Nice lady, but I didn't feel she was a very good teacher. I had trouble understanding her, and when you ask for clarification you end up even more confused half the time. She is reasonable with grading, so if you are in search of a grade go for it, but if you want to learn a lot, take a dif. prof.
Confusing, unclear and boring. She's a very nice lady, but does not present material very well. She let us decide if we wanted to use papers or tests to determine our grade, but the tests were basically impossible. Spends time going over feminist philosophers, which I found very interesting.
Class was very unclear. Too much reading and not meanigful discussion
i thought that she was the best professor that i ever had!! she rocked
I really liked this teacher. I went to her office many times because Philosiphy was very confusing to me and she always took time out to talk to me and make sure I understand. She is really smart and brings up interesting points in lecture. Lecture was how I passed the course.
I thought her class discussion were well directed and informational. I've taken two courses with her. The first course was great because the class was very talkitive, and interested in Phil. The second class was only so-so, because the students weren't interested, she had to work alot harder.
The best prof I've had here! Excellent communication & teaching style. Class requires participation! Tests are not too difficult if you study & read carefully. She is caring & will take time to help students. Highly recommend this prof, especially if you want a real education! Taking prof again.
She is a bit boring, and she cancels class all the time. She also completely forgot what time our final was, and didn't show up. Struck me as kind of lazy...
Animated lecture style. Explains the sometimes obscure subject matter very well. Occasional sarcastic humor. She allows students to bring a 3x5" card with notes to the tests. Responsive to emails.
Hard class, but she makes all of the topics very interesting and close to home.
this class is really stupid. You don't learn anything really, and she is a hard core liberal who likes to put her political views into lectures. very bitter about life! I worked my ass of and only got a B. Don't take this class with this teacher!

Loved the class, loved her! Discussions got kinda boring, but overall she's a nice lady.
Philosophy major, who switched to Donaho thanks to this crazy raging liberal. She is mean, bitter and her social context should not be in lecture. Do not take a course with her-
Sometimes forgets when class starts. Late on giving us quizes and often puts them off. Seems like a nice lady but at times she's a nut. Overall, she's ok. But I'm only half way thru the semester.
This class is very hard, sometimes interesting, Bedecarre is a bit absent minded and doesn't clarify ideas very well. But she is really hilarious!
This class was great. I loved it when people took things seriously & I would just sit back & laugh during discussions because everyone was pissed off. Luckily, I sat next to someone who wanted to actually learn in this class. Her and I made it through the class since we tried hard to understand what was going on. As long as you try, you'll be fine.
She's an OK teacher. Is not real clear about the material, and doesn't explain everything very well. Especially ethics. It was the worst class I ever had at Normandale. Also, just a side note, if you're not a morning person, don't take world religions at 8am.
Couldn't stay awake in one of her classes. Often off point and put her liberal spin on things. Very pacifist when talking about religion. Wouldn't recommend her.
Very Funny
Eh, it's an easy A (unless you're mentally challenged). I wrote my two "big" papers in under an hour each time in a laundromat. Tests are usually open book open group. Not hard... but I do think it was a worthless class. Lots of hotties in it though =)
She is funny, yah, she tends to ramble, but she knows a lot and is willing to share all her knowledge with every one. She is very understanding a very helpful person. The class isn't easy, but she does allow you to make a note card with notes for every test. I'd say go for it. If you don't go to class make sure you do the reading.
Great teacher. I love her.
Good teacher. Funny, helpful, interested in answering questions. She has alot of interest in the subject and a lot of knowlege to share. Some times she goes off on a tangent but it is always interesting.
Ethics class, pretty interesting. Prof. Bedecarre is an excellent teacher - I had her last semester and decided to have her again this semester. I recommend her...her lectures are definetly for more sophisticated people. If you expect an easy grade from her, don't have her as a teacher. her grading isn't hard, but it's not easy. I really enjoy her.
Her lectures do not help you to prepair for the tests. If you take this class then plan on reading the book several times and trying to make sence of the material by yourself. Her tests are a bit to detailed for a "intro to world religions class". She is a very nice person;however, she could make better study guides.
Good at discusions but papers suck. She has two papers for the term if you do good on papers you should get a "B" average.
took summer session ethics, not terrible, easier than regular semester
Amazing teacher, she has a lot to offer students, always willing to help and talk to you about what you're learning about. She is an extreamly sharp woman, has alot of knowledge and cares about education...take her class if you like philosophy!
Very wonderful teacher and person. She's intellectual, cares about you, and she's smart, but not in a condescending way. Good in-class discussions. Makes you involved in the class by asking a lot of good quesions. Homework's not too bad. Take her and you'll learn a lot, she's a great professor, and will give you a lot of help if you just ask.
