Exams are hard af. But manchester is the way to go. He does his best to prepare you for the midterm that the other prof creates for the whole math 150 students. You should do ALL the hw, try to do eh on quizes, and obviously study for the exams. But dont worry if u got a D or C or even F on some.. the math gods will do there part and create a curve

Manchester is the best! I took him for precalc and am currently waitlisted for calc since everyone wants him. He teaches step by step and makes it easy for ppl to understand. He speaks clearly and loudly. We used webassign for homework (weekly). Exams are difficult! He opens assignments at end of semester so you have a 2nd chance to submit later.

Corey is the best Prof ive had so far. Class was smooth because he walks you through everything and hes passionate. HW was on Webassign (online) and he re-opens it at the end of the term. If you do what youre asked to do and follow up you should be fine. Awesome Prof overall and the final curve was quite generous.

honestly just go to class because he does such a good job at explaining everything. the whole class you take notes and do examples. he really wants you to understand. hw is all online and not due until the exam -so easy. exams are really straight forward if you know your stuff

No need to read a lot of the book if you go to class. He explains everything so clearly you have to get it. He wants you to succeed & is available outside class for questions. Start hw early to understand concepts & learn formulas and should be prepared for exams

LOVE HIM even though this is a tough class. Corey is always enthusiastic about class and math, and teaches very well. The class is super hard unless you're naturally good at math. If you're willing to work at it and go into his office hours, it's manageable.

Manchester was probably one of the best profs I've had at state so far. His tests are really hard though, so make sure you go to class and go to his office hours or the math learning center if you don't understand concepts. Unfortunately though, I still ended up failing his class with a C-, which is considered failing for a major pre-req.

Manchester is great and really passionate about math. He's always willing to answer questions and help students out if they reach out to him! Tests are pretty difficult. I would recommend finishing the homework days before the exam and working on the practice sheets before exams. No curve, but he doesn't give minuses so an 81% is a B.

Manchester is a great professor. He gives so many examples and always wants to make sure that the class understands the material. His tests are a little tough, especially because every question is worth a lot. I would recommend him, but you have to be willing to practice and dedicate time to this class or you won't do well. Get help early!

A good chunk of people fail the class, but that's because they sit in the back and don't take it as seriously. If you put in the effort, and just pay attention to him, you'll be completely fine. He somehow makes calculus very simple!

Manchester is alright. The first half of the semester he was absolutely fantastic, one of the best I've ever had. The second half went downhill, he started going really fast and was kind of like he lost focus a bit. Still a good guy though. Exams are scantron, homework is with MathXL. Graded by 20% weekly homework, 25% exam 1 + 2, 30% for final.

I took him for Math 150 and 151. Spring 2016, and Fall 2016 respectively. He was great for both classes. His lectures were clear and he welcomed any questions. For anyone who down-votes him; maybe if you don't ask him questions about what you don't understand--- that's why YOU fall behind! Keep up the pace, and go to his office hours for extra help

Manchester really cares about his students but if you are not paying attention in class, he will call you out. He is hilarious and will do any examples that you ask of him. For the tests, it is crucial if you go over every example that was done in class. There was a curve at the end of the class during my semester but do not rely on it.

Great Guy. The best Math professor at SDSU, he cares a lot about his students and gives an amazing lectures. Calc2 was a hard subject but he made it easier.

Most definitely one of the more difficult classes that I've taken here at SDSU. I am usually a math nerd, but this class slapped me in the face. He is very passionate about what he teaches and will have no problem with questions. THE TESTS ARE DIFFICULT WHETHER OR NOT YOU STUDY, I CAN GUARANTEE YOU. TIP: Study homework, lab, and lecture notes!

Manchester is the BEST math prof out there. He's young and funny, but knows what he's doing. I love how he goes through each step to ensure that his students understood. Retook precalculus because I took both precalculus and AP calc in high school, but never really understood it. Manchester helps build a strong foundation for future math classes.

Corey is a phenomenal teacher. Tests are extremely fair- just study the practice exams and you'll do great. Homework is due every week. It isn't particularly difficult, but is helpful to prepare for exams.

