Cool class, interesting subject, but teacher is shallow, baised toward greeks, and tends to ramble.
Mrs. Worsham is so genuinly nice. Her tests were straight from the outlines and notes in class. She takes attendence, but I recommend going anyway because if helps you make an A.
Not hard, tries to make it interesting, but if your a guy, her examples will bore you. I don't think she favors anyone, not a hard class.
She is a really good teacher. Has great stories and examples that really make you pay attention. Fun class and atmosphere. Highly Recommend her!
Worsham is great. Very easy. Lets you know everything you need to know for test, which come directly from notes. Just show up to class and you'll be fine. She's interesting. Tries to tell lots of stories and gives good examples. It can be a little to simple sometimes, which causes you to lose interest, but worth it in the end, i guess.
Great teacher-nice, cares about students, tests are straight from notes. She's fair and funny. Willing to work with you. You have to study your notes, but if you do that and come to class (there are sometimes in class papers), its an easy A
Really nice; very helpful. The only problem with her class is that the extra credit is really skimpy.
Very nice, and organized. Tests come straight from notes, no surprises. Does take attendance
She's so nice, and tells you what you need to know for the tests. Your do need to go to class and it really helps to read the book. She makes the class very interactive so it's pretty fun (as fun as marketing can be).
Took this class in maymester. She was very clear, gave great real world examples, was very helpful and easy to contact. She made the material fun so it wasn't that hard.
She is a really fun and exciting teacher. She is always willing to help and makes the class fun. The best teacher I've ever had at USC.
AMAZING!!! She's by far one of the most caring, interesting and down to earth professors I've ever had. I still remember her examples and what I saw in class. Everyone should have her. Too bad she's not teaching consumer behavior next semester.
She's such an awesome person and makes the class really fun. You learn a lot and she always offers ways for extra credit. Her tests are a little difficult and can be tricky so u need to study way ahead of time to get an A in her class, but overall, she's worth taking over any1 else.
The best Marketing teacher at USC. Always willing to help, accomodate, explain, and talk. Very nice person!! She wants to hear what you have to say, but does not force you into anything. Pay attention in class and write down everything (including examples) and you'll do fine on the tests. 3 or 4 tests, 1 presentation. I wish I could take more
really nice! i tried to get into her class all summer long just so i could have her- and it was worth it! i love her! gives revelant and amazing examples that you will remember. go to class- it is fun! ask ?'s if you don't understand- she will gladly answer! overall i give her a 10! take her. shes already saved me and its only 3 weeks into the yr
Wants to be a student again... very social and loves to get to know students. Keep up with material and you will hardly need to study. If you are a social person, take this class for sure, if not, you can still do well easily.
She is awesome! She keeps class interesting and exciting. Her examples of mktg terms are hilarious! There are lots of note to take and you won't have time to slack off or fall asleep in the class. It is a very interesting class and makes you think. I love her! I strongly recommend her!
entire class is straight memorization so tests aren't difficult but require a lot of time to memorize terms. book not really necessary but helps if you miss class. gives lots of notes and entire class is spent taking them. easy A.
She is a great professor, always willing to help and wants her students to do well. But this class was not her best because it wasn't interesting and she didn't seem to like it very much either. Straight notes from text, not like her intro class. (Test from book too)
Prof. Worsham is cute. She got into her lectures and kept things interesting. Put up outlines for the notes and detailed study guides on Blackboard. The final ended up being optional and from what I hear, it was very easy and could replace a low test grade. There were random in-class writing assignments, to check attendance. I really recommend her.
Why does USC pay people to read out of a book to its students? She teaches DIRECTLY from the book and adds nothing of value. The concepts you learn in the class are useless. It's just a bunch of definitions that you'll forget by next semester. This class should never be taught again and she should be fired.
She reads straight from her notes. She knows good examples w/ conceptual stuff but does not know how to show good examples of calculation problems...then she puts them on the test and they are really hard. Missed class a great deal before exams, and still had a sub that TRIED to teach it to us. i hated this class! Not intersesting at all
4 tests, material is straight from the notes. She gives a study guide before each test so you know what you will be graded on. You just have to memorize key terms/ themes for each exam.
Really awesome professor. She gives 4 tests during the semester, but gives you the option to not take the final if you are satisfied with your grade. Just took the last test today and know I'll have an A, so I finished the class several weeks before finals, really helpful! Always willing to help, and very nice. Loved the class.
One of the best professors at USC hands down! Is very considerate of students; test are fairly easy IF YOU STUDY. Dont text during class because she will call you out (very polite about it). Rarely stayed in class the entire time. Made Mktg fun! (Hopefully she teaches or will start teaching upper level mktg classes so I can take her again!)
Great teacher and she really knows her stuff! Although attendance is not required, she does random fieldwork assignments [she gives you a small assignment to do for a grade, sometimes we turned it in during class other times we could bring it back] I got an A with very little effort and WITHOUT THE TEXTBOOK!!!
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! She wants her students to do well. She makes class as fun and exciting as possible. She gives a review sheet before every test that lets you know exactly whats on the test.
Ms. Worsham is great! She tries to keep the class interesting and is incredibly kind and helpful. Overall the class is pretty easy with an optional final, but you have to study somewhat for the tests. You do learn useful stuff. I highly recommend her!
Ms. Worsham is very friendly and loves knowing all of her students. Her class wasn't necessarily difficult but serious studying is needed for the tests. The book is needed because everything isn't covered in her lectures.
I just took her for maymester and she was super nice and more than willing to help. Studying and knowing terms and actually being able to understand and apply the concepts are a must for the tests because the multiple choice questions are like story problems. Go to her review sessions because she gives helpful hints for the tests! Great teacher!