I think that this teacher is boring and she doesnt really make the topic being discussed very interesting. If you dont like trying to hard id advise agaqinst this super boring****ty class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!! :)
Lovely person, probably great for ethics etc. but terrible for world religions. If you want to learn all about christianity (say you are going into seminary school) GREAT. Otherwise you will be led to believe that buddhism ends with LIFE IS SUFFERING, hinduism is just a bunch of dieties with no purpose, and judaism has a lot of rules.
Not the greatest teacher ever but she's not terrible. Her lectures aren't helpful for the tests so plan on reading the book to learn everything. She is a nice lady but not such a great teacher.
She's likeable as a person, but not as a professor in my perspective; I cannot stand her extremely unorganized lectures.
Shes a nice teacher but not all that great at it. Shes disorganized and messy in her notes. DO NOT depend on her notes, they don't help you on the tests. Read the book and you could probably skip all of her classes and do just fine. Overall I didn't think she was that great of a teacher.
she is funny. i think u will like her class. the hardest test is hindusim and taoism. but she is cool if u don't understand she can explain a lot of things. i liked her class. u know i think she is the right person for this class. she is good to and understanding. i like that.
Good professor, a little disorganized. For the complainers, philosophy isn't supposed to be easy, you're supposed to think about it. If you don't read you'll get a bad grade, that's just the way it is in that class. Paying attention helps but it isn't everything. I'd recommend her.
shes wierd. i didnt learn anything in her class at all. side tracks about her life problems all the time.
She's a bit spacey, but usually gets the point across. Testing is very difficult, but she does care, and does her best to help you. The projects are odd. You have to put a lot into them, but they can easily be faked. I actually went to my places, but it took up so much time that a friend who didn't go got a better grade on them. C'est la vie.
A lot of her questions on exams come from the textbook. she is an okay teacher, likes to flaunt her PhD in your face. talks about acceptance but is not very accepting of some religions (in a world religion class). Easy class, easy grader, likes to joke.
she definitely knows the subject matter, and she enjoys it, but her teaching methods are a little hard to follow. her notes are all over the place, but as long as you listen to her and read the chapters, you'll do well. not a lot of homework
Prof. Bedecarre was a good instructor, projects got the students involved. In-class stretches were awesome, as were the notecards allowed on test days. Textbook is most definately mandatory, you MUST read to pass the tests. There were a couple in-class presentations which compensated for a very unprepared professor.
Extremely good professor, such a smart lady. I enjoyed going to class and hearing all her insight and interpretations. She made me want to learn more than required about world religions. Excellent Professor
Pretty good teacher if you have some prior knowledge to the subject. She is great at answering your questions after class. I actually enjoyed going to class and learn a ton of new things.
Good teacher but often difficult to understand without prior knowledge of the subject. However, she is disorganized and slow at getting test/assignments back. Her lectures are also disorganized and random sometimes. They have no order to them.
She's really disorganized! Can't follow her lectures at all. I was studied a lot during the whole semester but I still couldn't get an A. She doesn't answer any of your questions, and don't expect to get your assignments/exams till 2 weeks after the fact. I took this class, because it fulfilled 2 of the goals...it wasn't worth it all at!
She is a nice enough woman and she doesn't take attendance but extremely disorganized. Her lectures are all over the place with no order to them. She won't get your grades back promptly or respond to your emails. You could skip everyday and just take tests, as long as you read you would do fine. She looks like Olivia Soprano from The Sopranos- fyi.
She's a nice person....however, as a teacher she needs help! The class was really difficult our class average was always low. Whoever though she was a good teacher, was LYING....she disorganized, spacey and wrote very difficult exams. Some of the questions where not spoken about in class but they also weren't in the textbook!
Stupid class- i could have never gone and gotten an A. And by the way- if you're looking for an intro to religion and not a phil. class- here ya go. She's a nice lady but god is she a bad teacher. She doesn't know what she's talking about and can not carry the class anywhere. take this if you're looking for an easy A.
She became1of my favorite prof. She is super sweet, good harted, and trys to make the best of life. She has amazing insight if u R unsure of almost anything. However, she is spacy &hard 2 keep up with.Class is super dull, but the assignments are very "now" & worth discussing.Over all, great prof. who can give ur brain a good challenge,& some morals.
I love Corrinne. She has a wonderful laid back style of teaching that I think helps engage students. She remains neutral and respectful of all faiths and teaches them from a philosophical point of view. Because of this there are things like practices that she may be unaware of. She is very cool!
