Not that it matters, but Prof. Castronovo is so HOT! His class was super easy, attendance is not mandatory, and his tests are really easy, and on top of all that he has a great sense of humor. Take him, you won't regret it!

Really cool and funny professor. He's also completely fair. Midterm and a final (which he gives a review for)...no quizzes, research papers or anything else. And the Italian, Brooklyn, SWAT team thing that he has going on is so HOT! lol

Walking in last semester, all i knew was his name ... which screams Old guy with bad accent! to my surprise he's a young and attractive professor. (besides the point though) He's very helpful, clear, and gives great notes. 2 tests, easy if you put some effort into studying. Class is always interesting cause he loves to joke around. Take him!

This professor is simply awesome! 2 tests, midterm and final. Powerpoints and everything on the notes is on the exam. Gives a clear review before the exam of exactly what will be on each exam. He is an ok professor. All notes are via-power point. They are SUPER LONG & he does NOT send them to students, so you have to go to class.He's a funny guy but his test can be a little tricky & there are only 2 test. He tells you not to write the book but the book would be helpful. Take your laptop if not your hand will fall off from all the writing

Pretty cool teacher, never keeps you in the whole class, no book required, no attendance required. He only give two test so you better not slip even though they are multiple choice and he does an awesome review. My one issue with him was that you have to take notes off the screen whiles he's talking and thats hard to do when he want participation.

The book will hardly be used. Even if you have Cosimo early, you will not fall asleep, just sit up front. He's hilarious, knows his stuff, and above all he's GORGEOUS. Take him for whatever you can :)

SOOOOO GORGEOUS. Very clear about his work & his exams are super easy. Just attend class and you'll do fine. TYPE YOUR NOTES cause sometimes his powerpoints are packed with notes plus its faster to type than write I think.

One of the best CJ professors in FIU. Classes were structured, understandable and fun. Has experience in the field so he was able to provide accurate examples of everything. Never stayed longer than needed and book was not needed... GO RED SOXS!!!

Nice guy and quick witted, but all he does is read power points. He is helpful to the students but could teach more about the subject. Anyone can read material to the class, but a professor gets you to learn. FIU needs to hire professors only. Again, nice guy but not a great instructor.

Very easy class, ended with an A. Two exams and that's it, so you must do well on both. Don't bother buying the book. Make sure to study the powerpoints!!! Gives a pretty good review prior to examinations so pay attention and write down what he wants you to know. Other than that, he's really nice and helpful and super funny. Easy A if you study!

He is the BEST PROFESSOR ever, taking him for corrections. He lets us leave early. Dont need the book. You just have to study the powerpoints, and also gives study guide. only 2 test. He is very funny and awesome, if you havent taken clases with him, DO SO.

its true this professor is funny and keeps the class fun but there is only 1 midterm and 1 final if you fail one your grade falls. this semester he gave us extra credit. since he was gone for 1 month. overall i will take him again but his reviews are weak and his tests are somewhat detailed overall easy class to pass.

Great professor wish all were like him! His funny and tries to always entertain the class and make it fun you don't need The book but study what he says on the power point I got a B+ his grading is very fair! Only two exams don't miss the reviews for them because its technically the answers from the exams so he won't be emailing that!

By far one of my favorite CJ classes. Class consists of a midterm and final which are based on powerpoints. He's always cracking jokes so the class is never boring. Oh and did I mention he is totally HOT? That Brooklyn accent and whole cop thing hes got going on. DAMN. Definitely recommend this class.

In global terrorism your grade is based on a final and midterm. He does reviews for the test (50 m.p. questions). He gives 20-30 questions and answers and the rest are RANDOM questions from the powerpoints. He's funny, but the material is boring.

Prof. Castronovo is a great instructor. Sometimes he goes too fast, and his reviews for the exam are not 100 % as the final. Expect a midterm, final and weekly questions. The final was supposed to be online as the midterm, but at the end the final was in class.

Fun and interesting but reviews maybe give you 1050 questions. Tests aren't easy you have to go through literally hundreds of slides to study. You have to work for that A but its fun and hey, its college not kindergarten! Only issue is he's denied giving some students an extra point for the 90 but gave it to others. Id still take again!

