this is a reading intensive course. get out of it what you put in
Would take again
Corey's lectures were very well done. He was always willing to answer any questions and gave great feedback. It was evident that student success was important to him.
Online classes are helpful and quick and to the point. This professor explains things well and it very helpful and knowledgable.
He was always available and responded to enquiries promptly. He never made you feel bad about asking lots of questions and was clear in explaining the answers. He clearly wanted all to succeed in providing tips where he could ahead of time.
Corey made his class accessible both in-person and over Zoom, which I thought was an excellent way to balance the strict attendance requirement by the Ed. Department while holding classes during a pandemic. The assignments and projects were engaging and relevant to our interning experience. Corey is incredibly kind and a wonderful professor!
One of the better ones in the ed department. I often look for his name when picking courses. He definitely does have favourites though. Lots of class discussions and there is group work. Only thing I found stressful was how late in the semester assignments were due! You get what you put into the course. It was also pass fail!
Very good teacher. Quick to respond to questions.
Corey is by far the best professor in the education department. His class is fun and engaging while giving proper knowledge to becoming a teacher. He is very understanding when it comes to life outside of school and will do his best to help accommodate. The class was a pass/fail class and all assignments had clear expectations.
Cory is always engaging. He hardly ever stands at the front and lectures.
Corey is a great professor and the lectures for this class are fun and engaging. However, this year felt slightly unorganized, as we went into the pre-internship. There were things we hadn't learned that were expected in the classroom once we got there.
Uses discussion-based lecture formats, which make 3-hour lectures go by quickly and relatively painlessly. He cares about your learning and tries to help whenever he can. He also gives breaks in long lectures which is a life-saver.
Excellent prof who really knows his stuff and teaches in an engaging manner.
Corey has great professionalism and uses a good range of teaching strategies. The material was always clear and easy to understand.
Corey is a great teacher. He does expect you to do a lot of readings or additional video viewings which is incredibly hard outside of class time, especially when you have your placements on Wednesday. Lots of turn and discuss then class discussion.
I truly did not learn anything in this class, unfortunately. I felt this class was a mash-up of the intro to Education, Indigenous Studies, Sociology and Women's and Gender Studies. However, this course did emphasize lesson templates which wasn't as much common knowledge. I wish that there was less group work and participation required.
Corey Hadden is the section you should fight to be in. I am thankful to have met him in the first term of my BEAD because the way he gives us knowledge is always in a caring manner that inspires us to incorporate what we learn in class directly in the classroom.
Corey is a calm, collected, professional, and approachable professor. His readings and in class activities are engaging, relevant, and enlightening. There can be a lot of reading in his class. But the readings are very user friendly. Corey takes a multidimensional approach to teaching including lots of music, videos, readings, and tech.
Corey is amazing. I have taken him 5 times in the course of my ed degree. He is super fair, funny and engaging. This class is a pass/fail, the first I've had like that. It worked out really well.
This course uses Proctortrack remote proctoring platform
There are two group projects each worse 25% of the course grade. They are hit and miss depending on other participants. We discussed in class that group projects should not be used as summative assessments, as your grade depends on other participants. I cannot believe such hypocrisy and pretense.
he is really good and his lectures are easy to understand .
He is the best, Cares for his students. Regardless of the class size, he knows everyone by their names. Would take every class with him if I could.
He's supportive and clear and patient. The course is pretty intense for people with zero familiarity to accounting and it's worth planning to spend time working our every stage of the course.
Corey is awesome, the workload in this course is significant but doable. Most of the assignments are group based projects and reflections.
I disliked being forced to sit with the group the prof assigned me, and just focusing on theory rather than real life application of assessment and evidence.
Great Professor. Expects good work, but he is willing to meet outside class to help you reach your goals. His lectures are easy to follow and go by quickly (even in a 3 hour online class). He is really good at welcoming discussion, encourages individual thoughts and accepts feedback gracefully. I will always choose Corey over other professors.
Seem to be very knowledgeable, Would just go over part of the questions and provide the answer, did not explain how to get the answer. No group work set up. Class time was very short some days, which I feel could have been longer and provide more details on class material
Corey Hadden is a great professor, whose lectures are very insightful and engaging. Although attendance is mandatory, he is very flexible and willing to allow you to attend other lectures to stay on top of the course work.
This does a really good job on communicating the material clearly to the class. The material is easily accessable with the powerpoint slide being available on UR Courses. Corey Hadden responds quickly when answering emails when they are sent outside of class hours. I love taking classes from him and find them very enjoyable.
Corey is an amazing professor with lots of knowledge. However, lectures can get boring. Breakout rooms were great as it is a nice break to get to chat with our peers. 2 large assignments in this course are group assignments which can be hard depending on your group. Overall, Corey is great!
He's great with answering questions and helping at any time that he is available,
There are a lot of group projects yes so that would be the only negative because you have to sit with those people in class. Corey gives great feedback when it comes to answering questions in class he always offers insightful comments. I find hime very engaging and hilarious in class and it makes it feel not so lecture heavy.
