a really excellent teacher

He is from Romania and has a little accent, however, despite that he is a very good professor. He loves what he does and doesn't try to make you love it too, but makes sure to teach you and have you learn the important things that you can use in life. No homework, but show up to classes and pay attention, anything more you do will get you an A.

I took this class as part of my science classes and it was a great choice. There are a few quizzes and 2-3 exams, fairly easy. One group project, which was more of a fun project. He knows well the material and will make you understand it as well. Easy going, very approachable! I would recommend his class!

Very good professor! He is passionate about Geology and truly cares for his students. He does have an accent but it is not hard to understand. Go to class, pay attention, review power points and you will do well.

His expectations are very fair, tests/quizzes are easy if you pay attention in class and maybe do a little bit of studying. Textbooks aren't used that much, and he lets you use his in class if you don't have one. Platon is a great professor in my opinion, he's interesting, accessible, understanding, and respects his students.

Professor Platon is great! He has a really incredible sense of humor, and is very concerned about his students success in his class. He is passionate about what he teaches, and makes it as FUN as possible. Take his class, you definitely will not regret it.

OVERALL NOT A BAD CLASS. I WOULD TAKE HIM AGAIN IF NEEDED. TEST ARE SOME WHAT EASY IF YOU READ AND LISTEN TO HIM TALK. THREE TEST AND A FINAL AND A FEW POWER POINT PRESENTATIONS.

all lectures were threw power point 3 presentations easy class learning about rocks was awesome he was a great professor highly recommend taking hes class.

I took this class as a hybrid, however we literally did nothing online. Most of the class time he is talking with the class making sure that we know exactly what he is talking about. He genuinely cares about what you make in his class so you do not even have to ask he will ask you to make sure you know or not.

This professor is the best I have ever taken. He is very encouraging and want you to success. Geology is not my subject but he made it so interesting for me to understand it. This class is easy and you will love it I got B and I would take him again in the future. Please take him and you won regret his classes fill up fast.

Platon was very nice and easy to talk to. I took the hybrid class and only met once a week. He seems to be new to D2L because he hardly used it. The upside is that he is willing to work with you and the work isn't difficult. The downside is that he is unorganized and didn't take advantage of D2L. I suggest reading the chapters and going to class.

Professor Platon in my opinion was one of the best professors i've had since starting school 2 years ago. He is very passionate about the subject and wants you to gain knowledge on the studies of Geology. Attendance is graded so try not to miss class. Pay attention, do your assignments on time and you will do fine. Awesome professor.

Professor brings real world experience to the class. He also had guest speakers in the field make presentations that were very interesting. Overall I would recommend this professor and would take his other courses if needed.

Professor Constantin really enjoys what he does and makes what he does a joy to learn about. He also really cares about his students' success and will devote however much time it takes to help each one with whatever it is they are struggling with. Overall, he is an excellent professor and I would recommend him to anyone.

Professor Platon was incredibly professional but was willing to casually engage with the class with no problem. He tries to relate to the students and also makes an effort to provide an avenue for connection to himself- he had told us many stories of his adventures as a geologist, which often relate to the rocks you are studying in that lecture.

Professor Platon was amazing really enjoyed his class very friendly atmosphere. Really likes to interact with his students and them interact with him and one another. There's three presentations you have to do and 4 test all manageable if you take the time to study nothing overwhelming. Works with you on any help you need would take again!

Professor Constantin was the greatest professor. Very caring and tries to explain everything to the best of his ability. Very knowledgeable on the topic since he is a formal geologist that was out on the field. Class includes a very fun local field trip. 3 quizzes, 1 exam, 3 movie feedbacks & 4 presentations. Easy A if you apply yourself

Definitely would take his class again he was a fantastic professor. If you do the work and actually try to apply yourself then there is no reason why you would fail this class. If you are interested in learning about geology he is the best choice for sure.

Great Professor! He wants you to pass. He'll do everything he can to make that happen. He gives field trips (very fun too)! Just show up to class and you'll pass. He does give alot of presentations (4) which took away from lectures, but I took the hybrid class and he tells you to read the chapter before we go over it in class. By far my fav prof!!

