Hard teacher, but you will learn alot. Make sure to do all the readings and to follow correct format for Essays. He grades hard. Kind of unorganized, but keeps you interested none the less.
He's a good teacher, who has a strong passion for literature. His class is not a walk in the park, but as long as you do the reading and follow the proper essay formats, you'll get a promising grade.
I took his class ages ago... it was pretty easy, but interesting as well. He's gorgeous. hahaha.
He is a very easy going teacher, and very easy class. He will give so many chances if you missed and he knows that you are a very smart student. Don't take advantage of his kindness because he will turn and be an @sole. Very cute and cool teacher. Take his class will not regret going.
Girls, take this class, he is so cute!, he is a bartender in downtown, driving a motorcycle, and reading you poetry!!! His classes are very interesting, you have to read, but with him in the classroom...who cares???
He really enjoys what he's doing and makes the class very interesting. His class wasn't easy and he really makes you work. And girls, this guy is HOT!!! I know that he bartends in downtown, but anyone know where?
he leaves so much homework and there is a quiz everytime you go to class if you are looking for a kick back class forget about taking him he will make you work!!!!
He gives WAYYY too much homework and on top of that, he gives the class a quiz at almost every meeting. There are much easier English teachers at SWC, take them instead.
Great instructor. he is young so he understands us better! He assigns many essays for this class. better be prepared because they are due every week! Gives clear instructions and he is an easy going guy. Make sure you laugh at his jokes, he gets kinda butt-hurt of you don't!
ALOT OF WRITING,BUT EASY TO LEARN FROM AND IT IS A FUN CLASS. NOT A CLASS FOR THE LAZY. EASY GRADER AND VERY MOTIVATING. BEST ENGLISH TEACHER!
THE BEST!
Class is highly captivating-an in-depth critique of all aspects of literature, an enlightening study of critical thinking. Teacher is an amazing in depth indivual full of passion and humour-a muse. On a side note, I hope whatever we call God brings a man such as he into my life-"a man that knows his own heart, a knight without armour, with duality
Easy going teacher who is willing to help out as much as he can. Assigns a lot of homework though. A quiz on every class time. Has a sense of humor. Highly recommend everyone to take him.
Craig is an awesome guy. He does give lots of work, but it is college. If you are lazy, dont bother with his class. If you want to learn, then this is the class for you. Great teacher
HARD CLASS! EXPECTS TOO MUCH! DAILY QUIZES AND TOO MUCH READING. DON'T TAKE HIM! EASIER TEACERS
No Comments
way too much work this guy is crazy- take ms.feilds
Dont take him. he is really hard. expects too much from students. Lots of essays and readings. Final is an exam as well as a 10 page paper. do not recommend!!
IT WAS AN EASY B,MOST PEOPLE GOT B'S & SOME A'S,BUT THE LAZY FEW WHO DIDNT WRITE OR SHOW UP ATE THEIR GRADE. ONLY 3 ESSAY'S AND EASY FINAL.
He was easy and made it fun, young guy. Mostly discussion quizes, read some good stories. I got an A and learned. one research paper for this class. the rest a breeze! best english class ive had.
LOVED IT! easy A Too!
THE BEST ENGLISH PROFESSOR AT S.W.C. DAN'S OPINION ANYHOW
I don't recommend this teacher; he acts like sergeant, and talks like machine gun; he needs to change the way of teaching...if you want a brakedown, take it.
THERE IS ALWAYS ONE STUDENT PER CLASS WHO HAS ISSUES,OTHERWISE AN EASY B AND SLIGHT EFFORT FOR AN A. EVERYONE ENJOYS HIS STYLE AND HUMOR. GREAT CLASS!
I took him for a short time but he was a nice guy he trys to teach you step by step to make you successful. He is a bit hard on grading and there is a quiz everyday but if you do your work and pay attention you'll do good.