Great woman i thoroughly enjoy the class. Can be exciting or boring depending on the topic. I found other religions extremely interesting but christianity so boring. Basically class is like a story so i never really read txt book or studied much. No attenedence EVER which is nice but doesn't schedule exam dates ahead of time so be careful!
while attendance is not mandatory, you must attend to grasp the concepts. i found it easy to understand if you take notes on her lectures. she can go off topic but usually it is interesting stuff. if you are a person who likes to participate, you should have no problem with getting a good grade. I recommend her.
Corrinne's ethics class definitely made my moderate interest in the subject increase and sharpened my ability to think critically about problems relating to morality. She is down to earth, witty, and encouraging. She is also very willing to help her students understand the material, provided that they demonstrate a willingness to work.
Very interesting teacher. I got an A but the topic really interests me. You have to try hard to get an A on the tests, i read the chapters twice. overall interesting class and good teacher, I would recomend it
She is hippie like and in her own world but if you just listen to her during class you will do good on tests. She is good hearted though and likes what she is doing.
Is it Ethical for something like Rate my Professor to be used? Ethics was Awesome! Bedecarre IS very helpful and caring!
Teacher nice and professional at first; however, during 1st week I asked for help, and she seemed like she wanted to help, but did little for me. Her lectures went off on tangents often in class, her handouts were not easy to read and understand because they were unorganized. Decided to drop class and take different a teacher a different semester.
interesting class, cool lady. definitely knows her stuff but gets really off topic easy and lectures are rather disorganized. class discussions are fun and interesting. shes not a difficult teacher, just disorganized which makes the class a little tougher. but overall a nice lady and an enjoyable class. not hard to get a B, would recommend
Took her for world religions, phenomenal class, even more phenomenal instructor. Highly recommend, trust me. Difficulty? Pssshhh
Bedecarre is one of the funniest and all around best professors I have ever had! She made ethics easy. She knows what she is talking about, so just pay as close attention as you can. She allows for students to dictate their opinions and is very accepting of everyone. Take her! Especially if you want to learn WHILE receiving an easy A.
she's hilarious. There's about 4 tests, 1 paper, in addition to a paper and a project. Pretty easy course, except reading the chapters is a must. Awesome class.
i had her for world religions. the class was easy if you read the chapters really well. her lectures were not very clear she is not very helpful, and a little scatter brained. she is very funny though. you must read the text to pass the tests
Good teacher. Funny. Really knows her stuff. Sometimes her answers would get muddled, but she used analogies that made it easy to understand. Either you get Logic or you don't. I did, and I was able to offer clarifications to the students that didn't get it and weren't helped by her answers.
Corrine taught well, but seemed to skip around a lot. Papers and the project are easy if you follow the directions carefully. She is easily accessible and will help if you ask. I didn't like that I turned in the first paper on week 8 and didn't get it back until week 16. Make sure to go to class as much as possible and read the textbook!!
I love her! She's extremely laid back, and is very sweet. She rambles quite a bit, but she's tries her best to make you understand the material. She's also flexible with due dates as long as you explain your situation. Her tests are not difficult, as long as you keep up with the chapter and lectures. By far one of my favorite teachers at normandale
This teacher is not organized and fails to understand the students or take an interest in knowning them. I would not recommend this teacher at all.
This teacher is terrible. She is completely unorganized. She is up front about how many points there are in the class but nothing else timing of tests is unpredictable. Her lectures are not useful on the tests which makes the tests incredibly difficult. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HER AND AVOID HER AT ALL COST.
For an ethics professor, she did not teach in an ethical manner. She called on people she knew would agree with her and cut off people who disagreed with her. I often left class feeling humiliated and belittled. In addition, she was unorganized and NEVER returned some assignments. I would write more, but the character limit is... well, limiting.
She is very hard to follow at times but she is so easy at grading! She wants to hear from the students what they think about ethical issues going on, and that's a good thing. She WILL call on you if you don't say much which I HATED because some opinions are just private. Material was interesting but a bit repetitive. Overall I would recommend her.
Took ethics with her. She's super funny and knows how to teach! By far one of my favorite classes at Normandale and one of my favorite professors here too! I highly recommend her to all.
Very interesting lectures, I had her for world religions; and she really connects to all of her students. The lectures are quite animate, and I didn't really read the book like at all and I passed just fine, there is two essays which are fairly easy but VERY important. She is also incredibly helpful outside of class.
Lectures get long and a little boring but she has a feel for when she is losing the students and brings us back nicely! Very friendly, funny and helpful!!!