This professor is very good at what he does, he has an emphasis on curiosity rather than just grades. This class consists of 3 quizzes 1 final test, and 4 presentations. This class is pretty much an A is you show up, listen and take a some notes. There is also a lot of bonus in this class too! Take this professor you won't regret it!

Professor Platon is a really down to earth and wants everyone in his class to do well. We did about 3 or 4 power points through out the class and had 3 or 4 quizzes. These are all very easy to pass. Pay attention to his lectures, jot down some notes, try your best to keep up with the chapter reading- and you'll do great. I learned a lot.

Took this class because I need a science credit, and I hate the other sciences. Just show up and participate, this is a very hands on class, he's willing to always help his students. I've appreciated everything I have learned in this class this semester.

Understands not all students are science majors and instructs to both levels. Presents the subject in an interesting and enthusiastic fashion. Opens himself up and allows the class to know him and allows us to be open and honest with who we are as well. There is a mandatory field trip, it was free and it was entertaining unless you are just lazy

Cool professor, easy class, didn't have to buy book .

He was a good teacher. It is really difficult to keep up with the material if you choose to not read the text (that he provides for you). Didn't have to purchase the book which is a HUGE plus for broke college students. Show up to class, read the material, and actually care enough to engage a little and you will pass. There is no reason to fail.

I took this class during FAll 2017 at Lonestar University Park. Its a privilege to have Prof. Constantin he an amazing instructor makes the learning fun and hands on. Which is the best way how to teach a Geology class compared to the other boring professors that give you assignments and never show you the real-life side to Geology.

Answers all of our questions in a timely manner, makes the class more fun and encourages participation which no one gets in to at first but later catch on. Very understand and straight forward. Most of the assignments are online which are fairly easy but include alot of reading. 4 Mini tests and a few quizzes. Easy class if you participate.

I took him for a hybrid class, you do need the online version of the textbook to complete work there. For the online assignments he put a lot of questions although closer to the end of the semester he gave us less. He is lenient with due dates, overall a good teacher although he is not the most organized.

Best professor I have had by far. Very caring and wants you to succeed in every way possible in his class. He knows geology very well. You do the connect text book but thats it. HIs lectures are great and he does a great job with explaining if someone has a question. 4 mini test, 2 rock quizzes, and 1 final. He even had a field trip towards the end

Hybrid class at UP, very cool guy. He is passionate about Geology which makes the class interesting and fun. 4 mini tests, hand written notes for each chapter, and create 2 power points, nothing out of the ordinary but doable. We had to buy connect access code and do the assignments on there as well.

Take this professor!! you wont regret it. You do have to use connect a lot for assignments and actually have the textbook, but you only have 4 mini test and then 2 about rocks. You get a field trip to woodlands to explore. His class is super fun, he is very caring and will work with you if you have troubles. He wants every student to succeed.

Used Connect alot in this course but it actually helps you do better in exams. Alot of reading also but only because he wants you to pass. This class has alot of material to cover but because it was a hybrid class so it took away so much free time . Worth it cause he'll pass you .

Professor Constantin is one of the most caring and understanding professors I've had. I took this as a 5 week course so there was quite a bit of homework per week but it was all very reasonable. I'm a bit sad I didn't take him for a full semester because he was very pleasant and his lectures were easy to understand and fun!

This professor is very nice, I took his hybrid class, just met few times a semester. We got two field trips, museums and woodland, those field trips are funny. Have a great time with him. But there has connect homework to do, a lots of work. Take about 3 or more hours to finish one chapter connect. But all work are due in the end of the semester.

I thought I would dread taking a geology class, but this turned into being one of my favorite classes. He genuinely cares about each student and wants to see them succeed. There is A LOT of homework, but he gives you the entire semester to do it. It is very time consuming but easy.

He is truly a great professor and makes class enjoyable. Although, if you take his hybrid class, his connect homework is extremely time consuming. It is manageable though! 10/10 great person.

He really likes to get his students involved in geology. Took a class field trip, museum scavenger hunt, and a lot of connects with hand written notes on each chapter. Lots of work nothing hard, but as long as you do it, you'll pass.