HE IS AN EASY B GRADE, BUT A LITTLE MORE EFFORT FOR AN A GRADE. LOVED HIS CLASS,STYLE, AND HUMOR. LEARNED THE MOST OF ANY CLASS, AND IT WAS HALF FUN. THE BEST ENGLISH PROF U CAN HAVE!!
i know ts an english class but he gives out so much work and there is a test every day, if you want alot of work take him
About the class...very easy. A lot of work, but its all easy so it evens itself out. About the teacher... he wears sandals everyday... 'nuff said. Oh yeah, one more thing... you're jokes aren't funny and you pointing out that fact doesn't change it.
ooo my god he gives out so much homework...its crasy then you have a test everyday i know it college but gosh gives us a break.....hes a cool guy but lots of work
HE GIVES AN EASY 5 QUESTION QUIZ(NOT TEST) ON THE PREVIOUS NIGHT'S READING. HE IS AN EASY B GRADE, AND GIVES EXCELLENT LECTURES WITH SOME HUMOR- I TOOK HIM TWICE.
I LOOOOVED IT! Dolce is AMAZING! He does assign a lot of reading and theres a quiz everyday, but he makes up for it. Very humerous and really hot!! I got an A without even trying that hard. TAKE HIM. Best English prof. everrr!
Craig is an excellent english teacher. He is easy to approach and understand. You have to read to do well in the class because all of the quizzes are based on the text(s). Oh yea, try to participate because he will be annoyed if you don't.
It is not an easy A and definitely a hard working class. This class is definitely not for the lazy type. As long as the reading is done on time, the essays are done the way he wants them, everything should be fine.
wears the same clothes everysingle class. kinda funny and interesting to listen to. assigned a lot of reading everyday, quizzes on reading every day. 4 papers throughout semester, plus one 7page research paper. cumalitive final over all literature from semester-all essay. he allows to redo papers and turn in by end of semester for better grade
Super chill professor! Unbelievably understanding! Works with you one on one. Makes sure EVERYONE is on the same page. Way laid back... makes his class a very comfortable learning enviornment. Doesn't make every situation "student-teacher" he makes you feel equal. He learns just as much from his students as his students do from him. AWSOME class. H
Easy going, humorous, quizzes every class graded very leniently, easy 5 points just have to do the reading, lenient on late essays. Easy A just do the work.
Highly recommend taking Craig?s class. He does a great job making the time pass by quickly. Just keep up with the reading and as always go to class. Do this and you?ll be fine. Quizzes are straight out of the assigned reading, very easy to get an A.
I love craig! He is a great teacher. As long as you do the reading and the work, he is awesome. Tells you what he will grade you on. Great teacher
Craig is amazing!!! He makes this class interesting, makes you think and what could be very boring becomes a very engaging experience. Yes, you have to do the work, but common! This is college, not a highschool! Craid is super nice, super fun!!!!! and you'll learn stuff u need to know having fun doing it! Take him!!!!!!!!!
Craig has been the BEST english teacher i have ever had. i took his english 115 and 116, hes AWESOME. You could stop looking for another english teacher already cause THIS is the teacher you got to have. You definitely wont regret it, i promise.
If you plan on taking English Lit at SWC, I highly recommend Craig Dolce. The textbooks for his class are easy to read and he reviews the homework assignments with you in class. He genuinely cares for his students and is flexible with turning in late assignments. I have a new found appreciation for Shakespeare because of him. Wonderful teacher!
Craig is an amazing professor. He is very flexible and understanding with homework. I took his summer class and had lots of homework and readings. His lectures are interesting and he creates a participating atmosphere.
Professor Dolce is clear with his assignments and is able to keep the material entertaining. I took him over the summer and although the class was 3 hours he was able to keep the attention of the students. He's a very witty man and easy to get along with.
DEFINITELY take Craig. He's useful and clear with his assignments. He always helps when asked. Theres plenty of work like readings, PWYLS, and essays due every week but don't hesitate to inquire. He won't shun you or anything. Missing a couple days is okay but skipping class often will seriously affect your grade.
