy but his lesson plan was beyond ridiculous. I managed to get an A on the midterm and screwed up the final because of the amount of material that needed to be covered in between. This class sucks..
I took this class expecting it to be a lot of fun and not ridiculously hard. His tests are so difficult and his grading system is absolutely unfair. No chance to get an A despite good midterm and final. His is a nice person but his teaching style and not good. He expects tooooooo much.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!! This teacher is nice and all but you will not do well no matter how much work you put into his class. Final and midterm are each 30% and really hard. Grading sucks.
There were 4 quizzes, 1 midterm, 1 final and group projects. The midterm and final sucked because there was so much to go over and there was limited help on the group projects. At the end of the day you should choose a better professor because if you want to learn and get a good grade, don't take this class...it's useless and a waste of time.
Study the book to do well on tests. Quizzes are slightly challenging so make sure you listen to the hints he gives you in the class preceding the quizzes. Also, although it is never mentioned in class or the syllabus there has to be some sort of curve. He is one of the nicest professors and a fair grader. You will learn so much from this class!
We had 3 tests which were all curved and 2 group projects, and if you miss class he posts his Powerpoints on Blackboard. Cheng is a super nice professor and has extensive knowledge in global marketing, but he tends to get off subject in class and it becomes a little boring.
Prof Cheng is a nice and very knowledgeable professor. However coming to class was a waste. Doesn't really teach the material and tends to ramble and rant in class. Read the chapters for the exams and the 2 projects are fairly easy too.
very nice prof... he does ramble in class and gets off subject, but is still very knowledgeable in the subject and triiies to make it interesting
Nice guy and very knowledgeable. He attempted to bring real life example and current events relating to the subject and makes it interesting.
Great professor, helps when needed and makes pretty funny jokes in class. His accent is a little tough to understand but he does speak 6 different languages so with his experence it is deff a class you want to take. His exams come straight from the book and as long as you dont fall asleep in the class you should get a good grade.
Great class. Cheng is a funny and charismatic speaker but his stories do drag on too long (better bring a laptop to surf web). His lectures are simple power point slides so study the textbook and answer his quiz problems; you can easily pass his exams. 2 group projects, 1 presentation.Cheng allows students to choose who they want to work with too.
Easy class. Don't really need to attend lecture as he goes on tangents and gets off subject easy. All powerpoints are on blackboard. If you go to the class before the test he holds the test and pretty much tells you whats on it! Very knowledgeable, overall good class
I love this professor. He is just an overall great professor; he is funny, knowledgeable, respectful, etc. He is very fair and really tries to help you.
Go to exam review.Curves. Goes through group project with you to help as much as possible. Generous.
Smart guy. Go to exam reviews.. Helps out with group projects. Curves. Funny and enjoyable.. Take him
He is funny and easy going. His exam reviews are useful but you need to read the book though. This my second time taking MKTG. I wish I took him before so I wouldn't have to take this class again. Take him.
He is very funny and talks a lot. Attendance is NOT mandatory as you will learn nothing in class. Just read the chapters and you will be fine. Get a good group too and that's it. He also gives a study guide for the tests.
His lecture format may mirror the outline of the text perfectly, but it's more like storytime from a guy who has traveled, lived, and worked all over the world. If you have any interest in doing business abroad, forget the notes and just listen to his experiences. Exams are laughably easy, between slides and him telling you every question before
I only went to class probably 5 times, but when I did he's really interesting. Although the lectures are long and can drag just stick with it. Always come the day before the exam for the review, it will help! The assignments are easy, get a good group and it will help your grade. Good guy, great teacher, highly recommended.
Sometimes goes off-topic, but his stories are rather interesting. May need to spend some time talking to him to get an answer for your question. Gives a question-by-question review of the exams, which were pretty decent. Read the textbook & you'll be fine. The only thing he's nitpicky about is the group project. Hardly went to class.
His tests are extremely easy, he goes over them the class before. The main issue is the huge group project that's split into two parts. He's very willing to help and review drafts of the project during office hours. It's just a very big project worth a big chunk of your grade. Otherwise, his lectures are interesting and I would recommend taking him
Easy marketing professor. I only attended class on days before exams. The professor gives a thorough walk through of each question on the exam. Group project is worth half of your grade. This is the only headache. But if you turn in a rough draft he will go through it and tell you what to edit.