Manchester is an awesome instructor but calc2 is a tough course, so make sure you go to every lecture. The homework (webassign) is good practice but doing the practice tests before midterms is crucial. Go to office hours and spend time in the MLC! There's a ton of help if you choose to seek it. So far he's been my favorite math instructor, 10/10!

Manchester is by far one of the best professors at SDSU. He's caring in that he really tries to prepare you for exams but most importantly he wants to make sure you learn. Midterms are 10% a piece, so if you do poorly on one, just try to improve the next exam and its not the end of the world. Fantastic overall.

A hard class, but Manchester teaches it well. You definitely have to put in the effort for this class. I went over the problems over & over again before the test which helped. Also, going to his office hours help bc you get 1 on 1 help. He can sometimes teach pretty fast. I think A+ offers this class so I would definitely recommend going once

By far the best professor at SDSU. Funny at times, but has a no-nonsense approach to math that really helps you learn. Gives extra credit and a nice curve, but the amount of homework can get pretty ridiculous. Lectures are strong and straightforward, so if you go to class and pay attention your work outside of class will be minimal. Easy, easy A.

Man,this dude is amazing! I think Prof Manchester is a solid choice for people who have never taken calc before. The tests are extremely tough , I didn't think they were fair at all. I earned 9s and 10s on the quizzes but on the tests ... I don't wanna talk about it. Manchester turned math interesting , I wish all math professors were like him.

Machester is the #1 choice for any math classes at SDSU. He explains the material well for those who are learning it for the first time. Wish he was the one who made the tests instead of Kirshvink so they would actually be fair. Calc is hard enough as it is, but if you have Manchester you can actually learn the concepts.

The best professor at SDSU, if you don't put in the work you won't pass. His lectures are fast pace but that CAL for you.

Very nice and super willing to help with any questions or issues. You do need to show up since the formulas and topics he uses/focuses on are different than the homework (and its his formulas that he puts on the tests). Unlimited tries and reopened the HW before every test (2 midterms and a final). Super easy course, great if you just need math GE

While I do believe Manchester is an extremely good teacher, patient with the class and explains the concepts thoroughly enough for the whole class to understand. He even allows us to work together for quizzes. The exams are on a whole other level because they are written by another teacher and you basically have to learn the tricks from the TA.

Manchester is excellent at explaining what he teaches. But the problem is, he doesn't teach us what's on exams. What he teaches makes sense... the exams? So, so hard. Stupid hard. There needs to be more correlation between what he teaches, what TA's teach, and exams. TA's do more exam stuff, but aren't good at teaching it. Exams are graded harshly.

Math 120 is hard regardless. However, Manchester is really clear on what needs to be done to succeed. He is clear with how to solve problems. Go to A+ if you need to, but honestly, just pay attention and take good notes and you'll pass.

Best instructor I had for math. Emphasized the fundamentals for Calculus/Trig that I would go on to use later on in mathematics. The content is hard, and I failed calc2 the first time. However, the responsibility to understand the material and properly study falls on the student. Manchester delivers well, and I respect him as a professor.

Great class and I'd recommend him for Calculus. His most recent reviews have been negative because he caught many people cheating this semester and gave them all 0%. Tests are multiple choice and questions are very similar to the homework questions. If you plan to study, his class is great. If you plan to cheat, just don't do it.

There's definitely a disconnect between prior classes and whatever is happening in his math120 class right now. I had Manchester last semester, and went out of my way to get his class bc he had such great reviews, and loved it. Math110 was an easy ge, he was a great teacher and made us love him, and always answered any questions we might have had.

Proffesor manchester teaches really hard subjects and so you should not be so suprised if you do not get an easy A. Manchester is a nice guy and he posts his lectures online which is helpful. His tests are similar to the examples in class.

Manchester was a great teacher. He explains really in depth. His tests line up almost exactly to the notes in class. However, only like 30% of the class shows up because his lectures are recorded so I'm guessing those are the people who are complaining. So if you attend class and pay attention you will easily pass. So just show up to class.

Corey Manchester is the best calculus professor at this school, no matter the class. His lectures and notes are amazing. Given that, This is the hardest class I have ever taken in my life and Manchester doesn't write the test. If you have the option to take Calc II at a community college, I would recommend doing that.

