This guy is such a fun teacher. It's like he's doing stand-up comedy while he teaches psych, which helps you learn. There are 4 tests and an essay, plus you have to participate in experiments, which is cool but time consuming. Use flashcards!

Very nice, funny teacher! He's very smart but explains things in a way anyone can understand. His lectures keep you interested. Just study for his exams (dont wait until the last min) and you'll do fine. Theres about 4 all semester.

As long as you show up to lectures and study our vocab you will be able to pass the class with a grade of a "B". Prof. Bowman is the reason why I changed my major from Computer Science to Psychology. I had such a great time in his class and his enthusiasm for Psychology is contagious. Four years later, I'm close to graduating with my degree in Psychology. All thanks to this man. You'll never be bored.

2 midterms, 1 final, and a 5-7 page paper, all equally weighted. The paper isn't hard but go to lecture because he asks questions on the tests that are not in the book. He is very animated which makes lecture entertaining though most of the psychologists we studied didn't seem to be playing with a full deck of cards. Easy "B".

Really good professor. Very entertaining in such a way that helps you understand and remember the material. Tests are easy, 40 Q's multiple choice. If you were in class and paid attention or read the book, you'll get at lesat a decent grade if not a good one. One paper, 3 hrs of experiements. Sounds liek a lot but its not. the paper is easy.

MY FAVORITE!! He has the greatest sense of humor and makes you want to go to his class,b/c you do need to go to class b/c most of the questions on the test are straight from the notes. Bowman is so awesome! He's a cute little old man with a great sense of humor! He is very clear in his lectures. Gives good examples to help you understand. I'm an Undeclared major, but after taking his class, now I am more interested in wanting to major in Psych. I highly recommend taking his class!

Took class online...Liked the paper - it helped clarify theories and helped me to pick my favorite. But the tests are pretty hard (I averaged B's on them)...expecting a B in the class with a minimum of effort...Don't take online unless you can pace out the work and actually read the chapters..

It was my third time taking psych 101 and this was the funniest and easiest professor. He made me interested in the subject and that motivated me to study and read my textbook unlike the previous two times. We have one essay which is rally easy, just mention a lot of psych terms in the paper and you will get an A+ on essay.

This was my first semester at college and this professor definitely calmed my nerves. He made the subject very easy to understand, he gave very clear examples and spent enough (if not more) time on each subject. One paper (with a first draft) and a few exams (3 or 4). I used an older version of the textbook and only used it to study for tests.

Take him! His lectures and jokes are so cheesy that its funny. He makes an otherwise extremely dry subject barrible with his funny examples. Tests are mainly from lecture but some from the text. One really easy 2 page paper. I turned mine in late and he didn't even mark me down for it.

I highly recommend him. He's very quirky and funny. Wears the EXACT same shirt in different colors for every class. Interesting topic. Fun humor. Tests you will absolutely need to study for. Coming to class is not at all mandatory, but his exams come straight from lecture, and maybe 20% from the book.

Cute/funny prof and easy class! Grades based on 2 simple essays, and 3 exams. His lectures are very well organized and he will answer any questions you have. Your grades all come a paper, and five exams including the finals. Don't forget to do the experiments, they're super easy. If for some reason you can't, you can always write the research papers.

This is my second time taking psychology and his class is way more interesting than the last time I took. Dr. Bowman is one of the best professors in the school. He is very clear with his lecture, and he explains the concepts of the book in its simplest form as possible. He is very entertaining (Salient), and outspoken. He is also very helpful in office hours if you need help. However, you NEED to take a lot of notes and read the text book accurately.

His lectures are very interesting- I felt like I was just listening to stories. Great sense of humor. His lectures sound easy, but you really do have to read the textbook for his exams- they were pretty tough even though there were multiple choice problems (and one short writing section). This class was extremely difficult! He has a great lecturing style which makes it easier for students to be engaged in the subject. However, the tests are some of the hardest I have ever taken! Be prepared to study to no end for this course. Lowest grade I have received in college.

I cannot recommend Bowman enough. I may have a bit of a bias because I love psychology already, but he makes learning psychology a blast. He's funny, very clear and descriptive, very visual, and a great speaker.