He has a lot of experience with business and knows many different languages which makes his lectures more interesting. He uses powerpoints but his lectures stray from them often. Class consists of 2 tests, 2 individual assignments, a group project, and a final. He also tells you what is on these tests, the book is somewhat helpful.
Simply put, he's the best professor I've had at Mason!!! He was really nice and helpful with everything, actually cooperates with his students, and keeps the class enjoyable. Take Marketing with him!!
He's a very interesting guy who's willing to share his many experiences. Definitely knows what he's talking about. There is really very little that needs to be done for this class - except for one case presentation and a decent sized paper, that's really it. He rarely goes the full lecture time. Provides exam reviews too.
Amazing professor. He's very knowledgeable and have a great sense of humor. You can learn a lot from his lectures. Easy A
Not a hard class, but class consists of 3 grades: midterm, group presentation, final. He gives a thorough review of the exams, which is good, but don't slack; those 3 grades determine your class grade. In other words, do well on the 1st grade (midterm), or your chances for an A may be effected. Speaks mostly on life experiences; low textbook use.
Bright, personable, friendly and helpful. Talks a lot about his own business experience, which was mostly interesting since he has been all over the world. Summer course grades differently than spring or fall course. Reviews entire exam prior to giving it, which is a lot of material. Highly recommend Constant!
Boring class. Prof goes off tangent to personal stories which aren't always relevant to class. Exams are harder than should be, and account for a considerable % of your grade. Group project was tedious and unfair, as not everyone contributes same amt of work. Over all, didn't learn much bc there wasn't much to be learned.
Cheng is very knowledgeable and has lots of experiences to tell. Prior to exam tells what he is going to ask about(not the question) Having skimmed through chaps/slides could easily find answers. Does not babysit on the group project so whoever is a leader will prob work harder. This project became a good accomplishment story for a job interview.
Great Professor; very knowledgeable and personable; very helpful and nice; the exams are tough but manageable; you learned from this guy about how business is done internationally.
I will admit, this guy is not the best professor to teach the material. He goes off topic a lot and tests are pretty hard, but will work with you on that. Overall, not a bad professor.
He's not actually that good. He goes off topic and is hard to follow. Exams are tough and comprise of the most grade weight. If you are in the business minor, I suggest taking the elective with a different prof.
He is very knowledgeable, helpful and personable. His exam is not easy but he provides a very detailed overview for it. As long as you study, you will do well. He talks about real business situations, and uses latest news events to illustrate important international business concepts. Highly recommended.
His lectures are long and boring, but he is probably the nicest professor. Group project is long and painful since you have to work with 6 other people who may not care as much as you. Exams are easy. Take him and hope for a good group.
The exams are easy but the group project sucks. I got A's on both exams but the group project pulled down my grade to a B. If you get a good project grade you will be golden
Professor has long, boring lectures, taking 2 hours to cover 20 minutes of material. The class has a group project worth 40% of your grade, which my group got a 60 on, bringing my grade down to a C for the semester. Each group has 7 people, so it is very difficult to coordinate meetings where the majority of people can attend. Do not recommend.
Professor Cheng is very approachable and shows respect to his students. There are 2 exams, one group project and one presentation. The exams are fairly easy and straightforward. The group project will require most of the work. I highly recommend professor Cheng.
I THINK EVERYTHING WAS EASY.
Nice guy. Very knowledgeable, Extremely helpful. Exams are manageable. Real life projects and learned a great deal. Make sure you get into a good group and get ready to work hard. Excellent professor. Highly recommended.
He's nice, had trouble sometimes understanding him bt he's full of energy! Exams aren't about memorizing concepts, they're mostly applicational type (which is harder). For the 40% paper, make sure u have gd group members+DON'T TRUST THEM TO GIVE QUALITY WORK+U might end up doing their parts too! ALWAYS CHECK AND REVIEW THEIR WORK+Get an Early Start!
