great teacher. very very easy! you have alot of class days you dont have to come to! her review sheets are just like the test!
I was in Courtney's weightlifting class. It was a free credit hour to go work out on your own. She is very laid back and understanding. It is refreshing when you have a challenging load to have a easy going instructor.
VERY VERY VERY EASY..attendance is beneficial for you. gives you plenty of time to work on assignments online-(shouldn't take more than 2 wks and your done for the semester)SHE gives a review that is very much like the test.A LOT OF "ON-LINE DAYS" -->you do not have to come to class some days. easy credit hr. BOOK IS NEEDED. (CANNOT BE USED)
terrible teacher. doesnt teach you anything about working out attended everyday of class and got a C. No help at all. Class was always cancelled. not only did i lose money but i got a C in a class that should be a guranteed A.
I had this prof for bowling and took her 215 class. Teaches from powerpoint, which she makes available. Test are slightly harder than average, but they cover material taught. She hands out reviews. Class attendance is "mandatory", but you are allowed so many absences, along with all the online days, you could still miss half the class and get an A.
VERY EASY!!! If you show up to class everyday you have class, she will give you an A. And keep the pages you get from other classmates.. it will be her final
Ms. Wallace is a smart, wonderful, outgoing, intelligent, great teacher! She has become my favorite health teacher! I would recommend her unless you are lazy! She won't put up with laziness and tardiness. Her teaching is excellent!
A PRETTY GOOD PROF. SHE DOESNT LIKE A BORING CLASS BECAUSE SHE'S VERY TALKATIVE AND LIKES 2 INTERACT. SHE GIVES ALOT OF ONLINE ASSIGNMENTS BUT GIVES ENOUGH TIME 2 DO THEM. CLASS IS CANCELLED ALOT BUT OVERALL THE CLASS IS STRAIGHT.
Pretty easy. All lectures are on Powerpoint. Gives review sheets before each exam. Exams are EASY!!! She likes to talk. Always in a good mood. Cancels class or says its an "online" day A LOT!!!
she's very understanding, and i really appreciated when she helped me out in some hard times i was having this semester. certainly the most laid back of all my profs, highly recommend her as a teach.
Class was short and painless however the exams were more detailed than the powerpoints. The online quizzes and assessments really help with grading. Attendance is required. Professor Wallace is very nice and caring and will help you if you are having problems!
Super Easy class, Very laid back teacher, doesn't like a boring class, Attendance is HUGE if you don't attend class, you should just drop it because you will fail if you don't attend class.
Courtney is amazing! You need to bring your book and planner every class period. Her test are straight from the book all you have to do is read the chapter and take notes. She is such a great teacher, she's very helpful, and you can talk to her about anything. If you don't take her then you missed out.
She is an excellent teacher. She usually lets class out here and has a great sense of humor. If you have your phone out in class though as she says.."you better run"she always gives a review out for exam. if you stay after class about 15 minutes she helps with the answers. Webcoms are super easy. Never took notes and I am making an A in there.
Mrs. Wallace is AMAZING. She has a joke about cell phones that makes everyone laugh every time. She is very interesting and laid back. She often sits on a table very casually and connects with the students. Completely recommend her. You won't have any better Kinesiology teacher.
Easy class and pretty fun, she will explain things well but she is an attendance Nazi!!! Doesn't matter what the excuse is. If you're dying you still better not miss class. Has no sympathy towards personal issues.
Favorite teacher at Sam! Very helpful. Attendance is mandatory, but she makes class fun. Tests are straight from the review. Easy A!
Courtney is an awesome teacher super laid back . Yes she is strict on attendance but she cancels class sometimes which is always nice. she will become more of friend then a teacher she is very interested in her students and loves her job. She doesn't make you read the book instead she'll give in class assignments. Take her as much as you can! Ez A
Courtney is cool. She likes to get involved with the innovative games she teaches. The classwas really fun and if I could take the class again, I would. No textbook, but she does hand out one sheet of notes that you'll have to study for the final exam. DONT BE LATE TO CLASS!
THE BEST PROFESSOR hands down. She is very helpful and informative and def works WITH you. Always goes out of her way for everything; if there's something she can't help you with, better believe she'll find someone who can ASAP. Highly recommend her! fun, easy-going, interesting, & caring. huge heart with a huge personality & smile to compliment!
She is poor excuse for a teacher. She is VERY RUDE. She not helpful at all. For the mid-term she excepted you to know the material. We didn't have the material in the first place. She very strict and if miss something she won't help you out at all. She has a changed a lot as a teacher.
