Fun class, fun teacher

A high calibur insructor...really loved the class. Count Troupe helped me get over fear of public speaking with his trust and caring for his students and thier success!

I really enjoyed this class cause it was an easy A. The only thing that blew is the final. The final had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with anything learned in the course and took over 3 hours to complete. AHHH!!

He is the best! If you are willing to do the work, you will succeed. He is funny, entertaining, and a really nice gentleman. I loved his class! He did a good job of making our class like a family, and we all loved going! Brilliant man! Really wants you to succeed!

Very good is all I can say.

Enjoyable, fun guy, I had him for an entry level speech class. Seems to really enjoy his job. Curious what he is like with a more difficult class.

Count was a great professor! He was very clear on what he wanted, and super easy. If everyone showed up on a consistent basis, the final was super easy. Show up to class!

He is seriously the best teacher I have ever had. Every school needs a Troupe. You will have so much fun in this class. He is supper easy and it is obvious he loves his job. He automatically starts you off with an A and as long as you show up and do your speeches you will keep an A. He is very funny and makes class enjoyable. A++++++++++++++++++

He is honestly the best instructor I have had in any schooling. His methods and teaching style make it easy for anyone to get over their fear of speaking. I could only wish half my other class went as well as his did.

I have never like speaking in fron of people but Professor Troupe helped me out in this. This class is an easy A+ if you show up and do all the work that is asked of you. I would recommend this class to anyone who needs speech. Professor Troupe is the best teacher at Chemeketa and should be greatly recognized and thanked by everyone.Take the class!

Professor Troupe has honestly been the best teacher I have had yet! He cares about his students passing his class. He makes public speaking very enjoyable! It was not a hard subject for me but it was for my sister and she got an A+! All you have to do is come to class, have a good attitude and do the assignments. Highly recommend Professor Troupe!!

Troupe was helpful, and his class was EASY AS PIE. If you don't like speeches, this is a good starter class. If you contribute to the class doing well as a whole, the final test is a take home! I was thrilled about that.

Professor Count Troupe is very helpful and willing to work with students. He grades in a way that is constructive yet positive, and if you put in a good effort, you will get a good grade.

Count is an excellent professor who truly cares about his students. He grades fairly and wants to see you succeed. It is highly important to attend class.

Before taking this class, I was not looking forward to speaking in front of people. I had extreme anxiety just thinking about it. Troupe did an excellent job with lessening the anxiety. A lot of teachers grade based on how well you do on your speeches. Troupe Doesn't. As long as you give your speeches, which are not hard, you will get an A.

I took his sp111 course and had a blast!! I was shocked at how much I love this one as well. The best part if this sp115 course is the guest speaker presentations. You learn a lot more about different cultures than any book or professor could ever teach you!

As long as you do the work, you'll do fine. I was frightened to take the class, but once we got down to the last speech, my fears disappeared. He helps you get rid of the fear of speaking in front of groups! If you can, TAKE HIM!

He is enthusiastic, really nice, and he will give you necessary feedback. :)

I'd recommend taking any speech class with him that's offered. I am TERRIBLE with speeches but actually enjoyed presenting in his class. :) Definitely two thumbs up.

I was scared about giving speeches but he certainly creates a comfort zone. I enjoyed the class so much that I consider taking another speech class with this professor.

I was so shy to speak in front of the gourp. After I took Mr. Troupe's Speech 111, I feel myself so comfortable to speak with any people. I have learned so much in his class. I hope he teach more classes in Chemeketa.

Count made this class, which I had been dreading so badly, surprisingly fun. I detest public speaking with a passion, but he made it bearable, almost fun, and help boost the entire classes self esteem. Amazing teacher!

Professor is great! He's supportive, understanding and really makes everyone feel good about themselves. Before this class I couldn't speak in front of a group. By the end I was so confident. Honestly I know you dont want to take a speech class but Count Troupe makes it real easy to get through it. A+

Count has high energy and loves what he does. I was fearful of public speaking but he makes it a fun learning environment. There was four individual speeches and one group speech. One of the best teachers I have had at Chemeketa, I highly recommend him.