I took the hybrid class. Pretty straight forward content, online through connect. The labs were fun & informative and the professor is very helpful. Weekly tasks, but very doable. You can work ahead and finish early. 2 field trips and 13 documentaries to watch & submit summary on. Handwritten notes for each chapter. Would definitely take again!

Prof Platon is the easiest professor I have ever had. I took his hybrid class, and I do not regret it. We took quizzes through Connect, watched documentaries, and had two in-class quizzes and a test. NO MIDTERM OR FINAL!! I recommend him to someone who is taking this class for more science credits.

We do the chapters through connect and had a couple of quizzes in class. He also wants you to go to the museum and we have a class field trip to Spring Creek. It is overall a very fun class.

Professor Platon truly cares for his students, and makes this class a lot easier than it has to be! Do your assignments and documentaries that he assigns, and you should be well off in his class. There are 2 "quizzes" which are the same weight of the only exam that you will take in this class. Study and they will be easy!!!!!

14 youtube documentaries to must watch and write a reflection about each one, 19 chapters to do on Connect Program (60 - 140 questions for each chapter), 2 mandatory trips (museum and panther creek), 2 quizzes (very easy if you take notes during class), 1 test (not hard). TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! It seems like is too much and it does, but is not hard.

I took his online hybrid class most of the grades came from connect but you also had lab every Thursday. Aside from the connect hw you had a one page summary on 30 minute documentaries it was not a hard class at all you just have to do the work and he is willing to work with you.

Professor Constantin is a real gem! He really loves the topic and is engaging. The class was very enjoyable and highly educational. Quite a bit of homework, but stay on top of it and your good. We had two quizzes over minerals and rocks, which I really enjoyed. If you are questioning whether you should take him, stop and enroll already! :)

(given 4 months to complete/no problem), 14 documentaries (easy/4 months to turn in), laid back atmosphere, students set pace of this class because Prof. ask what is better for us. He is chill and doesn't stress you out about nothing. Just show up.

This professor has a passion for what he is teaching and it really shows. The information that he teaches to the students make learning about geology fun and its not just another science class. The class is straight forward come to class, study, go to your field trip and do all your assignments at a timely manner and you'll have no problem passing!

Professor Platon is passionate about Geology and does his best to show this in classes. The summer class was a hybrid class, only had to do lab once a week in campus, the rest is online. You can get an A if you do your homework and participate in class and field trip. I would definitely take another class he teaches as he is an excellent professor.

Excellent! This was a six week course, so there is quite a bit of work to be done within the six week time period but if you keep up with it, it is manageable. The actual classes are fun and informative. No reason you can't get an A if you do all the work.

I took the 6 week summer session. Although it was a lot of homework, he was a great instructor and wanted us to learn. He is a lenient grader, let us use notes for quizzes, and is passionate about geology. An easy A as long as you do the homework.

I took a summer minimester and what a normal semester would be in his class was condensed into 6 weeks. There was chapter homework that had to be completed with one page of notes on all of them and we had watch 10 documentaries and write about them. The class wasn't hard at all, an easy A. But there is a lot of work attached to a summer class .

Professor Platon, is one of the best Professors I have ever seen so far. I toke a summer hybrid Geology class with him. Hw is about average: Chapter quizzes in connect and one page handwritten summery from the book, 2 quiz for lab, final exam, Documentary videos and summery. I learned a lot in his class, he is always available via email to help.

Great teacher, accommodates everyone

Professor Platon is a very caring professor that wants his students to learn. There is a lot of homework involved but it is not necessarily difficult. 19 chapters of connect, 19 chapters (1 page) of handwritten notes, and 10 documentaries with 1 page summaries were given as the grading criteria for homework. Time consuming but as stated not hard.

An amazing teacher, loves what he teaches, we went on a class field trip. And I never thought I would enjoy learning about rocks, but he rocked it!

Mr platon was a great professor he doesnt have a ton of tests in his class and he really wants you to learn geology. I would take him again if i could. You get most of your credit from connect assignments so if u are geologically challenged u can pass just by doing the connect assignments.