Great Instructor
Corey is a very nice guy and a good prof, but his ECS401 was painful. We had to sit in his premade groups which made for an uncomfortable learning environment. The assignments did not help prepare me for making good assessments. Expect plenty of dry readings, group work, and to be left unsure of how to use assessment in your future classrooms:/
Would take a class with Corey again. I would tell everyone to take ECS 401 with Corey!
Corey is patient listener and encourages to put forward our views and experiences. I feel very comfortable and welcomed in his class.
So Great! Take his class. You will learn so much.
Corey is an amazing professor. Everything in this class is worthwhile and practical for becoming future teachers. So, so good!
Very lecture-heavy course. Several irrelevant in-class assignments. He is often hypocritical, from what he talks about in lectures to his performance as a teacher. For example, preaching about authentic forms of assessment, but then every assignment we have is a group project which does not represent our individual understanding.
Great prof in the education faculty
Gives good feedback, usually quick in giving back marks despite all of the section he teaches.
One of the best prof in U or R.
Corey was a great professor in this course. I got great assessment information in this class. The only part that was tedious was weekly readings. Some of them were very long.
His course is heavy as it has too many readings, groupworks and class lectures includes a lot of work. Groups are made by proffessor's choice to sit together in class for activities and then you are bound to sit with your group throughout the semester. He is someone with a lot of knowledge but the designing of the course is heavy.
Normally I love Corey's classes, however, this course left something to be desired. No practical application of material, repetitive lectures, and focused heavily on elementary school theory. This course needs to be an appropriate blend of theory and practicality and the faculty needs to offer an alternative specifically for secondary educators.
There were assignments linked to placement which is not a prerequisite for this course.
Correy's Form of teaching is very engaging and interactive in class through variety of class activity which gives a practical understanding of the courses
Knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoyed the course.
Absolutely amazing prof. very helpful and accommodating. Very fair in grading. Will definitely encourage other students to take his classes.
The professor is welcoming and motivating. He engages students in different learning styles. I would definitely take his course again if opportune to do so.
Corey is a great lecturer who gives good explanations to questions.
Professor is fantastic and awesome! He is friendly, open and flexible. I would definitely take his course again. This is a great experience to keep on plate. Thank you, Professor. You are a great human being, a great teacher and a leader!
Dr. Hadden is one of the best, if not the best, professors I have had the opportunity to take a class with at the University of Regina. His mindfulness, care for the students, and constant striving for innovative ways to engage students during the class period are unmatched. I would recommend Cory for any class.
The professor is inspirational and his lectures are amazing.
Enjoyed his classes and friendly nature.
He is one of the coolest professor I had. He is a friendly person and also very intelligent.
This one of the best professors I have ever come across. Very patience and reday to incoporate feedback from students
Corey is an awesome lecturer, grades assignments on time and provides great feedback. I'll definitely take his course again
The professor makes learning very interesting and interactive. He brings lots of motivation to learn more, self -reflect and be a better person.
Very good professor. Clearly cares about his students success in the course, and is very approachable. Grading and feedback is done quickly and thoughtfully. I would definitely take another course with this professor.
Well organized course. Clear grading criteria with rubrics available for assignments. Team Critical Exercises were a good learning opportunity.
Very organized professor.
Corey is really good, I really like his class.
Corey is fair, organized, and returns assignments promptly. His classes are busy and lots of work but he is very kind, considerate and compassionate. I recommend Corey!
Corey is a great professor! This class was very interactive for an online based course, many discussions were had through breakout rooms and even the entire class. Assignments were graded fairly and he gives some class time to complete certain projects. There is however a lot of reading and quizzes/blogs to complete each week.
Corey is extremely accommodating and sets clear expectations for the class. His assignments are meaningful!
Being as this was an online class there was little interaction between the teacher and myself. But that is a good thing because that means the modules and assignments were well worded and explained. Any questions that were asked, were answered in a timley manner!
Very clear instructions on assignments with samples provided which is great. Lectures were engaging and followed a predictable pattern. The course is text heavy with lots of blogs and quizzes so be ready for that but in the end, very informative and worthwhile.
he's a pretty cool guy, you'd be very lucky to take his class. had him 3 times for ecs 101, 401 and epsy 400. he's consistent and organizes the class really well. when doing in class activities he likes to drag it out and do the questions one at a time which can get old real fast. other than that he's cool :)
We studied two books in this course: Seven Fallen Feathers and Your First Year -- both were great. We also completed three film reviews and unit plans. I learned a lot.
Participation matters in this class because you will be invited to reflect and share often in the course.
Course was designed to take you through both an emotional and learning journey. You have to take this class as a first-year teacher. Lots of lessons.
Overall he is helpful, though our class is zoom, he tries to use variety of methods in teaching.
Corey Hadden gave me the run for my money when I first took his ECS 400 class; Assessments. I thought he was a bit too professional for my liking, but slowly I began to really enjoy his content. He is one of the most kind, honest, and caring professors I have ever met. Corey is THE PROF to take if you can. Cannot recommend him enough!