As long as you PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE your speech and turn in your note, easy "A." Very laid back easy going and fun to be around.

He is a great professor! He knows what he is teaching and gives assignments as the class progresses. Most important thing to remember is to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!

This teacher is hilarious!! Come to class and give your speeches and you are given an easy A. He said he will be retiring soon, so enroll in his classes ASAP!! He changed my life forever. Seriously. This class was amazing and I feel like I will really use this material down the road in job interviews or group projects. Count Troupe rules!!

Count Troupe can make the daunting thought of speaking in front of crowds seem so small. As long as you trust and do as asked and never forget to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE you will be successful in this class. He is a man of many talents and great stories. Relax and enjoy the class!

This was by far the best class I have ever taken. The term went by too quickly but our class was pretty fantastic. Professor Troupe has been the best professor I have had yet. Do the speeches, practice, and try your best. Everyone in class was supportive and wants the fellow classmates to succeed.

Mr. Troupe is an excellent speech professor. He's not a fan of "busy work" for his students; his focus is only on making them better at public speaking. Don't miss class, take your notes, and do your speeches. If you do your best, you'll easily pass his class. In fact I'd be concerned if someone CAN'T pass his class. You really have to try to fail

The best speech teacher you will come across. He really cares and wants you to improve. Take him!

Best teacher that I've had in years! I'm an A student going for a double major and loving his class. He forgets to say things sometimes and gets impatient with the student doing it wrong but then explains and corrects himself and the student. He should have students practice while teaching the COMM class instead of just lectures. Practice Practice!

I really liked his class. All you need to do is show up and do very little homework. I think there were only like two assignments (I am being serious). He cares more about you understanding the material with class discussion.

He is the best COMM instructor ever. He is so helpful. As long as you prepare for the project, you will get an A. He is so funny and how he teach is interesting.

Very easy grader. If you're scared of speaking publicly take him. Class has an accepting atmosphere that is encouraging to everyone. My class didn't have to take a final and I ended with 100%. If you have to take a speech class and really need an A, definitely the best teacher.

Easy easy easy. Class projects teach you. He doesnt do much teaching so if you want to learn something dont take him. Very nice and easy to pass.

Troupe is likely my favorite prof at Chemeketa because his expectations are always appropriate of his students. I took Comm111 and didn't feel any pressure or judgement. He's aware that his students are people and that his class is likely mandatory for them, so he tends to be kind and give his students and easy enough go.

He is very passionate about his students succeeding! I loved his class, if you are someone who hates talking in public this class will teach you and help you get better at it.

Troupe has reasonable expectations. You'll do well on your speeches as long as you fill his requirements, his main goal is to get you comfortable speaking in front of people. If you're already comfortable speaking in front of people, he has very little to offer. Attendance is mandatory, and he expects you to be all-in. Overall, very easy A though.

This professor is the best he is very funny. The speeches were pretty easy. Every class he had us laughing. I am now not afraid of giving speeches. If you need a speech class take him Easy A. For the last 3 years everyone has received a A.

This Professor sincerely LOVES his job and cares about his students. He will be your biggest fan as you learn and progress. Ive seen him take aside students who were seriously struggling and encourage them and press them to keep going. Ive seen students transform by the end of his class. You WILL give public speeches & presentations & EXCEL!

A great class that puts you out of your comfort zone, as all public speaking does. Professor Troupe is a caring guy, and a wonderful mentor. Hes easy to listen to, hes funny, and he gives people the knowledge to succeed as a public speaker. 10/10 would recommend taking this class with him.

Mr. Troupe is a great choice for a dreaded topic. He is straightforward, caring, respected, and very encouraging of his students. If you show up and do the work, you will get 100%. His feedback on speeches were always positive. He offers sound advice for this class and in life. I would definitely take a class from him again.