Don't buy the book its a waste of money. this class is really easy only two exams and two projects make sure to pick a good group that is willing to put in work to get a good grade the major project is 40% of your grade so take it seriously. he is a pretty easy grader really nice guy but his lectures are kinda pointless. his stories make you laugh.
don't waste your money on the textbook, you'll have to get in groups during the first day of class so it is a matter of luck getting good partners for the research paper, make sure to go to class before the exam for the review.
Nicest guy, tough grader!
He brings his real life experiences to the class, he has great knowledge.
Very funny guy! He tells stories during some of his lectures. His tests are manageable, and he does give a quick review before the two exams. The group project is vital in the class. Make sure you pick good members because the project paper (20 pages) is 40% of your grade!
He's alright, nothing special. He's rarely in his office, which is annoying, especially when need to ask Q's about the long mktg group proj.. Paper is such a pain headache. He was still pretty unclear on what was looking for when he gave feedback on the edited paper. The exams are ok. Overall, I was not a big fan of the class but I still expect A
A very thorough professor. Geniuenly wants each student to grasp the fundamental concepts of Marketing and developingdescribing a MKTG strategy within a group. One large group project. 2 Exams with excellent reviews that will fool you into thinking you dont need to study, you do. The exams wont ask for definitions but application of concepts.
He makes class interesting and he really cares for his students. Make sure to get a good group, mine sucked and it affected my grade. Exams are tougher than I expected but not too bad, see if you can get your hands on past exams. He doesn't normally take attendance but occasionally he took attendance to show who actually shows up regularly.
This professor is very knowledgeable, and able to link concepts to real life business practices. His lecture slides were readily available and were on the blackboard. My group project was challenging, especially when some of my group members were not cooperating and submitted poor quality work. Make damn sure that you join a good group!!!
Professor Cheng is a really funny guy and a great professor. His lectures can be boring and uninteresting but he does his best to make it fun for his students. He genuinely cares and will give you all the help you need. Make sure to get a good group because 40% of your grade is a group report. Great at replying to emails right away.
Clearly knows a lot about international marketing (speak 4 different languages), but his teaching doesn't do him justice. Try to pay attention in class because his slides are the entire final (don't need the book). Group project was challenging. He is very generous though. Gave us 20% curve on the final and also curved the class to have B average.
Group project will kill your grade!!!! Group work amounted to about half of the class grade, and it's a semester long project so if you do not have a good group it's going to be tough. His exams are also pretty tough, sometimes the questions are confusing. He's helpful but those factors are pretty hard to beat.
One of the nicest professors you will ever meet, but sadly his teaching style didn't seem to get through to me. His lectures are borderline pointless; a lot of classes he seemed to ramble on topics that didn't relate to what we needed to be learning about. Exams are tough, and make sure you have a GOOD GROUP FOR THE PROJECT (50% of total grade!!!!)
Really nice guy, pretty funny lectures, willing to help. Do not need textbook. Likes to "swedish massage" (curve) tests. Group project is a pain and worth 47.5% of grade... Good lecturer
Very tough grader. Doesn't give good feedback and assignments are pointless.
Easy A if your team up with good group project members. Recommend this professor.
Cheng is not a bad professor, he is just very laid back. Exams were online open-notes but timed. The marketing plan was dreadful because it is hard to get 7 people together to produce a 10-14 page marketing plan. If you have a good group then the class is super easy. Just 2 exams (midterm & final) and the marketing plan. He is helpful.
The professors is knowledgeable, approachable, and extremely helpful. He pushes us to achieve excellence and prepares us for our career by sharing his professional experience and insights with us. The real life Dragon Den project is demanding, but gives us an opportunity to learn how to prepare excellent presentation to prospective investors.
Cool professor! Very flexible and response! Good feedback and punctual! Grading is fair and he gives bonus marks! Awesome!
Attendance is NOT mandatory, you could skip all the classes if you want and get an easy B. The two exams are online and there is one group paper which is 2 pages per person. Definitely go to exam prep classes but all of the material on exams are in the textbook. Gives a heavy curve on exams and great feedback on the paper draft.