Good teacher, but tests are a hard, all application problems. EXTREMELY slow grader so don't expect to get your tests back for atleast a week, but other than that good teacher.
Worsham was a great teacher who really knew her stuff. At first, i thought her tests were hard but then as the semester went on i realized that she really does explain everything in class and gives great examples. tests are situational, but again, she makes it easy. Go to her review sessions, they really help. She cares about her students. Takeher
Class is pretty interesting and fairly easy. She makes the material very clear and even fun. Gives helpful review sheets prior to the exam with specific topics to cover. Gives a lot of points to help your grade, but beware if you don't like going to class! Over all, a great prof.
She makes the class really fun & interesting. All of her test questions are application questions so make sure you fully understand the material. Sometmes she even curves the grades! Overall, I liked this class & Ms. Worsham makes it fun. Take her!!!
Take this class!
I recommend her! She gives helpful tests review sheets just go through those before the he exam and you're good. Her lectures are funny and interesting. She wants to give you an A. The final in optional and cannot count against you.
Courtney Worsham is flat out awesome. I loved having her for marketing. She makes great study guides for the exams and is very fair about homework and extra credit. I ended up being exempt from the final. But I loved going to her lectures she is great about relating to students despite our age gap!
Her class was very interesting and fun. You have to buy the book for the class and keep up on reading the chapters. She had office hours so I came there for help. She really cares about us and wants us to succeed. I really enjoyed and learned a lot in this class
The good news is this class is easy. The bad news is attendance is mandatory and she is by far the most clueless and most worthless professor i've ever had at this university. She uses the lecture slides provided by the book and reads straight off the book provided notes. Easy if you have a pulse but be careful she's so bad you might kill yourself
Courtney was a good teacher but her class was challenging. Although she does not take attendance every day I would recommend going because sometimes she will or other times will tell you about hw in class and the ppl who aren't there have no clue. She is really nice and helpful but you do need to study and show up if you want a good grade
Decent professor. Reads from the slides which are from McGraw Hill. Not very good at responding to emails. Boring class. Took attendance occasionally throughout the semester.
Not hard to pass but you need to show up, doesn't take attendance all the time but randomly does or give in-class homework assignments. Reads off slides but she is a very sweet lady. Responded to my emails and concerns promptly and can be accessed easily.
One of the easiest classes I've taken. All you have to do is read the chapters and do the learnsmart assignments - which are required anyway. Attendance is mandatory but it's not so bad. She's the sweetest lady. I would definitely recommend this professor to anyone.
Nice lady, and makes an exam review that is really helpful. Nothing bad to say about her except she gives easy assignments in class, basically to make you come, otherwise you wont get the credit for them. good professor tho
She is a great teacher, gives allot of examples in class. This is nice because she relates her teaching to everyday life. Read the book and go to class and you will get an A. Final is not mandatory, unless you want to replace a grade on a test you did poorly on. She makes the class fun. I WOULD TAKE HER!
Worsham is the best. WANTS you to succeed. Distributes hw assignments and has you sign in randomly for attendance so it's up to you if you go. Four test and a final. Final isn't mandatory if you like your grade already but replaces lowest if you want it to. Online hw is completion-based, complete 2 marketing studies for grad students. TAKE HER!
Very boring. Randomly takes attendance. Nice lady.
Really nice and helpful. Great teacher and lady. Little work for B.
Do the study guides and take notes in class and you'll be fine. Tests are 65 questions; 5 tests takes highest 4 grades. Some questions on tests are tricky but some are common sense. Pretty pie class
Her lectures are really long and dry but she gives great examples. If you pay attention to the examples, it helps a lot for exams. Exams aren't too hard and the lowest gets dropped, so you can exempt the final. Don't bother buying the textbook - powerpoints are enough. She's always willing to help, just don't wait til the last day of class to ask.
Good professor. Really seems to care about the material and students. Assigns Connect homework and reading which helps prepare for tests. 4 tests; and six written homework assignments. Material is straightforward; mostly definitions. No complex problems and no projects. Test questions are hard but doable with studying. Randomly takes attendance.
Never had a professor more full of herself in my entire life. Would be different if she actually did her own work, but she doesn't. Reads straight from the slides every class. Represents everything that's wrong with the DMSB.
Such a good professor! She's very knowledgable about marketing and passionate about it. She goes through lectures quickly (about 1 chapter a day) so be prepared to take notes fast. Her tests are a little tricky but if you get a solid B and do the homework you can easily get an A. Just go to class and do the work. I strongly recommend her.
Super easy class. As long as you do study guides before each test you will get a B with minimal effort. If you do all of your marketing studies and homework it should bump your grade up to an A. She is personable and funny as well which helps! I highly recommend this professor!
Test are really hard and Lectures are very long. She does give lots of extra work that will boost your grade if you do it.
I took her MKTG 350 class and loved it, but even though her MKTG 461 class was just as easy, she never graded anything within a reasonable amount of time (sometimes took months..), incorrectly entered grades, gave a huge group project and you can get stuck with a dumb group.. Easy class, just super disorganized.
She is so sweet and her lectures are fun to listen to. There are a lot of tests, homeworks, and attendance points so if you put in effort, your grade should be fine.
Professor Worsham is a very nice lady but her lectures are extremely boring. It is an easy class but she tries to trick you up on the tests so its actually hard to finish with an A. Also NEVEERR puts grades in and is very unorganized all together. If there is someone else I'd recommend taking them
I think marketing was a really interesting class and Worsham will have some great stories/examples for the material, but she also spends a lot of time just regurgitating what the slides/book say. She is a very, very slow grader and her tests tend to have poorly constructed questions, but it's an easy A. Attendance is taken randomly.
