Interesting class and very helpful teacher. All exams are take home. If you come to class, take good notes, do the readings and follow the directions in the test you will do well. The only ones who flunk are the ones that do not try.

Dr. Wayland is a good teacher, but this subject was boring. She tries hard to make it interesting, though, with stories about her time in South America. She is pretty funny also. I liked the instructor but not the class. The tests are fairly hard, so study.

This material is really interesting and if you go to class and take notes then you won't have to study all that much to make an A on the tests, her questions come straight from the notes and videos.

If she's teaching the class, take it. I don't care what it is. Methods in Researching Animal Dung, whatever. She's nice, she's hot, and she makes the material interesting.

Prof Wayland is awesome! Very easy to understand. Come to class and take notes, and you should do okay. She makes Anthropology interesting, and spices it up with great class participation examples, and stories of South America. Highly recommend her!

Take notes, study the study guide that she gives you and you have an A/B in the course. It's that easy. She's a cool professor and puts all notes on overhead. If you have to take Anthro, take her! I got a B and never read the book. You do need it for your study guide though.

Excelent professor, I recommend all of her classes. She is the reason I decided to major in anthropology. Very interesting stories/lectures. Be prepared to write papers and take notes. You have to study and attend class to pass. Very willing to help individual students. Wonderful person.

Great class, if you show up everyday, read the chapters, and know what the terms on the review sheet mean, it will be an easy A. She's very interesting and draws from personal experience.

This class was pretty easy.I recommend making flashcards for the tests, you will remember the terms better. You can skip class, but i wouldn't recommend it too many times b/c everything on the tests is not in the book.

Awesome professor, by far my favorite and the best in the entire anthro department. She's the reason Anthro is my minor. You learn so much, and she helps you every step of the way. If you have the chance to take one of her classes- do it!!!

Very easy class and interesting too. no need to go to class as long as you get notes from someone. she doesnt take attendance. just study notes well and you should do well on the tests. she only gives one extra credit option for 2 points on final grade. you have to speak in class at least 4 times throughout the semester but not all in one day.

This teacher rocks! At first when I realized I was going to be learning about dieases I had no idea how I would like this class, but this class is soo interesting. GO to class, take the notes, and your set! She's funny and makes it interesting! Because of this awesome teacher I am considering changing my major...take this class!!!

Best class Ive had yet, best professor Ive had yet, I love her, Im looking to take more classes with her.There are 3 tests and a final, if you dont like studying and actually learning dont take her.

She is a great professor and really cares about what she teaches. Her enthusiasm for the subject comes through and makes the class fun to go to. Attendance is not required, but if you wanna do good on the tests, having all the notes is a must!On that note tests are a little challenging but an A or B is still easy as long as you have all the notes

I thought because this was a LBST that it would be easy...but it was kinda tough. Don't let that stop you from taking it though! Wayland is a GREAT professor. Offers extra credit, and gives GREAT lectures. The class is very interesting. You can't just look at the notes...you have to reallly study to make an A. Altogether, I really liked the class.

Great teacher, beats the information in your head so you can't forget it. Movies are boring, but informational if you can stay awake=test questions do come from movies, notes, lectures, and readings...if you want an A do what she tells you. Easy class, 3 tests and a final, extra credit is available. Take her!!!

I took her class during the summer, which was a good idea. Her extra credit was easy to get, and the tests were straight from the notes. She put her notes in a Power Point presentation which made it even easier. Definitely write down what she TALKS about, not just what is on the slides. Overall, go to class and study and you will do fine.

Am amazed by comments below (and suspect they're from 1 person based on their bizarre and personal nature). Wayland is 1 of the best profs I have had. Her classes aren't easy but if you come to class and read you will do fine. She is also one of the nicest and most approachable profs I have had. Made me want to take more classes with her.

I love taking her classes. She clearly loves what she is doing. I dreaded having an 8:00 class but she made it easy to come to class. If you come to class and do the reading her classes are an easy A or B.