I took Manchester's class 4 years ago and I thought he was fantastic! He was on who wants to be a millionaire so that's a big plus. To be honest his tests are very fair and straightforward, although the questions don't make sense sometimes, but if you put in the time, this class is an easy A. I mean he even has a hall on campus named after him!

Machester is hands down one of the best professors I have ever taken in college! Very clear instructor who does a lot of in class examples. He is very approachable and cares about his students. His exams can be a little challenging but are very doable. Just make sure to put some time and effort into studying for his class. Recommend taking him!

This professor transcends Isaac Newton and all his contributions to mathematics. He is brilliant in every conceivable way. You should go to class if you want to pass, also I think it would be a great idea to study every now and then. I did not attend any of his classes but from what I hear, he is the greatest professor to ever walk the earth.

Manchester is honestly a good professor. He is very intelligent which can be intimidating to some, but he is also very patient and will answer your questions (even when people ask the same question 5 times). A lot of people are hating on him but they fail to realize calculus is a tough subject and he actually teaches it very well. Study to pass!

Manchester literally made almost a whole GMCS-333 class show up to every single lecture without a need for any form of technology. He is literally the best math professor ever. Even some of Carretero's students wish they had Manchester instead. He even knows the many possible ideas that a student would have in solving a single problem.

I am a math brain and I can say confidently that Manchester is a God send to this school. His teaching is so well organized and he is so open to insightful questions. He always respects questions and concerns, and doesn't deserve the hate he received in my class. Go to class and do the minimal homework and you should have a good time with him!

I'm not going to lie. Taking his class is tough. I went to every lecture, did all the homework, and did the most studying I've ever done for a math class. I know there was a conflict with his grading system but after the criticism, he dropped his insane midterm. I honestly think he's patient and understanding while being very knowledgeable.

Fun guy! In my experience, he was very kind and his lectures were full of life. Took him for the lowest available math at my school (I'm an art major!) and got what I deserved. Was able to pass, but I recommend going to his lectures as often as possible.

He is a really good teacher and explains the material well. I think that the second midterm was a lot harder than the notes, which is the reason why his ratings dropped so much, but he was really fair and offered the opportunity for our lowest midterm grade to be dropped and replaced by our final grade if we did better.

Professor Manchester does EVERYTHING he can to help you succeed, and he is a great lecturer. The online HW isn't much help but provides a bump in your grade. You need to look over the practice exams ALOT. Our final was the same as the practice one. Missing even 1 lecture will screw you. Examples from class are used number for number on tests also.

Manchester really gives the students who hate math or think they aren't good at it (like myself) a chance to really see how enjoyable calculus is. His lectures are long, but if you pay attention the whole time you will see how simple he makes hard concepts seem. Studying for his class is easy, just go over your notes. He's also a super cool guy.

Manchester is an excellent professor! I took his calculus class during the summer. He explains the work thoroughly and answers all questions. It's true, there is a lot of homework but this is college! The homework is relevant and continues to work your brain until it becomes second nature. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this professor!

Manchester teaches a hard subject and as a result gets alot of hate when kids fail his class. I took ap calc AB in highschool and I still struggled a bit in his class, he seems like he's "all business" but he's a genuinely good guy and if you show up to class, do the homework until you get 100%, and study for the tests you'll do fine.

A lot of people go in very anxious and fearful of math. I took this class with a different professor and got a D. As long as you attend class and take notes, and study your notes you will pass. Every single test question is a question you have solved in class in your notes. Manchester makes the class as easy as you want it to be.

For starters, Professor Manchester changed the way I used to think about math. He stimulated my interest in the subject by keeping the class engaged with the material. He made us do the problems and gave us multiple examples to work with, while still using each class time efficiently. You can see in his eyes how passionate he is about the subject.

I'm not an amazing math student, so please do not take my grade received as the quality of the professor. Prof Manchester is an amazing professor, he makes lectures entertaining and informative and hes always going the extra mile to make sure everyone understands the subjects. He is a great math teacher.. Very thorough with his explanations of how all of this math relates to life. I would say to take this in the summer as it is easier to get questions that you have explained in full detail rather than the fall with hundreds of students. He also replaces your lowest score with the final if it is higher.. Reccommend.