Worship really knows her stuff and lectures are pretty interesting. The material is extremely easy and she post lectures online. Only thing is that she only allows 3 absences and counts attendance almost every class, and WILL drop a letter grade if you go over 3. Test are super easy so I would definitely recommend.
Lots of heavy lectures, but all her notes are online. She talks very fast, but she gives good examples and explains well. need to participate inn 4 marketing studies. She randomly takes attendance and you don't know which days it will be. When she assigns field work homework, she only mentions it once so if you're not there you will miss it.
She pretty much reads from the textbook so you don't have to go to class. She does occasionally take attendance but as long as you don't miss 3 of those you're fine. Her class is really easy but she has four tests throughout the semester so there's a test every three weeks.
Prof. Worsham is very caring and clearly knows the material very well. My main concern was that it took way too long to get grades back. Also, the group project for Retailing Management is very time-consuming and requires extensive time spent outside of class. She was always willing to help and work with all students. Good class all-around!
She doesn't take attendance but I'd suggest going to class to do well on the exams, because her tests are kind of hard and are 50 questions long, multiple choice. Lectures can get boring but make sure you take all the notes you can because theres no information on the powerpoints. There are a lot of requirements for this class.
Easy class for the most part. Go to lecture to get attendance points, do the learnsmarts and you'll know the entire test if you read over them again for studying. 4 tests plus a final but very doable MC tests
There will be a lot of tests, homework, and you need to go to class. I recommend buying the textbook, because the tests are primarily based on the book. She does not have good power points, they are basically the book in power point form. If you want to be prepared you have to listen in class and take notes. She does take attendance clickers
Awesome professor! Always willing to help, definitely knows her stuff too. Her tests are a little difficult, so studying is a must. But, she's a great professor. Take her if you actually want to learn.
Here is an honest review of what you will experience in Worsham's class. Mandatory attendance and long lectures with PowerPoints that come straight from the textbook (purchase of an iClicker is required, too). Tests are purposely made to be more difficult than necessary. That's all I can really say about this class.
Do not take a class with her! Material is super easy but she makes the tests 10x harder than it needs to be. Doesn't reply to emails. Takes over a week to post test grades. Super unorganized and is always late to class even though she complains about people being late. Tons of hw and quizes. Must attend class. This is just my experience, good luck
As others have said, her tests are way more difficult than they should be, given the easy nature of the content. The questions are very vague and poorly structured. Studying doesn't seem to help because her study guides don't correlate well to the questions on the test. Lectures are boring, she reads from a powerpoint directly out of the book.
This class has been horrible. She takes forever to upload any grade online. The tests are very very difficult and attendance is mandatory. You need iClicker 2. Study Guides barely relate to actual exams. Exams make you want to jump off of a bridge. For those of you taking this class--BEWARE.
You'll have tons of homework to do in her class, attendance is mandatory, test are much harder than it should be. Never grade in a reasonable time. Avoid her if you can.
Tests are much harder than they need to be and grades go up two months or so after she decides she has free time. Not to mention she reads straight off a print out powerpoint. AVOID
As long as you show up for class and take notes easy A. She makes specific comments on what exactly will be on lectures... basically gives you answers to tests in class. She is so nice and will make time in her busy schedule to meet with you. Homework is super easy and takes zero brain power. TAKE HER!!!
Prof Worsham is a great lecturer and really knows what she is talking about. She's funny, relatable and keeps your interest in a big lecture hall. However gives tons of homework and quizzes but NEVER mentions due dates or even reminds you that you have them (all through Connect). Same goes for exams, study. She will not remind you when exams are.
Prof. Worsham is nice and very laid back. Her lectures are boring she just puts up a PowerPoint and reads from it. Lots of guest speakers. No attendance. Her test however were ungodly ;; 50 long multiple choice 3 out of 5 short answer questions with only 1hr. long difficult group project. Dont expect grades until a month after the semester ends
Reading/skimming over the textbook before doing the online homework really helped me. However, the homework was often due weeks before we covered the material in class, which was slightly frustrating. Lectures are long, but she sometimes had good examples. What she said in the lectures often appeared on the tests. Poorly-worded test questions.
Super easy tests, grading scale is clear. Would recommend
Professor Worsham is engaging and makes the class material pretty interesting. Exams are pretty much copy/pasted from homework questions, so as long as you read the textbook and practice using the online homework, you'll do well on the exams. There is homework due pretty much everyday before class, but its easy and doesn't take long to do. Easy A.
I strongly recommend to avoid taking this class with her at all costs. Her test are extremely vague. All multiple choice tests, but there are always two right answers. Homework is due online before every single class. Her lectures are straight from the book. Study guides do not correlate with the exam. This class was hard for no reason
Highly unorganized and difficult to ask any sort of questions to. Talks to students as though they are dumb and like they are a bother, is more concerned about sororities than anything else. Be thankful if you get any sort of grades back, let alone in a timely manner. Class should be an easy A and she makes it much more difficult than necessary.
Prof was amazing. She told great real life stories. She made a detailed subject easy to understand. She actually offered extra study for tests in her office with any students that wanted to come to it. We all just packed in. I learned a lot and wish the college offered marketing classes for art students. They need it and this prof could do that!
Not a bad class, but not a great professor. The tests are not bad and if you keep up you'll do fine, but not very helpful in class, etc...
Worsham is a great marketing professor, if you actually pay attention the material is so easy because she gives so many examples. Take notes, pay attention and give yourself a few days to study and you'll pass. Lots of learnsmarts and you have to buy an access code.