Constantin is an excellent professor. He's passionate about both geology and educating and is constantly looking for feedback. Class was mostly hands-on labs, with three quizzes and three field trips . Weekly homework was eight pages of hand-written notes/sketches, and a one-page summary of a hour-long documentary. Easy and enjoyable - take him!

I would highly recommend taking Constantin's class. He is by far my favorite science teacher. If you get ahead on your chapter notes and 1 page documentaries this class will be a breeze. There are a few field trips, but they are so worth it. My favorite trips are the kayaking trip and the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Overall amazing teacher.

I highly recommend this professor. He does assign a lot of HW on note taking, but that will help you learn. He has fun field trips that will get you an easy grade. He will also work with you if you have not completed your assignments. I give him an A+!

The documentaries and note taking is a bit time consuming as someone stated but of course there will be some work, right? Professor Constantin is one of the best professors in the Lone Star College system. He knows how to make the class lively and everything is very hands on. You take multiple field trips throughout the semester which are very fun. As long as you keep up with your weekly notes and documentaries you will do just fine in this class!

The best class I have had at Lone Star. He provides a clear grading criteria and should be an easy A. His lectures are in depth and clear. Every class I left with a smile because everything we did was just fun and interesting. He has great field trips and tests that are easy if you pay attention and look over home

Super easy and understanding, most of your grades are done by notes which you do not have to be specific on(can draw pictures and do a few definitions and you'll easily get credit), quiz grades easy and most field trips, if you need a lab class and want something east TAKE HIM, if you turn in late work you get full credit, easist class ever

Fantastic professor. Teaches the material in a way that helps us stay attentive but also excited to learn more. Also extremely patient and will give time to help lead a student to success. Really wants us to succeed. Also passionate about geology and teaching. Avoided two of the closest campuses just to take this course.

Really good professor I recommend taking him I learned a lot of things and theres a fun field trip at the end. Hes very understanding and the work given is very easy just dont leave it last minute. Other than that everything is straightforward and easy.

Professor Constantin is an amazing professor. The first day of class he makes it clear what you need to do to pass the class. The class has 3 field trips with 2 with the class and 1 on your own time.

I would recommend this class to anyone with an intrest in geology. Constantin is very knowledgable and provides a great hands on, fast paced learning environment. There is bait of work but you know from day one what is expected of you and he makes it fun.

I took a 16 wk hybrid class. EASY A!!!! He was so much fun and enjoys his job, which makes the class even better! Every week there is a one page documentary to be done and 4 pages of notes, but it's really not a lot if you type them. There are 3 quizzes but they are all stuff you learn in class. Just try and be involved in lectures to learn.

One of the best professors I have ever had! I had a really tough semester with personal issues and professor Constantin was compassionate and made sure that I was able to get through and pass his class. He is not a tough grader and will review with you before every test and quiz. I highly recommend him!

I loved his geology class! He is very passionate and knowledgeable. Homework and grading were clear and easy. Class was very hands-on and quizzes were identifying rock samples, with reviews before. We did 3 field trips with easy hiking and kayaking (Constantin taught us beginners how to, and it was fun!) Don't hesitate to take Constantin's class!

Professor Constantin is a very fun outgoing person, he is always making sure you understand the subject and asks if there's anything he can do to help you and make the class easier. Constantin wants his students to succeed, have fun, and explore the world around them. Our class was scheduled to do 5 field trips- all worth 8% of the overall grade. Most of the points come from field trips- while attendance is worth 6%, tests (2) 8% and a few quizes (7%). You'll also have to take weekly notes and watch one documentary a week.

Professor Platon is awesome! Take the time to actually do the chapter notes. If you just skim through instead of actually reading the chapters, you won't pass the tests. The two quizzes are easy! Constantin is such a great guy and his style of teaching is very personal. He gives you examples of where he has been with pictures to kind of get a feel of what the subject is. He is so nice and it's an easy A for sure. Just go to class, participate, and do the chapter notes he asks of you. No test review but there are old tests on his d2l to help

The class in general was easy. The class was converted to fully online because of COVID-19. I would not recommend taking his class online because some of the lessons are not easily understood without being in person. I would stay on top of his class because it goes by fast (at least during the summer). The last 2 lessons were difficult for me!