She was helpful and made the class fun. She is only strict about using cell phones during class. Its a really easy class.
Courtney is an amazing professor. She genuinely cares about the material and whatwho she is teaching. Her exams come straight from the notes, nothing tricky. I can't wait to take more classes taught by her. The book is mandatory because we actually use it. Don't be late and put your phone away.
Wallace is an awesome teacher. She's very clear about her lectures, and is very personable. Just make sure to keep your phone put away, and don't sleep in her class. Other than that, she's great and you should have an easy time.
Show up to class, do the reviews and you will be fine. Her tests are straight from the notes, lectures and power points. She is a very lenient professor and hates phones.
Easy A!!! I would take again. Book not needed. Use your internet sources.
I love her classes she is awesome and understanding. She really talks to you gives you feedback. Works with you. Amazing lectures you will remember. Just an amazing teacher I truly enjoyed.
Courtney is a really cool, down to earth professor. You can tell she really loves her job and enjoys helping students. She gives online assignments on some Fridays meaning you don't have to show up to class and she will end class early, but YES BEWARE SHE ABSOLUTELY HATES PHONES!
Great professor who actually cares about her students. Also, she does a lot including being a professor so i really respect her for that and her lectures aren't difficult and easy to understand
DO. NOT. TAKE. HER. She worries more about who walks in 2 seconds late and uses their phone rather than your grade. She says she'll help you and in the end screws you over. There's not a day you won't hear to put up your phone and "give respect", yet it's not really something we got from her. She treats her students like children. Don't recommend.
Not Hard, but not easy!!!! You have to read the book to pass this class!! She has a great way to help you learn with the reviews, however the test are not from the reviews. On her test, some of the questions are what I think is tricky, and misguided. I would def take great notes as you read the chapters.
There was homework due every week but nothing to hard. It comes straight out the book so make sure you get it. There are quizzes every week and 3 papers due during the term. No group work and there are exams after each unit. Do the work and you will pass.
She definitely over exaggerates how easy her class is, and doesn't always give clear instruction on what she expects. She HATES phones and when people walk in late but overall a good class, but it does take effort to make a good grade!
She is really big on disrespect if you walk in late or have your phone in her eyesight she will stop the entire class and go on a rant. However, besides for that her class is simple and easy. There is a 7 page research paper, 2 exams, a quiz, a volunteer project, and a group project. If you never miss class she adds 2% to your final grade.
Tons of busy work in the online class. I would not take this class in person, I recommend taking the class with a friend or finding someone early on that you can split the course work up. There are tons of questions that come from the book and you actually have to read the chapter to find the answers. tests are on quizlet. easy A.
There is a 7 page research paper. but its really your opinion. It is really easy to make an A if you give it the time. Professor wallace is big on respect and will make shady comments if you walk in late or if you are on your phone. just stay off your phone for an hour, it isn't that hard. if its available, take this class online.
SHE IS VERY PUNCTUAL- if you're often late to classes this is definitely not the professor for you. Although this is a writing enhanced course there is only one essay that it 5-7 pages long and it's not a difficult subject to write about. The course itself is very easy and interesting to learn about; the hardest part is the group project at the end
Took online for Summer 2018. There are DQs and quizzes for each chapter, straight out of the book , basically fill in the blank for quizzes and test. Book was only $20. Study the quizzes and you will definitely pass the test. One 3 page paper of a disease of your choice. 3 MC Tests. Gives 2.5 extra credit points at the beginning. Easy A.
It is very hard to review the prof for this course as there is little to no interaction with her. All of the course is done through an alternate website that you purchase. I completed the entire course in 8 days with a 98% average, it is a piece of cake. Easy credit.
Through the semester, we had to write 3 essays. 2 of them were individual essays and 1 was a group paper. We also had to do a group project that included a lot of parts but it wasn't too bad. Wallace does not accept late work under any circumstances. She does give extra credit to those who have perfect attendance.
You will definitely need a book for this class. There's a research paper required and 1/2 discussions but if you do the work, you'll get an A!
She is attendance HEAVY. Don't even bother walking in late because she will call you out.
For 2383, she gives you 3 free absences and the rest is fair game. She gives no mercy, except the free absences. 23823, there are MC test but are worth like 10 points each, had quizzes every Friday online (online days), 7 page essay and group presentations. 3380: Same rules apply, in this class theres 4 tests+quiz; no cumulative final (thanks!!)