Honestly, he's the best math professor out there. Passing calc 2 is really tough obviously but if you have a lecturer like Manchester, then you have a chance as long as you go to all the lectures and you truly understand the material

Figuring out which professor you want for this class is like choosing how you want to die. It doesn't matter which option you choose, you're still going to die. Manchester is a fantastic teacher and he wants to make sure you succeed in his class, but you have to meet him halfway. You NEED to consistently practice what you learn outside of lecture.

Manchester really cares about his students and designs his course in a way that most students can pass. Your final will replace your lowest test score and there are only two midterms. YOU MUST GO TO CLASS AND TAKE NOTES. You will not pass if you skip class.

During this coronavirus situation, Professor Manchester has been amazing. He has given his students enough time to relocate back home and get settled before making things due. He has changed test dates to make sure everyone can be successful and understand all of the information during this weird time. Definitely the best professors at SDSU.

I got a C or lower on every test but this man curved my grade harder than girls I try to hit on. I got a D on the final and my final grade should have been under a 67 which he considers a C- but he literally bumped my grade and gave me a passing grade. This guy knows this class is a major requirement and he's a beast for passing me

Professor Manchester is the best out there. I took him for Calc 1 (MATH 150) fall 2019 and the way he presented the material was the best I'd seen. I took calc B/C is high school and taking this class made me understand the material even better. The tests can be challenging (especially the true or false), but go to the MLC and it will help a lot.

I am an A student and this was the hardest math class I have ever taken. That being said, Manchester is a great lecturer and really cares about his students. He takes time to go over any questions people have and explains things well. If you need to take MATH 120, take it with him.

The best calc prof you can take. Attendance isn't mandatory, but lectures are key to passing. Goes into depth explaining the material. Willing to help outside of class with anything. 3 exams and one final which is cumulative. Before transitioning online, all hw was due on the day of the test but after everything was due on the last day of finals.

For a person who struggles with math and doesn't enjoy it, Manchester was a great professor. His lectures are easy to follow and he does a great job relating this class to math you will actually use. Go to class every time and take detailed notes in order to do well. He really cares about his students and is very organized. Great class!

For someone who has struggled with math and was required to take a GE math, this was a perfect class. Manchester carefully and slowly explains every concept in lots of details. Attendance is not taken, but you should go if you want to do well. Given unlimited chances on HW and his practice tests are very similar to the real ones. Highly recommend.

Manchester is my 2nd favorite professor I've ever had (behind Leduc). He was a fantastic lecturer and I never had any difficulties understanding the material. He did tons of example problems in class and didn't spend too much time talking about useless stuff. His tests were very similar to the example problems he did in class. Also, do your HW!

Honestly was intimidated to take this class completely online, however if you just watch the few videos posted weekly and complete the homework you should be fine. Homework problems are very similar to test problems.

The way he teaches and walks you through problems is very helpful, but make sure to go to the lectures and ask questions if you dont understand. Its tough material, but he wants you to succeed and is happy to help.

Although he is great, if Carretero is the class coordinator, this won't matter because your grades will be based mostly on tests that Carretero writes. This class would be ten times better if Manchester wrote the exams.

Calculus is an insane subject to be taught online. Manchester did an awesome job, he was approachable and broke the content down well through his lectures and notes. He responds super quick and wants you to succeed. If you aren't a math person by default he is a great choice.

Manchester was a great teacher & held office hours twice a week to ensure we could ask questions. He did however give A LOT of homework, one chapter we did had 2 HW assignments, each around 70 questions. Be prepared to take the practice exams multiple times to prep for the real one. The HWs are worth a lot so make sure to get as many points on them

Had him for 3 different calc classes. Absolutely amazing. Smart professor that is great at teaching. His notes are so organized and thorough. Skip your class to go to his. He's the best math teacher you'll find. Tests are hard and you won't pass if you skip or don't study. Very passionate and enjoys his job.

If you like to do your work on your own time this class is for you. Attendance is not mandatory and he posts the lectures to watch later if you cant make it. If you dont like his teaching style he also posts helpful youtube videos going over the concepts. Very nice and is an easy class if you pay attention.