Corey is very helpful and is always willing to answer your questions.
Corey Hadden is a professor who genuinely cares for his students. He is kind, gentle and knowledgeable. He has a good sense of humor. His class was very engaging as he strives to include all students in the class activities. He made us feel appreciated as students. We learned so much in this class and yet we had a lot of fun. A great professor!
Corey was fantastic! He was organized, respected our time, had excellent communication and was extremely quick to give feedback and with grading assignments. We read the textbook cover-to-cover and had chapter quizzes which I appreciated, but just a heads up. I would take another class from him in a heartbeat!
This is my initial experience with Corey Hadden. He is easily accessible, and I received prompt responses. What I appreciate most about him is his openness to receiving feedback from students regarding the course. Regarding the curriculum, I particularly enjoyed the group interactions. Great experience!
Corey was great. Gives great advice when it comes to this course. I will say we had to read lots and lectures were repetitive but informational.
Corey is an awesome professor who gives clear expectations and great feedback. This class involved a lot of small group discussions and could have benefited from more lectures, but overall a good class with an excellent professor.
Corey is a great, easily approachable prof. I admire him and suggest all education students to take at least one course with him.
If i had the choice, I would take every class i could with Corey Hadden. He is an amzing prof and I love how his classes are structured. Each class is something new and interesting and it is always something interesting and worth the every minute of the lecture!
Caring and understanding professor that is always willing to work with you and not against you. This course was condensed, so there was lots of reading and you couldn't risk falling behind. Prof would always use the full class time to discuss things. Class is very repetitive, but also very critical for education. Overall, easy course.
My favourite professor in University so far. He is very easy to talk to and explains assignments well.
Amazing Professor
Very supportive and helpful make my course learning easygoing and worthy to do
- Small group was important to Corey - was awkward at first but was an amazing experience! - Wants videos on - again awkward, but turned out to be not as bad as expected. (It was totally fine in the end) - Super easy to talk to and get feedback from. Will DEFINITELY take another class taught by Corey.
Corey is a fantastic prof ! He is helpful and genuinely wants his students to succeed. This class had ALOT of reading- and many small tasks to go along with the readings. seemed like a heavy workload even for being a condensed class but everything is relevant. Grading criteria for some assignments are a little unclear but he gives great feedback.
Corey is very well-organized, gives and takes feedback, and supports students. The coursework was interesting and useful for anyone considering school-based leadership.
Really caring, adjustable, believes in building relationships, providing descriptive amazing feedback, sets clears instructions for the course in advance.
Mike is one professor I will want to work with again. I will be so proud to recommend this class with Mike to anyone that is on the faculty of Education at the University of Regina. It is a class where your participation in group activities gives you maximum knowledge. I developed racial stamina in his class. I am proud of Professor Mike Cappello.
I took Corey's online EDL 819 course through the summer semester. The course was very condensed, but the workload was manageable. He gives good feedback on written assignments. Lots of reading with (difficult) quizzes to go along with!
Professor Corey is exceptional and a master of his profession. He is timely and detailed in delivering the course content. He delivered the course to the understanding of each student with the use of quiz, group discussions, self assessments and project assignments. A very tasking course but educative and career focused. He was open to communicate.
Online course, helpful and quick to respond in messaging.
Dr. Hadden is understanding and respects the students as humans. We all have unique lives and Corey is willing to work with you to achieve success in your academic journey.
In my opinion, the professor has done a very good job regarding the contents of the class, including quizzes and group work. During the semester, you should proceed in the order of the chapters of the professor's book so that you can fully understand the lesson.
Corey is very caring and takes pride in teaching his classes well. He is always available to give constructive feedback before assignments are due. As well, all of his projects come with student examples and very detailed rubrics. The class was challenging, but the assignments were purposeful!
Dr. Hadden is professional and kind at all times. He is organized and the course was nicely laid out, easy to follow.
He is great!
Corey is student centered and makes himself accessible to all. He cares about his students and though tough to do online - he made a great effort at it.
This was an online course that had modules of content including readings and viewings. For each module, we completed a quiz, a journal activity and a critical incident exercise with a team via a video response, as well as responding to another team. The course was informative, despite not being the most interesting or engaging subject matter.
Corey is an awesome professor, he is very understanding and gives work periods for all major assignments. Attendance is done, but he is a very understanding person if you need to miss or are sick. The grading is done efficiently and he gives very good feedback! Overall, it was a night class but Corey made it great!
He reminds me of my Grade 8 teacher. Chill. However, lectures were dry and the assignment instructions were way too long. Too long that you can miss a part of what is needed in the assignment. The content was unorganized including the syllabus. But, he is a sweet guy and now I feel prepared and more critical for future assessments.
Corey is great. I love his classes 'cause they're always just one big discussion. He knows what he's talking about but is totally open to the perspectives and opinions of those in the class. He takes an optimistic yet realistic approach to assessment that is quite refreshing. There's a lot of reading, but it's all relevant and helpful information.
He is really awesome, cooperative. I really had great experience with him. Feeling highly obliged.
