I had Corey for Com 101 and for Communication Theories, and he was awesome. He has an enthusiastic style of teaching, he is brilliant, and easy on the eye to top it off. I HIGHLY recommend taking a class with him if given the opportunity.

This man is a complete genius-I only wished that I could of taken his class as a freshman so I could of actually opened my mind to what was actually happening in the world around me. He's brilliant and one of GVSU's finest.

This is my second class with him in my 4 years at GVSU. He is, BY FAR, the best professor I have had. He is a great person as well. He makes you think, he is extremely knowlegeable and intelligent and he makes you excited about learning.

He has to be THEE hottest prof. @ GVSU!!! yeah, kinda skinny like the other person said but, he is so smart that it charms ya!

This has to be one of the greatest teachers at GV. His teaching style never allows you to get bored, and every class is interesting. At the end of each class, you are guaranteed to have learned something new.

I took this class twice-weekly, four hours each session. Despite the long class time, Prof. Anton never failed to captivate me. He has fantastic insight and really values what the students have to share. And yes, he is good-looking. Very humorous. His wife is a lucky lady. :)

This was the hardest class I have taken so far, but Corey made it the most rewarding! It was so worth all the hard work. His insights are captivating and classes are always entertaining. His is such a sweet guy and genuiely loves what he teaches.

This was the hardest class I ever had. It was also the best. If I learned anything that was worth remembering at GVSU it was all from him! Take his course and read his book! I finished at GVSU a year ago and would recomend him to upper class man.

This class forces you to apply yourself. Take him if you can, I have never learned so much. Class was very interesting. He made class fun, he even juggled once! Definitely take Anton.

This was by far the hardest class I've ever taken @ GVSU. I also learned the most in this class. Although the subject matter is difficult, Corey does a fantastic job @ making it applicable and understandable. This course truly forced me to think in ways that I didn't have experience with before.

You have to take this class before leaving Grand Valley. He has a great teaching method. Every class is interesting. Assignments are hard and require a lot of effort and thought... but I guarantee you, its worth it!

This is the best professor I've ever had at GVSU! He's not easy by any means, but he really has passion for what he teaches. He actually respects his students, and WANTS us to understand. No college career is complete without one of his classes!

I loved his class. I wish I had paid more attention and tried to understand the material better than I did.

This is not only a course you should experience, it is one that you will continue to live after you are done. Taking Corey's class was the best thing I have ever done for myself. If you can't take his class, I highly recommend reading his book, Selfhood and Authenticity. For your own sake, check this class out. It has seriously changed my life.

Corey knows SO much and just wants to share what he knows. He's a lot of work, but worth it. He wants his students to do well.

I took Anton for 295 and 380, and when you read reviews about his class being hard, its true, its hard. Yet anyone who complains about how hard it is, just wanted to take an easy class. Anton's class will change your life and make you a better student, and a better person. You will think about life in a different way. Seriously Amazing prof.

Corey is a good prof, however he is challenging. His class requires a lot of reading. His quizs and tests can be challenging as well. I did not do as well is his class but that was my own fault. I hate comm. classes. I did terrible in 101. But Corey made this class interesting. Hard work, read the articles. You'll do great on the exams if you do. One paper, and exams are half take home. Ask him to juggle. He's a great guy and really tries to put things in perspective for you.

I have had Dr. Anton for two classes, and they were some of the best ones I've taken at GV. Start the class prepared that you will have to work A LOT, then you will learn a lot. Ask questions if things are unclear and work with other students to prepare for exams!

Dr. Anton is the best professor I have had at GVSU. I am normally a straight A student, but in his classes I know I've earned my A- or B. He's definitely not a "group hug for the easy B" prof as he puts it, but he is a person that challenges you and cares about you. But, if you care more about your GPA than what you learn, don't take his classes.

Anton, is intimidating, that much is true. But his lectures are so engaging and conversational, that you take away so much from the class. He is extremely knowledgeable and there is not a day I don't leave class with something to think about. TAKE HIM. He is going to change the world. GVSU got lucky by having this professor teach at their school.

Amazing Professor. Definitely wasn't sure of the class before I signed up, but I am thankful that I did. No real textbook used, but the readings he assigned were amazing. His class makes you think a lot, and changes the way you think. Very animated, funny, and interesting.

One of my favorite profs so far at GV. He's clearly interested in what he teaches, and it shows. He explains things very well, though you still need to do the reading to do well. Overall, this is really one of those classes where you get out what you put in. Do the readings, take good notes, and you'll have a good experience with it.

You can easily see how passionate he is about the subject. He really knows what he is talking about. It takes a little bit to get past his quirkiness but is overall a great teacher and class. I thought the class would be difficult but with him as the professor it actually wasn't too bad to understand. He's always willing to answer questions too.

I loved Corey Anton, he knows exactly what his talking about. The reading are a little hard to understand but that's exactly why you want to work harder to comprehend them. Syllabus says pop-quizzes but he actually let's you know when they're gonna be. Overall I learned so much, even beyond communication.

Corey is such a good guy. Honestly, he really cares about his students and he is very intelligent. I learned so much from him and the way I think is completely different after this class. Incredible prof. You have to read a lot in his class. It is not books, but readings online. Tests are 5 multiple choice, one short answer, and three essay.

