Corey is a great teacher! He tells you like it is and then goes over lots of example problems. If you do the work and study a little bit, it's not hard to get an A. And oh, yeah, he's hot! ;)

Corey is not an easy teacher. If you are not a math major, then don't take him. I studied VERY hard and still was not happy with my grade. He does put much effort into explaining things, but for an intro class, he expects ALOT!!!

He explain everything so you can understand it and doesnt move on until everyone has got it. Homework is not graded but still study cause exam can be a bit tricky!

Corey is hot!! Is is also a really good teacher..the content of the class was difficult becuase it was stats! but he was willing to help whenever you nedded help. I dropped him becuase stats was hard not becuase he was a bad teacher

Corey is Sooooo Hot! Oh wait, he teaches Math??? Good math teacher, was worried about taking math but he is a great teacher. Will help you to understand problems, and do them time and again if you don't. Great math educator.

How fun can you make math? Well Corey tries and he's funny. Plus...you've heard it, the man's HOT. Plus he's everybody's buddy. If you need to take this class, take his. The lectures are easy, the exams are too, he basically tells you what to expect.YOU just NEED to KNOW your math, and TRY...it helps! Do the HOMEWORK...it helps.

Very good professor, he is always willing to go out of his way to help, can't find that too often. If you do have to take this class try to take him, well worth it. And him being way hott is a plus, eays on the eyes, I dure dont mind looking at him for 2 hours 2 times a week...=)

Not only is he HOT, but very smart. Don't bother buying the book, no hw, everything you will need to get A's on the tests he will write on the board. The material is hard but he teaches it well. Don't buy the book, just go to every class, take good notes...and STUDY hard! He provides every tool needed for succcess in this class.

The girls loved this guy.. but unlike other non-ugly professors.. this guy was pretty cool to us fellas as well. He is an awesome teacher who really cares about how well his students do. He does a lot of things to help students boast their grades and other ways of motivating them. Will take him again, highly recommended.

I totally recommend this professor for statistics. He knows his stuff and knows how to teach it. The homework is reasonable. He is always available for questions and help. His tests are from his lectures. He goes over enough material with you. And you will learn something! TOTALLY RECOMMEND!!!

You'll learn very much from Corey. The subject is difficult at times but Corey is always there to help you understand and get it and makes it an enjoyable experience. He also has the best anecdotes out of any professor or teacher I've ever had.

Awesome teacher! So willing to help on anything. I started the semester with a different teacher then he took over and it made all the difference. Its a fairly involved class but if you do the hw and ask when you need help, he'll get you thru the class with an A. No textbook, just an online text/hw deal. Overall, just plain awesome!

Hands down the best math teacher at grossmont. He is funny, keeps class very interesting with stories and with the actual subject itself. Very energetic and will go out of his way to insure you understand the subject. Its a shame I can not take him for every math class that I must complete.

Manchester was a great teacher. He is a stats major, but tought Calculus at an understanding level. I liked the fact that he gave homework, but didn't collect it. Doing the work was a must though, cause you need the practice. 5 of 7 quizzes were take home.

Had him for stats didn't use the book at all he tells you not to get it. all hw is on line.you use your calculator the entire time instead of nasty long equations.Very smart teacher so sometimes he gets fustrated with repeted stupid questions.. id definity take him again.. only like 6 hw sections and 4 exams final comprehensive and dificult

WOW! This dude is the best teacher I have ever had. He makes sure everyone understands before moving on, he can even read the faces of students who don't want to ask questions and helps them. He remembered everyones name by the second day of class! He is young, and can easily relate to everyone and like to laugh and have a good time. Must take him!

I had to drop his class, but have absolutely no negative feelings for Corey. He's an extremely smart man, and his lectures are interesting and entertaining for Stats. Unfortunately, I had bombed half the class (not his fault, Stats is just THAT hard), so I had to drop, so I'll miss hearing his informative and entertaining lectures.

First off let me just say this professor is hot. Ok now that's done, he is a good teacher as well. He really explains the subject and LOVES statistics. He gets excited over teaching it. If I had to take it again I would take it with him. He won't move on until the class understands and his tests are fair.

What an awesome teacher! My low grade is not reflective of the knowledge gained, as you HAVE TO DO YOU HOMEWORK! Test examples are sometimes pulled directly from the homework and lectures, albeit slightly modified. He really knows how to keep your attention, though that's not his job. I've always hated math, but I really enjoyed this class. Corey is so enthusiastic about his subject and class was always interesting. Made the concepts easy to understand. You always know where you stand with your grades. You must do the work and attend class, but if you do you'll pass for sure.

