Mr. Davis is a good teacher. His notes on the board are a bit scattered, but if you can take your own notes and read the book, you will get a good grade. He is down to earth.

Note taking in this class is hard. Mr. Davis lessons are scattered and unorganized. The class was okay in itself, you do learn some interesting things. It is difficult to do well if you relie on your notes from class, its better to just read the book

Kind of annoying. Says "...right?" after every sentence. I counted 35 times in a 45 minute class period. He makes it sound as if the tests are going to be really easy and then grades hard. Hes a nice guy, but I'm not sure if I would recommen

Great teacher. I never took notes. I did skim the chapters before tests. He has a great personality and if you pay attention in class you will get an "A". All these other people who gave him a poor revue, are most likly dumb asses.

Craig is a fun professor. He's excited about the material he covers and passes that on to students. He's great about getting everyone involved in class discussions. He seems truly interested in student's ideas and opinions. His tests are hard but fair - hey - you take the class to learn, right?

I enjoyed taking Craig's class. He is easy going and down to the point. There is a lot of opportunity to learn in the type of environment created in Craig's class room. I would take classes taught by Craig again, and I would recommend them to others.

Craig is an reservoir of infromation. He interjects some great sarcastic humor and pop culture references into his lectures, which makes an already interesting class even better. He has a tendancy to get off topic, but even his tangents have some relevance. Hell keep your email full of EC options.

Very very laid back teacher. Let's you turn in things late =). Test are fairly easy if you study a little bit. I winged 3 out of 4 on my test with not much studying for a B on each one. Very little easy HW. Gives you E.C for going to events for 50 min. His laid back style of teaching is a great plus

I didn't even know I signed up for this class. Walked in. The teacher looked cool so I stuck around. Over all I had a great time and learned a lot. Craig Rocks! What the heck does libelous mean? I guess I'll look it up.

Craig is my favorite prof so far. He is very straight foward with tests and quizes. The thing that makes his class great is how interested he is in it. Very knoledgable and doesnt take ne stuff from slackers. Ez tests, no quizes, great guy.

Awesome teacher. Interesting and funny, and very into having discussion. The tests ARE pretty challenging, though he prepares you well. Use the study guide, do well on the tests,show up to class, and speak up once and awhile, you'll do fine. If you like geography, you can't go wrong with Craig.

Cool dude. Pretty easy class so long as you study. You better buy the book because he knows his stuff and is an abstract teacher. I would definately take his class again. He is one of the rare "fun" and laid back teachers. His tests are not easy but if your study habits are there you should do pretty well.

Stop right here and register for Craigs class if you haven't yet. Every class is a virtual globetrot that has you looking at the world through a different lens. You'll be surprised at how cool geography can be. Teachers as good as Craig are rare. And if you plan on ever traveling, this class will benefit you.

heisinterested in what he teaches up the butt.if u sleep he sends u home.clss only offers apprx 500 points, so evrythng counts.highly recommend if u want to actually learn something. regardless of weather, he will wear random colored shirts,(purp, orange) with aqua blue shades, a random vest, and some random colored socks with sandals.cool guy tho!

His teaching method is totally the style that makes a novice feel comfortable with the subject. He is by far the best professor in the Geog department. No contest. My first thought on the first day of class was "sweet! A young professor! This is gonna be easy!" Turns out it was not "easy", although Craig does make getting a good grade very obtainable. Craig challenges students on a daily basis to think critically. The class was never "easy" per se, but the work was enjoyable, so it didn't really matter!

Personally, I am not a big fan of Davis. He got sidetracked, rambled, and really didn't convey the info well. However, he does care about his class and is enthusiastic and pretty lax.

If you want to know cultural Geography of Sacramento and California it is your class. Most of the time pretty borring and tests are right out of the book. Not a big fan either.

He's really funny, but doesn't try to force the class to really engage. If you want to learn a lot or further your understanding you have to seek Craig out and challenge yourself during the projects. His humor is like a breath of fresh air, and he's never condescending.