The assignment are fairly easy, although there is a lot of work to do. Class is very time consuming. He also requires us to take 4 field trips that are major grades. A lot of them are very far and costly. Other then that he is a nice guy and grades very easily.

Professor Constatin is very enthusiastic about teaching geology. He gives great feed back and is easy to reach put to when lost on assignments.

I highly recommend Professor Constantin. He is very organized and gives clear instructions on assignments and grading system. My class was a 6-week summer course so a lot of material was covered per week. He does give the opportunity to catch up if you fall behind but of course, that will depend of the assignment you are behind on.

Easiest Geology class ever. You can pretty much BS everything and still get an A. You don't need to read the textbook. Use large font for the notes and documentaries. Some of the labs can be a little tricky, but they're not terrible. Test 1 was a breeze, the answers were all online. Test 2 was a lot harder since it wasn't MC but not impossible.

If you have the chance to take him ABSOLUTELY DO. Just keep up on your homework! Its not hard but it will be alot if you haven't kept up. Super flexible, will work with you, wants you to succeed. And has a really cool accent! Also we got to go kayaking, hiking, and on feild trips to museums.

Prof. Platon is an instructor who cares more about hands-on learning than book-learning. There was a field trip to Panther Creek, a kayaking trip that was canceled, and self-guided trips to the Space Center and HMNS. There are weekly summaries of video documentaries and notes on chapters. This is a good class to fill a science requirement.

Although it's an online class, he does assign field trips. If you can't make it, he will provide replacement assignments. Communication is key, the sooner you ask, the sooner he'll get back to you. Otherwise, you may not get a timely response. Overall, I did actually learn about Geology and did not just do assigned work.

Lots of note taking on each chapter in the book, easy grade though since its for your own studying. Field trips are fun, better than the alternate assignment. 2 tests for the whole semester, 6 labs, and many documentaries to Youtube and write a paper. Overall, do the work, get a good grade.

This is my second time taking a class with this professor. Overall if you do the work you will pass. A very caring professor will work with you to help you succeed.

I took Professor Platon for GEOL 1403 as my last credit of science. Amazing! Scavenger Hunts and Field Trips were really cool, and as long as you go over the stuff on the textbook, labs should not be that difficult. What a nice class for my last semester at LSC!

The class is easy. Handwritten chapter notes and 1 page documentary summaries due every week. 2 tests for the whole semester. 4 field trips but he gives the option to do make-up assignments. field trips are easier than the make-up assignments so i would recommend to go if you are able to. 6 labs, which were the only part i found somewhat difficult.

Professor Platon is a great professor to take. He is very compassionate and lenient/understanding with deadlines. Answers emails within 24hrs sometimes less and always has a clear and helpful response to any questions. I took Geology 1405 online and it was not difficult.

The overall class was not too bad. Got textbook homework every week and had to write one-page essays on top of that. The tests aren't too hard, and the labs were fine as well. THERE ARE FIELD TRIPS, and if you don't participate in them there are replacement assignments. Overall not a bad class, he might take a little while to reply to email though.

Professor Platon was a very friendly professor and I enjoyed his online class for the most part. It would be a much easier class to take in person. There is a lot of homework so be prepared to work hard and to attend the field trips. He was lenient on due dates, cared about your feedback, and was willing to help in any way possible.

Not sure if it was the Covid hybrid format of the class, but this dude was super unorganized and it made the whole semester confusing. I will say he's seems super cool, but didn't do much teaching... I would recommend taking him when we're able to take in-person classes again.

I took this class because I need a science credit and I walked into it thinking it was gonna be slight easy work since I THOUGHT it was going to be a blowoff class but he makes you do handwritten notes, 4 pages per chapter, labs and you have to watch documentaries and write a single paged paper on it. He is a good teacher just too much work

You can really tell that Professor Platon loves geology and he brings his enthusiasm into the class environment. We had some outdoor activities that were really fun! Keep up with your weekly assignments and you'll do fine.

