This guy is great...wants every student to excel.
One of my favorite professors. Tries to help everyone. Don't pay attention to his humor, he doesn't mean it.
Wonderful man, very funny, Take him!
i liked him a lot
great teacher. i learned a lot from him. his jokes might not be funny all the time but he makes class fun.
Knows his subject inside and out. Keeps student expectations realistic. Funny guy. Truly cares about student success.
such a wonderfull teacher!class always fun to attend.very funny.cares for his students.know his subject like the back of your hand for the tests. you take alot of notes!test..a lil hard so study.
U take lots of notes, never stay the whole time, test format never changes and he tells u what to study prior. Have to attend 2 plays.
Such a great guy. Not many instructors like this guy left. He cares, he knows his stuff, he's willing to help you - what else are you looking for in a teacher? If you need to take theatre, take this man!
Very nice guy! Very cool because he shows the sets that he has worked on! Tests are fair. Cares about students, students care about him.Great room as well! The actual theatre building, so if you get bored( i doubt it) there are cool sets to look at! :)
Craig is a funny guy. He likes to make you feel at ease by cracking some jokes and doing some cool assignments. Ask him to do his****Wee Herman voice...good times! His class is not hard if u take notes and study.
craig is great. take good notes and study, no problem. though if you are easily offended by off color jokes, craig is not the teacher for you. you would probably want to stay away from the theatre departmant alltogether ;)
Craig is great. The class is interesting and Craig makes everything fun. Even lecturing wasn't bad. Take Craig if you can.
Craig is funny, relateful, and knows what he's talking about. A word to the wise take Thtr 100. It's fun, and we get to poke fun at David Hasselhoff's performance in Jekell and Hyde.
One of the best instructors I've ever had. Clear, concise, active teaching style combines well with his funny and sarcastic personality. Will take as much time as necessary to make sure you understand the material. If you get it the 1st time, he doesn't beat you over the head, but let's you move on.
Craig is funny, energetic, fair, and a real person. I would love to take one of his other classes.
craig is an awsome guy, i have him for two classes and its really fun, stagecrafts is a blastand everyone should take it. he teaches you valuable info, thats easy to learn and test arnt hard as long as you review your notes before hand.
He's great! My favorite teacher... he makes you want to pay attention to what he says. Very funny, and personable; for example, he lets all his students call him Craig instead of Mr Everett.
Just write all the notes he puts up on the overhead. Don't buy the book, not needed, all test material are from notes. you have to write 2 play crituques and 3 tests. Keeps the class interesteing even for night class.
Good teacher, makes sure material is understood by all students, sometimes gets off topic but always finishes before time and lets you leave. Don't miss class though he isn't to forgiving for that.
This man is amazing. He cares about all his students so much and he loves making his classes really easy. Take as many courses as you can with Craig, it'll make your life so much easier.
Craig is fantastic. He cares about his students, helps above and beyond the call of duty and makes you want to show up to class. I have taken all of his classes and would recommend that if you have a choice, take Craig over the other professors. He loves what he does and it shows through how much fun he has, through joking and general goofyness.
Possibly the best teacher ever taken. His tests never change, they are all the same style. He gives awesome info about Theatre. His questions on the Exam are taken %100 from his lectures. He used to be with Police!! All in all, he should be Teacher of the year. I love his Scene Designing of Dracula. You must see it!
this man is amazing! he will help you with any problem you have even if it has nothing to do with class! he gives great advice and if you pay attention you will learn ALOT. not only does he teach the subject well, he also teaches you life lessons. i know that sounds corny but once you take him you will know what i mean. hes an amazing person!
Good teacher, fun class. However tests are way too focused in memorization. If you can't memorize stuff, you may only get a C. I still would take him instead of other theatre teachers though.
Awesome Instrutor Highly Recommended
Absolutely amazing. Relatable and funny. Gives opportunities to all students who show earnest interest in the theatre department. LOVE YOU CRAIG!
One of the best professor i have ever had. He makes his lectures interesting, and funny. Which is hard, but somehow does it so everyone understand what's going on. Loved his class.
Best Teacher at the school.