Homework is 20%, the rest of the exams/final are 80% of your grade. Attendance is not required but strongly recommended. You definitely need to stay on top of your work to get a good grade in this class.

Lectures are very thorough and the homework reflects exactly what was taught. It is very easy to get a good grade in this class because the hw can be done repeatedly until you get 100%. There are also practice exams that you need to get a 70% on in order to take the real exam. All assignments are weighed the same.

Although Calculus is hard, Corey made it bearable. He is very good at explaining complicated problems, takes you step by step, will answer all your questions even though he has classes of 200 people. Great professor, hard class.

Terrible at math? Take this class. Professor Manchester is the best. Homework was not difficult and the exams are based from the homework questions. If you need extra help, take advantage of office hours. Don't be afraid to ask questions, he's always happy to help. 3 exams and then homework assignments, don't get behind.

Teaches content in class and like 8 homework total with between 16 and 70 questions on MYMATHLAB. Always can go over homework in class. Do not see your real grades really until end. Practice quizzes must be passed to take real exam but are dropped

Professor Manchester is a laid-back professor, he really wants the best for his students. His lectures were a bit wonky for me personally as I felt like I understand the content of the class better by actually doing the homework on MyMathLab. Also, please don't feel like you can't ask a question-he will answer anything and help you all the way.

A lot of the class builds up on itself, so pay attention to every lesson. The professor puts things as concise as possible. For the summer session that I attended, we use Alta Knewton so practice the homework assignments and practice exams since the exam is based off of them. Final exam replaced the lowest exam score out of 3 exams. 100% Recommend!

This class isn't easy, but he makes it easier. Very chill and doesn't want you to fail. 3 tests and final that replaces the lowest test score, all homework adds up to equal one test, but homework isn't bad cause you can get 100% no problem. Just pay attention and study the practice exams he gives they are identical to tests and sometimes the same.

My best teacher so far at this school. He reminded me of some of the best teachers I had in high school, and was extremely caring for his students. You can tell he is truly interested in teaching and always prepares the class for tests.

Manchester is GREAT! He is so nice, helpful, & makes you feel like your questions matter & are reasonable. Yes the class is hard, its calculus, but he does a great job at building a base for the upcoming material. Responds to emails super fast and always willing help with homework. Good amount of homework, but online calculators can help. 4 exams

Cool guy. Really understanding when people ask for explanations. He makes it easy to understand by doing a bunch of examples and goes through the homework in class. Has 2 tests (50%), 1 final (25%), and homework (25%). Would take again.

I gave him a good rating because he is an extremely solid professor and I think he does his job right. I have had more amazing teachers in high school, but maybe because I didn't personally interact with him, I felt nothing to him honestly. Take him over the other professors though, he gives you examples in class.

He's a great professor and very passionate ab teaching! He makes sure to answer every question asked in class and provides tons of videos, handouts, etc. to make sure you understand the info. He encourages people to email him w questions. You're graded on three tests, a final, and HW, but you'll be prepared if you go to class/watch the recordings.

by far the best professor I've had. really treats us like humans, never condescending. he loves math/teaching. very easy to follow along with lectures, he does a brief intro of topics, then most of the class time is spent doing examples. Always willing to answer questions and offer any extra help he can. Take him!!

Literally the best option for calc II. Could literally break down any topic so a preschooler could understand. The exams are incredibly hard and have oddly specific questions cause Manchester doesn't write them.

super chill and nice guy! notes and lectures are pretty clear and its clear that he knows what hes talking about. he always lists the formulas on his exams which is SO GOOD and hes super helpful with reviewing and helping with any questions. there's a hw assignment after most classes but not all. overall a stress-free class and i would recommend!

Had him first semester of freshman year and honesty he was my best professor. He knows what he is teaching and explains everything so well. Final, Exams and HW are all worth 20%. Complete all the HW, easy 20%.

This guy knows how to teach math. He is a great professor, he's nice, and understands that Calc is not an easy subject. He really takes the time to make sure all of his students are understanding the material by leaving time for questions and always inviting questions. Take advantage of this. Tests aren't impossible but STUDY hard for this class!