Sweet southern lady who loves teaching and the material. However, there's 4 tests and a final. You think everything is super easy and then the tests confuse you. Hw due before every class that takes a while to do. Tests are all example based, won't do well just memorizing she makes you actually learn it.
Courtney is not much help outside of the classroom. She can be passive aggressive and at time unhelpful. I hope that she can improve this quality; she has potential to be a better professor.
Honestly not a hard class as long as you read, study the connect quizzes and study guide. Interesting class overall.
Courtney is nice and knows what she's talking about in terms of marketing, but she was not my favorite professor I've ever had. She talks very quickly, and I don't think her notes are the most organized. Attendance matters, and she gives participation points during class.
Easy class with tests that are very easy to get A's on with some effort put in. She will stop class for minutes at a time to yell at someone that has fallen asleep or is not paying attention in a 250 person lecture hall and then complains at the end of class that she couldn't finish the chapter in time. Frustrating style of teaching.
lots of homework but helps your grade. My biggest advice would be to go back through the connect learnsmarts on self study mode before exams. The consistent homework forces you to keep up with the class which I like. Tests are kinda like know the definition and how to apply them. lots of grades but it's a good thing. The class is very fair.
Not that hard of a class and she drops the lowest test, but overall a very weird teacher. Loves to talk about anything other than what needs to be taught. Defiantly the better option in teachers but still not good.
Professor Worsham knows her stuff and makes the content fairly easy to understand. Tests can be a little tricky, with some questions having two possible answers. Not too accessible through email. Grade consists of 4 midterms (lowest grade dropped) and cumulative final, attendance points, fair amount of easy homework, and research participation.
Prof. Worsham seems like she is a nice lady, but she is a professor who will make your life and class harder than it needs to be for a "Principles" course. Her lectures are straight from the textbook and M/C test questions are extremely difficult. She will literally stop an already short class to call out someone who has fallen asleep. SMH
Usually have homework due before every class but it's not hard it's just time consuming. Her tests have questions straight from the lecture that arent on the slides she gives so take good notes. She's very nice and gives lots of examples. Highly recommend her for any marketing class
Loved her! Very sweet and cares about her students. Gives good examples in class so if you pay attention, take good notes, and study you will be good!
Most of the test are straight from the learnsmarts, but she loves to ramble during lectures that no one pays attention too. Absolutely psycho about attendance, so that is 100% mandatory. 4 test, final replaces the lowest. hw due almost every class. Will test you on things that she doesn't cover in lecture.
While Worsham does have a lot of exams, homework assignments, research studies, and regularly takes attendance, she is very knowledgeable and passionate about marketing. She makes lots of great analogies and is easily accessible outside of class time. Would recommend taking Professor Worsham.
I'm just gonna go ahead and say I'm sorry that you have to take this class with Worsham because she is probably your only option. I literally hated everything about the class. She is super nice but this class is so much harder than it needs to be. My biggest tips would be to get the required marketing studies done at the beginning of the semester.
Professor Worsham is caring and engaging, but the class is lecture heavy and she does not take attendance so skipping class is tempting. Semester long group project was worth 40% of our grade but it isn't too hard, just a lot of research outside of class. Tests come straight from the textbook.
She always seems like shes in a rush to get onto the next topic. attendance is taken every class. she is. Exam study guides are like 20 pages long and there is just a lot of material to study. She is probably your only option so, go to class and get your research credits done early.
Insanely strict attendance policy. Will stop class if she notices anyone in a 400 person class not paying attention. Spends way too long talking about one chapter, and the flies through the next chapter. Basic "lecture then test" kind of class, so rather boring and likely will not remember anything after the final. HW due before every class.
Very lecture heavy. 4 exams and then the final with the lowest exam grade getting dropped. 4 research opportunities are mandatory so get them done early. She is always in a rush to get through the info. The exam questions can be difficult to answer and if you don't know exact textbook definitions, it seems like there are 2 right answers.
I don't know why so many people struggled. Do your homework, fill out the study guides she gives you using the textbook, and show up to class. I played on my laptop nearly every lecture and got an A on every single exam. Get your research studies done early, they fill up quick.
she's the worst. don't take her. her tests are unreasonably hard for no reason. got A's on every other assignment but exams, and studying for them only made me get worse grades.
Professor Worsham is not as bad as everyone is making her out to be. She's really friendly and the class really isn't that hard. Most concepts are common sense, mindtap assignments have unlimited attempts except for the video quizzes (which you can click review to find the answers), and the tests aren't that hard if you put in some time to study.
Courtney is super caring, nice, and funny. She makes the class enjoyable (if you go) attendance is only .03% of your grade. Easy A.
lectures were boring and repetitive, lots of mindless homework, exams were a bit specific. very sweet woman with a heart of gold but would not have taken her class if it wasn't required. Do your work and study hard and you will do fine.
Worsham is eh. You have to go to class, there are homework assignments every week, and she has so many lectures. I will say the tests are pretty easy/manageable if you make detailed study guides, in which she gives you the content for the test. You have to do these Marketing lab studies for a grade, which are kind of a pain.
You will take four tests and she goes the extra mile to make sure people don't cheat. She tries to act funny but she isn't at all. She puts her powerpoints on blackboard and you will have work due every Friday and you have to do four marketing researches. If you want to pass I recommend taking the online practice tests through cengage.
Professor Worsham is great. Expect a lot of homework and quizzes. Turn everything in, show effort, participate in class, and you'll be fine. I learned a lot from her classes that I actually use in my internship/job. So there's actually practical and useful course material.
Professor Worsham really wants her students to succeed. If you take notes in class and study off of them you'll do just fine! Homework is also totally manageable. Such a kind lady!!