Kind of a weird class. We only met a few times during the semester he kept cancelling class. 2 online exams both fairly easy. Huge group project that makes up half the grade which he gives little instruction for but expects a lot.
Personally, it was the WORST class. He does not have clear messages, both when he is lecturing and when he is explaining about the grade / syllabus. It is kind of hard to understand him because he mumbles a lot and suddenly jumps from one topic to another. He grades the entire class with 2 exams (difficult) and a group project which is worth 50%
This professor will make your head spin if you want an A in this class. Class grade is based on a midterm, a final, and a group project; the later of which is graded like its a masters thesis. Both of the exams are online and open book, but they are timed and are poorly worded, so good luck! Lectures are ok, but he derails wayyy too much..
I thought this class would be an easy A, WRONG!! 2 difficult open book exams (barely passed). Lectures were super boring. You are supposed to read the book. Do not rely on this slides AT ALL! He did mention what types of questions are coming on the test, but do not get fool thinking it would be easy. Questions are timed and are showed one by one.
Excellent professor. Really care about his students and their learning. We had a real life global marketing project and learned how to do start-up funding. He is truly international and very knowledgeable. He provided clear guidelines for the project and ongoing support and feedback. He also provided excellent overview of the exams.
Lectures are long and he goes off on tangents. when he gets excited about something its hard to understand. No work except midterm, final and group project that's worth half your grade. It was an easy class but very boring. 10 slides can last him a solid 1 1/2 hours to talk about. If you're wanting an easy class this is it.
One semester-long group paper; 2 exams (midterm and final) are both online. Easy professor for MKTG303. Just find a hard-working group on the first day and do well on the exams, which all the notes are on blackboard. You cannot fail.
Very nice prof but his lectures can go dry real fast. He goes off topic a lot which makes the lecture unnecessarily long, although he ends the class early. Get a good group since group project is worth half your total grade. 2 online exams both hard. Make sure to attend the class when he reviews the exam!
The class itself wasn't too hard, there is just a midterm, final, experimatrix, and a group project (worth 50% of your grade). Just find good members and work hard on the project and this class will be a breeze. The midterm and final exams are take home, however, it will be difficult to search them on google bc he writes his own exams and its timed
Easiest Marketing professor out there! Everything can be done outside of class; online midterm, online final, and one big group research paper. He's very knowledgable and gives great feedback. Highly recommend!
Overall a very joyful professor who is passionate in the material he teaches. His grading criteria is very clear as well as the requirements for the project he assigns for the semester. Only small compliant is that his lectures can sometimes go off on a tangent that's barely related to the subject matter he's teaching. But overall very helpful.
Pretty good prof for this course, really kind but talks a lot. 2 online exams which aren't exactly a cake walk and a semester long group project which is worth half your grade so pick a good group! He also gives great feedback and sometimes gives bonus point questions on the exam. If you're on the fence for a letter grade, he will bump you up too.
Professor Cheng is a 10/10 guy and he tells lots a interesting stories during lecture. But the exams are very hard. They are online and at home but I still struggled a lot with them. Also, half of your grade is a group paper, you turn in the draft early and he gives feedback though so as long as you try you'll get a good grade on that.
There are 2 online, open book/open note exams & 1 group project. Pick your group wisely, the project counts for half the grade and does take effort. Talk to Constant throughout the process, he is always willing to help & pay attention to his feedback & your grade will be fine. Lectures are interesting and relate to the exams. Loved this class!
Professor cheng was not the best professor to teach this. I took his MBUS 303 class & it was so much better compared to this one. His exams were tricky because it didn't relate to anything he disccused. Don't even waste your time googling the questions for the exam because he makes new ones every semester. If you have the chance take someone else.
Tests were super hard and tedious. Group project counts for more than half of your grade, so get a good group. I got a 95 on the group project but the super hard tests brought me down to a B+. People said he "curves" but he didn't curve swap for me. And I didn't learn anything in this class.
Nice guy, but exams were difficult. Continuously read the textbook and study in advance!!! He curves, so do your best to get above the class average. I took both his physical and online class at the same time, and I can say that his courses are very passable.