4 exams, 1 paper, and Final. You must attend lecture and read the book to get an A which isn't bad because he is hilarious in class. My only complaint is any time he TRIES to use "science" he is completely inaccurate and can be down right insulting especially when he tries to explain medical conditions.

I've taken a psychology course so I'm a bit different from the majority. He presented new ideas with each topic that i already knew and the tests were not all that much more difficult from my high school psych class. I actually looked forward to these classes even if it was a Friday. I enjoy the comedy hour and learning. Attendance wasnt mandatory.

Bowman is the best professor I had! I got a C+ overall but my fault for not studying, his lectures are basically the test if you write down the main points he lists on the board you will be guaranteed an A!( he writes down terms but explain them in lecture so no powerpoints!) Going to class is must because his lectures cover the tests. There are four to five tests and one easy GE paper. His lectures are really entertaining to the point of actually wanting to go to class. Professor was crystal clear. I attended every class but didn't even open the book. i Did pass with a C but his lectures are understandable he wrote the main topics on a white board and explained them. it was an easy class. If i would have done more effort than just to attend i would have gotten a better grade. Exams were basically his lectures

Bowman is by far the best professor I have ever taken at CSUF. Not only is this class beyond easy to pass, he makes each and every class interesting and fun! Do not skip class! 90% of test material comes from what he lectures! Simply take good notes and you'll pass the class with flying colors!

MUST TAKE!!! If you can show up to class & write down notes you're sure to excel. Didn't even open the book and received A's on all exams. Lectures are VERY interesting & hilarious (you won't want to miss them) lectures cover 99% of the questions asked on exams so attendance is crucial.

This is the hardest class I have taken, which sucks because I was looking forward in having him. It's not that he teaches poorly or anything it's his tests! They are so detailed and tricky! Learning definitions is definitely not enough when studying for his exams. Good luck.

Everything is clear and concise with Dr. Bowman, and he is HILARIOUS. He gives great and memorable examples for concepts in his lectures, so take good notes! Again, HILARIOUS.

He's a really funny guy and reading ratemyprofessor made me think he'd be an easier professor to take as long as I went to class and took notes. He has little to no information for you on Titanium and his notes on the board are very unorganized (no powerpoints! Took him for I/O Psychology, and it really helped me decide that that's the branch of psych I'm going to take. Class grade was based on 3 exams and a semester long group project. Lectures had lots of information, but he's hilarious and makes it go fast. Need both notes and textbook for exams. Received a C but I still really enjoyed the class.

One 2 page paper about two theorists of your choice that he grades and gives back so you can revise and get full credit on. Dr. Bowman was such an incredible professor to have for this class. His notes are all in class (does not post any online) so you have to show up to pass the class. His exams consist of both the lectures and the book so you must read and take good in class notes to pass. He makes everything really easy to understand though. I would highly recommend!

He is an adorable older guy who is hilarious (to the point of tears). Very passionate about the topic and gives very informative lectures and only one paper with two drafts. The tests are tough, so lecture review and reading of textbook is a must. The bad side is that there aren't many opportunities to get points in class. He is accommodating.

I took Prof Bowman's class last semester, while I am usually an A student, this class made me work for it! (Probably because I had viral meningitis and my health was trash BUT) definitely attend lecture and read the chapters. As long as you do that, you should do great in the class.

Professor Bowman really cares about the subject manner that he teaches, and he wants his students to walk away having learned something from him. He truly cares for his students. That being said, his tests are heavy on in class notes. If you want a good grade go to class, take excellent notes, and put them on flashcards. Use the book as a refrence.

Professor Bowman's lectures are always so much fun and interesting. There are a total of 5 tests, one paper, and psychology studies that are a part of your grade. I feel I could have done better in this class if I were to have really paid attention to all the details in his lectures and read the book multiple times before an exam.

I failed the class sadly, yet was confused on how my grade went down to a complete F. I attended every class and received As on the required essays, but for some reason I could not get a grip on passing the 4 exams for that semester. It was hard to study because his lectures are on a WHITE BOARD. He doesn't use titanium and doest not post lectures!

Prof Boman is understanding and accommodating of his students. The course has 2 lectures posted every week and 3 exams- multiple choice and 3 prompt questions. Pretty simple course, super funny, and a great guy. One of the best professors I've had.