Professor Worsham is fairly nice, but makes the class extremely difficult for it to be a principles class that is not for business majors. Also, all tests are on a lockdown browser and there is a lot of homework. She does provide some extra credit through iClicker points. Four tests plus an optional final. I would not take her again.
Professor Worsham has been one of my favorite professors at UofSC thus far. She is extremely caring, and goes above and beyond with review sessions to make sure students really grasp the material. Despite this, the tests are hard and the class is lecture heavy. Be ready to take notes, but try your hardest and you will pass easily. 10/10 recommend!!
She is very nice and knowledgable, however her teaching style did not work for me. She flew through material, wasn't very clear on due dates, and would add or subtract chapters from exams at the last minute. Lots of material covered which left me feeling frazzled more often than not.
She gives PowerPoint slides as notes and adds information during the lecture. Its not a hard class. The exams are straight forward. Just pay attention to any specific examples or definitions she gives in lecture and youll pass.
I would totally recommend taking this class. The tests were on lockdown browser; however, she made it very clear what would be on the tests. She also did a review session on BlackBoard the night before the test. I think this course would also be easy in person. Just study a little before the test and you should get an A. HW is all on quizlet.
Courtney is awesome and caring. I have enjoyed sitting through her lectures even though they are not mandatory. She explains things clearly and will happily answer and questions. I highly recommend her as she wants her students to succeed.
she talks extremely fast but if you put in the work and actually study for the tests then they aren't bad
Prof. Worsham is a great teacher! If you pay attention, come to class, and do the study guides, the tests are completely manageable. There is extra credit for attendance, plus she curved the last test (not that you should need it). She is happy to answer questions, and I would definitely take another class with her.
She has such an outgoing personality and her lectures are very clear! She holds review sessions the night before the test which basically served as my only study time because they were so thorough. There were 4 tests and she curved one of them. Homework on Cengage was due every Friday, nothing too tough. Attendance is extra credit, but class helps!
Mrs. Worsham is possibly my favorite professor I've had all throughout college. She is very knowledgeable about the retail industry and gives great examples which makes class enjoyable. The exams, which consist of 50 multiple choice and some short answer are very difficult, though. Fun class especially if you are interested in retail.
Makes the class really interesting and relates the material to a lot of diff fields. Quick to respond, always has options available (ex. paper tests if computer stops working during exam), has live review nights before the exam, emphasizes what she wants you to prioritize learning. funny and considerate, adored this class. Last exam is optional
I believe she is a very nice lady and somewhat of a good teacher. The class is just very difficult in my opinion due to exams including 4 chapters on each with loads of information. The questions on the exams all seem to have similar worded questions which makes it even more difficult. Don't get me started on the amount of information on the final.
Professor Worsham is great. She is super nice and wants everyone to succeed. 4 tests and homework every week but it's easy stuff. If you do the work and actually study for the tests its not bad - the content was pretty interesting too. She also gives extra credit points from iClicker questions which really helped my grade in the end.
Professor Worsham is a nice person but takes way too long to grade assignments and tests. The lectures are boring and there are 3 tests which cover a lot of material. The class itself is not very difficult but not knowing your grade can be stressful when finals roll around. Also, there is a group project that is worth a good portion of the grade.
Professor Worsham is a great person and easy to talk to; however, it takes a long time to get grades back. The class has a few field work assignments, four exams, and a large group project. Exams can be difficult if you don't spend time going over the study guide.
I loved her! Her class wasn't easy as her tests were hard and basically the only grades but she does drop one test and the homework is easy. 10/10 recommend she's super entertaining too.
she does online homework that is due every week on friday night but you can do it anytime during the term. sometimes the lectures got boring but if you use her study prep tools you will 100% get an A. Its not a no effort A, but definitely an easy A if you put in even a little bit of work. she really is awesome
Prof Worsham was a great professor. Her homework assignments are on cengage and count for a huge part of your grade, so if you arent a good test taker, make sure you do them every week. Her tests are easy if you utilize her study guides and spend some time studying them. Everything youll need to know is in the study guides. Easy A if you try!
I LOVED Professor Worsham. She always comes to class in a good mood and makes marketing interesting. She is not a tough grader as long as you just do the work. Very good at responding to emails. She is so nice and caring about her students.
She is so sweet outside of class. I would take her but don't slack off because it seems easy. Exams can be misleading and she wants to trick you. She communicates well with her students. She made some comments that may raise some eyebrows but she's a solid pick for this course.
Professor Worsham's teaching style did not work for me. She flies through material and isn't very understanding when students come to her with problems. If you miss 1 small thing on a hw assignment she takes off half the points. Her exams are hard as she tries to trick you, and said some things that didn't sit well with students during the semester
Professor Worsham is a great professor. Tests aren't easy and require a good bit of studying, but if you listen to lectures and study the content on the study guide you are good. Class consists of 4 exams and a final (she drops lowest test score out of the 5), MindTap hw assignments, 3 additional hw assignments, and easy online research studies.
Dr. Worsham was a pretty good professor. She didn't necessarily make the class any easier or harder than it needed to be. If you're in MKTG 350, she has a large class so you will not get any attention from her unless you go through the TA. Weekly online modules and 4 exams was pretty much all you're graded on. Come to class to stay up with content.
This class is a joke. She wants to make it seem harder than it is because MKTG350 is renowned for being easy. But it's a piece of cake. Just do the mind tap. And also she's rude.
This has probably been my least favorite class in Darla. The exams cover a lot of material, have essay questions, and are hard to study for. The group projects are weighted a lot. She's a nice professor I am just struggling in a class I thought would be an easy A.