Professor Platon was great, he was kind but also made sure students knew what was expected. There is quite a bit of homework due each week but it is mostly busywork. The final and the labs are the most difficult assignments throughout the whole class.

I absolutely loved this class! Professor Platon has such a strong passion for Geology. This was a hybrid class so we did our labs in person and our other materials at home. There are 16 chapter notes, 10 video documentaries, and a few ID challenges. I 100% recommend taking him!

He goes by the syllabus and follows the deadlines and material of the syllabus impeccably. I recommend him as a professor because he is caring of the students wellbeing. I took his online environmental geology course over the spring semester and with all that happened with COVID I'll give him a break. However, he did not upload the syllabus for weeks, won't respond to emails for ages, so much busywork, missing hw links, took vacation week before finals, and didn't give any grades until after finals week. Constantin is really, really great. Everything from due dates to percentages for the work is all in the syllabus. There are four types of classwork: book notes, exercises, ID challenges and movies (+ an one-page paper for each) The work is mostly easy, but don't let things pile up. Also get ready to see geol puns and jokes when you get feedback.

I took Professor Platon's class fully online. The syllabus was very clearly outlined. He left funny and inspiring feedback on assignments. If you do the work and turn it in on time, then you will be fine! I am just bummed I wasn't able to participate in the optional educational kayaking trip due to prior engagements. I would take him again.

I had convinced myself many times throughput this semester that I was just going accept the F for all of my classes because I was under so much stress, but Constantin was so persistent, forgiving and incredibly encouraging. He didn't let me give up. He had no idea how much I wanted to give up, he just genuinely cares about his students success.

I really enjoyed this class. I used the textbook quite a bit. But I know classmates who didnt use it. So its pretty much preference. Powerpoints are given and helpful. Youre required 4 pages of notes per chapter but that includes words and pictures. There are several short summaries of documentaries. But as long as you do them youll be okay.

He was always super kind and accessible! If you try, then you will pass. Moreover, he gives great feedback with funny jokes. We need more professors like him, and I encourage you to learn the material as it is pretty interesting and gives you a new perspective on the world.

There is a bit of work and some of it can be confusing but I feel like that's just something you have to accept for a college course. His content tab on mylonestar wasn't very organized but everything you need is there, he also doesn't put in grades very fast. When grading he gives little corny jokes for you to read that can be cute and funny.

I took him for a full semester 4 pg of written notes on 19 chpts 1 pg sumry of 6 Documentaries he said he usually does 10 tho 4 ID challenges 10 exercises midterm and final. It is very time consuming but he does open everything on the first day so you can finish everything within a couple weeks. He cares about his students and would recommend him.

You can tell he loves his job and really cares about his students! He also has killer puns. The only thing I would say is that the course is homework-heavy, but that is because he wants you to learn. He is also a pretty easy grader. I wish I could have taken this class in person rather than online, though. He truly was a real "gem." ;)

Nineteen chapters of handwritten notes, ten documentaries with a summary for each video, two labs, four challenges, and two exams. It is a lot of assignments but is doable. The professor is very nice, and he is understanding. Glad I took this class during the summer mini-mester.

While Professor Platon's class will teach you what you need to know about geology, you must have lots of time in the week to complete the work he assigns. Especially the required notes that must be extremely detailed.

I took Geol 1403 in the summer of 1 of the 2022 semester. Geol 1403 class in the summer section was easy to take online courses. To pass the class you must do all the assignments and tests on time. Mr. Platon is a great professor that cares about his students passing and success.

Honestly, Professor Platon is pretty laidback and easy going this one of the easiest classes at Lonestar that I have ever enrolled in everything was pretty straight forward if you want an easy A finish the work in a timely matter he accepts late work, but don't take advantage of it other than that yall be easy.

UPDATE, alright don't get me wrong if you take any six-week course stay on top of it, however, this professor is a phony and not a man of his word he will turn in grades early way before the due date he did that to me and submitted final grades early before the due date and took a trip to Romania without any communication. Professor Platon's class was very easy and he made it super fun to learn about geology.