Very good english twacher!!!!made class fun and everything was understandable..recommend taking his class if you guys like reading..,his really easy and chill person
Very cool guy. He really made it easy to pass this class, especially when he extended the due dates for important assignments that meant a lot to your grade. I knew he knew music when he said vinyl is the best. There is one thing though, he really can talk and really goes deep into his stories.
like everyones saying... there's a lot of work but this is 116-- its not supposed to be a breeze! hes helpful and approachable. do the work, read the required texts. fall in love with shakespeare = A. he reads this site[: and loves sports! by the end of the semester youll be crushing on him! for suure!
THIS TEACHER IS AWESOME...I HAD HIM FOR SUMMER FAST TRACK AND HE WAS THE BEST...HE BASICALLY GIVES U THE FINAL SO THERE ISNT ANY SUPRISES...AND HE LOOOOVVEESSSS SHAKESPERE SO IF U DONT LIKE IT NOW BY THE END OF THE SEMESTER YOU'LL LOVE IT...LIKE I SAID THERE ARE NO SUPRISES IN HIS CLASS AND HIS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP U JUST ASK THERE IS NO REASON T
ALLO GOOD!! THANK YOU!!
Great Professor. Definitely take his class. Do your work, keep up with the reading, and pay attention in class. you'll get a good grade for sure!
Dolce is an awesome teacher. He is Chill and Funny. In 114 we wrote an essay a week and if we didn't get the grade we wanted he would let us revise the essay for a better grade. He is a great teacher and I learned a lot in his class.
Mr. Dolce was one of the best teachers that I have ever had, if you follow the guidelines and do the work there is no way to no get an A, he is really clear in everything that he wants the students to do and his grading is very fair. you might even enjoy some blues or jazz during the class he likes to listen to music while teaching, very interactiv
Great instructor! you will enjoy his class and the pace of the class.
Excellent teacher. I took Craig for 115 and 116. He is definitely into Shakespeare. Actually, he's crazy about it. Keeps the class going by reading and have the class read. Take Craig.. Extremely helpful in writing assignments as well.
Craig is by far the best English teacher at SWC. It is true that he is a Shakespeare nut but he makes it fun and interesting with his informal discussions in class. He does assign a grip of readings and exercises as well as random quizzes, but they are not hard. If you keep up with all of it and do good on your essays, you will walk out with an A.
If you are lazy take some one else, don't hog a seat from some one who actually wants to learn. He is hard but very understanding and willing to teach if you are willing to do the work and learn. His conversations about the shakespear plays allowed me to understand shakespear language and acutually want to read the assigned readings.
take his class. you will learn alot. he is understanding, fun, but don' get fooled. if you slack off you will get behind. be organized and its overwhelming at first but talk to him and he will help you out.easy grader but he is strict on MLA format.
I really enjoyed his class he has a fun way of teaching criical thinking. He really cares about our learning. i took him for eng 116 but i which i coukd have taken him for all my eng classes. I really recomend him. My best eng teacher yet, and very funny.
He was my teacher for two consecutive classes and is very helpful and makes the whole English class a very entertaining experience. I learned to enjoy poetry and especially Shakespeare.
Defiantly one of the top professors at SWC. If you're lazy look elsewhere as Craig can be pretty tough when it comes to the little things (i.e punctuation, citations), but at the same time makes the class interesting through the Shakespeare plays and his personal anecdotes. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in his class.
He is the best English teacher at SWC! Very helpful and encouraging. He is picky when it comes to citations and will basically start your last paper at a C if your Works Cited page is incorrect. Had weekly assignments, 4 essays, and read three of Shakespear's plays. He's a great "Coach" :) TAKE HIM!
He is a great professor. Not the easiest but definetely one of the best. His essays are interesting and he'll guide you through them. You write about 5 of them during the semester. In class you read three Shakespeare plays and take many pop quizzes. He gives you the list of terms and Shakespeare quotes he will use for the final ahead of time.
