Professor Corby was very helpful and alwyas available to students via email or phone. He made public speaking fun. Concepts from the book were applied to real-life scenerios and the material was interesting. The focus of the class was interpersonal communication. I'm soooo glad I took this professor! The best I've had at ever! Also, very hot!

He is a very good teacher. I recommend him to anyone who has to take this course. I had to take public speaking and speech class and after having him in public speaking i arranged my school schedule around his speech class because i knew it was gonna be another good class.

Prof. Phillips is the BEST! Had him for SPC2608. While you have to do some work, it's totally manageable and he is flexible. Only two tests (midterm and final) and they are all multiple choice questions. One thing though - he does not play with attendance. You must be on time and come to class regularly. Attendance is key to earning an A.

The teacher is a very well-rounded teacher. He's elaborate and clear in his topics. For those of you out there with common sense assisted with a little bit of IQ, your class grade will be a simple reflection of your attendance in this class because he's so elaborate in class that your notes should 100% cover every test question there will ever be.

I have to say that Prof Corby is cone of the best communications teacher at MDC. Prior to taking this class I hated giving speeches but with the tools he provided us in class now I can say that I love presenting. The professor is very effective at teaching the material and uses the utmost clarity in it's presentation. It's very fun to be in his class, and if I had taken the course with any other professor, I doubt would have learned as much material than with Prof. Corby. He is also very good looking.

I took SPC 1017 once every weekend in a short span and I must say, you will never have another professor like Professor Corby! He takes an intermediate class and makes it easy. He really knows the content and simplifies it that even a baby can understand. Finally, he is flexible to work with. Just show up, do what he says and you'll be great.

One of my favorite professors! Awesome awesome awesome! Helps in any way he can. easy assignments. pay attention in class amd show up and you will pass. must do the assignments given don't be lazy either.

His class lectures were always funny and kept you engaged. He helps out the best he can with anything. He didn't make me feel uncomfortable for being a nervous wreck! Instead he helped cope and brightened up my day as he does with the rest of the class! Absolutely amazing professor, TAKE HIS CLASS!

Professor Phillips is awesome. His lectures are clear and concise. Gives reviews for tests, and is extremely helpful when presenting your speech. I loved his class. He makes it very interesting and he is easy on the eyes. I highly recommend taking his class.

Great and hilarious lectures that really help you remember the material. his tests are all online so by not coming and using quizlet or the book for answers you can definitely pull off a 90%. you dont really need the book if you do come to class and take nots on the lecture. Few assignments.

I had Prof Phillips for SPC1017. His teacher style is interactive with the class. He is open to questions and gives honest opinons. There is two papers to do but if you put a little work it is easy to do. The way the class flows it feels organic and helpful to grasp complete understanding of how as humans interact with each other in speech.

My second attempt to pass SPC 1017 was in Professor Corby's class during Summer B. By far, the best professor I've had. You'll learn a lot, he's approachable, and he provides excellent feedback. You must attend his lectures if you want to pass the exams, but it's worth it!

When it comes down to taking his class i wish i could take his class again for a different subject.