The SONA for the department of business is NOT the same as the SONA for the department of psychology. The SONA experiments is 2.5% of your grade. Use the link he provides you and if the link doesn't work, then ask him about it. Do not go out on your own and search for the SONA experiment or else, you will receive not any credit for the experiments.
Very nice and chill guy. He can go on talking forever but never uses more than 2hrs of the class period. Tests are all multiple choice and online. One group project that is straight forward. He is an easy grader and will curve and bump up individual grades if necessary.
The exams are hard, but he is nice.
Solid choice for marketing. Make sure to choose a good group bc the project is worth 50% of your grade. Exams are take-home and online but still pretty hard and tricky.
His exams are difficult because you can't change your answers. His lectures are really interesting, and he is a fair grader for the group project that is worth 400 points, or 40% of your overall grade. He's extremely polite and he is really helpful when explaining concepts and helping people understand how global marketing works. Solid choice!
Prof Cheng is such a sweet guy, but those tests are hard!!!! I studied meticulously but still did't get an A. Make sure to read your textbook and take notes!
I have no idea how he has such a high score. His tests are absolutely impossible! I used the powerpoints, the book, and even checked online and I still could not get about a 77 on them. I studied very hard and think that the test was unnecessarily difficult. Group project is fine but get a good group. Each person is dependant on the person prior
I like him, its just that his exams are HARD. they are open note and you do not take it in class. But he makes his own exams and its hard. Get a good group, fix all of his recommendations on your project because it is 50% of your grade with a midterm and final exam. I like him he just doesn't need such hard exams for this class.
long lectures, but they are very interesting. you will learn lots of things outside of marketing. one big group project worked throughout the semester. 1 midterm and 1 final, online, open notes. kinda hard because its not just definitions you have to apply to concepts. you will pass by reading the powerpoints. the kindest professor i met!
Great prof
Managed to make the pandmic worse than it already is, very serious about the discussion board. Instead of having it as means of critical thinking and open discussion he make it like a test and you have to get the right answer. He is way to harsh, goes out of his way to prove you wrong and overall mean. Dont take him, save your life and sanity
I'm not sure if the professor is "mean," however I only spoke with him once and it was okay. The grades rely HEAVILY on the discussion posts and one group project. Tt's more of an opinionated grade but you won't fail. He doesn't give the greatest feedback, but his class in general is easy. He says textbook are "mandatory," it's really not lol.
He doesn't really teach, do not reply emails fast or his emails were not helpful. All we did was reading textbook and taking quizzes and we had group project.
He does not replies to emails or when he replies it is really not helpful, we did not have an online class time but all he provided as documents was few power points with few words on them - not helpful. Graded by few things and before you understand how he grades assignment already needs to be submitted It's like there is no professor in the class
Not much interaction from the professor due remote-learning. Not much assignments for grading either. I didn't dislike his course nor did I like it. He provided good enough feedback for the group projects, which settled my A for the course.
He goes out on a limb on our discussion posts; he marks it in a way that is absolutely unbearable. He does not allow his students to think critically, but rather expects you to get all the RIGHT answer with NO exceptions. He replies to emails with a sentence or two and does NOT care about his students. Save your GPA. - A once straight A student.
Class was one big group project, 4 quizzes, and 2 discussion posts. The DP might as well have been quizzes because there's only 1 correct answer and if you're not exactly right, he will take major points off. The quizzes were open book so as long as you read you'll be fine. However, he's rude in email and doesn't give feedback so I don't recommend
I wish I could claim that he is simply a remedial professor, but that doesn' begin to cover it. He might as well not be there, feedback is sparse. Directions for the big project are not clear. The peer evaluation is only one copy submitted as a group, which is a bizzare format for peer evals. Quizzes are easy, however there is nothing to be learned
Prof. Cheng is a solid choice. His class is easy to pass even with an A. The only items I recommend focusing on is the 2 discussion boards & group project. 4 quizzes (aka exams) are v easy & open notes. He looks for the correct answer in the discussion board post, not really on how much thought you put in. For group project, pray for a good group!
