this guy makes organic chem easy breezy. HE is easy to understand and very helpful if you go to his office. YOU barely need the book if u study his notes and do his practice tests. the material is not easy but he will make it easy for sure.

Incredible teacher. The class itself is extremely difficult for me, and he really understood that. Very nice guy, always willing to answer questions. Really goes out of his way to help his students; you can tell that he really cares about every one of them. I really can't say enough about him. Very hard class, but still one of my favorite teachers!

Awesome teacher! I did tricollege from ndsu to take this class with him b/c i heard such good things and they were all right! He's a goofy guy but he explains things in a way a normal person can understand. Has easy points for homework and take home quizzes and his tests are exactly like the practice ones so he really wants his students to do well!

If I could say more than the comments allow about Dr. J, I would--he is a great man, very easy to understand and to correct mistakes. He is a tough grader for lab, though, make no mistake! Regardless, he genuinely cares about his students. Enjoyed every class, even the ones that were long.

He will go out of his way to do anything to make sure you know the material. Best teacher I have ever had. I wish he taught all my classes. That being said, you need to apply yourself and do the additional work--the class itself is hard and I've wanted to rip my own hair out a few nights. Study well in advance and go ask him questions. Really great guy! Took organic over the summer and learned to love it! Subject can be dull and requires lots of memorization. However, professor is straight to the point and explains clearly.

Best prof I've ever had. Has the ability to relay information with uncanny clarity. Is great in lab, always ensuring you understand the material by spending more time than he has to. Tests aren't difficult if you do the practice he gives you. Need to be willing to put some time into the class, but would suggest Jasperse above any other prof.

Dr.Jasperse was the BEST professor I've experienced in college thus far. His love for the subject is contagious and he makes the subject understandable and interesting. If I could take all of my classes from professors like Dr.Jasperse, college would be a much better learning experience.

I took both sems of ochem in the summer online (through NDSU). It was a BLAST. Yeah it sucked doing school work in the summer but it was by far the best two classes I have taken. He is SO helpful and kind. I would take all my classes from him if I could. I didn't use the textbook at all, I just used all of the material he put online.(theres a lot)

The most caring and intelligent professor at msumMinnesotaunited states. He has a love for chem that will rub off on you. Did not use textbook once. Labs are even enjoyable. He has so much material to help you succeed in class and is willing to do anything to help you understand chemistry. I wish he would teach every chem class.

Jasperse is hands down one of the best professors at MSUM. He is caring and very accommodating to students needs because he genuinely wants everybody to pass. Made O'Chem 1 &2 a breeze! Absolutely loved him!

This guy's an absolute baller. DR J teaches a very confusing and difficult subject thoroughly and clearly. No surprises or curveballs on tests, repeats important material many times. Butt tons of review material and videos of him going over old tests. Super helpful in office hours. 100% real deal american hero and what every professor should be.

I can't begin to say how great of a teacher Dr Jasperse is. He really takes time to make sure that you can be successful and will do anything to help you succeed. He has quick grading and email responses and his class is set up so well. With out a doubt take Jasperse because you won't regret it.

He does a great job explaining difficult concepts, and because of his teaching, I was able to get A's in both Organic Chemistry I & II, online, over one summer. I took both organic chemistry in one summer, Craig, is the best teacher I have ever. one of the smartest instructor the World can have. Knows his stuff, more than anyone I have came across so far. He is my role model. take organic chemistry with him, you will be glad, that you did.

If you aren't sure about taking this course with Dr. Jasperse, I would definitely recommend doing it. You will learn the material and do well if you put in the time he expects from you. Taking both courses in the summer was a lot so make sure you aren't working full time. I have no negative comments about him or the course.

I took Ochem 1&2 online during the summer. He was highly reviewed but if you are not someone who can dedicate time to an online class you may want to look elsewhere. His lectures are helpful & he has a lot of practice exams that are similar to the test but there is no getting around the fact that Ochem is difficult. Work hard to get a decent grade

He lays everything out for you at the beginning if each semester if you study and do extra practice and do practice tests its very easy to get a passing grade. if you ever have question he is very willing to help and answer, I defiantly recommend taking any class he teaches!

Where was he when I took gen chem?!?! He is an awesome instructor. I was very nervous about both Ochems during the summer, however he gives you the information, the rest is up to you to do the work of learning it. Very informative. Just remember that Ocher in general is hard, he just made it easier to understand, but it was still hard.

I took 341/342 in the summer online. Make ochem your full time job. His lectures are FANTASTIC and really intuitive. Do as many practice tests as you can before taking tests. I got bogged down with the book, so I just used lectures. Take his class, he's the BEST. Also, print out everything in advance and get it bound at the union-cheap/convenient.

I would recommend his classes to anyone who wants to get a whole year of ochem done over the summer. Jasperse does a great job of making everything feel intuitive, and he really does make it fun. Put the time in (at a minimum, all the lectures + problem sets + 1 or more practice tests+ study before each test), and the tests aren't too tricky.