Extremely rude and disrespectful in emails and no help whatsoever at all when I had questions. It was nearing midterms and I still had assignments from the beginning that were not graded. Do not take her
She is so rude in emails and doesn't grade your papers, just the APA format... so it doesn't even matter what you write, just if the APA format is correct, just an FYI before you take her.
Gives a lot of opportunity to succeed. She does her best to help you out, but with that comes no grace if you do not take opportunity of it. Easy to talk to and very understanding.
Loved her lots but no phones in class and DO NOT BE LATE!
Loved her lots but no phones in class and DO NOT BE LATE!
She is not a good teacher, do not take her, she will say she is not a writing teacher but will grades very hard on all of the papers. She reads straight from the powerpoints and she does not respond to emails in a timely manner. She will not let you make up any assignments. DO NOT TAKE HER!
Absolutely horrible professor. By far the worst Ive ever taken. She is really rude. If you want to keep your sanity, dont take her. Ive never had such a horrible professor and Im a senior now. She doesnt want her students to succeed, she would rather see you fail. Doesnt grade ANYTHING until the end of semester. How does she have this job?
Wow. By far the worst professor I had in my four years of college. She is not sympathetic to students and does not give any feedback. She graded our assignments about two weeks before finals week. Easy class but terrible professor.
Easy A if you do the work! PowerPoint lectures, quizzes after every chapter, book is required. She provides you with material you need to make a good grade in the class. I'd definitely take Professor Wallace again if I could!
This class was very easy. She opens up all the due dates at the beginning of the semester, so you can work ahead. This was very helpful for me, and allowed me to focus more on the bigger classes I took. Take her for an easy A!! You do learn some cool information in this class as well.
This professor is very unorganized. She had TBA blackout dates on the syllabus & never gave us an updated calendar. Instead, she sent last minute emails the day that assignments were due. If you miss the email, you miss the assignment and get a zero. No if's, and's, or but's. Class is easy, but she will ruin you. Horrible professor.
Worst professor hands down. Waited 2 days before grades were due to put grades. I saw I was failing so I asked to redone the assignments I failed / extra credit opportunities. She didnt allow for any saying that she had to be fair to everyone instead of just giving everyone the opportunity. Doesnt care about her students, did this during covid.
Professor Wallace is a very good professor. Though some may say she is a hard grader, she only wants her students to excel. Overall this was a manageable class but required a lot of effort into each assignment.
I took her for multiple classes b/c she was the only option. She waits till the week before grades are due to submit all the "big" grades. BE CAREFUL because she will screw you over and have you thinking you have an A in the class till finals week then you're failing b/c she posted all grades. Other than that classes are fairly simple, minimal work
I took her for 2 classes one semester & she wasn't good at all. Her tests are 100 q's in 90 mins for one class the other class was 75 questions in 90 mins (a little better). The only reason I didn't receive a 4.0 this past semester was because of her. She gives very little feedback and skipped over important sections such as lgbtq+ info.
Not super sure why the bad reviews I have taken her for multiple courses at SHSU and have made A's in all of them. Yes tests are long, but since taking her online during covid it hasn't really been an issue. Tedious yes, but not hard and still made A's on all the tests. Straight forward work just have to get it done. Honestly really easy class!
Class is pretty easy. She post everything at the beginning of the semester. Doesnt allow extra credit and wont take excuses. I understand that she wants to be equal to all students, but things happen. She should open up to being more considerate of students lives outside of school.
I took this class online even though all the work is fairly easy Professor Courtney Wallace will not work with you at all. She rather you fail then pass, you can send her a paragraph of an email and she will respond with 3 words read the syllabus even if its not stated in the syllabus. If you want a good grade and fun time DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
Absolutely terrible. Do not take her she takes forever to grade assignments and doesnt give good feedback. I emailed her various times with no response.
I love this professor, one thing is she is very attendance-heavy and takes off a lot of points for that. 3 tests that she says aren't meant to be hard (but actually are) so read the textbook. Very easy quizzes that she makes you do before she starts the chapter. Some in class and out of class activities that aren't that hard.
This class had very interesting material, and not much work. There are weekly online quizzes, some in class activities and she often gives you fridays off. The tests were much harder than anticipated, they are not easy at all and very specific so be sure to study really well. she has a very cute and small dog that she brings in during the final.
ASSIGNMENTS ARE DUE AT 5PM!!! The course work was not horrible, my work and school schedule just did not allow me to do and complete assignments by 5pm. I failed this course because of the deadline on all her assignments. If you have other obligations that do not allow you to sit down and work on homework until the evening, do NOT take her class.