EDL823 is an interesting class, it has helped me to understand the law in education, a better look at policies and procedures, a broader understanding of roles between administration and leadership and how to make improvements in the work environment.
JSGS 838 was a challenging but informative course. I learned a lot in the course readings, lectures, and in-class activities. Dr. Hadden was engaging and interesting. The budget simulation exercise was such a highlight of the course and of the program, in general. Highly recommend.
Corey Hadden was an incredible professor! It was obvious that he really cared about education and the topics that we discussed. There was a lot of group discussion which I found great considering the topics we were discussing. 100% take his courses and seminar section. Overall really great person and professor.
Cory is always an amazing professor. The depth of his knowledge along with patience was amazing!
Corey is an absolutely fantastic person! I would have him as a proffesor in a heartbeat!
Corey was really nice and pretty funny. I took this course as a night class lecture followed by a seminar and found the seminar went by quickly because Corey was engaging and allowed a lot of time for discussion. Really great at answering questions and helping his students succeed.
Prof Corey is a good lecturer; he focuses more on how students can apply the context taught in class, which can benefit real-life and work environments. Prof Corey Outlines his expectations for grading and allocation of marks.
Such an affable and approachable instructor who sets his students up for success.
Corey's course was organized in a relevant manner. He expected his students to read specific materials and provided optional readings. He listened to the feedback of his students and altered some of the course expecatations during the semester.
He is approachable and fair.
Great interpersonal relationship and awesome teaching skills.
The professor shows excellent consideration for student's success. Provides feedback on drafts before submission, and class is interactive.
Excellent professor. Provides good feedback for assignments.
Corey is very professional! He helps his students as much as possible but also a tough grader. Enjoyed his classes alot. If i could i would take his class again.
Corey is a kind professor that's wants his students to succeed. I've taken 2 courses with him and they were both very engaging and interesting.
Corey is so nice and funny. He made the hour long classes go by and shares all of his knowledge.
Professor Corey, employs a blended teaching style, incorporating both lecture and group activities. He is approachable and gives constructive feedback when requested. He explains complex concepts in a mostly understandable way, and incorporated our suggestion to teach in a way that accommodates students without a strong background in accounting.
Corey was one of the best professors I've ever had! If you have the opportunity to take a class with him, DO IT! He is very understanding and goes above and beyond to make sure students have the resources they need to do well. His lectures are engaging and the information is useful and to the point.
Corey is a great professor and I must say one of the best one at University of Regina. He understands if you need an extension or wants to be excused from the class if you have any genuine problem .
He is really good at his work. I learnt a lot from the class. I can take his classes any time any day. I can recommend him to any student. Just be ready to do the work.
Corey was a great professor and I am glad I had the privilege to be in his class. His UR courses was extremely organised and the class overall was structured amazingly. I would recommend anyone taking ECS 101 to do it with Corey. Aside from some repetitive weekly readings and quizzes there is only 3 assignments and a bunch of blog posts!
The professor was helpful in providing feedback and was efficient in presenting the course content making it easy to understand.
Professor Hadden is an amazing professor. He clearly let us know the expectations he had for the class through the assignments we were asked to do. He is caring and respects all of his students as well. I highly recommend taking him if you have the chance!
I really enjoyed having Corey for this course. He is extremely knowledgeable and comes with diverse experience! Attendance and participation matter! Corey is very accommodating and is truly here to support you throughout the course! You can really tell he cares about students!
Corey had everything well laid out. There were two individual assignments and two group assignments. The class had two textbooks, weekly readings, videos, and some PowerPoint. Two optional zoom meetings were recorded for those who were unable to attend.
Excellent professor.
This is my first experience with Dr. Corey Hadden and my overall experience is amazing. The professor is really helpful. No doubt, the course EDL 819 is heavy but I didn't find any difficulty regarding the course. The course outline is well-planned, clear, and easy to understand. Thanks, Corey for everything.
I really liked the professor has made this asynchronous class interactive by making us doing group work. That is how without even meeting each other we were able to connect to each other.
He made complex concepts accessible and relatable to students of all backgrounds and his clarity of explanations was invaluable to my understanding.
Dr Corey is an amazing professor. He is extremely caring and gives excellent feedback to improve on assignments. He displays a lot of respect for everyone in his course. He is very knowledgeable and is always there to guide his students. I will definitely take his course again.
This lecturer is always well prepared and on time for classes. He encourages respectful participation and contributions to both in-person and online discussions. He is very understanding and aims to facilitate student success.
He was a super kind and attentive prof. Was very understanding when something came up and I needed an extension.
Corey was great! His classes are always full of great information and he makes the learning experience worth it. ECS 401 is a heavy course but he made it fun and enjoyable. I learnt a lot about assessment and using it in my field!!! He was super understanding.
Corey was a great professor. With effort, you can achieve high grades in this class. It is very group project and peer assessment heavy. His due dates are bubble dates (you have a week to submit). Overall, if you participate you will obtain knowledge that will help you understand the theory behind assessment.