Dr. Jasperse is without a doubt the best professor I have ever had. He is able to take such an intimidating course, which is full of dense topics and complicated mechanisms, and break each piece down so that it is easy to understand. He gives his students every possible resource to do well in the class, and even though its hard, he makes it fun.

Wow, this guy goes way above and beyond than any other teacher I've had. He has so many notes and worksheets for you to do that you never even have to look at the book. He makes videos of how to do problems and just has so many resources for you to do well. If people didn't do well it's because they didn't use the resources. Great professor!

Amazing & favorite professor- truly cares about his students and is very easy to talk to-go in if you have questions and he will do everything he can to help! He records and posts his lectures & gives you lots of extra practice for the exams-including plenty of practice exams. ORG CHEM IS LABOR INTENSIVE. Will be very hard- study study study.

Be prepared to put in work but in a good way. He cares about his students and he's passionate about OChem. He tells you what you need to know so you are never left in the dark. There was a lot of material to memorize but it made it easier during exam time. He provides practice tests and extra practice problems for each chapter. You're solid!!!!

To all the people that are telling you he doesn't have material, goes too fast, doesn't care, etc please look at his website. You can see prerecorded lectures incase you miss something in class, worksheets, problems, etc. Only downfall is his grading. However you should see the types of problems other universities put. Not this straightforward.

No one has ever said that Organic Chemistry would be easy but he makes it a lot easier. This class is very intensive, you need to study A LOT. But he provides many online resources: extra mechanisms, practice exams, hours of vlogs of him going through said mechanisms and exams. Yes he does all or nothing grading but if you study, you can do it.

I took the class online and the flexibility of the course was amazing. Jasperse is very willing to work with any schedule and super organized! Along with the online lectures there are guided notes, which really helped!! this was my 2nd time taking ochem, first time I took it I got a C. But with Jasperse I got an A and can say I enjoyed ochem!

He gives good explanations of the course content and he presents his lectures well. He gives examples and explains in ways that students are able to understand. Online homework is fairly easy. There are a few quizzes. Exams are mainly what make up your grade. I would recommend taking him as a Organic Chemistry professor.

Choosing between OCHEM at NDSU or with Jasperse, I'd recommend Jasperse. You will have to put a lot of work into this class, but if you use the resources that Jasperse provides, you will succeed in this class. Downside is that the tests are your main grade, so it is important to make sure you are prepared for the test.

Definitely manageable. Dr Jasperse give you all the resources to do well in the course (previous tests over same material, practice sets over specific problems) and lets you know exactly what will be on each exam. The course takes time, but if you put the work in, you will do well.

Professor Jasperse is honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had. I was an online student an had some questions about the class and called the number he listed on his emails. He picked up and spent about half an hour answering all of my questions and making sure I understood it. I wish more of my professors could be like him. Good dude.

Dr. Jasperse is the best Chemistry professor I've had, and I took his class online. His website is set up so that you have every tool available to help you in this class. He is very responsive to questions via e-mail, often responded to me within hours. You will have to work hard (it's OChem) but he gives you all the tools you need to succeed.

Actually felt this class was easier to succeed in than my general chem class (had a terrible professor). Dr. Jasperse is awesome! Gives you all the material you need to succeed. If you study, you can definitely get a solid grade. TIP: instead of buying the book he lists, buy "Organic Chemistry for Dummies"-honestly helped make the material easier.

He does give his students all of the necessary tools they need in order to be successful in his class. What made things difficult is that he does not offer any extra credit, nor does he curve the tests. His grades do rely heavily on what students get on all the tests, as the homework and quizzes are not worth a lot for his class. YOU HAVE TO STUDY.

His teaching are very good. You don't have to open a book . You'll master Ochem if you do your hard work and follow guideline. Ochem subject was supposed to be hard but he will carry your hand and walk through it. His office hours are very flexible, I gave almost all 4 test and finals within a month.I poped up anytime and he was there to help.

Great professor, superb organization. Every detail is there; from the way his class is formatted, to the content, the homework and quizzes, and beyond. Expectations are clear, and he is easy to contact. Lectures are done via online video recording like its real time. All he requires is that you complete everything and turn in by the deadline.

There's no one on this planet more passionate about OChem than Dr. Jasperse. The course is not terribly difficult but there's a lot of info to learn. He posts all of his lectures online, so you can work at your own pace. He's also really flexible about when to take exams. Really nice guy who cares about his students! Didn't need the textbook.

This course is a great option for distance students as it is asynchronous and all lectures are previously recorded. Dr. Jasperse is very responsive to emails.

He's great! This online option saved my butt! I really like the fact that I do watch lectures at home, you can rewind it as well. Lots of practice material, so i didnt really need the book. Do ALL the practice sheets and test. Make sure you understand whats right and wrong. And you should do well on the tests. The forth one was the hardest!

Dr. Jasperse is awesome. A lot of information to learn, BUT he provides EVERYTHING you need to master the class content. I did all of the practice problems and the exams that he provided. The website that he has has everything super organized. He always responds to questions and you can tell that he cares about his job and his students.

Jasperse is the best! I wouldn't be doing well in Organic Chemistry if he was not my professor. The material is challenging but it is O Chem so you have to expect that. Although, Jasperse gives you all the resource you need to succeed including practice worksheets, print out notes and even practice test. He is also always available for help.

