Very easy going professor. He has a sense of humor but is serious when it comes down to getting the course work done.

I thought this class was very helpful and informative when it comes to improving your communication methods. He is very respectful and is open to discussion in class. The PowerPoints are clear and very helpful when studying for tests. I disagree with the monotone, he does have a low voice but the lessons are well thought out. Do your work, get an A

BEST TEACHER! If you need to take SPC take it with Prof. Brownlee. He cares about his students and loves teaching! He is very simple, not too much work and doesn't stress you out. There is nothing bad to say about him. Grades were delivered fast, tests were easy, just 2 speeches and one mock interview. Great teacher! NOT monotone at all!!!!

You have 2 written exams (multiple choice - online), one group project, and 2 individual speeches, one in front of the entire class, and one private. Honestly, by the end of class you are on first name basis with the entire class since every lecture is class oriented. Probably one of the most fun classes I have ever taken, and EASY.

he's really funny but yes, can get very serious if he feels we're not doing what we're supposed to do. take his class seriously! we have one group project, one individual speech, & one mock interview where it's just you & him. very easy class & awesome professor.

I took this class over the summer and it was such a pleasure taking it with this professor. He is very laid back and really loves what he does. He gives amazing feedback and will help you with anything you need. Assignments were easy and the two speeches you have to do were also a breeze. Would definitely reccomend taking him.

Straight forward teacher, goes by the syllabus. Participation in blackboard is a must. And there will be a paper and exam. He's very relatable and makes the class enjoyable. Would take him again anytime!

He is a slow grader. gives you the impression that you will have an A but you end up with a D. He's a great person. There was one hard confusing test. He doesn't teach by the book. However, the test was completely from the book, nothing from lecture. Over all he's a so-so teacher because I didn't learn anything new and disappointed at my grade.

Professor Brownlee helped me to overcome one of my biggest fears: public speaking. This is an easy A if you follow the syllabus and participate in class.

First of all, this professor is just hilarious I enjoyed the class everytime I went. He has only one test that is the midterm and it's open book AND you do it in a group AND he gives the review that is EXACTLY like the rest. Final is a group presentation about anything and there's your A. I love him he's just amazing!

Funny guy. He Missed a lot of his classes. Goes by syllabus. One test, you have a study guide /paper/ individual presentation/group presentation (I had to do my whole groups presentation if not we would have got a bad grade & I couldn't afford not to get an A in this class) He asks the class if they wanted to do the mock interview. Test are easy, if you do the reviews you will get a 100. Be prepared to do speeches, even surprise speeches that are not planned for, but it is a public speaking class so its good practice. he works with anyone who needs help

Took him for SPC1024 @ Broward College, he was very easy and you had a little bit of assignments to do. Trust me the study guide he gives is exactly like the test! I'm not one for talking in front of the class, but he honestly makes it so easy that you the speech goes by a breeze. I RECOMMEND HIM 1000% :)

Professor Brownlee is an exellent teacher, he cares for his students, he's flexible but he expects for you to do your work as well, if you do your work you'll be just fine. Attendance is mandatory, he replies to all emails promptly, his study guides are very similar to his tests, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This professor is very fair and will work with you as long as you do all of the assignments. It is really important to stay on top of your weekly chapter assignments as well as the weekly writing assignments and you will do well in the class. There are deadlines that you must met, but as far as the grading policy, he is pretty straight forward.

With each assignment you have to follow the instructions to a "t," if not he will be deducting points. If you miss class you are responsible for getting the information you missed from another classmate. Network early in the semester, try not to miss class & follow all instructions. very fair when it comes to grading. 2 exams, 1 group project, weekly assignments that u can do whenever u can but before the deadline. take notes. the class sessions are recorded so if u miss one you can still watch it but he prefers students to attend. can be unclear about what he says sometimes. does not like to repeat himself. 1 extra credit.

I'm not one to speak on video, but the professor made it easy and was great to learn from. Although class seemed a bit rushed, we did had we an easy amount of online work, a couple of speeches made with a few minutes of thinking and one group speech. Would suggest taking him though!

Professor Brownlee is one of the best professors around. I took him in Summer 2020. He teaches blended courses and it's explained in class and is clearly outlined in the syllabus. If you have to take Speech, do yourself a favor and take Professor B, you will not be disappointed! His lectures are amazing.

Pay attention during class and ask questions when he gives direction on assignments because due to him teaching different classes at multiple schools/campuses he don't respond to emails "as fast" as you want him to. It's an "easy A" if YOU let it be, its an "easy F" too because he doesn't accept late work. The ball is in your court!!!

Very good at explaining concepts and answering questions. Great at making the class interesting. As far as the tests; they were pretty tricky even if you read the book and paid attention. They are not a breeze to pass and you got to work hard. but he is not unfair and his level of clearness made it easy to understand the topic.

He will like you to participate in class, is mandatory. If you pay attention during class, they will be giving the instructions about the assignments, exams and due dates. Dont be late with the assignments, be aware of the calendar. The classes are great! Of course, I recommend him.

If you're considering the 8-week intensive class, DO IT. He gives VERY clear directions & examples. He will help you if you ask. 2 speeches per week, record & upload them. Critique 2 of your own speeches. Take weekly quizzes. You'll also make outlines for each speech. Yes, it's fast-paced. Buckle down, get it done. You'll be glad you did.

Professor Brownlee can seem intimidating at first but he's amazing. He expects a lot from his students but only because he wants you to become a great speaker. He gives constructive criticism but is not harsh. He is extremely caring and will definitely make you a better speaker. He is patient and allows you to grow at your own pace. I recommend!

He was a great professor. He is very funny and interactive with the class, and he is very good at using current events or topics we can relate to. He is a bit of a busy professor but he does get to cover what he needs to in the time allotted. He does require your camera to be on if since it is an MDC Live course.

I took his session 4 course. So far he is my favorite professor. He is aware that speaking in front of an audience is tough for most so he doesn't grade strictly. He gives clear guidelines for every speech. If you follow them you will get a passing grade on every presentation. He cuts to the chase so class always ended early. He's hilarious too.

It gave me a little bit of anxiety because our grades were not updated but it was an easy class. He was hilarious and gave us time to work on our assignments.