Professor Davis has a GREAT sense of humor--he keeps people awake and is always cracking jokes. However, he doesn't do as much with the class as he could--it could be MUCH more interesting and he could cover a lot more ground if he was more concise and focused. I don't feel like I learned very much aside from the importance of "space."

Craig is great, passionate and inspiring and willing to help you outside of class. I remember always leaving class full of thoughts and ideas, surprised we had already used the entire period, and wishing we had time to continue exploring the content. Get interested in spatial dynamics (as they apply to society/culture) and take this course!

Craig is a very very funny guy! But, don't be fooled his tests are not as easy as you would expect them to be! Read the emails he sends you! They are on the test. Study the map assignments also. He gives you extra credit opportunities, take advantage of them. Also, spend time on the semester project and start it early!

Davis is a good teacher, he is pretty funny and outgoing with his lectures. He offers many extra credit assignments, and they are worth a lot of points. The ONLY hard part of his class are the tests. So study really hard for his test and you should be okay. I would recommend taking his class.

Craig is a good teacher. Intelegent. Don't neglect his extra credit opportunitiees. Extra credits are not hard and they will help to keep your grade up because his tests are more diificult than I expected, anyway good chances to get B for this class. He usually send students many e-mails. Read them they are always related to class

I have trouble following Professor Davis because he doesn't stay on topic. Tangental and non-specific describe his lectures. I studied from the book and passed the tests, and did lots of extra credit to pass. I wouldn't take him again.

He and Gene Sellers are the best instructors SCC has ever seen. Provides extra credit. Maintains class humor & interest while focusing on topic. I detest math and science but after taking Craig I am considering Geog as a Minor; if not Major! Do not sleep in his class! Do not come more than 15 minutes late! Do not miss more than 3 lecture days!

Davis is a good professor. If you are immature and talk to your friends in class he will not tolerate it. Make sure you do all the reading including the emails because he tests on all of it. If you are too immature to pay attention in class then he is not the professor for you, but if you are not an idiot then this class is for definitely for you.

One word to sum up Craig is patronizing or cocky. These words are a little harsh (sorry) but it's kind of true. He talks about the work like you should know it already. He has a hard time staying on subject. I had a hard time following taking notes. Found myself just staying home and studying the book, still passed the class with a high grade.

One of the best the professors that I had at Sac City. His lectures are fun and insightful. You would be a fool not to take his class. The class itself can be difficult at times, but if you read the text and show up for class you shouldn't have a problem. And if he ever talks about how good the KU basketball team is, remind about the VCU game, Lol.

You must pay attention because some of the information relayed in the lectures are definitely on the test and not from the book. He seems like a hard ass at first but thats only to weed out the students who are not there to really learn. I highly recommend this professor as he passes on some great information and life experiences!

Very genuine, true professor. I enjoyed his classes thoroughly and would recommend him to any student wanting to learn. Those who are looking for an easy way out, don't go to college. Never did understand those comments complaining something is too hard. His tests are systematic and set up for you to succeed - just do the work needed.

This Professor is pretty funny and laid back. His Geog 300 class was fairly easy; he provides study guides before each test so as long as you follow it you'll do fine. The project kinda sucks but he gives a couple of options to choose from. Overall I'd recommend this Professor.

(This review is solely for Geog390). Craig is my favorite professor at SCC. He's down-to-earth, friendly, easy-going, and yet wants you to do your best. He's very communicative. He will work with you to make sure you are getting the help you need. He has an awesome sense of humor and is flexible. If you get a chance definitely take his classes!

Very energetic and excited about the material. Very engaging and approachable. Don't let his laid back style fool you. Readings, assignments, and tests are moderately difficult (older edition of text book = ok). Be prepared to learn some basic science concepts.

I took this class as a requirement for my major and did not really have a lot of interest in it. Prof. Davis proves himself to be one of the best profs I've had. Tests are easy if you study, a TON of extra credit opportunities, he's super understanding about the challenges of being a college student, and keeps things pretty light. Just don't be late! I would definitely take him again.