Okay here's the thing this class was easy but a lot of it work. GOD BLESS, EVERYTHING IS DUE AT 5!! She doesn't accept late work at all. I am a full-time college student and work 50+ hrs a week. . . stuff happens. I missed 3 assignments and struggled to make a C- in the class. She is too harsh of a professor. . .
Okay here's the thing part 2. Nowhere in her syllabus does it say due at 5. I later found out she sent an email at the beginning of the first week of class. AN EMAIL!!! The sis loves to hide things in emails. I even emailed her before q-drop and asked her if I could still make an A after missing the first 3 assigments. She assured me I could.madeC-
This was the worst professor I have experienced while attending SHSU. Her assignments were all due at 5pm, which did not correlate with my work schedule, and her email responses were very limited. Ms. Wallace is an unreasonable professor who does not seem to care if her students succeed in her class. I would not recommend taking her for ANY course.
Although many people do not understand Professor Wallace's turn in time (5pm on Fridays), she does it so she can have a positive work-life balance. If you simply do your work, you will make an A.
I'm not sure why all the hate for Prof. Wallace. Her online class is very organized and straight-forward. If you do the work and turn it in by her 5pm deadline, you will pass the class. Plus her writing assignments are interesting and kinda fun. She is also very quick with email responses. Don't let the other reviews scare you. She is great!
She is organized but she gives you absolutely 0 wiggle room to improve your grade even by just a couple points. It is all teach yourself (no recorded lectures) which is fine but she does not allow any extra credit what so ever and for a 1366 class she grades hard. Exams are all 75 questions worth 7.5pts. Chapter assignments are 4. So don't miss any
Prof. Wallace was pretty decent in her setup on blackboard. Yes, ik assignments are due at 5 pm but if you do the work you get a good grade. so I finished this class pretty early. She posts everything on there which is nice.
She is not a bad instructor, however, I felt as if I was in high school in her classroom. We were not allowed to use any electronics during lecture. She did not care about individuals learning styles, we had to type or write our notes. Heavy on group projects and heavy on lectures. Tests were not that difficult.
This professor did not reply to any of my emails. I took this course online and she gives no room for error or unexpected life emergencies. The content was fairly easy as an online course, but I recommend taking a different professor.
While she is nice, and is a good professor, I felt like I was in high school again. She does not allow any electronics, so be prepared to take notes with pen and paper. She is a slow grader. This course is not hard, however I would try and find a different professor if you can.
This professor has many issues: a problematic grading system, over-reliance on the textbook, and potentially illegal personal questions. Her assignments are poorly constructed and full of errors. Be cautious of the exam, as there are no instructions on obtaining LockDown Browser.
She was a very good teacher if you are able to do online classes effectively. Also, her assignments aren't very difficult just require a little bit of reading.
Overall, Ms Wallace isn't an awful professor. She tries to make the class easy, and light with coursework. She sometimes gives out many free points to help your grade. Try to be on time (she doesn't like lateness) and always be prepared because there are ZERO excuses with her. Does NOT, give students "make-ups" or grace when life emergencies arise.
She is a great professor! Just make sure you come to class prepared (i.e. bring your printed PowerPoint notes or the textbook to every class) and DONT be late! She is big on attendance. If you don't miss any classes, you get extra credit. If you miss more than 3 classes, she starts to deduct points from your grade. Overall, I recommend her!
make sure to do your work right the first time bc she will not take late work or redo's. she dont play that. I found the textbook pdf online, so I dint buy it. but it's very handy. I honestly would have gotten an A but I missed two quizzes. she just had some quizzes, 2 text and some assignments.
Dr. Wallace is a professor who knows the material like the back of her hand. She tells you everything you need to know for her class, you just have to pay attention during class. Dr. Wallace doesn't allow cell phones, tablets or laptops out unless you are working on a project during class. Show up to class, be respectful, & you will pass!
I believe that prof. Wallace makes a straight forward class harder than it needs to be. You cannot access your quizzes to study for the exam. Miss a couple assignments and you'll regret it. There's absolutely no making them up either unless you know you will ahead of time. She's not great at answering emails. Chapter questions are worth a lot.
Do not take her unless you're okay with zero email communication and zero leniency. It felt like there was no interest in student success because she won't do a single extra thing to help students out. To me, that screams not passionate as much as other professors I've had that are happy to spend a couple extra minutes like extra cred. 1366 btw..
If you do not like presenting, do not take this class, if you do not like group work do not take this class. Overall she is a great professor and shows it through how she teaches. As long as you show up and if it your all she will do the same. If you show up and give 100% there is absolutely no way that someone could fail this course.