Professor Platon was great and made Geology fun! This class is not difficult, but be prepared to handwrite notes with colored sketches from the textbook. Required to watch several documentaries and participate in labs. Its a lot of work, but if you complete the assignments correctly, submit on time, you will get full credit. Easy A+

Professor Platon's class was not difficult at all. I was taking 3 other classes in addition to this one and I was able to balance it all well. The assignments were a bit lengthy but easy. The documentaries were very educational and interesting, I enjoyed watching them all. Overall, he is a great professor, I would definitely take his class again!

2 chapters per week (most weeks), 4 pgs handwritten notes per chapter, 1 documentary per week (most weeks), 6 labs, 1 midterm, 1 final. Its a lot of work but its doable. You'll get used to the course load and thrive. He grades very lightly, if you do the work & turn it in on time, you get an A. TAKE HIM!!! Also, non proctored tests so no pressure.

A very consistent amount of homework every week, so you know what to expect. Not hard work, but a solid amount. Do the work, turn it in, show you tried, and you will get an A. He is very personable, so he will understand if you email him to ask for an extension. Also very accessible through email outside of class and responds quickly. Take him.

Professor Planton works hard to make sure that each of his students succeed in his class. He is ready to answer any and all questions just about any time of day within reason obviously.

A good amount of work required, but none of it is impossibly hard. Probably the most understanding Professor ive ever taken in regards to not making his class stupidly difficult for no reason. Entire semester is laid out in the schedule with whats due and when its due by. Mid term and final were very reasonable.

Professor Constantin was one of my favorite professors I've had so far. His GEOL 1403 is a great class to take if you need an easy credit for your major. Just submit your work on time and show a bit of effort and he will give you all 100's. If you take the 16 week class I'd say its about 2-4 hours of work per week.

This professor is more material focused rather than test focused, so he actually cares about your engagement. You can definitely tell he loves his subject, because he makes you want to actually try and learn in his class. Really great professor, 10/10 would take again.

This professor does show that he cares about his students as he will work with you if you need more time to get your assignments done. You can also email him with questions about your assignments although email is the only way to reach him which is a downside. 4 page notes and Sketches and 1 page summaries are time consuming but are easy to do.

I really enjoyed my class with Professor Platon! It is a good amount of work and can be difficult if you have other classes BUT you are given a clear schedule for the entire semester with every due date and if any changes are made, you are told a few weeks in advance. There is a decent amount of work throughout the week, but its nothing that is too difficult just notes over a couple of chapters and 1-2 assignments a week if that. 4 pages of notes are required for each chapter but he allows for you to draw sketches as well so that helps. Only 2 tests and they are very simple and open notes.

Professor Platon is a gem and truly loves his profession! He provides detailed feedback for every assignment, posts weekly updates, and is easily accessible. If you manage your time and plan accordingly, you can complete this class with an A+.

Professor Platon's class was great. He was very fair with deadlines and grading, and during in-person classes, he provided a laidback but fun approach to the material that he was clearly quite passionate about. I had the privilege of taking a class with Professor Constantin and it was an amazing experience! Professor Constantin's passion for the subject matter was evident in every lecture and discussion, and they went above and beyond to make sure every student had a clear understanding of the material.

Constantin was a wonderful professor. In-class time is limited so if you have questions be sure to ask them then. He emphasizes that it is a lot of assignments but if you plan ahead it should be no problem as they are not that hard. Don't let the work pile up and reach to out to him if something looks wrong or doesn't make sense.

Constantin was one of the most fun and sunny professors I've ever had. I never was irritated to come to his class as I was with some others, and I'm genuinely sad that it's over. Constantin was a super funny, friendly, and knowledgeable professor who really wants students to succeed. There are many assignments due each week but if you keep on top of it you should have no problem. you should email him if you run into any issues for the fastest solution. focus on the quality of your worth rather than quantity.