Nice person, availible to help out. Homework is all online and I think makes it a little harder if you need to do problem after problem to practice. He talks very fast and skips little steps so somtimes it may be confusing to some if your not a math person. Not sure if I would take his class again.

Corey is AMAZING. He's overenthusiastic about math and when he gets like that, you should really pick on him. But he is really passionate about math, which is good. For a subject I hate, I'm really glad I got to take it with him. Attendance isn't mandatory but if you miss class, you miss a lot so it's not really worth it to miss.

He's a great teacher who is willing to help you with any mathmatical problems. Math 110 is a hard class but he makes it very fun.

So we just got done taking our final. SUPER easy. This guy is great. Although I was failing the WHOLE semester, below a C, I was able to pull out of CALC 2 with a B. THANK LORD. GREAT TEACHER, hard class. He doesn't mention this but he actually replaces your lowest exam score with your final score (it it's any better). THANKS COREY ;)

I took Corey for MATH180 & MATH280. 180 was always difficult for me to grasp & I finally understood it when I had Corey. I was excited to have him for MATH280 also! I got a B in the class the first time around which is AMAZING for me, someone who will never understand calculus to save my life. I hope I can take him for CALC 3!

Corey is AMAZING! Anybody fortunate enough to get this class is in for a great math semester. I hated math, but he just loves math and makes it so easy! And it only helps that he is geeky hilarious.

He is extremely helpful since he gives you his email and you can email him any time with questions. I have done so in the middle of the night and usually get a respond with in hours. Really fun class. He prepares you for all of the assignments. The test content is the same as what we studied, so there weren't any surprises. He gives a great lecture and his notes are very clear. He is always open for questions, and since he is a real math nerd, it passes on through his teaching and makes it enjoyable. My favorite math class yet.

This man knows how to teach! I understand everything he's saying, and the concepts of all things taught. The only problem I have is I don't do all the homework because it's not required. I regret it, but due to his awesome teaching I still understood,although I sometimes struggled during exams. DO THE HOMEWORK, IT WILL BENEFIT YOU GREATLY!

I could barely pay attention because I was just mesmerized by how extremely sexy he is. But, poor guy, he really is a good teacher! I think I only got an A because I paid attention to every single word he said.

Tests from lecture and study guides. Final will be very similar to study guide. Do hw as he spends a lot of time going over it. Laid back, funny, cares about his students. Cheat sheets allowed. Best math prof at Grossmont. I was lazy, never went to class, rushed through hw but reviewed study guides and passed but you have to lectures to get an A!

Taking Calculus II at SDSU was pretty tough trying to juggle all my classes, the grade breakdown was homework- 20%, exam 1- 25%, exam 2- 25%, and final- 30%. I wish the material was broken up more but other than that Manchester is a great professor. The tests weren't too bad just have to know what he is asking and be prepared!

Manchester is truly the best! He really takes the time to explain everything you need to know, and he is really quick to respond to emails and such. He cracks me up in class and says things like, "You all look really sad," and it just sort of makes my day. He's just an overall great teacher, and if you do the hw, you will pass the class.

Manchester is a phenomenal lecturer, but a terrible grader. Exams consist of 8 FRQs and partial credit is given at a bare minimum with no curve. If you're looking to pass calc II take another professor. A strong trig background is also an absolute must.

goes fast but i think thats just him, his brain moves fast, hes a fast thinker. i failed this course :( hes tideous, u have to simplify everything to the dot. hard grader but does give partial credit. hes funny and entertaining. take dan curtis at cuyamaca for slower pace and explanation for everything. manchester may not explain why things are.

Corey is a really cool guy. In class i understood everything he was saying perfectly, however at home it was a whole nother story. His study guides are also not similar to his tests at times. He is a committed teacher and you can tell he cares about the students in his class. He makes you put your fair share in. Great guy. Good teacher. Recommend.

Freakin' awesome professor! I called him a math nerd, and asked him to give real life examples of how to use stats functions, and he took it all in stride and acquiesced. The man is brilliant and some students (especially those just wanting to get a grade and not learn) might find him a bit hard to understand, but he takes more than ample time.