5 open note quizzes+ 1 group project pretty much make up 50-50% of your grade together. You can score a 100 on all 5 quizzes, earn full SONA credit points, but, may not get your desired final grade because of the GP which isn't fair since the whole work on the GP isn't yours. Also his grading for the GP was a bit unjustified. Overall, he's good.
There are 5 100-point quizzes (20 questions each) open note. One massive group project. That's it. The quizzes and group projects are each worth half your grade. I didn't read the textbook, just the PowerPoint slides w/ speaker notes. Project is confusing and the prof's feedback is very harsh/unclear. Project was poorly explained.
Professor Cheng is a great professor he always replies to emails very quickly. There are 5 open note quizzes+ 1 group project which is semester long.
the class is just 5 quiz and 1 group project. 4 of the quizzes were easy and 1 was hard imo. the group are chosen based on your alphabet last name. i was frustrated with my group b/c they did everything last min and i doubt we answer all prof cheng's feedback, but we still got a decent grade so im guessing he's not a harsh grader.
The weekly powerpoint slides were a joke (no VoiceOver, just walls of text) and frequently said "look to the book for further clarification." There are 5 easy quizzes, although you need the textbook as some questions are right from it. There is also a semester long group project worth 47.5% of your grade, so you better pray you get a good group
Took his class Spring 2011, MKT301. I graduated in Fall 2013. Exams are tricky. There were exam ???s where we (5 of us) made an argument and he gave us credit. In Fall 2011, long after I have completed his class, I was called 2 an honor violation that was not my fault. Prior 2 trial, I seek his advice and he guide me through it successfully.
easy quizzes. weird how he has the group project be almost 50% of ur grade. gave vague feedback, my group asked if we could set up a meeting so we could discuss the feedback/critiques but said he was unavailable ??? theres no engagement in this class, just uploads powerpoints and tells us to read the textbook.
The class only consists of 5 quizzes and a final group project. The class itself is easy, however he isn't clear with expectations and critics the smallest things ever.
I regret taking this class with this professor. Few assignments and tests weigh heavy. One big group project which he gives no outlines and no examples. Big group project worth most points. No extra credit. Did not like how the only grades are quizzes and test and one big group project. Take someone else.
The class and professor weren't bad at all. I think I just didnt like the fact that 45% of the grade was based on group projects. There are 4 quizzes you take along the semester and then a research credit that can be done through SONA.
His social media marketing class wasn't that bad. There are simulations, open-book quizzes, and group projects that make up most of your grade. His instructions for the group work can be confusing sometimes, but he tries his best to make it concise for his directions. Overall an easy and laid-back class.
This is actually for MKTG 315 but it isn't an option. This is my second semester with Prof Cheng and it was the same as last time. Everything open note, both quizzes and exams, group project easy if you make it look nice and add some detail.
Professor Cheng runs a straightforward class. Lots of quizzes and a big group project, but he's helpful and responsive. I found unstuck AI really useful for quiz prep. Definitely take it if you're up for the work.
Super easy professer, Talks a lot, But is still good. Two quizzes, a midterm, and final!
He talks alotttt ! as in he doesn't even take a breath. He goes on and on it's quite dreadful. He simple does not know how to get to the point. save yourself the time and take this course online.
He's a great professor—very talkative, so it's perfect if you prefer listening over class discussions. There's a big semester-long group project, but he gives plenty of time and guidance. Just make sure you have a good group, and he's nice about letting you switch if needed.
The textbook is key for exam success, as it covers the material you need to know. The professor provides real-world examples, but lectures can sometimes stray from the main focus. There's a big project, but it didn't seem to align much with the exams. Stay on top of the textbook readings to prepare for exams and quizzes effectively.
Easy class, be sure you get a good group
Professor Cheng genuinely cares about his students and wants to make sure they both understand the material and do well in the class. I wish his lectures were a bit more dynamic, but his real-life examples are clear and helpful. He also takes the time to talk to students after class, which shows he's approachable and invested in their success.
He's a nice guy but his online lectures are kinda boring which makes it hard to pay attention. The entire semester your grade relies on the midterm, final, and group project. The exams weren't too bad, but if you get a bad group for the project, you're cooked. He's a tough grader but a kind person and gives feedback so you can do well in the class.