I took his geography of human and cultural landscapes. Let me start off by saying he is a great guy, and surprisingly smart, he comes across like a total stoner though. His classes have no structure what so ever, you could be talk about absolutely nothing for 4 weeks straight then have a test on geographical terms/principles, good luck lol

Prof. Davis is great. If you show up and are engaged, he will work with you and help you succeed. If you miss a ton of classes and show up asking for help, he is straight with you and tells you to step it up. If you behave like an adult, you will love Craig Davis. If he feels like he is babysitting you, you will be treated as such.

A great professor but he goes off on a lot of tangents and gets distracted easily so the lectures can feel like forever. However he is extremely smart and he is a funny guy. Tests aren't too tough and there is extra credit. You also must attend two outside events such as cultural meetings. Lastly, there is one essay but it is easy.

Davis is an overall outstanding Professor. He is very smart and has a great way of talking about things. I learned so much in his class. If you show up and do all of the reading that he assigns, which by the way isn't much then you will do well in his class. I have had lots of personal issue this semester and i am still passing his class.

Probably the funniest professor at SCC. You don't even have to go to class most of the time. When you go to class, all he does is make jokes while looking at maps. Gives no homework. Has one reading assignment but it's easy. His tests are okay though.

He is a very chill professor, gets off track 99.9% of the time, discusses material that has absolutely NOTHING to do with the class, yet his test are TOUGH. If you are excellent at teaching yourself, go for it! Otherwise, choose a professor that actually teaches the material that will be on the test. Good Luck!

Professor Davis is a great geography instructor. His lectures are pretty clear and consistent with the syllabus, tests are very straightforward with the syllabus too. He is always ready to help you for anything geography-related. Pretty relaxed, cultured.

if you are a geog major, this is the man to take your courses with. tooken most of his classes, one of the best professors I've had at city college. most people complain about his tests being hard, but honestly like any other class, you need to study and be ready. if you study, and study before the exams, you'll ace them.

I'm not really a big fan of Geography but he made it interesting. He is so funny and his first test is pretty hard especially if you are not familiar with the basics. I suggest everyone to get the book and read it ! most of the concepts are in great detail. Also make sure to read his emails that is going to be part of the first test.

I don't understand why he's rated so highly, he's the rudest prof I've ever had. He literally tells us that he hates our class (not sarcastically) and that his other class is infinitely better. All we do is sit around and play with google earth. The average on the first test was a D and he was mystified somehow even though he doesn't lecture at all

His exams are difficult, you NEED to read the book because in class he does not lecture everything that will be on the exams. In class he lectures but doesn't make it clear enough to where all the students understand. His exams are part multiple choice and part written where you need to understand and be able to apply concepts of geography.

His best classes are those that involve his passion-cultural geography. Stay up-to-date with current events & relate them to your weekly homework. Expect a few exams & a final project. This professor is absolutely awesome. Legit, he is so funny, so interesting, and really open to helping his students do well. Super accessible over email, and really fair in his grading. Be prepared to read, though, as the textbook for the course I took covered a lot of material. I highly recommend this professor.

Craig is an all around fun Professor. He is really into his lectures and is always funny, i can bet you will always be laughing at some of the things he says. He can get a little bit off topic but he will make up for it. Test are easy, just remember most places on maps and read the articles he sends you, he will ask for a summary on tests.

Very easy to approach, eager to help, but if you cheat you are finished. I knew a girl who cheated on her paper and he gave her an F. She could've been in UCLA today. Word,put in the time, easy A

If you want to actually learn in class, don't take him. He is disorganized with his lectures and often goes off topic a lot. You'll end up self-teaching at home and his exams are based on the book.

Prof. Davis is funny and has a great sense of humor, but you won't really learn a lot in his class. Lectures can be confusing and your notes won't help all that much on the tests. Tests are a wild card because you don't really know what they're going to be on.

He can be funny at time but concept wise I didn't learn much. The notes you take in class are almost useless for the tests because it is basically hit or miss. Sometimes it might be on the test. Other times you're on your own. I wouldn't recommend him if you wanna learn.