Prof. Anton was one of the best and most genuine professors I've had at Grand Valley. He is so enthusiastic and cares deeply about the discussion and understanding of the curriculum. His class was and the material that he had us read was challenging but though provoking. All but one of the pieces you read are posted online on BB.

Dr. Anton really cares for his students, but only if you put the effort in. He makes a 3 hour class actually fun and is able to relate the course work to our daily lives. He also loves to rant about societies problems, especially millennials, which is really funny

Corey Anton is a great professor. Easy A. Midterm and Finals you read you all good. Very clear. Get out of class early. Take home portions for Midterms and finals really easy basically the class is you read and explain what you think the author is trying to say in the reading in short paragraphs. I would take this class over again.

Even though this was a COVID-19 semester, Anton did such a great job trying to make it somewhat normal! He is easily approachable and wants to help you succeed in his class. He knows that this is a hard class and you have to put in the work but he will help you with whatever often. Overall, really great professor and a really interesting class.

Anton is a nice guy and you can tell he loves teaching, but the class itself is very repetitive and it made me dread going to any lectures. Assignments are easy but you have to take a quiz before every single class period. I would still recommend, maybe his teaching style is different in real-life lectures vs Zoom lectures.

Anton is very great guy and makes you think outside of the box with his readings. You have a new reading passage every week along with a quiz before every lecture about the reading. This can get really get repetitive which can sometimes not keep you focused on the lectures. Anton is very genuine and he wants to help you succeed!

He is very passionate about everything he teaches. The class was only 100 points and he rarely ever gives 100% on any writing assignments. Every class period we had a reading and quiz but they were interesting and his lectures were fantastic when discussing them.

This class mostly consists of quizzes for every reading. The midterm and final together are 60% of your grade. Quizzes and exams are open book / open note, but if you're not doing the readings or paying attention in lectures, it will be hard.

Literally 60% o his students do not deserve to have him as their professor. He is the most caring prof on campus about students well being and being in the class as well as he it a literary genius and author of multiple books, I couldnt recommend someone more.

Such a good lecturer. The material definitely requires more effort but he helps in any way he can. There's paper, two exams, and weekly quizzes on readings. Also have to lead two reding discussions but it isn't formal. He really does care about his students and how he can help them. The environment he created for the class was very comforting!!

I had professor Anton for COM371 as well. He is awesome. There is a reading before every class period followed by a 5 question quiz. This can get repetitive and the readings can be really long and boring. However, his lectures are so intellectually stimulating and he explains the readings really well. Love him!

Professor Anton is highly passionate and tends to keep class interesting. The course structure is pretty repetitive, but the course load is manageable and the conversations in class were interesting. Definitely a qualified professor for the subject, I would highly recommend Anton.

Every class period has a reading and quiz that go along with it. Not too difficult once you get the hang of it. Just focus in class and you will do well. He also never gives 100% on any written work so do not expect it. Nice guy and makes lecture interesting. I scheduled a third class with him because I enjoy them very much.

This class was on the easier side of classes however every week you had 2 quizzes based on the readings for each week. 5 questions worth 1 point, not many points in the class. Two explications about two readings you sign up for and one final paper that's 6 pages. Very clear criteria and lectures are heavy and based on the readings.

Corey honestly slays. At its core, the class is pretty boring but Corey makes it actually so interesting if you really take in what he's saying. He is pretty funny and likes to joke around. He also likes to juggle so if you want extra credit make sure you can juggle. Reading quiz before every class out of 1 point which is pretty odd but so easy.

Prof. Anton will most likely talk the entire class period, which in other classes is annoying or boring but he makes the lecture entertaining and interesting. I would recommend Anton for any COM class, my favorite professor I have had for any level communications class!

Prof Anton is an amazing professor. As a Com major, I thought this class was awesome. Content was interesting and relevant, reading quiz before every class, two tests throughout the semester, as well as a midterm and a final. Anton is passionate and provides examples and explanations upon request and is very open to all question. 100% reccomend!

Genuinely a cool guy as a person and as a professor. Honestly was terrified seeing the course content at first, but he made it digestible and entertaining. Exams were open note + flexible with options for questions. He loves what he teaches and is clearly passionate. He is open to explaining any questions you may have.

The best professor at GVSU. All material is relevant and engaging. Lectures focus on material intently. He is very passionate, encourages and answers all questions, and will do anything for his students. You really have to study to do well on exams. 2 quizzes each week with 5 T/F questions about the reading for each class period.

Professor Anton was a phenomenal lecturer and knows his stuff. He values participation and loves hearing others opinions and viewpoints. He is very easy to reach outside of class and you can tell he really cares about his students.

Caring and hilarious, but I was confused like 80% of the time. It being a philosophy class probably didn't help that. Lots of reading and papers and there's some pop quizzes. Attendance is important so email him any time you can't make it. Overall awesome!!

My advice is to really study the material and understand the general concepts. No homework and only 2 exams. We had 2 weekly quizzes that were worth 1 point each and we had one mini presentation before and after fall break. Not a super hard class, just a lot of reading.