Corey, is great professor, he is very funny and will make this class interesting. Now the negatives, some of the material is difficult and needs quite a bit of attention on your own. the test can be difficult at times, the problems that he uses to teach us can be rather difficult. But overall if your a quick learner take him, you'll love the class

Corey's a great teacher however he doesn't really help out the slower students. He doesn't finish problems because he expects you to be right there with him. Tests were *not* similar to homework or in class material and he expects you to read his mind and already know what's going on. I did all the homework and worked in the math lab everyday for hours and barely passed with a C. I'm gonna try Curtis out for Calc 2 at cuyamaca and see how that goes. Good luck

Corey (goes by his first name) is an amazing math teacher. I struggled in Pre-Cal and aced both his Calc I and Calc II class because of how well he taught it. He used to allow notes on tests but I'm not sure if he is allowed to anymore. He keeps you interested in the subject and if you just listen and do the homework you will do really well!

I had him for Calc knowing it was going to be a hard class and it was. But he made it so much better. You can tell that he LOVES math, and he is so excited to teach it to students everyday. I don't like math, but it was my favorite class because he was so passionate about it and made it fun! Use study groups, they help a lot. Definitely Fav teacher

Corey is probably one of the best math professors on campus. He's passionate about math and always willing to stay behind so you understand the material. He will give out exam reviews before each exam. His exams are tough but fair. Make sure to attend class because you don't want to miss anything. If you have the chance take one of his classes.

He's a great prof and really passionate about what he teaches. He believes that you'll use math in everything in your life, which is hilarious as an English major, but it's amazing that he really loves to teach, unlike a lot of the professors at Grossmont.

This class is challenging, you must put effort into understanding the material and passing the tests. Corey is very easy going, easy to understand and a complete nerd. This is not an easy class but completely manageable if you complete all homework.

He breaks it down to its core elements and gives you the most basic and thorough understanding of these concepts. He's a complete geek for math and you will be too after taking one of his classes. Corey Manchester is one of the BEST math professors anyone can take hands down. He keeps math interesting and he actually knows what he is talking about. Great professor very helpful one slight issue with this course is the homework is online without textbook but the way Corey teaches, the homework isn't that bad. Highly recommend taking his course

Best math teacher I've ever had. I've never been confident with it until I met Corey. He expects you to know your algebraic rules and "tricks" and to apply your knowledge so don't expect him to feed you like a baby bird. If you're going to major in a science, he is a generous grader/tester and is super helpful and clear. Take his class.

Fantastic teacher. Show up to class and pay attention. You will get out what you put in. If you don't know the things from pre cal that you should know, you will struggle. Most people who struggled in my class were asking questions that weren't related to Calc 1. Math builds on itself so know what you should before you come into this class.

He is the best teacher possible for calc and pre-calc in my opinion in grossmont. He is very willing to help whenever you need it and not very hard on test. All information is from lecture so pay attention. He usually opens up the homework at the end of the year so kids can study and finish up missed questions.

His tests are tough. if you ended up with let's say " B+" at the end of the semester and have never been absent or late, he will change it to A-, so make sure to attend.

Corey is a math genius,very organized,helpful, I took 176 "preCalc" with him and that was my first math class after the assessment test, and he gave us 5 tests + the final, he replaced the lower score of the five tests with the final score so make sure to do well on final. Corey helps you build a strong base for Calc. Would take his class again.

He is the best in math, never uses notes. answers your question no matte how silly it is. Always give practice test before each test, except for the final, and all his questions are too close to the practice, also he never tries to trick the students with the questions and gives partial points for everything.

Manchester is really passionate about math and I feel like that's the issue sometimes. He gets super excited about the material and uses challenging examples that can get confusing. This class isn't an easy A, well at least not for me. Get ready to work and put time into this course, If you're into math you'll do great in this class.

I'm not so good at math and I didn't have the drive at all, so I ended up with a less than satisfactory grade, but his teaching style is clear, and he is there for you. Professor Manchester is a smart guy! He really knows how to teach. The only thing that I didn't really like about his class was the websit he uses for homeworks (ALEKS) and he never posted the grades for homeworks. He sometimes makes stuff more complicated! I took Corey for Math 176 and Math 180 roughly a year back. He's not the easiest grader, and his tests can be difficult at times, but he gave me a good foundation for my future math classes. Corey is always willing to stop the class if you have a question, so don't feel embarrassed to ask. One of the best math professors I've had to date.

I honestly cannot say enough good things about Corey. He is truly an exceptional and inspirational professor. He is highly passionate about math, and it shows! Math 176 is a tough one: be prepared for a lot of work! Homework was online and was lengthy but not highly difficult. *Tests are hard* but it's clear what's expected - no surprises.