Hes hilarious, and truly makes a class that is already interesting, amazing. Dont dare take this class with anyone other than him. I have an A, weekly questions are easy and tests are online.

He's very funny and his lectures usually aren't boring, although he adds a lot of anecdotal info. You do one long homework, which is kind of easy, and have a month to turn in. In class he grades participation and 2-3 questions that are cake. Outside of that you get one midterm and final and that's it.

You found his name and are having a hard time deciding whether to take his class or not. Stop with the hesitation and enroll. This man without a doubt is a great professor. If you miss class you'll regret it, honestly truly. I wish he taught all Criminal Justice classes.

Castronovo is an aaawesome professor who respects you if you respect him. He is very understanding with grades as well! BUT if you are not a great test taker: do NOT take his class. It is based off of a midterm, final, and attendance. There's no homework or assignments whatsoever to help weigh in if you don't do well on one of the tests. Good luck!

Go to class to receive the attendance points and the participation points. One midterm and one final, the final is not cumulative. Funny teacher and his lectures are interesting. Tests are online and timed.

Amazing professor! He has personal experience in the criminal justice field so he can actually give legitimate responses to students about situations. His exams were both online but timed. Only 2 papers, both easy A's because he didn't grade hard, and a Midterm and Final. Didn't use the textbook at all, just his powerpoints and I passed easily.

This class basically consists of a bunch of lectures and just 3 grades - midterm exam, final exam, and a paper. His instructions for the paper weren't very clear and when he gave his grades, he wasn't very specific about why we received that grade. Other than this, he was a great professor. Extremely funny and caring.

Professor Castronovo only makes you do the midterm, final and one other assignment. The last assignment could be a paper, a group project, or a quiz on a video. He doesn't give midterm or final reviews because they are not needed. Use his powerpoints and you will pass the exams. He is funny and he's always telling jokes.

Second time taking him because he is easy. Only 3 grades for the entire semester; midterm, video/quiz, final. It is impossible to fail all the powerpoints have the answers which you are allowed to use for the exams.

What a great professor. His approach is to teach from his life experiences instead of just reading the book which makes it easier to learn. We only had a midterm, final, and then a quiz on a serial killer from a video we watched. He's very caring and teaches for the benefit of others. Easy class. Take him!

This class was fully online, with no lockdown browser. Easy A. Quiz every week and discussions every other week (all easy, discussion topics are mostly in the book). I once got a wrong answer on a quiz that was actually right, I told him and he apologized and changed my grade.

One of the best professors I've had at FIU! He took a heavy class subject (Homicide) and made it engaging and extremely enjoyable. He constantly inserts his humor into the lectures and truly wants his students to succeed. He has a lot of experience in the field, so the lectures are a mix of important information and the real life application of it.

Weekly quizzes and discussion that require two easy responses. Plus a midterm and final. I took his class for a short spring term and it was great! Definitely recommend him! I've had him twice and always get an A.

I have had this professor for 3 or 4 classes now and he's amazing! I actually learn new things with some of the work he gives us. He really cares about his students but he has made his quizzes a bit harder which is the only reason i gave him a 4..

The professor was very straightforward, the assignments were NOT much to do and NO we cannot work ahead in his class. It was a smooth ride. Passed his class without using the book and did well on my papers.

Took Spring 23's 6-week course consisting of quizzes, midterm, & final. LOVED not having group projects/assignments/discussion posts. Don't skip modules as most quiz answers will come from these slides. Some test answers are from the book-don't skip reading just because slides are available. I'll take this Prof again, if given the chance!

Would 100% take this professor again if available. Answers emails in a timely manner and is straight to the point. For my course, he only posted 10 quizzes that were due weekly, one midterm, and one final. If you read the book and use common sense, you can easily get a good grade. Definitely recommend taking him whenever possible.

Easy class if you read the book, however the class is graded on very few things. Professor answers in a timely fashion, however there is no extra credit, so if you don't get the grade you want on the tests, you'll be stuck with it. Ten quizzes, one midterm, and one final, all pretty easy. Definitely would take again.

Can't recommend it enough, it is impossible to fail this class. The whole class consists of a couple quizzes.