She has long lectures that seem like they lasted forever. You definitely need to work for your grade. I worked hard for a B. You have two papers during the semester and she grades them exactly off the rubric so make sure to include everything. Must read text to pass tests. She is nice overall, but does have her moments. I would not recommend her.
A very understanding professor. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Make sure to read the chapters. I would recommend her
She's a great teacher and knows a lot about the topic. She kind of knows too much and doesn't know how to explain things or "dumb it down". She's really funny and sweet. Enjoyed her, not really the class.
You need to remember an excessive amount of theories. She is condescending to students while in group discussion. Goes off on tangents that are incoherent or not relative to the class. Avoid and take any other Philosophy professor.
Corrine is very knowledgable not only about philosophy, but many other topics as well. If you are interested in learning, take her class, you will not regret it.
Read the chapter and pay attention in lecture and you'll be fine. She is kind of disorganized, but I liked her quirkyness and she was very fun.
I loved this class so much. Corrine is a great instructor, fun and very helpful. She does a wonderful job of helping you see through the eyes of so many different cultures and religions. I wish i could take this class again! She's very understanding and will work with you, just make sure to communicate! 3
She's very bubbly and funny. She is knowledgeable and willing to chat outside of class to help. Overall I enjoyed her personality and insight, it made class more exciting.
Corrinne was a great ethics professor, though a little disorganized and scatterbrained. She's super super liberal (which I love but others may not), and she does a lot of discussions revolving around current events. I personally loved her class, but sometimes she has assignments that are kind of unclear. Also she takes forever to grade.
She is a kind person . Very disorganized and she is all over the place. Takes a long time to grade homework and papers. Tests are okay. Here test reviews are confusing though.
Honestly, she's a nice lady and I love her;as a person. As a teacher, she didn't give out a course schedule. So you don't really know when stuff's going to be due and when you ask she says she'll post dates but doesn't and only mentions them in class. If you go to class, you'll do fine. Don't by the online text though, never opened it even.
Good class to begin one's oversight and insight into World Religions.
great lectures but horrible with essay feedback. it is not the end of the term and I have only received grades (feedback) on one essay out of six. two of them she had to cancel because she was so hopelessly behind. Take this professor only if you don't need to know what your grade is in a timely manor. I will avoid this instructor like the plague.
Lectures are really interesting, and will make you WANT to come to class. However, she was heavily behind on grading this semester. She didn't update grades online; I didn't know my grade for the class until it was finally posted on my transcript. Also, apparently you get 100 points for "attendance and participation", no clue how she calculates it.
I had not received any grades for any of my three papers until the end of the semester. Her tests were very simple multiple choice. Attendance counts for most of your gade but I was tempted to skip because her lectures were very unstructured and mostly examples and debate that would never show up later or be tested on.
Corrinne is an overall good and caring teacher, who has lectures that are usually pretty easy to follow, and allows you to think for yourself, and explain your reasoning. Corrinne is easily better than most teachers.
Best Teacher at NCC
First let me say - the class in itself is easy. But she is impossible to get a hold of and has the WORST organization I've ever seen in an online course. It's as if she just decided to teach this class as an afterthought: only 2 assignments are graded and finals are next week. I was so excited to take this class but left disappointed.
Never has she graded a paper throughout the entire semester. Exams and final are easy if you just write down notes in class. You cannot fail unless you just don't do them. Very disorganized. Book taught me more than her class ever did, not mandatory though. She opens up deadlines for you if you talk to her. An okay teacher if you want the credit
Corrinne is a wonderful, sweet woman. However, it's pretty hard to say that she's a great professor considering that by the end of the semester, she still hasn't graded a paper that was submitted in the middle of the term. Most of the times her attempts to explain concepts from the unit go over your head. Intelligent and kind, but very unorganized.
She is very disorganized. She did not put grades in until the end of semester after finals.
She may very well be a better in-class teacher but she is a TERRIBLE online teacher. Nothing makes any sense, she didn't have anything posted for the first week, due dates are unclear, needed materials are unclear, the assignments don't make any sense, she doesn't actually use D2L so make sure you check your email every day. Don't take her online.
Very self-important, didn't take criticism or counter-arguments well. Talked about every religion like they were selling it, was very ignorant on certain histories such as Norse history.
DO NOT TAKE!! WORST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!! She is extremely rude and does not care about her students. She has 3 things in the grade book and we have two more class meetings until the semester is over. Has yet to grade two 80 point papers from the beginning of the semester. You learn absolutely nothing and her lectures are pointless.
I don't know what the negative reviews are all about. She is extremely intelligent and her lectures are some of the more interesting at Normandale. I love her class and am excited to go every week.