I have taken both his 115 and 116 courses. He's extremely straight forward with what he expects from students. Fellow English nerds will greatly apreciate his class.
Great teacher! After an 8 week summer intensive, I was ready for my journalism core classes at City that fall! The three papers over 16 weeks seemed a breeze!
This is one of the best professors I have ever had. He's straight to the point with what he expects from his students and is very understanding. However, it's mandatory that you show up for class and make sure your essays are well written and edited because he will notice everything. I will be taking his 205 English class next semester. Take him!
Very well rounded guy, he is respectful to diversity and helped me a lot with my essays. Most teachers do not give you second or third chances but he wanted his students to pass. He has a lot of passion for his work and discusses material (Shakespeare) in a clear way. I had always something to say about my religious views but he was always nice!
Great professor! Took him during the summer. There are 5 assigned essays, which are essential to complete to get a good grade. We read Shakespeare and watched the modernized version to gain a better understanding of Shakespearean literature (in the final test). He randomly gives out pop quizzes, but it's easy all one needs to do is read.
Very supportive. He does his best to drill in proper citation and essay format, and that constant repetition actually helped me a ton. I just had him this fall semester; he's laid back but knows when to drop the hammer, spark discussion, and weed out people who aren't doing the readings. Just read what's required, do the work, and you're good!
hard class with lots of reading and writing, but the professor Dolce is super helpful and straight up with you. if you don't come to class then don't pick this class. I've improved my writing and we got to read lots of Shakespeare.
No Comment, i strongly recommend do not take him if you really want to learn. usually students like easy A teachers or good reasonable teachers who can learn a lot from them. He is none of them.
Awesome teacher! shows respect to students and pushes for them to analyze even what they say to improve their thinking. Super helpful when it comes to the essays for the class. He will talk to you one on one and go over anything that needs improving. Very funny, his class was an enjoyment. Keep up with the reading though! Pop quiz and the final
He cares about students a lot and his lecture is amazing. I learned a lot! He always gives us extra time as long as we do work, and I can tell my English writing skill has improved. You have to read and be ready for quizzes almost every time, but it's easy if you do homework. Definitely best English teacher ever
He yelled at students for not talking. maybe they didn't know the answer? He got mad at us for taking notes. wanted us to look at him while he lectures and listen to him. I can take notes, watch a lecture and listen at the same time. Essay topics sucked. Wasn't no Shakespeare. I'm not paying for a class to be yelled at even though I participated.
Great professor. EASY class, just very time consuming. This is my second time around taking the class, I dropped the first because I simply didn't have the time. Very funny & makes it clear what needs to be done.
A cool dude that encourages his students to achieve an A in his class. However, students have to work for it. It's time consuming as one needs to read the daily assignments. It's not difficult. Mr. Dolce gives out quizzes after the readings to keep you in check. If a student had difficulty writing essays in Eng115, that person may struggle more
Legit instructor I felt like hiring him as my personal shrink he makes his classes relatable to the daily struggles of the students example relationships logic and even critical thinking. he refers to himself as a guy in the "man bun"
He's an amazing teacher, you will learn a lot with him and you will also start liking Shakespeare's plays. He gives a lot of work and homework which is time-consuming but really easy to do. If you read what he asks you to read, you will get an A+. Also his quizzes are easy
absolutely incredible. doesnt tell you what to think but how to think. has opinions but willing to hear others. a lot of papers but actually teaches you on how to make it so it's approachable and done right. it's should have written this a long time ago but after having so many bad teachers, this one deserves a lot of recognition. changed my life
Nice guy and helps perfect punctuation and basic format of essays. Fairly easy class, only complaint is that the emphasis on minor details about format could be tedious. Quizzes most classes, and a total of 4 essays that you get about 3 weeks to work on. Professor is very generous about time and understanding of students.
I had him for both 115 & 116, he was great for both! He teaches the material thoroughly + explains step by step what he expects in essays. Definitely a lot of work, but he is supportive & meets with you during class to go over the essays you write. There are quizzes each class on the readings, but they're easy.