This class takes some effort as he wants you to really understand the subject, not merely memorize information. He is always willing to help and is overall a great professor.

Corey is such a passionate professor and he really cares about the students. He always makes sure everyone understands things before moving on. There were 4 tests, a final, and homework was worth as much as 1 test. The lowest test could be dropped and replaced with the final grade. Take this class, he's an amazing teacher!

Professor Manchester is a really nice person and a wonderful professor. He cares about you learning the material and he always asks if there is any question. There was no quizzes in class, only HW, 4 tests and final. Thats it. He gives study guides and the tests are really straight forward. Take him! you wont regret it!

Best professor I have ever taken. Cares so much about the students. I've taken him three times so far. It wasn't easy, but it doesn't have to be hard. Put in the effort. I respect Corey immensely for the time he gives his students and for the passion he puts into his job. I came into his math classes feeling uneasy. I left inspired and motivated!!!

I've taken him three semesters in a row now - I build my entire schedule exclusively around his lecture time - and I've never been disappointed. Highly recommended. Attendance necessary; doesn't use book.

Professor Manchester is amazing! I loved his lectures and he is a wonderful and straight forward professor. I would love if he teaches 281 also, we need some good professors like him for higher math levels. He is the best, and remember his students even if we do not have class with him any longer.

His lectures are all you need for the tests, pay close attention, not too tough of a grader, there are a couple of pop quizzes, but not too bad. Do the HW for extra review, honestly, the notes felt like they were harder than the HW nd test q's, so if you can understand those you are fine. Also, he is caring so just ask for help if you need it.

Best professor I've ever had, hands down. He really cares and is extremely intelligent. His class is not easy and the grades heavily relied on the tests, which can be difficult, but his lectures give you everything you need if you are a diligent note taker. Couldn't recommend him enough!

Manchester is the professor you take to actually learn the subject. He will teach you true math. He is tough though. Rarely curves test, but if you try hard enough, you can end up with an A or B. He respects his students as long as you respect his class. Very smart and knows how to explain his subject Not an easy A or even a B. Gotta work for it.

One of the best math professors in Grossmont. His lectures are very informative and useful. The notes you will take in class will be extremely helpful. He is really dedicated to making sure his students understand the concepts and procedures. Tests are challenging but nothing surprising. He is always willing to answer your questions.

AMAZING professor, I'm so thankful to take his classes. I took him precalc, calc1&2. He explain the materials in a simple and clear way. I'm so sad that he doesn't teach all the math classes because I would've take him again and again. If i'm good in math because of him! He always take care of his student and answer their questions. Manchester has the amazing ability to make math somewhat enjoyable and fun. He create a class environment where all questions are welcome and every student feels confident and safe enough to ask questions even if they are fundamentally simple. He also gave us multiple opportunities to improve our grade.

Just remember that calc is hard. We started with 50 people in the class, 20 dropped and out of those 30 only half passed. Don't blame it on a professor, he explains it very well and he has the passion for teaching.

Hw is online. Each hw module has 10-20 questions. The more you get wrong, the more questions the online hw gives you. The only downside to the class. His lectures are great. Hes awesome about answering questions & helping you understand the work. The class is tough. Lots of memorization & understanding w problems & formulas. Quizzes are easy pts

Even though I had to bust my ass to get through this class, I wouldn't want another teacher. He even was going to go above and beyond to work around my schedule for a test makeup. Great teacher really cares if his students do well. Best math teacher i have ever had. Just take good simple notes and memorize as you go learn the stuff, try to practice what you have in your notes.

Manchester is a GOOD professor. I was scared to take calculus because Ive always been terrible at math but he breaks everything down for you and makes sure you understands. He answers your homework problems and theres no surprises on his tests. He doesnt allow calculators but makes the problems simple enough that you wont even need one.

I'm not good at math and I was afraid to take Calc. However, Manchester was thorough and very good at teaching complicated things. The exams have problems from the notes, so finish the homework and then practice(memorize) the notes and worksheets. He also rounds your grade up at the end of the semester. B+ to an A-, for example.

He makes your calc experience easy. He does not allow ANY calculators, but you won't need them. Make sure to review your notes BEFORE and AFTER classes and do all of the homework. Homework is online, and, also, you only have a limited amount of times per problem. Make sure to take good notes, do the homework, and keep up with the pace of the class.

Honestly I earned a C, but this was probably the funnest math class I've ever taken. Manchester comes prepared to teach, so you should come prepared to learn. He makes you work for your grade, but is fair. He starts off with a proof, then you do examples. Study the notes and do the HW and you'll pass for sure.