A great guy who cares a lot about teaching math. His lectures are detailed and excellent to learn the material. The weekly homework's are not too hard. If you show up to class and listen you will receive a good grade.

I loved Prof Manchester. It's so obvious that he wants his students to succeed and pass his class. Three exams and homework are graded. You have unlimited attempts to do the homework assignments, so it's easy to get 100%. Last exam replaces lowest exam score as well!

Very helpful and nice. Class itself was helpful and I will probably use some of the lessons in my future, like how to calculate savings or mortgages.

Professor Manchester is very helpful! He's willing to come early before class starts and stay after class to answer questions.

Great Professor. Amazing lectures, keeps things light with his sense of humor. Always has time for questions and makes understanding Calculus easier. Calc 2 is a hard class, but with Manchester it is bearable.

Corey is very nice and a overall chill professor. I've never been a math person so its always hard for me however if you are a math person take him. He is great and all his notes are clean and organized. He wants everyone to do well. Lots of homework but so much time to do it. He gives practice exams etc. If you need extra help go to Aplus review!

Very good teacher overall, really cares about his students and his lectures are very helpful. Much better to attend class in person as annoying as it is, but he also posts lectures online after. Take him if you can

What I liked about this class was how straight forward he was. He basically gave you the test questions in the lectures, so if you study and do the homework then you will do well. Definitely can't just fly under the radar though. All abt practice for his exams.

homework is 20% (worth one exam) and exams including final are 80%. small amount of questions on the exam which may seem nicer but if you mess up a few your grade tanks. do the hw questions as they are easy points and literally helped me pass the class. pretty easy if you have some knowledge in calc but other than that good luck.

The bad reviews are from people who are bitter about their grades, but Calculus is difficult no matter how amazing the professor is. Put in the effort to study and do the practice exams on Canvas because they're the same on the actual exam. Corey literally makes his exams as easy as possible, so if you need to take math120 he's your best option!

This class was definitely very hard coming from someone who isn't good at math/test taking, but if I had to take this math class with anyone it would definitely be Prof. Corey. He's caring and really wants you to do well. Grade is based on four exams and homework, homework is unlimited tries, so do it until you get 100% to help your overall grade.

Manchester is straight to the point and encourages his students to ask questions during lecture. He is not boring like many of my past math teachers. 3 tests and a final that are very similar to lecture problems. The key to math is to do practice problems and what I did was go to class and rewatch the recorded lecture at home.

Really good professor, his lectures are clear and always encourages his students to ask questions. Doesn't hesitate to clearly explain a problem if someone is confused on a certain part. Hes a nice professor, but you will have to learn a lot of the material outside of class. Test heavy, if you fail one test youre doomed.

Great lecturer, answered questions in a helpful way and explained things so they really made sense. Watch all his lectures if you want to pass - he records them. The one negative about this class is the tests. They are all around 12 questions so if you miss a few you are already screwed. Do practice tests. He doesn't curve or give extra credit.

I love Manchester with my whole heart. The tests are tough because they have such few questions. TIP I WISH I KNEW: do the extra practice for the exams in the canvas modules. the ones on Knewton aren't really similar to the actual exam. If you do that you'll probably pass.

3 tests total, first two are chapter tests, cumulative final exam all taken in person on scantrons. Attendance not necessary because he recorded each lecture but coming in person means you can ask questions. He would lecture then help us with the homework. Offered resources and worksheets to do well and pass his class. Unlimited attempts on HW.

Math120 will be hard so take Manchester, he has your best interests and wants everyone to pass. 3 chapter tests, final, and homework are all worth 20% of the grade. I was originally failing with just under a 72 and after the final ended with a B. Replaces lowest test score with final score and homeworks easy.

He was honestly a great lecturer if you like to review lots of examples of concepts. He was always kind about taking questions and not making you feel dumb for asking and took time to make sure we were getting it. Sometimes the lecture would drag on, but overall it was for good practice.

Math is by far my worst subject but professor Manchester manages to make it clear and understandable and actually works with students to help them overcome their issues with the subject. Lectures can be attended live but they are all recorded, grade is based off HW, 3 exams, and a final, your final will replace your lowest exam score if applicable.