Craig is a superb teacher with a quirky sense of humor. You can count on his class being informative and fun.
I like his as a person. Very friendly and helpful. You will never get bored in his class... I can't believe only 4 people out of 30 say he is hot.. He is super hot.. Sad he is married..
Craig is one of the most genuine and amazing people I have ever had the privilege to know. As an instructor he will NEVER make you feel dumb for not knowing something and just say "You know why you don't know this? Because you've never done this before and that's ok". Probably one of the smartest people I know and very funny. Take his classes!
Awesome Prof, very likable, very funny, has a pet peeve of people getting 'too loud', actually teaches in a way that's memorable and uses his quizes to see if we've been reading the plays, rather than taking the questions of the quiz too seriously, for example, he wont mark your score down for misspelling a character name.
I enjoyed taking Craig's class. He is an awesome teacher and you will get an understanding of theatre. His teaching is great
My FAVORITE teacher at the school. Very clear, and isn't an insanely boring person. Good sense of humor, but knows when to be serious.
He is the first college professor I have had with common sense...ever. He is structured, understandable, dependable, keeps you interested & never left unsure of what is expected of you, & you?re never afraid to ask for help! I took this theatre course on a whim & it turned out to give me direction & motivation in my college career. Great prof!
Ladies, don't wear a skirt in his class. I did and he made comments that were NOT sexual harassment but did make me feel uncomfortable.
He did that to me too!
He seems to hate theatre for some reason... Odd when he is head of the department!
Best prof at Grossmont. Caring and WANTS to help you succeed. Clear, concise, questions encouraged. Makes you comfortable even if you're as power-tool challenged as I WAS (but am not now!). High quality class both in education and experience. If you show up and participate, you're going to get a lot from Craig and want to take him again!
Best teacher I have ever had. Period. Took him for 110 as well, and I loved every minute. I wish I would've taken more classes with him. Smart, funny, has had tons of professional experience (which is nice), and altogether excellent. Do your work and be quiet. He appreciates effort.
Best prof out there. Happy to take all of his classes. Will give you the tools and knowledge your need to succeed in the class. Consistent with his testing and grading, clear expectations of the student. Wants you to learn and succeed. Sometimes will give you the "reality" of theatre, which is a helpful perspective. Funny. Love him.
Great teacher! Best i've had at grossmont. Have had 3 classes with him already and am taking another next semester. He is really helpful and wants you to succeed. He will help you with whatever he can and isn't afraid to "fight the system". Very knowledgeable.
awesome! he is funny as hell. even though the class is mostly note taking, its better than spending 100 on the book. if i can take him again i will!
I took this class as a once a week three hour block. you would not know he lectures the whole time. He keeps everything interesting. He provides a study guide before the test. if you know whats on the guide you WILL get an A on the test. He also asks questions about the important stuff from the previous days notes. BRING A HIGHLIGHTER TO CLASS
I also took theatre 100 with him and if he taught another class that i needed to take i wouldn't hesitate to take a class with his again. He is so funny, and the class is in no way boring. And if you're havig trouble with something, he's happy to help!
One of my favorite professors, he knew how to catch your attention during a class and keep it. WARNING: He makes fun of pretty much every nation you can think of, & if you're easily offended, not for you. Very informative, does his job more than well
His class is strictly lecture, if you miss the notes you better make a friend and get them cause his tests are pretty tricky. They aren't multiple choice. However, he offers TONS of extra credit, 65 points most. Overall, pretty boring but he's a pretty good teacher. I got an A.
Also took 100 with him. Make sure you have the notes and do the assignments (2 critiques,3 tests) and you are good. Craig is wildly experienced in technical theatre and has many stories. He does joke around with everyone but it's harmless
His class is really fun and interesting, even if it is just a lecture class. He's a character. He promotes a positive learning environment, and he actually wants you to be interested in the subject and cares if you do well. Tests are easy if you pay attention in class. It's a class you can look forward to.
Great teacher. his lectures are very interesting. He gives a study guide one week before the exam. if you know everything in the study guide, you will do great in every test.