Incredibly disorganized, not clear on expectations, assignments, or deadlines. Get ready to use D2L a lot because she won't communicate what's due, how to do it, or when it's due. Instead of celebrating the diversity of her class, she picks on students with differences and makes them uncomfortable. Grades aren't posted regularly.
The semester ends in a month, the essay we did the second week of the class and the sixth week of the class are still not in the grade book. I genuinely don't believe she knows what she is talking about, she just goes on tangents.
Love her. Very caring and interesting, gonna miss her next semester, shes hilarious!
Our last class was last Wednesday, it is now a week later and I have NO GRADES in yet. I have absolutely no clue how I did on my papers or both tests we took. We had 1 in class test, 1 take home and 3 papers to go with it. Our first paper was due the second week of class and STILL dont have a grade. Never has presentations for notes. HORRIBLE
Great Lady
Corrinne was an amazing teacher! She is passionate about what she is teaching and always wants to learn more! I miss having her as a professor. She is super caring and funny. Also, she has gotten better at getting grades in. My final was a day ago and all the grades are in. I don't know what the other reviews are talking about.
Absolutely the worst proff I've ever had. Goes on tantrums. Lecture w/no notes EVER I didnt receive a single grade until 3 days after the course was over. Terrible at giving expectations and deadlines. Extremely unorganized. Syllabus posted on D2l was clearly from her last semester with wrong dates. Never handed out the right one.
Not accessible outside of class. Replies to emails very late if that. 1 time I tried talking to her after class about an assignment. I was confused b/c she didn't give a rubric of what she wanted. When I asked her she walked away ignoring me. IDK I thought it was professor's job to at least try to help us succeed. Be aware before taking her class
The struggle I had in her class was her changing the dates a couple of times. Never knowing when things were really due. Her study guide was not helpful, more than half of the stuff on there we didn't learn. She is not easy to get ahold of. I would never take a class with her again. Not organized enough and a late paper and test grader.
If I could go back, I wish I would've dropped this course during syllabus week. Professor Bedecarre is the worst professor I have taken in my 2 years at Normandale. She is NOT accessible outside of class, her criteria is unclear and she doesn't put any grades into D2L until the end of the semester. If you're thinking of taking her class, do not.
She does not post grades and you'll never know where you are during the semester. Her lectures and everything about her is so disorganized that you don't know what to expect in her class. She doesn't give clear feedback. If you are planning on taking any of her classes I would recommend that you look for other options.
Disorganized, but a very funny teacher who you can't help but laugh during her lectures. Make things entertaining. Very passionate about students having a successful future. I wasn't too worried about the lack of grades online.
All around mess. Constantly forgets what she has previously taught us or when she assigned projects and papers. Doesn't grade anything until the end of the semester, but isn't a harsh grader. Doesn't cancel classes unless she's sick.
Ms. Bedecarre didn't grade any assignments until after the term ended. She routinely showed up to class late. There was little to no clarity in the way of how the class was constructed. Each class consisted of unstructured lectures. She is extremely unresponsive via email, and does not update D2L. That being said, she does know a lot about religion
Very disorganized and grading criteria is not very clear. Waited until the last week of the semester to put grades in d2l. Lectures are funny but you just spend most of the time discussing with groups. Does not have a clear plan for class over the semester
Corrinne is a very sweet and intelligent person. She will make you laugh at every lecture and she is caring. However, her classes are very disorganized and D2L is rarely used. Classmates told me she never answers emails. She showed up to class late and waited until after the final to start grading everything from the semester, other than tests.
her world religions class proves she's knowledgable. Does not explain background info well and just jumps into content. I understand more from reading the textbook than lectures. Not aware of time management, does not respond to emails, very disorganized, changes syllabus, goes on tangents off topic often. But she's very nice, easy class
Very funny and caring but incredibly disorganized and impossible to follow when it comes to her lectures and materials. Assignments: only one paper graded before the end of term, many she didn't grade at all, and deadlines were routinely extended to accommodate those who didn't finish on time. Also, she DOES NOT EVER answer emails!!!
When it comes to her lectures, she is extremely disorganized and difficult to understand. It honestly seems like she doesn't prepare for any of her lecture at all and she just makes things up on the spot. She is really bad at getting back to you with grades and emails. Also her grading criteria is very unclear.
Worst professor I have ever had. Very disorganized. Does NOT communicate. Most of the time you have no clue what you are supposed to be working on in her class. Taking her class was the worst experience I have ever had. If you take this class make sure you wont need help because it will not be given to you. For lack of better words she sucks!!!!!!
Excellent instructor.