Make sure to really pay attention in lectures, take good notes, and go to office hours or tutoring sessions if you need help! If you stay on top of making sure to really understand concepts you will be ok, but is is extremely important. Homework is based on if you get it, so if you have a concept down it'll be quick but if not it could take hours.

Amazing professor very understanding and helpful!

I struggled with calculus. His ability to build intuition and make it seem easy for the first time in my life was groundbreaking for me. Great online platform use of Knewton math and an even better lecturer. One of the best teachers I've had at San Diego State.

By far the best calc teacher I've ever had, and likely the best at SDSU. Attendance isn't mandatory since he records his lectures but you def need to watch or attend class to pass. The course itself is difficult but he's a great teacher, funny and helpful and answers every question.

Make sure you watch the lectures. If you take notes and do the homework fully you will do fine on the tests. He clearly cares about students and is one of the best math teachers I have had - he explains things really well. One qualm with the class is the limited number of questions on the test. If you miss two questions you're already at a B.

Mr. Manchester is super nice and always willing to help/answer any questions you have. While attendance isn't usually mandatory, I would definitely recommend attending as much as you can because he explains lessons well and completes the homework with you after each class. Only 2 around 15-25 questions, so it sucks when you get only a couple wrong.

This professor is great. This is the hardest class I've taken, but he makes it a lot more bearable. Even if you ask a stupid question, he'll make it important and answer you. He has lots of examples in class and goes over homework frequently. He leaves 15mins at the end of every class for questions. It's important to note he doesn't make the tests.

So sweet and caring. Lowest midterm dropped. HEAVY partial credit on exams, (you could get 9/10 on a question with the wrong answer). Lots of HW points. Curved too. Put in minimal effort and you will pass. Try a little bit and you'll get a B+. Put in college level effort and you'll get an A.

very nice guy and genuinely cares and very helpful. he leaves the last 30 min of class to do the homework with the class and theres lots of review and help. he answers any questions and no question is a bad question. take him!

Easley, my favorite professor

Took this class last semester, and he was probably one of my favorite professors at SDSU so far. Very helpful and easy if you keep up with the homework. You should take this class if you can!

Phenomenal professor. His lectures followed an efficient and clear structure that went at an easy to follow pace. He prepares you well for the test as you will hardly ever see something on a test that you haven't practiced. He's easy to understand and keeps the lectures engaging. I switched into a math major after taking his class. Take his class.

Calculus is tough, but the school is lucky to have a man like him in charge of teaching it. Went into the class thinking I would fail, but now I'm sitting with a grade I could have only dreamed of 6 months ago. He has a special talent for explaining math in a way that makes sense to non-math people. If you are in his sections, you are in good hands

You should not be failing this class. Corey Manchester is an underappreciated professor and should be the standard for collegiate math classes. He teaches the material well, and blocks out 15 minutes at the end of every class for questions. The tests are often very similar to the homework. He was also on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" in 2017

this course was very challenging but he does a good job of explaining each concept and there are practice tests provided that are very helpful for each exam

A very good teacher, you have to attend the lessons to learn. He drops your lowest test grade and if you do the homework and actaully try its not that bad.

Finished his class spring 2024. He is someone who wants his students to succeed. Math 151 is the hardest calculus course, so don't be surprised even though he is a good teacher, you still are going to have to put in work for a good grade. Overall, he made the class understandable, and is probably one of the best math teachers SDSU has to offer.

Amazing professor can't recommend him enough. He takes the time to walk students through each step of his example problems. When a test is coming up he also takes the time to review.

Amazing professor who cared for his students throughout the semester. Graded by a few homework assignments (all online, although he does answer questions in class), 3 tests (all in person plus final). He was a wonderful human being who has experience and even rounded my final C+ to a B. Definitely recommend as he makes Calc much easier than others.

Professor Manchester is an excellent instructor who genuinely cares about his students' success. He's consistently available to help and provides a supportive learning environment. His exams are also more straightforward than the homework, which helps students focus on understanding the material.