Corey is an affable lecturer with a smooth mechanism of delivering in class. I will encourage other students to take his course.
Lots of work but it is a graduate level course.
Lots of reading and group work.
He was just overall a good teacher.
High marks are achievable if you put in the work. Lots of reading and assignment heavy but manageable. Corey was a fantastic seminar leader and I would take one of his classes again!
Corey has a background in Education and it really shows in the way he structures the class, grading rubric, feedback provided, and lecture style. Corey gave a lot of homework and often the homework content was information that had not been taught in class so that took hours to complete. Otherwise he is responsive, understanding and a fair grader.
Very good professor, Assignments are informative and interesting to do. Gives precise feedback. I will take another course with him.
I didn't enjoy this class. Lectures were videos of someone else teaching. The content titles in the course didn't materialize in the pedagogy demonstrated in this class. Syllabus was not up to date.
Yes, please.
Corey Hadden taught to all different learning styles and provided great feedback.
His teaching method is excellent, effective, useful and practical.
great person
Corey uses interactive learning approaches in his instructions. He provides clear guidelines on what the expectations are and his grading criteria. Perhaps, sharing the course outline early for before class begins (especially for Spring/Summer semester due to duration) will be most helpful. Overall, he is a good instructor
The Professor makes his class interactive but is a tough grader. Students work so hard but the grades just don't align!
Dr. Hadden structured the course into modules that including readings and viewings, completed prior to class. He used a variety of assignments including a learning journal (completed prior to class) and class presentations -- which had a debate, group discussion, and reflective question (the latter was completed during class, at the end of class).
Dr. Hadden provided helpful feedback and encouraged a climate of respect and collegiality.
Dr. Hadden provided students with a choice for their culminating activity where we could choose from two options -- a response to media related to Politics of Education or a Learning Summary.
Dr Corey Hadden is an excellent professor, and his teaching style is straightforward and consistent, allowing students to easily cope up with the course. If i get the opportunity to take another course with Corey i will definitely do so.
Engaging course. Manageable expectations with interesting assignments and some options to choose from. Fair marking with good feedback for growth. Corey is also willing to take mid term feedback from students and make adjustments. One of the most valuable courses in my masters program.
Corey is great! This was my third class with him. While there is certainly a lot of work to get done, he is flexible and reasonable. He is human and understands that adults with jobs and family run into problems. I would say he is down to earth. I have three classes left in my program. I hope I can take one more with him.
Very particular with grading. Follow the grading outline. There is a lot of opportunity for discussion. Writing is mandatory before and after class which could be time consuming if you're very slow at reading or writing - organizing thoughts. Classes are very informative and thought provoking. He is very good at the work he does.
Corey's class was very engaging and interesting. He was quick to answer e-mails and his feedback was very helpful. Assignments made sense. There is quite a bit of reading, but the majority of the articles were very interesting and easy reads. If you are looking for an elective to take, I 100% recommend this course or any of Corey's courses.
Corey was very organized and supportive.
He mostly used self learning method and do not really explain in-depth of the course. We basically teach ourselves in class using discussion method, which I am not comfortable with.
Dr.Corey is very responsive to students. He organizes the lessons clearly, making them easy for students to follow. He encourages group work and debates to foster deeper understanding.
Dr. Hadden used four assignments in the course: a learning journal (completed before class each day); a group presentation; reflective questions (based on the group presentation); and a curriculum analysis. He let students select their best work for evaluation for the reflective questions. He is caring, funny and provides helpful feedback.
Corey is an exceptional professor! His course structure and instructions are clear and concise. He is very caring and allows the students to put forth their opinions in the classroom. Go for all of his courses.
His introduction and welcome to the course was enlightening and heartfelt. You get the sense that he is passionate about his work and that he is a genuinely kind individual. The workload was heavy but this was a condensed course within a short amount of time. The texts were fantastic and Corey was prompt to reply with any questions or concerns.
I absolutely enjoyed this class with Corey. He was great and structured the course in a way for the students' best interests. Definitely look forward to more classes with him!
it was great experience with Dr Corey. I am grateful to have my courses with Dr Corey .
He is awesome, cooperative and respectful.
Corey is fair and up front about what needs to be completed in the class. He is willing to change how things are structured in the room based on feedback from the class and emerging ideas.
Corey's class is challenging but engaging. Utilize unstuckstudy AI and the free textbook to succeed. Attendance is a must, but it's worth it for the interactive learning.
Course was structured to empower students to become independent in their studies. Ideas were generated by students with the help of the professor.
Our professor is an understanding person. He is flexible. He has in-depth knowledge of the class
Dr. Hadden approached the course with a format the included weekly lectures with activities as well as weekly group presentations which included a debate, discussion and reflective question. The assignments were engaging and interesting.
He is good.
Excellent class and professor. It you want to take a class that is purposeful and not just busywork Corey is the prof to go with!
Corey is very accommodating, supportive and responsive.
He is a good prof!
Corey was a great prof. He was insightful, fair, engaging, and gave students all the resources to succeed. Assignments and work were very manageable and expectations were very clear.