How to get an A on ALL her exams: Step 1- Copy all her lecture slides onto a big Google Docs. Step 2- Go through the text book and add any key information from each chapter in between her notes. Her notes don't have everything; But her notes AND the textbook combined, has everything you need to know.
She was one of the sweetest professors, but she doesn't prepare you enough for each exam. If you miss one lecture you are going to miss 5 questions at least depending on the lecture.
This class is very straight forward. Smartbooks are graded by completion. You can never go to any of her lectures and get a 85 on every test by studying the night before. It's a lot of material on the test but mostly common sense.
The bulk of the class was the 5 exams, but she drops your lowest one. Homework and smartbook assignments are easy A's. The 4 studies you're required to do are the most annoying thing in the class. As long as you study for the exams and do your work you should get a B or better.
Easy class, but incredibly dull. Also didn't really care to have the class interrupted multiple times by announcements regarding frat / sorority matters, as I was there to learn about marketing.
You can tell she is very personable and cares about her students. Warning: she is super strict with exams/cheating and you will need to take her exams in the classroom WITH lockdown AND with your bag in the front of the room. The McGraw-Hill hw is long and you will have one per week, but it's good to use the recharge feature to study.
Mrs. Worsham is the best in the explanation of material and bringing great examples. She is great at helping during the lectures or during office hours, and I don't think I can tell you more... She is the greatest professor I had ever met! Take her class without any doubt!
Professor Worsham is a lecturer I wish I could take again. While her MKTG class can be a good bit of work for students whose concentration is not marketing, she is excellent at explaining material and connecting students to leadership and extracurricular opportunities. Very caring. She talks a lot about Italy though, for no reason in particular.
Prof Worsham is amazing. Her lectures are really interesting and she's a fun lecturer. She's very sweet and cares about her students if you're putting in the work. She's very accessible outside of class and wants you to do well so ask her questions. She's very accommodating and asks for our input on a lot of things! I hope I can take her again!
She made the lectures interesting and she actually made me enjoy going to class! She uses her own personal experiences and examples that make the material easy to understand. The exams are very straightforward and use material from her lectures and the presentations. I definitely recommend taking her and wish I could take another class with her!
Honestly, if you show up for the majority of the lectures and do the review guide, there is no reason to make below a B or C. Her class is super lecture-heavy, but she teaches the best out of any Darla class I have had so far!
This class honestly is not difficult at all and you would be fine probably taking it with anyone, but if you want it to be even easier, take Prof. Worsham. You don't need to come to class, but I would recommend doing so for extra credit. The material is pretty boring but easy, make sure you study some for the exams.
I'm not a fan of Dr. Worsham but she's not a terrible professor by any means. For the first half of the classes she couldn't figure out how to get iClicker to work and was very sporadic about attendance. Also, she constantly bring up sorority & guest speaker stuff that I don't really care about. Lectures are easy going. Just show up and you'll pass
The material covered in this course is not that hard to understand. There is a good amount of information covered in each test, but if you go to class, then you should be fine. Ms. Worsham did a good job at teaching what was going to be on the test. There are 20 smartbooks that are quite long. She's very fair and offers extra credit.
Great professor with a lot of personality. Homework is easy. Tests are easy to get an A on if you study. Her lectures are very informative (they are long though) so I would recommend attending, but attendance isn't mandatory. Extra credit points in class. She is very understanding and wants her students to succeed.
Professor Worsham is great. She always shares real world examples of the concepts covered in lecture. The smartbook assignments are time consuming but easy points. There are 5 exams(drop score), 20 smartbook assignments, 3 homeworks, and 4 studies/research papers. If you put in the work you can easily do well in this class.
I love Courtney Worsham! Class is not mandatory, but you need to go to do well on tests. She makes a tough class as easy as possible and is great at explaining material. Exams are hard but she posts study guides and holds review sessions. Even as an 8:30 I enjoyed this class and Courtney is awesome!
Courtney means well and tried her best to teach her boring material. Her exams are what are ridiculous. Her test environments are nothing I've seen. Bookbags at front, no water bottles, no phone, check in with ID after test. Wifi sucks with 300 people of course. She's so against any possible cheating, she is hurting your grade on the test.
If you show up, take good notes, and pay attention, the class is fairly straightforward. Test can be confusing but online review sessions are very helpful. She is super down to earth and a great person.
I found her course to be very easy and lectures to be interesting compared to other big Darla lectures. Final is optional and can replace a past exam (didn't take it). Homework can be time consuming (Smartbook; 2 hours per week), but they will help you be ready for the exams. There are extra credit questions during class but you can do them online.
She was very nice but the lectures were very boring and it did not match with with the exams AT ALL. All the exams were completely different from the lectures and the study guides provided. Do not take her unless you want to study extra extra extra hard.
Studying for the exam matters, your grade depends heavily on it. There are Smartbooks due every week, and attendance is optional but I would still go to prepare for the exams
She is not a good professor at all. She says offensive things all the time, calling gentrification cool without any remorse and loves calling stores ghetto. Then she goes off on tangents and always take class over. Her exam study guides are basically just a list of topics, not helpful.Terible feedback and thinks she's super helpful when she isn't.
The class has a lot of work, but the lectures and Smartbook assignments are helpful for exam prep. Attendance is mandatory, but optional review sessions and Unstuck ai make studying manageable. Overall, a decent course with a fair professor.
Really good professor. 5 exams which is a lot but final replaces worst exam grade. Exams have a lot of content but as long as you study you will do good. She holds a review session on zoom before exam which is very helpful. Overall not a bad class.