One of the best professors at SDSU. Goatchester is good at explaining things in a way that someone who has never taken Calc 2 before could understand. It makes me sad he doesn't teach 252. Also, very nice and is willing to answer any questions you have. Best math teacher ever.

Professor Manchester is one of the best professors I have had so far at SDSU. He cares about his students success and is very good about answering all student questions. His lectures are very important to understanding concepts that you learn throughout the semester.

i hate math but he made it a lot easier to understand compared to my highschool teachers. i barely passed because calculus is my worst enemy, but i would take this guy again if i was good at math. homework is worth 10%, tests are 80%, the other 10% are from miscellaneous factors.

He was the best math teacher I've ever had, and I'd highly recommend this class if you need a GE. He only had a max of 20 minutes of material and did the homework with us in class. He is so patient and kind, and the tests are multiple choice with calculators and given equations. So many resources to study or review. I had a great experience.

Very very nice dude, his lectures were understandable, although he moved fast at times. The only reason I got a bad grade in this class was because I'm not the best at math. It didn't help that all the tests were extra credit, some people love it some people hate it. Light workload and class is cut 15 minutes short for questions at the end.

Prof Manchester is a very nice person and understands that none of us are math majors and teaches as such.HW/Canvas 20%, 3 tests 20% and the final being 20% but it replaces your lowest test grade. There is no extra credit or curve. Homework is not that hard as long as you stay up to date. Go to SI and MSLC and you will pass.

Manchester is the best math teacher I've had- ever. He makes hard concepts so easy to understand and truly cares about his students. He encourages people to ask questions even in a big lecture and is so organized in class and on canvas.

GO TO THE LECTURES! He records the lecture, but you're not going to want to watch it on your own time. The material is hard, but I think that if you use his practice tests from the past to study for the exams, you will do well. The homework is all busy work and is time-consuming, so try to get that out of the way ASAP so you have review examples.

Manchester is a great professor and has very clear lectures, assignments, and exams. He replaces your lowest test with your final if its higher and curves it so that a 90 is an A not A-. I can understand why people struggle but since I do have prior calc knowledge from high school I felt like his class was great.

Corey is the GOAT, study the practice exams he puts in the canvas modules, they're very similar to the tests and he lets you keep the test papers to study for the final, which is very helpful.

Prof Manchester was my favorite professor this semester! He has a great understanding of calculus and it shows in his lectures. He took everything really slow and made sure people understood before moving on. He is the nicest guy and has lots of test prep and other helpful resources to prepare you for tests! Would definitely take him again!

he dad-explains how to do calc and makes concepts sound very simple and calls variables "dudes" when he does problems. his lectures are him going over a concept then doing a bunch of examples for that concept (which i like). the midterms are exactly like the study guides. he made calc 2 not as hard as i thought.

Very good at teaching math and explaining any questions that are asked during lecture. He often goes over homework answers and takes his time explaining any confusion. You can tell he really does want you to do well in the class.

Corey was the best teacher I've ever had. I am not a math or science brain and I have dyslexia and ADHD. Somehow he was able to teach me Trig at Grossmont AND Calc 120 here. He graded fairly, even if I messed up on a "stupid" mistake within my first few steps he'd always stay with it and grade my work thereon as if I had done it correctly. 10/10

This class can be difficult but if you pay attention to lectures and do the homework you should be fine. If you really want to boost your grade A+ review really helped me and showed exactly what was on the exams. He's very accessible for questions as well.

He explained concepts clearly and was open to answering questions from the students. The lectures were as entertaining as math lectures could be, and the notes & recordings were posted online if you had to miss them. Your experience with the course will depend on the coordinator though, who creates exams, determines study guides, and trains TAs.

Corey is a very good guy and a likable professor, but I struggled with this class. He lets us go after about 20 minutes and stays to do the homework. STAY AND DO THE HOMEWORK, otherwise you will not really learn. Homeworks are pretty easy. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you want to do well, go... even if it is tempting not to.

I withdrew from this course as a result of poor sleep and no medication the night before a test. However, this professor is practically engineered to be a calculus professor. He is very articulate and describes everything very clearly. I believe he is the most friendly professor to those with disabilities, which has garnered my utmost respect.