Corey is a great Professor. His assignments for this class is quite overwhelming at first, but when you get used to it, it is a joy to have. Just one thing to note : you should take this class in Fall or Winter to give yourself a lot of time to read; Spring/Summer will be tough.
Professor Corey is a very informative and excellent instructor. He has succeeded in ensuring that we master and understood each topic in this course.
Their teaching style is incredibly engaging and approachable, which makes the subject matter much easier to understand. I am grateful for the positive impact Professor [Corey Hadden] has had on my academic journey.
I usually judge profs off of the contents of their character and Corey seems like a good dude. I liked how he brought in experiences of his own life and teaching career to reinforce what we were talking about in class. Things like that go a long way I think, especially for aspiring teachers.
It was good
Corey is one of the best professors. He is a good soul, very understanding and knowledgeable. Be prepared to work hard for the grades.
Homework is very manageable, and though there are many readings, they are good, and skimming them won't hurt your grade. It's easy to pass, and although the content can be random and you might question what you are learning exactly, this class won't cause stress. Corey seems to be more stressed this year than previously, but he's still a great guy!
Thanks ,Professor Corey.
Professor was quite helping and supportive. He accepted excuses while not able to submit the work on time. He was always respectful towards individuals and their view points. He is knowledgeable and informative.
Corey is a great instructor. Be prepared though to put in the work.
- Extremely well-versed in creating an online course - Expectations and criteria are clear and easy to follow - If anyone had a question, it was responded to promptly - VERY organized - Uses textbooks, however, utilizes the textbook in its entirety, so it is always worth the cost. - I would take this course or any other from Corey!
Corey is wonderful prof. he is my favorite as well. So nice . No words for him .awesome.
Would not recommend.
Corey is a great communicator, allows for tons of group discussions, and is very insightful. Most classes were lecture heavy but there was always time for collaborative discussion.
Corey is a reasonable and practical professor. He responds to inquiries outside of class quickly and gives timely feedback. He is fair in his expectations and encourages individuality. I would take another class with this professor without hesitation.
This course helped me to be outspoken and to learn the way of share my opinion to others.
The teaching aspect was fine, and he's approachable. it's just that there's so much homework/readings for this class. I felt like I was drowning in work. On top of that, I was super under prepared and overwhelmed by the fieldwork part of this course. I think we touched on this in class twice. Very stressful.
It was a very good class. Fundamentally, the group projects brought you back to working with people. Ultimately, I enjoyed the class, and it has set the positive pace I need for the winter semester.
Helpful, responsive and knowledgeable. However, the course delivery could have been more efficient with more focused lectures and exercises.
Good prof, manageable workload.
I really like the layering method of learning....... first learning journals, secondly, class presentations and discussions, followed by reflection. It really helps to get a deep understanding of the topic.
To be honest my experience in this course has been amazing. The professor is very supportive and kind. He give feedbacks on time and his feedbacks were effective and easy to understand for an international student like me as it help me to grow and learn. I recommend all the fellow mates to register for his class.
He is an excellent lecturer who prioritizes students' understanding of topics. His classes are engaging and fun, as he allows students to share their thoughts during discussions and debates. His lessons are clear, and he is always available to assist, providing prompt feedback and constructive criticism. The course is well-designed and delivered.
Disrespectful
Corey is a great professor who is always understanding of the situations his students are in. However, there is a lot of reading for this course and almost all assignments are group assignments, so keep this in mind when deciding whether to choose him as a professor or not. Overall, he is a great professor and I would take his class again.
I have had Corey before, and he is good. Marking can sometimes be inconsistent due to TA marking, but overall, it was a good experience.
Corey was approachable and was always ready to assist us in our needs. He requires a lot of reading and writing, but the assignments were distributed evenly, even allowing us to work in groups or with peers.
Corey's a great dude and is super receptive to feedback about his lectures. I find him to be a very fair professor. He lets you know how class is going to go, and follows through on his promises. He gives very fair due dates and extensions. He does expect you to show up and participate. I found this particular course to be very repetitive.
Dr. Hadden is one of the best education professors at the U of R. If you have not taken a course with Dr. Hadden I would highly recommend. Assignments are clear and straightforward. 10/10 would take this course or any course with Dr. Hadden. Course content is rich with terms and concepts that apply directly to the career of teaching.
Robotic-like Zoom classes dependent on Slideshows. Professor never talked about the 3-week block and what we can expect from the experience.
Professor is very nice and caring.
Everyone should pick classes because professor is very caring and kind
Best Online class I have ever had. There are quizzes and modules that's all you have to do. The final exam is online ( proctortrack ) but once you get the learning it will be super easy for you to crack this course with 90+ grades
I love this subject and the teaching method too.
Very nice professor
Excellent professor
Good professor
Amazing professor provides good feedback.
He is a good prof
Professor is great and he is very helpful and alway reply my mail very fast
Great and helpful respect to there students
Really enjoy this course with the instructor.
Prof. Corey is having a professional attitude with great teaching skills and try to include every student in class discussions.