She is an amazing professor and her course is very manageable. She does very helpful review sessions for exams and her exams aren't too bad. I 100% recommend taking her.
i just needed this for a credit but it hurt my GPA badly. Take management instead if you are not in Darla. all tests are in person and you just do McGraw Hill textbooks as homework and there are so many concepts. Super sweet woman and wants nothing but the best for her students but is challenging. Test material is more of application than defining
Super nice lady and is super involved on campus. Her lectures are good sometimes they can be boring but you just have to power through. Her exams aren't the easiest just due to the way they are worded, however as long as you go to her review sessions and use premade quizlets you will be fine.
She is honestly such a sweet woman and professor. She really wants everyone in the class to understand what is going on and although sometimes the lectures feel long and a little repetitively, it's always important information. She's the best as long as you study.
Class is not mandatory, however, highly recommend going to every class. The slides are on Blackboard, but she dives into further detail and explains the topic more thoroughly in class. The exams are fairly hard, but if you go to class you should be good. the homework are long but they do help. she posts study guides and does exam reviews.
Love Professor Worsham! She cares about her students and is extremely knowledgeable about marketing. Her class is lecture based and I do recommend going to class because the slides don't contain the information you need for exams-- she says all of it out-loud in class. Definitely get the textbook and use it for the exams and you'll do great.
Courtney is awesome! She has really interesting lectures, just make sure to stay focused and take notes on what she says. She gives you study guides for the exams, which are literally the exact content to the exams. People say that no studying can get you an easy B, but with just a bit of extra effort it is really an easy A
Courtney is super awesome. She tries to make lectures interesting and the homework's were smart books so easy way to boost your grade. Exams are pretty easy if you study the lectures. Attendance is optional but you get extra credit for going. She is the sweetest and tries to make sure everyone exceeds.
She weighs exams pretty heavy while homework and research are weighed super low, which is annoying. Be sure to study days before exams, they're harder than you think. Her study guides also aren't useful alone, be sure to read the textbook and study the smartbooks. Her grading scale isn't fair/normal, only 88-89 is a B+. I didn't enjoy her class.
Professor Worsham is a great person, but unfortunately I struggled with her class. There are definitely easier MKTG 350 courses out there. She drops your lowest test grade which is nice, but the tests are very difficult to study for in my opinion. Again, she's a great person, but I wouldn't recommend taking this course with her if you don't have to
super sweet prof. felt like this class was harder than it needed to be. lots of smartbooks and the studies were really annoying to do. I studied a lot for the exams and still got C's on 3 of them. very content heavy. However, she may round your grade if u ask and gives extra credit if you come to class and it bumps up your grade up 1-2 points.
Professor Worsham is a very engaging professor and really cares for her students and has a lot of great experience in the marketing field. The class material is relatively easy and if you listen to her reviews you will do fine.
Makes lecture engaging and interesting despite large class size. Exams are a bit difficult though and although attendance isn't mandatory, it is definitely necessary to attend in order to do well on the exams. a lot of technical issues were faced especially on test days, but other than that she was a great professor!
She truly cares about her students and wants everyone to succeed. Exams and group projects make up a majority of your grade and the final presentation. Attendance wasn't mandatory but it is important to go. After taking the first exam you get the hang of how the questions are asked. She is awesome!
Really nice teacher and truly does want you succeed, but the exams are really hard if you miss even the smallest thing in class. LOTS of material to remember.
She has so much experience in marketing, as a professor, and at USC, which make her anecdotes during lectures so interesting and valuable. If you take notes during lectures and pay attention to the Smart Book assignments, you will easily get an A in this class. This class is so easy, but Worsham makes it fun with her awesome personality!
SO HARD. i loved her as a person, but as a professor she was terrible. lectured at us the whole time every class. the tests were insanely hard for no reason. chooses to forget not everyone is a business major and gears her whole course with the intention that we all have prior knowledge in marketing. actually had to study so hard to get an A.
This professor only cares about certian people and it is obvious. She is accessible outside of class, so i give her that much. She talks about random things and cares so much about sorority life that she questions you on it when you start the class. She is so bias and the class was tough. Do not reccommend
Professor Worsham is great. She assigns a lot of SmartBooks, but they're not difficult. Her exams are 50 questions all multiple choice, and you can exempt the final if you like your grade after the 4th exam. She tries to make marketing applicable to nonmarketing majors. Attendance is given by participation questions that are 2 points extra credit.
Professor Worsham is actually my favorite professor to ever exist. She always looks so perfect and presentable for class and she is super funny and personable. Overall a very smart and boss woman! This course is pretty information heavy, but it's mostly definitions and stuff and if you take notes and attend class and study you'll be good!
She does talk a lot about frats and sororities and a lot about Italy which is boring. She is very monotone, and her lectures are boring, but it is helpful that she uploads her lectures. Listen to every detail she says outside the slides that are provided. MKTG 350 isn't hard, but she can make her lectures very boring. I fell asleep several times.
she is so sweet definitely recommend taking. she prepares you well for her exams and the only homework are smartbooks. She does in class questions for extra credit and the material is really easy. you can tell she loves her job and she makes lectures relatable and funny
She is a good professor! Only homework is really the smart books which can be time consuming but honestly I knocked them all out in a few days. She does questions in class for extra credit but going to the lectures are helpful for the tests. The tests can be a little difficult but if you study and work at it you'll be fine. She's the best one
Professor Worsham seems to know a lot about marketing and often discusses real world examples that relate to the topics we cover in class. Homework is done on McGraw Hill Connect. There are four exams in total, not including the optional final, and four mandatory research credits. Overall, it's an informative class with a fun professor.