You don't need the textbook at all. I sent $120 and never opened it. This is a great class. He is funny and entertaining. His class easy. If you take notes and study them, your going to do well. You do have to pay for at least 3 plays. About $30. He is great and definitely take his class.
He is a crack up, very professional, very clear what he wants from his students. tests are everything in the notes and nothing more, very interesting videos, and he is a character himself =] ill take more of his classes in the future; although i think I get on his nerves a bit.
Craig is the prof you want to have for this class. He keeps it interesting and funny and he will never ask you to remember futile stuff. He is CRYSTAL clear in what he wants from you and will never waver from what he said he would do. Plus, he is a really classy guy.Look beyond the clothes he wears to class. Be willing to learn and you will do well
Welcome the the Craig Show. He is very comical and insightful and helps you understand the world better even outside the subject of theater. His classes are laid back and informal but do not take the tests lightly because it is hard to get a good grade without studying. I would highly recommend this professor for anyone.
Easy A, very minimal work and absolute clarity as to what you are expected to know for tests.
Craig is super funny, well-liked by all, and a great teacher. He is engaging with students and conveys all the material needed on tests--and tells you exactly what to expect. If you have the opportunity, take one of his classes.
mr. everett is a great teacher, his class requires a lot of notes that if you skip class its easy to get them from someone else. through the whole semester we had 4 tests(50 questions each) and two critiques on plays we saw. he lives ALOT of extra credit so take it! would take again.
I've taken 3 classes with him and they're all great. He wants all of his students to pass and will go out of his way to help you if you ask for it. he could make rocket science seem easy the way he teaches, even his online class is very clear. his classes are interactive and I'm always excited to go to his class. my favorite teacher by far.
He's great. Sassy, fun, fair. I took Narrative Theory and all you do is watch the movies and read the plays then take a short test on them. The lectures are more discussion based. He's great to work with. Very clear about what's expected. Love him. No textbooks required.
If only we could clone Craig and have him teach every class on campus. His lectures are basically stand up comedy routines and he is crystal clear about what he expects from students. Almost changed my major just to have an excuse to take one of his classes again.
*Disclaimer: I am one of those people who actually take college classes to learn and not just hope for the easy grade. If that's you, my opinion may not be very useful to you.* Awesome teacher! You know EXACTLY what to prepare for and it's not terribly difficult to pass. Just do the work and actually try and you should be fine.
hes a hilarious guy. Class is pretty much all note taking and some videos. This class does get boring but its easy if you study. He gives out a lot of extra credit. His final is not cummulative. You get graded on few things so theres never homework unless an assignment is due.
If you're offended easily, be mindful about partaking in this class. Craig has very interesting views and can seem like he disagrees easily, but is very conversational and motivational in the way he teaches.
Literally the easiest class I have ever taken in my life. If you do your assignments (we only had a little bit of assignments) and write down the answers in your review sheet, you will definitely get an A. Gives tons of extra credit.
MAKES YOU LOVE THIS SUBJECT, EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN.
Professor Everett is easily the best teacher at Grossmont Ive had thus far. His lectures are very fun because of his sarcasm and wit, but this commentary is also extremely beneficial with remembering material. Theres only 2 assignments and 4 tests, its a very reasonable load. I hope to take a class with him again, it was an absolute pleasure.
Easy A. Craig gives you study guides before each test that has 80% of the answers! Just make sure you study beforehand because he gives 30 minutes to finish tests. Also provides extra credit. Work was easy and doable.
Very good professor. Just do all the work and you will pass. Tests are kinda hard but if you just look over study guides he sends via Canvas you will end up with an A.
Good teacher and easy class. He is a little unclear on his standards and lots of miscommunication. Otherwise read all thats required and you will be pass.
Everett is a riot, he manages to make fun of every type of person throughout every lecture. He is very funny and makes the lectures interesting. The class is pretty easy, he provides accurate study guides and theres only 2 papers the entire semester. Also any college level or higher theatre performance you attend is extra credit for the class.
His class was easy but their is a lot of work especially if you take him in the 8-week period. Overall the class was easy and he gives you a study guide for each test which usually has most of the answers to the test. In the end you write a theater critique so be prepared to write.