Corey is amazing and very understanding. He also provides the best feedback I have ever gotten from a professor. Even though there is a lot of reading in his class. The readings really help when entering internship. Would definitely recommend taking a class from Corey.
I would say this proffer is very good.
Great educator
Professor Hadden is great. My 3rd course with him, and I can confidently say I would retake him. While he does require a lot of tedious assignments, he is very understanding, and the assignments are easy if you apply yourself. One complaint I have is that he relies on direct instruction WAY too much for an education prof who advocates against it.
Great prof, have had him in previous classes and that's why I took him again. The course is heavy if mixed in with your three week block as it's condensed to 9 classes but the assignments are spaced enough to be manageable. Corey is personable and very accomodating if life happens. Always a wonderful experience in his class!
This was a very group-work heavy course. However, if you have a challenging situation with your partners, Dr. Hadden is very good at helping you navigate that and coming up with solutions or other options. He is a very nice person, and seems to genuinely care about his students.
Dr. Hadden is a good professor. I am taking an online course with him right now and found his teaching style to be effective. I enjoy that he gives us fill-in sheets to submit based on our takeaways from the in-class viewings; I feel that they keep me engaged and help me to focus. Would recommend.
He is awesome how he has a great approach to learn the concepts in the class.
Its very good professor. I recommend every student to take this course.
Professor [Corey Hadden] is highly knowledgeable nd presents course material clearly. He's teaching style is structured, making complex concepts easier to understand and engage students effectively and encourage to read and understand not just to pass the grade, He's a great professor who genuinely cares about student success.
Offering certification programs in Project Management, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing, and Cybersecurity would greatly benefit students. These programs would equip them with in-demand skills, enhancing their employability and competitiveness in fast-evolving industries.
very knowledgeable about the content very respectful of all students a wonderful professor who recognizes that we are all professionals in our own right and respects that manageable work load always willing to give feedback if you reach out to him in an email
Professor Hadden is one of the toughest yet kindest professors I've had the privilege of learning from in two different classes. His courses involve heavy reading and assignments, but the knowledge gained is invaluable and easily applied to everyday teaching. Additionally, he is polite and his years of teaching experiences makes studying enjoyable.

By blending well-structured videos, interactive discussions, they effectively keep students engaged. They respond promptly to questions, enhancing a supportive online learning environment that promotes active participation and comprehension.

Gives clear instructions and shows flexibility and is a very reasonable Professor.
The course is thoughtfully designed to support different learning styles. Alongside lecture videos, the professor includes discussion forums, quizzes, and interactive assignments that encourage participation and reinforce key concepts.Their teaching style is well-adapted to accessibility to create a highly effective online course experience
Corey is a real person, and his classes are very open. He asks for student discussion and input (whole class and small group) more than he spends time lecturing. The class had a lot of work, but it did not feel like busy work. The readings and assignments were meaningful, which helped ensure I was fully engaged.
Teaching style is organized and methodical, which makes it easier for students to follow along and absorb complex material. They present the content clearly, often breaking down difficult concepts into manageable parts and providing relevant examples to reinforce learning.

Correy is a great professor. He is very clear in what he expects from you and respects every student equally. He is understands complicated situations and handles them professionally. This is my third course with him, my third semester. It was a fantastic experience.
Take Corey Hadden, he is an amazing professor.
Great Professor and great course. I would love to take another class with professor Hadden.
One of the best professors in UofR. Would love to take his class again.
Professor Corey adopted varied teaching and assessment techniques that catered for individual differences. He conveyed all messages in a simple manner. He respected all of us irrespective of our socio-cultural backgrounds. He is indeed a professional lecturer; no wonder he teaches educational courses. I would love to take his courses in the future.
It is very easy to follow as course outline explains everything so well. His work is demanding however not stressful or overloaded. He is a good professor.
took it as gpa booster, looks good till now
Corey is a level headed and knowledgeable professor. He has very clear expectations and he is respectful and grounded. It has been a pleasure to take his class. He does a thorough job of explaining where to find information for this course and shows students in a step by step manner.
The textbook is free and online, through the sask open education resources. Course is designed to encourage student understanding of the material and probably makes more sense if you actually do the practice assignments before attempting the quizzes/assignments.
Students need to work very hard to get an average mark. After following all the guide to success, I still got an average score
Corey is an amazing Professor. If I get a chance, I would like to take another course with him.
I will recommend this professor to any student who wants to take his course. He provides an online textbook for reading which corresponds with the topic for discussion. He is very respectful and ready to answer students' questions. His rubric for assessment is fair.
I liked the approach that Dr. Hadden used in this course. We worked through eight modules, with two chapters in each and each module had some pre-work done before class and then we came to class for a presentation: summary, an interactive activity, and discussion, followed by a reflective question. Dr. Hadden structured the class to be engaging.
Though the course was asynchronous yet Professor was always accessible. He provided study material. He is true motivator.