You have a quiz almost everyday but he tells you what to expect on the quiz, which is only 2 questions. The books he assigns can be found on sparknotes and will help you pass the quiz without even having to read the whole book. He grades your 4 papers pretty easy and your final is just a vocab test with 44 words.
You will laugh at some point in his class. Hes funny . The quizzes really help with the final exam. Topics for the essays will be of interest. There are plenty of opportunities to reiceive extra credit.
Great professor. He is very funny and he is always wiling to help you with anything that you don't understand. Professor Dolce is always happy to assist his students after lecture. Easy Class if you dedicate time. The professor always states the following: "Is it hard? NO . It just takes time". If you dedicate time to the class its an easy A.
He is a good teacher he goes over the prompts so many times, like everyday until paper is due. There are 5 essays. He doesnt do time writings and his class can get hard because he assigns a lot of reading from different books but honestly it just teaches you how to manage your time and thats his point. Hes good I highly recommend!
This class is actually really easy, but time consuming. You'll need time to prep and write your papers. I like this class because he relates a lot of Shakespeare to real life situations and the best thing I've learned so far is: Don't use emotions to deal with your problems, instead use logic. Literally, this helped me so much in life so far.
I personally found this class to be A LOT of work. He assigns readings from shakespear books (3 books in the semester) AND essays (4 total) AND readings from 2 other little books on the daily and tbh aint nobody got time for that. (Usually teachers assign one at a time) He also yells way too much.
The BEST English professors!! He is super inspirational, funny, supportive and accesible outside of class. I ended up liking Shakespeare because of him and this comes from someone who is not a big fan of classic literature. There is a considerable amount of homework and quizzes almost every class, but if you work hard you can definetly get an A.
He is a great teacher who gives a lot of insight. He's an easy teacher that makes you work for your grade. You don't take many notes but highly recommended that you listen. Do the work or leave. DO NOT SLEEP IN HIS CLASS. EVER.
Do yourself a favor and take his class. I am not lying, he is the best English professor. You will end up loving Shakespeare and learning a lot about literature. If you are looking for an easy A, this class is not for you. However, if you are willing to work super hard in order to strengthen your writing skills, he is the right one.
Great teacher, he's the best at giving feedback. Takes the time to talk to everyone about the their progress.
Super chill, super laid back. Definitely makes you work for your grade but helps and gives great feedback. He gives multiple chances to improve your essays as well as extra credit. It's imperative that you stay on top of your work, pay attention and you'll do great.
Hands down one of the best professors Ive had. He actually cares about his students and their progress. He sits down with his students and gives constructive feedback. Obviously do the readings, essays, and homework and youll do well, utilize Occams razor. I really enjoyed the class, had a little bittersweet feeling at the end of it.
Professor Dolce is an amazing English teacher. By far the best one Ive had. He gives a lot of opportunities to fix your essays as well as great feedback before you actually turn it in. He does give you pop quizzes at the beginning of class which relate to the content in previous class. If you do the readings you will most likely pass his class.
His class is pretty easy, just make sure you do the work (it doesn't matter if you think is crappy), and he'll give you very good feedback about it, also make sure you do the Quizzes every single class that are based on the readings from the HW. Overall, his class is fun and easy and it really does help you become a better writer.
This professor has been one of the hardest professor I ever have, but he has also been one of the best ones. Professor Dolce not only teach me about the English language, but also on basic life methods to have a better life. I highly recommend to take him, also he a really cool guy.
Professor Dolce is by far my favorite English teacher to date. His lectures were really interactive and energetic, making the two and a half hour long class breeze by. For the most part, he sets you up for success by having the class as a whole brainstorm evidence and topics for our essays. Semi-daily quizzes are easy points if you read!