Took him online and even then he was hilarious. No need to purchase any textbook because everything is online and straightforward. Only major assignment besides the exams was having to go watch and play and write about it. Just do everything decently and on time and it's an easy A.
He made class very enjoyable and I would love to take a class with him again. Be ready to take lots of notes, but be sure to do the extra credit. Extra credit helps your grade a lot.
Professor Everett is an amazing teacher who really is passionate about theater! He offers a study guide before each exam, which contains 85% of the exam. The work is super easy. Just complete your work and participate in discussions and you'll pass. He gives a lot of extra credit based on your posts so do them. Would definitely recommend!
The best professor I've had! Even though its an online class (8 week), he is so funny and really wants everyone to succeed. Always put effort into your discussion posts, because he gives tons of extra credit if he feels you did a good job. Not a ton of time for tests, so make sure you do the study guide beforehand. You have to see one play. Easy A+
class has 3 modules for test with videos, but when the quiz comes, half the test is nothing we studied. Test asks very specific questions, and it had over 40 questions that need to be answers while being timed, its not fair that the test it timed 30 minutes only, you find yourself rushing through the test, and to make it worst is 100 point of grade
Best professor ever! He is funny and always tries to make boring topics more interesting! He is also very patient, knowledgeable, and caring ! He gives good feedback on all of your homework! Very responsible! Tons of extra credit! Choose him!
amazing professor! wants you to do well in the class. 4 test and like 4 assignments & gives extra credit. the test have no gotcha questions & are online! no textbook required, attendance is required but he's not super strict about it in terms if u cant attend you call him and let him know and get the notes from a peer. lectures are fun & amusing!!
Professor Craig Everett is a kind and respectful teacher, I took his online Summer class and he is easy to contact. Professor Everett wants you to do good in his class and even offers extra credit to help your grade. I really recommend him!!!!
I just took the 4 week summer rendition of this course, and I'm very happy with my decision. Prof. Everett was very detailed in all of his responses to the assignments, which I really liked. Though time windows for assignments were small, as it was a four week course, I found it to be manageable while working full time and taking another class.
If you're thinking of taking the 8 week course, do it. DO it now. Be prepared there is a bunch of work especially in the first few weeks but then you get into a groove. The outlines are interesting. I recommend printing the study guide for the (4) exams. Prof. Everett is hilarious and often gives out plenty of extra credit w/ discussions. Good luck
Everett! Funny professor easy class. Took the shorter term course, so lots of assignments but was manageable. Just keep up with the assignments and you'll do fine. Offers extra credit.
He is so easy going and will give you extra credit on random assignments if he sees you put effort in. Hes so chill 10/10 would recommend
Super chill professor, gives good study guides before tests. I def recommend his class.
Honestly the absolutely best teacher Ive had so far. He made the class enjoyable and simple to understand especially for a course that might not be easy to transfer online normally. I would 100% take this class again and in the future if I ever need to take another theatre class I plan to choose him as my teacher again.
Take this class with a friend!!! He doesn't really teach. You basically read his printouts and do your homework. He does give some extra credit here and there but his test are super tricky and hard. I thought this class would be fun and I was wrong! so much homework so much studying.
This professor is very chill and his grading criteria are very straightforward. If you do the assignments and complete his study guides before the tests then you will easily pass with an A. All we had were discussions and the occasional two-paragraph report. If you want to take theatre and have an easy time then this is your guy.
This man saved my GPA and he absolutely did not have to. There are some professors that say they will work with you on projects, but don't extend the deadline more than the end of the day. Craig ACTUALLY cares about his students success in his course and will make sure you get the grade you deserve. 15/10 will be taking more classes with him.
Would not take again because the class was not engaging. Reading material was just outlines that are hard to actually learn from. Easy A so long as you remember that, during test-time, Ctrl+F is your friend. Not my type of learning. He's probably fine in an in-person-class! But online? No way.
Easy A. His class was fairly simple and straight to the point. We only had a few assignments that were pretty easy and fun. He lets you use your notes during tests (that he lets you take at home or in class). As long as you take the notes he provides during lectures and do the study guides you'll get a good grade.