He cares about his students and is a very easy grader! Assignments are not difficult, but there are a lot of assignments and they are long. You HAVE to have the textbook to pass. Attendance is never required and he is very lenient on due dates. Very easy 4th or 5th "easy" class to add on to a semester where you have harder classes.

A very interesting course! Professor Planton is an incredibly intelligent man with such a passion for this subject! Each week there are two chapter readings with required notes to submit as well as one-page documentary summarys. He is very passionate about his field. He encourages us to learn on our own by reading and doing the material and taking notes. He requires drawings too which are fun. I learned a lot in this class, at my own pace and reading the material was very informative. But, I am also a reader so that suited me very well.

He is a great teacher! It takes some time to get used to his online layout, but once you do it is easy to follow along. He is very understanding and gracious when you are unable to complete all your homework by the due date. I would take his class again.

I loved this class! It was challenging but in a good way! It made me think and learn but also gave me the flexibility and freedom to learn my way and not feel pressured/stressed. This professor is very caring! He doesn't grade harshly but does give out a lot of assignments. For a semester long course, the work is doable but it is very intense during summer sessions if another class is being taken. The class consists of 4 paged notes for 19 Chapters, 6 labs/worksheets, 2 exams and 10 documentaries with essays.

This class is by far one of the best classes i have ever taken, Professor Constantin does a great job of using different types of assignments to make sure you learn the material. He is an easy grader and is very understanding as long as you communicate with him. Take his class you will do well!!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed Prof Platon's class! This class was very intense, but I took it as a 6 week summer course. As long as you try your best, you'll do well. Some of the assignments were formatted in a weird way and I had to handwrite my test answers. You'll need a PDF scanner app (ie. GeniusScan) and colored pencils for notes. A pretty easy A!

Professor Constantin was wonderful. He was very understanding and respectful. I chose not to do some of the assignments because I did not agree with the teaching and did not want to write about something I did not believe. I enjoyed this class a lot and would definitely recommend it as a summer coarse. It is just a lot of easy busy work.

Prof. Platon was great. Very organized and responded in a very timely manner. I took his six-week summer course so it was a bit intense, but it is doable as long as you stay on track. The material is not hard, it is just a lot for such a short amount if time but I enjoyed it and I think he did great as a professor. Pretty fast grader as well.

Insane amount of work. 8 pages of notes a week plus 10 total documentary summaries. textbook is around $50, can get it cheaper which was nice. PRofessor was nice but this is way too much work for this type of class.

Professor Constantin is an excellent professor. Assignments are simple. You need the textbook because the the main assignments are the chapter summaries. There are two exams midterm and a final. . The Professor is very understanding and easy to reach via email if you need more time for assignments or need help.

There were 10 documentaries to watch, write a summary along with our own opinion as to how it relates to life. 17 Chapter Handwritten notes. I think there were 4 small labs and 2 major labs. Only 2 exams. Overall, just do the work and you will pass. He does reply quickly to any questions. He is friendly and tries to be relatable.

I took an online class from him. It was a pretty fair class, wasn't difficult nor easy. As long as you do the work you will do good. His sometimes a little late to keep the grade book updated. Also he is great at replying to you fast and is very understandable. 10/10 recommended him.

Surprised at how generous other reviews are. Disorganized, almost entirely self-taught, professor doesn't care about the work as long as it's done, a lot of writing especially for a geology class. Textbook required, used for handwritten + colored notes. Labs were difficult, materials unhelpful. Quizzes/tests open, easily answered by Google/Quizlet.

As long as you do your work, you'll get full credit for it. As for textbooks you can buy it if you want but you can just write the 4-page handwritten notes through his textbook slideshow he has on his course. Handwritten notes are not hard just takes a bit of time.

Professor Platon has been overall great in the GEOL-1403 course. This course is filled with different material and assignments that make it interesting and keeps you on your toes. I really enjoyed the ID challenges as I got to test my knowledge in an actual practice. Furthermore, expect to hand write a lot notes and sketches using different colors.

Professor Constantin was a breath of fresh air. I took his Environmental Geology class, and then his Historical Geology class. Notes for every chapter, responds back to emails quickly, understands there is life outside of school, and understands when things come up. Not proctored.