If her pict wasn't on the page I would think the folks who hate her were rating the wrong prof. I think she is AWESOME. Changed my view of childbirth. Class was a lot of work but it was not hard. She was flexible and gave extensions when asked. Also got rid of an assignment. Does take a while to return graded work though.

This is the best class I have had. I thought it would be a waste of time but I ended up looking forward to each class. She is an amazing professor who really cares about her students.

This class is cake if you go. Her lecture is the exam, she gives you a study sheet that includes all the terms (from Wiki). First day she says come and do well, don't come and you won't...with that said if you go easy A.

Took a grad class with her and she changed my career. I took her mylast semester of and decided to pursue a Ph.D. in Women's Studies. She is challenging and will push you to consider new view points. If you want a blow-off grad class this is not for you. But if you relish a chanllenge & do the work she will change the way you think.

Great professor. Incredibly knowledgeable, she welcomes questions and answers them effectively. Attendance is not mandatory but if you go, you develop a better understanding of the course! No final if you have an "A" average after the first 3 tests-she gives extra credit for those who speak in class and sometimes those who show up-so go!

She is a great teacher! I loved her class it was really interesting. There is a lot of material so study more than one day in advance for the tests.Try to do well on tests bc if you have an A by exam time you can exempt it. Make sure you do her easy extra credit by asking questions in class because you can get 2 points on you total grade added.

Great and challenging teacher. You do need to go to class because part of your grade is class participation. Very cool and different type of class. No lecture at all.

Awesome professor! Her class was really fun and she made it very interesting. 3 tests, all multiple choice and a final at the end. If you end her class with an A, you don't have to take the final. Easy quizzes each week that come from online reading that can improve your grade! Attendance was not mandatory, but it was always a good class period!

Amazing professor!! There was a lot of reading in the Fieldwork Methods class, but not too much to handle. Very interesting, laid-back, easygoing, and pretty. Doing the work was easy because of the rewarding discussions during class. She knows what it's like to be a student and will work with you if needed. Excellent Professor!!

3 multiple choice tests, weekly moodle quizzes, and a final group poster. 1/3 of classes are online. overall, easy class. lectures are longer than they have to be, and most of the material can be found on wikipedia. a lot of test questions come from moodle quizzes and online movies. go to the review sessions before the tests; they give you answers.

Super easy class. Group work makes it even easier. No final exam, just a poster project that everyone does well on, because the other students grade you. Definitely take this class.

LBST 2101- Epidemics. Nice teacher, but a very strict grader. The TA (ms. Angie) is awesome. She is great about answering emails and will basically do anything to help you. Professor Wayland is okay. There are not very many lectures, most are e-classes. There are weekly quizzes on the material. You MUST read the material to pass the quizzes.

I took Epidemics. Interesting class! But you HAVE to read the material and watch the videos she posts on Moodle or you will NOT pass the quizzes. I didn't read the first quiz and made a 50. I started reading though and made A's on all the rest of them. Dr. Wayland and the TA (Ms. Angie) are both VERY nice!!

Do not take this class unless you are really interested in Birth and Pregnancies of other cultures. There was a total of five or six books for this class and homework and/or group projects weekly. She takes attendance and participation very seriously but she also gives "Good Karma" points for different reasons. The reading was tremendous.

Don't take this if you are looking for a blow off class. Requires a lot of work but is extremely interesting. This is the first class that has helped me improve my writing and I have learned a lot about population problems in the country I am studying. If you want to learn and are willing to work you will be rewarded. Slackers beware!

This was a great course but required a lot of dedication to complete assignments each week. All work built upon previous work and if you dedicated yourself, you should earn an A. It is definetely an Earned grade. Expect to work but you will come out of the class with a better understanding of the important global issue of population.

In the class I took group work was required but was set up in a way that made working with other students easier than alone. You do have to do some work to get an A but it's worth the effort.

She is extremely knowledgeable about the course material and very enthusiastic in teaching it. She is very helpful and generally just an awesome professor.