Great course structure
I'm gaining a lot of knowledge from this professor
This course was structured really well. It was lots of work compressed into the summer term. I found the quizzes the most difficult. Some were very easy, but some I had to guess the professors intentions. I did well in the class as a whole, but poorly on a few quizzes despite completing the reading and knowing the material well.
I took a 3-week intensive course, and it was, as the name suggests, intensive. There were multiple ways to demonstrate learning, and although the workload was heavy, it promoted growth. He was quick to respond to questions and provided feedback in a timely manner. He is also open to listening to student feedback throughout the course.
Dr. Hadden is a great instructor overall. ED800 (spring/summer) is incredibly content-heavy, so be ready to read and do a lot of work, but it is manageable and you will find a routine. Corey's feedback is extremely timely and constructive. He himself is also very receptive to feedback on the course and is flexible with reasonable requests.
This course has been my favorite online course ever throughout my master's journey. This is because the lecturer gave us detailed orientation guidelines even before the start of class to understand clearly his expectations. He was readily available to answer all questions on the learning platforms. Well done, Dr Corey.
Corey is a very good professor, but lots of reading and many assignments. However, he provides very clear criteria for marking, so you know exactly what you need to do to be successful. He asked for feedback half way through the course, and was very receptive to our input, and made modifications where he could for the second half of the course.
Dr. Corey is a great professor! He gives lots of readings, but you will surely learn from his course!
best professor of u of r
Corey was fair and readily available to answer any questions.
Great for extra credits.
clarify everything, course material is easy to study and simple to understand
If you are wiling to boost your GPA and looking for an elective, this is the best professor. Make sure that the course is online, if it is, just enroll in it and you will ace.
Professor gives quick mail reply, his notes are good with details, videos are also helpful.
the subject is very interesting, and very use full for life.
Corey was awesome to have as a prof. 10/10 would take another class with him. There are ALOT of readings, but they are all relevant and informative.
Corey was a great professor; I would take his class again for sure. Not a hard marker and got marks back within a week, tops.
he is so good, i will take this class again
Corey is a great prof when I had him for 203. He values participation in class and contributing to class discussion. He gives great feedback and is open to having students share their thoughts and questions without judgment. I would take an ed class with him again.
nice proff , easy class.
I would take a class with him again
Very organized and detailed. Clear instructions and very understanding. I enjoyed your class. Thank you Corey
I am delighted with the level of learning I experienced in this course. It was intense, but I feel like I actually got something out of this experience and saw it applicable in my everyday life. It was challenging having an ongoing process of deadlines, but I am learned more from this than I have compared to other models.
Allows us to work at own pace within deadlines. Responds quickly to any emails and issues.
Loved the course
The organization of the course, expectations, and feedback provided are excellent. This was a very work-heavy course but the design of the course led me to be prepared for the final assignment.
Very supportive and helps you whenever you get stuck in something and course is very well structured.
If you are considering taking this course online and with professor Hadden, I definitely recommend doing so. The lectures are pretty straight forward if you keep up with readings (good amount each modules) and practice worksheets you should be able to do great in this class. I like learning in this class as it is very helpful.
nice prof!!!
Professor Corey Hadden is an excellent instructor. I highly recommend taking his class. The reading materials are well-organized, and his lectures are clear and easy to follow. Thank you, Professor Hadden!
Great Proff
Lectures were good, information was always relevant and never a waste of your time, however quite monotoned. Strict deadlines, and attendance/camera policy. Very nice man.
I thought Corey was great. I have had him for other classes in the past. Assignments typically feel like they are somewhat on the easy side and he allows for plenty of time to get them done. There are a lot of group projects for assignments and groups discussion during class which isn't always a fan favourite, but he makes it easy.
As I generally don't write reviews, I attended your course online as it felt I had learned so much for my future data science role and achieved some inspects on handling the sheets. I would say please take this professor cause he is like a Magician of converting the boredom into Amazement. Thank you Professor once again !!!
Corey is a very good professor, you can tell he likes what he does. I took his class online, and you had to have your camera on, but that wasn't a big deal for me. While the class I took with him included a lot of writing, it was fairly easy. He gives you a whole hand in week instead of just one day, which I liked.
This online class was broken into 6 modules (each chapter of the text), where students presented their learning from each chapter in groups. While I really enjoyed the presentations and this format, I found myself wanting a bit more instruction from the instructor about the content of each chapter. Corey is positive and accommodating.
Fast-paced, intense, and thorough. The coursework is constant but enjoyable and thought-provoking. Corey gives excellent feedback, is always accessible, values student opinions, and makes sure assignment and grading criteria are crystal clear. This was one of the best classes I've ever taken. Highly recommend.
He was very responsive to emails. His evaluations were very thorough with great suggestions on how to improve. However, the second set of assessments it seems we lost marks because we didn't write about our teaching. This was never once asked of us, furthermore, it is really hard to condense the topic and the course content in 350-500 words.
As long as your doing the required assignments and quizzes on time, you'll be fine. Expect quizzes and assignments for each chapter of the book!
Overall great professor, he give clear feedback and assignment were easy to do. All the reading is very useful and interesting.
Professor is great and reply's quickly