He's one of the best professors I had in college. I took him both for English 115 and 116 and got an A on both classes. He gives great feedback when revising essays, his lectures are very engaging, and he truly cares about his students. There are quizzes in class about the readings which are usually two questions long. You won't regret choosing him
You will truly learn to become a better writer in Dolce's class. His lectures are very informative. Professor Dolce is nothing short of amazing. He accepts late work, he gives you the outline for the final on the first day, and his feedback is the best I've ever received. Even after the online transition, he is always available for his students.
I feel like he was a great teacher, and I would take him again and I probably will for ENG116.
I took his class Fall 2020 during the pandemic and he only did online. If you do the homework, this is an easy A. He is a great professor and I would take him again. He does give vocab quizzes but they are easy and straightforward. He is there to help you and is easy to communicate with. He was a great professor and his class was interesting.
In English 116, I was fortunate and grateful to have him as a professor because he truly believed in being our writing coach. His class was hybrid so it would help out many of his students. He would also give his students a call every once in a while, to show he cares about us. He was honest when it came to grading but only truly wanted us to pass.
Prof. Dolce accepts late work at any time, but assigns around 5 things at the end of every week. So one's workload can pile up quite easily if one procrastinates. The grade breakdown is 40% canvas assignments, 50% the 3 essays, and 10% the final. Dolce values participation and rambles during lecture so you work on assignments in your own time.
I took his class this summer and honestly it was the best English class I ever took. Professor Dolce was so nice and caring and gives good feedback about your assignment. Lots of assignments and homework but you just have to follow the same pace as him. He extend the due date and tries to be flexible as much as possible. I TOTALLY RECOMMEND HIM!!!
Professor Dolce class is great I took it online and got a C. I received a C because I missed the final.
Every review about how awesome he is, is true. Please take Dolce, he's very understandind and caring, leaves assignments open all semester and lets you edit your papers how many times you need for you to get an A.He even checks up on you if your grade drops, my aunt passed away and I almost failed the class if it weren't for him helping me.Take him!
his class can seem intimidating at first b/c there is a lot of readings, quizzes, and discussions, but they're relatively easy. just do your work and you'll be fine. he accepts late work with no penalty too. he offers a zoom option for those who don't feel well enough to go to class in person. he's always willing to help and answer any questions.
Prof. Craig Dolce is a very understanding, flexible and overall grate professor. There is some reading, but it is an engl class, he makes the class interesting with his experiences and overall understanding of the subject, I really recommend him and would take him again if I had the chance, goodluck!
He's a very understanding and easygoing guy. Funny and gives a break every class. The work piles up very quickly if you don't do it, but it's really easy if you keep on top of it. He accepts late work for full credit as well. However, lectures became a drag because he reviewed every person's essay submissions.
Great professor. He's a little wild but he's a great teacher. He is knowledgable in english and writing so expect to learn a lot! His lectures can drag on occasionally but for the most part, be prepared to type prompts and receive criticism. He was very funny and respectful and you will learn to write a great argument in the topics you choose.
Professor Dolce is approachable and understanding. The work piles up very quickly if you don't do it, but it's really easy if you keep on top of it. Late submissions are accepted for full credit. Pay attention to his online lectures even if they can be a drag, as they provide valuable information. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.
Amazing professor!!! He cares about the success of his students. I have a disability and he was more than respectful and caring about it. During hardships, he was very lenient about me turning in my work. Overall, an amazing teacher would definitely recommend.
Super cool and nice dude. Uses canvas for everything and he gives good feedback for essays. Homework assignments pile up if you procrastinate like I did, but he gives full credit for late assignments. Grades things as complete or incomplete. Lectures can be a bit of a drag, because he starts to talk a lot. He guides you through everything.
If you need to take English 115 take him because he is chill and a cool guy. The lectures can be wack, but you will get used to it. You have to make sure you have the time to take this class cause there are mini "quizzes" but they are assignments so make sure you have the time to do them. Overall great teacher. Would definitely recommend him.
I loved him, he's very sweet and understanding. There are three essays and one final. Some assignments every week. He is very willing to stay after class to give you feedback. Participate if you can. Overall, he is a very good teacher and very funny.