This class was brutal for me - no textbook - only online HW that lets you practice examples. You really need to be there for his lectures to learn the material. Tests were tough - no notes or calculators (Dept. wide policy). BUT he was nice, extremely supportive, & helpful as long as you asked for help! Take MATH078 also if you are shaky w/ Calc.

Corey was by far my favorite professor! i took calc1 last semester and struggled so hard i had to drop. I took Corey this semester and passed with an A+! he is so generous with tests and his lectures are so engaging. he connects with his students and is always accessible for help. cannot say enough good things about him COREY I LOVE YOU <3

If you are as scared as I was about taking calc and need things dumbed down for you to understand Corey is 150% your man. Really cares about his students understanding whats going on & quick to respond to whatever questions you might gave outside of class. Easily the best teacher there is. Will give you as much help as possible if he sees you trying hard. The guy is one of the greatest guys I know. Once you leave him, you wish every teacher was like him. Take him and you will be really happy.

The best math professor out there. If you are looking to learn math and are ready to put in the work to get a good grade, Prof Corey is the right choice for you. No textbook was required. We used knewton for hw and exams.

Professor Manchester was great. Very laid back and easy going. Didnt feel stressed throughout the class but it did get a little difficult. But after everything he does help you out a lot and wants everyone to pass. I was recommended to take his class and Im so glad I took his class. You have to do weekly HW labs, and sometimes quiz. Awesome class

Without a doubt, Corey is one of my favorite teachers. I was in his Calc 1 class in Fall 2021, and his lectures were always organized and straightforward. Of course, some of the concepts in calculus can be difficult to grasp, but he was always open to any kind of questions. I would 100% recommend him to any student who wants to take calculus.

Corey is by far one of the best math teachers I have ever had. Usually, if your algebra base is shaky, you'll end up having a hard time with calculus. However, he will review ANYTHING as long as you ask. Not judgemental at all either. Don't miss class, and study the examples he gives during lecture. Also no calculators but you won't need them.

I highly recommend him, he really cares about you as a student, and really enjoys math. He will never think youre asking a dumb question and will always try to make sure you understand the topic before moving on. Take his class if you can, I had a hard time because its calc, but I never hated the class because he really wants you to learn

Definitely the best Math professor I've ever had. He's absolutely incredible at explaining any concept, and will stay on a subject until everyone gets it. He's also the first professor I know of who incorporates "Organic Chemistry Tutor" videos as supplementary curriculum, which is very cool and unique. Awesome guy to talk to as well.

Overall he is a great teacher, his lectures are easy to understand and will explain anything you're confused about; including HW. HW is due before each exam you have 5 tests (55% of your grade) Its a decent class but do not fall behind. He loves using Trig on exams but rarely does them in class, but ask him to do some example problems it'll help

He's an amazing person & cares about students as people. He's pretty tough with grading. Exams (5 in the semester) make up 55% of your grade. No calculator or cheatsheets. Exams were difficult for me but the questions were taken from our homework/in-class examples. You get points for not leaving exam questions blank.

Corey was the best math teacher I've ever had by far. He made the class interesting and had a great rapport with the students. There was clear communication and he always graded fairly. 100% recommend taking his classes!! I would have taken him for my next class but unfortunately he wasn't offering my next class. Bummer.

He is definitely the best professor I have ever had. So understanding and nice. He doesn't waste time, he lectures and as soon as his lesson is done you leave. Homework load was so manageable, and class was enjoyable!! Love Manchester.

Professor Corey is great - he really cares about students and is always happy to explain concepts in more detail. The exams are challenging but fair, and using Unstuck AI for practice problems helped me prepare. Overall, this class is tough but doable with dedication.

Professor Manchester is truly amazing. The reviews do not lie, he genuinely cares to help you understand the material and explains stats in a way that makes it much easier to grasp. Tests will be most of your grade and there will not be extra credit opportunities so make sure to be well prepared for exams and take advantage of his office hours.

Thank god for Manchester. I took Cary Lee in Spring '24 and it was too overwhelming and complicated of lecture and heavy tests that we weren't prepared for. Manchester makes stats SO understandable, has great study guides, and well-designed test. I was able to ask many questions and did well.

I absolutely loved this class. The professor made statistics super understandable, was incredibly helpful and open to any questions. He provides good study guides and outlines for the exams. The online homework was a little confusing at first but he was always prepared to let us know what steps to take, definitely pay attention.