I love Craig! He's the best geography teacher at SCC! Would and have recommended him to many people. All of his classes are easy A's, make sure to study the guides. He doesn't throw curve balls so you're bound to get an A unless you're umm.... He makes lecture fun, entertaining, and easy to digest. He can be scattered at times, kumbaya.

Professor Davis is a cool and funny guy. Class was an easy A. He hilariously puts people on the spot when they're late and if it's done multiple times he tells them to beat it. Really chill class, fun, and engaging. Can get a bit dry but Prof. Davis is pretty good at making geog easy to understand/tolerate. He is understanding 100% recommend.

He'll give you exam reviews with everything that you need to know, if you study and read the chapters you'll do well. He's pretty chill just don't cheat or be late because he'll call you out. The map labelling was a bit hard for me so I'd suggest spending extra time remembering precisely where things are. There's also extra credit.

Craig is a really cool dude and his lectures are fun. I learned a lot more about really specific things than general concepts of geography. That was nice. You will get lots of info in lectures, but not a lot of it will be on tests. The real work is reading. I'll be honest, I didn't get the book, but I passed. I'd recommend it for a better grade.

Craig is very personable. Lectures are not one sided at all, if your class is quiet and doesn't answer any of his questions then he gets peeved. Makes the class go by quickly, always switching around tabs on his browser to look up whatever weird things he just remembered. If you like participating in class then you'll have a good time.

Excellent Professor. His lectures are all over the place, but it keeps them interesting and enjoyable. He is always able to connect it back to what you are learning about that day and it makes the lessons more relateable. Lots of negative comments because he actually expects you to read and study a bit on your own but study guides are provided.

Professor Davis is hilarious! I want to take another class from him. I really enjoyed learning about the Earth and the way it works. He makes the material easy to understand. There are only a few tests so make sure you study hard for them - they make or break your grade!

Half the test is multiple choice and the other half is short answer, drawing, and identifying certain things. Everything related to the book. Hates when people are late even by 5 minutes. Professor Davis does a good job accumulating a lot of resources for students to access, the text book is also free and pretty good and straightforward with some cool fun facts as well! Prof. Davis was the only professor I had this semester that got me interested in his subject. I wanted to get the work done and move forward but ended up learning from him. Very good professor, not sure why his ranking is so low but he does a great job. Very cool guy, very good class, highly recommended.

This class is pretty interesting and you're definitley going to learn something new. It isn't boring. The quizzes are a little tough, but discussions are easy. The tests are worth the majority of the grade. He doesn't accept late work / doesn't open modules early. I wouldn't say this class is hard you just have to try a little bit to get an A.

If you're a Geography major or are remotely interested in GIS and other geospatial technologies, this class is a must take! There's a midterm and final exam and one final project, along with small labs almost every week to get you accustomed to using GIS especially. As an intro class, Craig just does a great job getting you the information you need

He was an interesting professor. I learned from him even when he was off-topic. You have to read the book, usually one chapter per week, or else you won't understand the lectures. But the lectures are great a supplement. My tip is that I always requested him to post test review sheet in the beginning and would use it to outline the book.

Took this professor thinking he would be a cool and respectable dude. He was extremely rude towards those who were late, absent, or asked him for help. If you were 1 minute late he would send you right out, did not want to listen, and showed little concern. This teacher was on a power trip and had little regard for his students.

This prof gave me zero's on multiple assignments because he suspected the answers from google (they were not). Exams are very specific and study guides weren't helpful for me. This was a general education requirement class which I think angered him. He gave me a zero on a video assignment that I spent two hours on claiming that "I clearly did not watch the video" and btw I had facts on my paper that was clearly derived from watching the entirety of the video in order to write my assignment. Gets off on your failure

If I did not need this class to graduate I would have dropped first day. If you don't have to take him DON'T he'll make you hate even walking into his class. I have A's in all of my classes, expect for this class. Professor Davis isn't good at giving lectures, he uses slides, and begs students to take notes, but he rushes through the slides and skims over lectures. The exams are very specific, but the study guides he offers don't help at all. He's also loud and at times disrespectful to students.