Ms. Worsham does her best with the large lecture hall format and keeps the material somewhat interesting. The grading system is so forgiving it's practically impossible to fail the class if you turn everything in.
She was an ok professor. We had our final presentation day a week (7 days) before I'm writing this and we are still missing our final grades. Exams were challenging so I reccomend going to class because she gives hints for the short answer. The fieldtrips were cool.
Mrs. Worsham is super caring about her students. You get extra credit points for coming to class and answering mid-lecture iClicker questions. Exams and lectures are straight from the textbook/smartbook and easy to pass. She holds helpful exam reviews and is very accessible outside of class. Not the easiest class ever, but very doable
She is a great teacher and is very helpful for the subject, but the class is just so boring. It is honestly difficult to go every week, but the material is super easy.
She is so nice, she makes a study guide before every exam and is extremely passionate about marketing. I took this class only because she taught it.
I honestly don't recommend this teacher. The lecturers are really boring, kinda drown out most of it. She does gives us study guides. Makes you have a mirror so she knows you are not cheating. Wouldn't allows us to have scratch paper for math. Eventhough its easy math. Some people are visual learners.
Easy class. Good lectures, but the class is so easy you don't need to go; gives extra credit (up to 2%) for answering poll questions in class (similar to I-clicker). Learned all material night before exams and always got A's. Overall made a huge lecture hall accessible and easy. Not sure what the bad reviews expect; she's easy as it comes.
Professor Worsham is great, this class however was a hot mess. Due dates and schedules were constantly changed. No class time to work on the project. The project itself is very daunting and there is no rubric for anything. I have turned in 3 project parts, none are graded. Other assignments haven't been graded. No idea what my final grade is.
Sweetest professor ever, she really cares for her students and prepares them to be successful. Gives extra credit for going to class and answering poll questions. She gives 4 tests, not including the final which is optional. Overall, I would recommend taking her.
I wanna start off by saying she's very kind and genuinely wants to help her students. However there are lots of Smartbook assignments and it's time consuming especially when studying for her tests as well, which aren't easy. But she loves what she does and I do think she's an excellent professor despite the difficulty of the class.
She is hard to follow in lectures because she can go off on tangents. Still a pretty enjoyable lecturer. Her tests are harder than they seem. They are application-based and made to trick you, even though she says they aren't. Study more than you think you need to. Tests make up most of your grade and she doesn't give extra credit.
Prof. Worsham is passionate about her teachings, but I didn't have the best experience with her. I respectfully emailed her with questions about the exam and she responded very rudely and passive aggressively. Class is very test heavy and be prepared to spend around $100 on homework software, despite hw not being very weighted.Take someone else.
My first C at USC. Very hard test, tons of smartbooks, research credits, and 3 hw assignments. Optional final. Test are just way more difficult than they seem. Between textbook and software I had to spend $100 on her class alone which is a lot for a lower level mktg class. She gives extra credit but honestly it isn't enough to move the grade
Responses saying this class was hard are people who don't try and shouldn't be in college. I stopped showing up for class after 3 weeks; spent 2 hours the day before exams to learn the material from the entire unit and got 98's on the exams. Lots of questions were definitions. Up to 3% EC (attendance) and optional final. Nice professor, easy class.
PLS TAKE SOMEONE ELSE! She never responds to emails, which obviously makes her super hard to connect with, as it is an online course. Her exams are so lengthy and honestly pretty hard. She makes you use a mirror to show that your keyboard doesn't have anything on it during exams. She won't let you make work up either. Just take someone else.
Professor Worsham is kind but she is more concerned about students cheating then actually learning. She only talks about Italy and greek life. She is so concerned and worked up about students cheating, it makes exams and quizzes so much harder.
She is an awesome professor, super engaging, and knows a lot about marketing. Study hard for the first 4 exams because the final is optional but cumulative. 20 smart book assignments and 3 homework assignments. If you show up to class and answer all the poll questions correctly you can get 2 points extra credit. Better than the other mktg professor
A lot of people rave about Worsham. She's definitely the best MKTG 350 Professor, but the class still isn't great. She lectures the entire class and posts polls mid class for extra credit. Study the smart books over and over and over before the exams and you'll get an A. She also drops the lowest exam grade if you opt to take a cumulative final.
Instead of her having lectures to teach me she was teaching AT me. It was hard in class to grasp what she was talking about, so I would have to teach myself the work after class. Her tests would have trick questions, and were typically 50 questions. Her smartbook assignments are long and it is basically doing 100-200 questions per week.
Tests were difficult. Study the smartbooks and use Sharpen. If you do the smartbooks and homeworks, you will be fine. I got 75-80 on all the exams and ended with a high B because of it. Definitely put in the work and you get the grade you deserve.
Worsham was pretty monotone and talked about her Italy course a lot. Her online test rules were extreme, with having a mirror to show everything, and you couldn't even quietly read the question without it being called cheating. She was considering having a recording from a phone behind you. It made exams feel more stressful than they needed to be.
I took this class because of Professor Worsham, and she is a great instructor. The class included three exams, some field trips, and a final project. The organization of the course could have been clearer, particularly with schedules and project expectations, but overall, the experience was positive. I would still recommend taking a class with her.
It is December 21st and I still do not know my grade in the class. You will have no idea where you stand with your grade because things never get graded on time. Frustrating class not because of the material but because of how disorganized it is. Wonderful women, but stay away if you want to protect your peace.
I really did not like this class and maybe that's becuase I took it online. Either way, the lectures were dreadful to sit through because of how many slides they were and beucase I would get so lost in the professors tangent topics. Tests were example based, like on brands that I have no idea about and seemd like they wanted to trick you.