Mr. Troupe is probably one of the best teachers I have had so far. Because of the more social nature of the class, I was able to meet more people and create friendships outside of class thanks to him. Easy going class, show up to class and you will pass and we used the textbook only once! Overall great for a low-key and achieving your requirements

His assignments include a lot of presentations so be ready to up to the front of the class and speak. So long as you do the work you'll almost always get 100% on a assignment . If you are either a bad public speaker or find it fun this is the perfect class to get the practice and get an easy A.

The most fun I've ever had in class. This professor encourages making friends in class and overcoming your public speaking anxiety. As long as you participate you will get an A.

Get ready for a speech just about every class. I enjoyed it, easy class, he is old school, only turn in by paper. This class got me over my fear of speaking.

Mr. Troupe is a great professor! The class work consists of presentations and note taking based on the chapters in the textbook and other assignments. Not much of a tough grader, so as long as you do the work it will grant you an easy A. (Btw the notes are meant for you to use during the final - which counts for a big portion of your grade).

Professor Troupe is a great guy. He truly cares about his students and gives great feedback. His class is very easy and your grade is mostly based on the 4 speeches, midterm, and final. The midterm and final are open book! I 100% recommend going to every class (plus you need to sign in for attendance) since he does not post announcements on Canvas.

He makes the class very clear and explains everything well. If you listen and participate its an easy A. Not test heavy and as long as you take notes you can use them on final. Definitely one of my favorite classes.

Troup is a man to be truly respected. He cares about the improvement of his students. It's an easy A while you attend every class and you participate. But that easy A comes with the true improvement of speeches and the development of decreasing stage fright. I truly recommend it as it was really fun to be in his class.

Fantastic prof for 90% of the class. Group projects, teaching each other, and fun research. Super easy. The only downside was the final, where he wasn't very clear about expectations. I still got an A, but annoying to go from 100% to 90%.

Count Troupe has been one of my favorite professors I've had so far. He is an easy grader, as long as you do the work you will get an A. The assignments he gave out were pretty easy. I would definitely recommend taking him if you need too take a communication class. A lot of times class would end 30 minutes to an hour early.

In-class notes are graded, it's a note/lecture-heavy class. Also, lots of discussion so make sure to show up and keep up with attendance. The main part of the class was a group project presentation. Count is inspirational in the way that he presents information and he is clear on expectations and grading criteria.

Girl this is easily the best professor I've ever had/ probably will have. He's sweet and kind and cares for his students (and his wife.) He uses a lot of metaphors in his teaching and I find them to be insanely useful in my learning as a new college student. He tells his personal stories to connect with the teaching which is amazing and inspiring.

Be prepared to give speeches. There's one group presentation that has to be around an hour long and it's based on the online book. Midterm is an essay answering general questions about public speaking (which you can take home to finish). The final is a demo presentation on a topic of your choosing. Nice professor, but can be intimidating.

Does an amazing job of teaching how to speak clearly with confidence. Gives good criticism. Class feels intimidating at first but feels better with time. Only downside is the final is extremely large and does not make sense in certain parts. All in all, I came out of this class as a better public speaker.

Gave good feedback and seems like a pretty nice guy. You get points as long as you participate. But his voice is kind of deep, hoarse, and quiet which makes it hard to understand him at times. 1 group presentation involving the textbook. Everything is in paper which can get a little annoying. Final is really long with a take home exam and essay.

He's very respectful and classical. Participate in note-taking, and write the outlines of your speeches, they're very important. If you have a conflict, discuss it with him, he's extremely understanding and is a very kind man. Make friends, it'll make you feel more comfortable. I would recommend taking his classes. Practice, practice, practice.

Count Troupe is an amazing teacher. We had to do speeches and presentations but its not too bad. He is very gentle and kind and if you need to turn an assignment late, he will allow it. I loved having him as my teacher!!