This has been my favorite class of my college career. While it is content heavy, he gives you a course manual that has an ample amounts off examples and practice problems. In the second semester, I would say that only 60% of the class stuck it out to the end with even less passing. Be ready to study.

Dr. Jasperse is an INCREDIBLE human being. He has you print out all of the notes that you need before the course begins. His lectures are "follow along" and interactive. You learn so quickly and the information sticks with you. You can earn partial credit on exams and you can schedule exams for whenever you feel ready. He puts the student 1st

Jasperse is the best OChem professor in the Fargo-Moorhead area by far!!! He is a great human being and really wants everyone to succeed. Organic Chemistry is usually one of the hardest classes no matter what college you go to so expect to work. His website is organized so well though, you can always go back and re-watch lectures.

Prof Jasperse's online Organic Chem class is really phenomenal. He has many many study resources, and explains everything via recorded lecture that you can listen to multiple times if needed. Also, he is very caring and works on getting to know students, even though the class is all online & asynchronous. Hard class, but 100% do-able!

Awesome teacher, he knows everything organic chemistry. Exams are very difficult. Best way to get a good grade would be to do well on exams and get 100% on HW (long but easy with chegg, same with quizzes.) Don't get overwhelmed with the material. Do the practice tests at least 3 times before exam, he normally only tests on the example tests mechs.

I'm gonna set the record straight. Most points are sapling homework and tests. The tests are not easy if you let them be hard. DO ALL the practice and then practice more problems. Most of my friends are getting 80% and above on tests. The hw isn't that bad. His website is amazing. You can watch all lectures online. He's always available to talk

Dr. Jasperse is a great professor. He literally gives you all of the resources that you need to succeed in his class. Do the Saplings, practice questions, and tests a couple times before each test and you should do well. It is Organic Chemistry so you definitely need to put in the work, but if you utilize what he gives you then you will succeed!

While the material is difficult, he does a good job explaining it during lectures. If you have questions he's quick to emailing back with an answer.

I was intimidated registering for an online organic chemistry course, but Dr. Jasperse was a huge help. Lectures very relevant to the exam material, lots of homework to boost your grade. He also worked a lot to accommodate in terms of testing and feedback even with it being distance learning. Put in the work and you'll do well. Would recommend!

He teaches in a way that a 'layman' will understand, which was what I really liked about taking this class with him. Chemistry is not my forte, I took the class this summer, virtually. He explains the content so well in his videos that when I did my personal studying, most things made sense to me. it was a great decision to take this class!

While I made a low letter grade, I have to say Dr. Jasperse is the best professor I have had for Organic chemistry. I took the online course O Chem 1 from Dr Jasperse. Dr Jasperse is very knowledgeable and loves to teach. The recorded lectures were fantastic, I could actually understand the concepts. The practice sets and practice tests helped my understanding even more. He has zoom testing available for those that can't make it to campus.

Organic chemistry is hard - there is no getting around that, but Dr. Jasperse's lecture are great! He explains everything really well, goes over a lot examples in lecture, and has tons of extra practice worksheets. The class is set up for you to succeed. I took the online version, and he was great at responding if you need help or direction.

OChem is not easy. Dr. J makes as painless as poss. Hw total =1 test, so helps grade. & hw errors receive very min. pt deduction on computer based, immediate feedback site. understands (utilizes well & often) technology. concedes when hw confusing. approachable, generous, reasonable, humble. Downloadable lectures 100% recommend, txbk not necessary

Best professor I've ever had. O.Chem 1 & 2 are tough but organized notes & structure of website was helpful! Quick response via email. Material available on website so can start early. Course/exam dates flexible - vital for applying to grad school! Book not necessary. Wish I had more professors like him! Shocked at those ones who rated him poorly.

He was very accessible, prompt, offered helpful feedback and was very supportive. He had ample supporting materials and didn't rely on the text book. His testing and grading policies were clear and very accommodating and he was always available outside of class for extra help. So glad I took this with him and would 10/10 recommend.

I took Dr. Jasperse's Ochem 2 course for transfer credit as I attend a different university. I had to drop ochem at my school halfway through the semester last year and was feeling super down on myself for it. This class totally changed my perspective -- Jasperse is such a clear, straightforward lecturer and truly cares about his students.

I have not taken a chem class in nearly 5 years, so I was nervous for this one! However it was clear early on that Dr. Jasperse cares for individual students and wants them to do well. He is probably the most flexible and understanding professor I've had. In order to do well, you MUST put in the time, but the resources are all there.

This professor was compassionate towards his students and even let me postpone my final over the weekend to fit in more studying. His exams are hard but nowhere near as hard as other organic chemistry courses I have taken, but they are by no means a pushover unless you hit the books hard! I retook OChem 2 over the summer, and I'm so glad I found this course! Professor Jasperse gives clear, concise lectures (with detailed notes!) as well as plenty of practice problems and exams to help study. He provides all the resources necessary to succeed in a very difficult course, and if the time is put in to really understand the material you will do well. Professor Jasperse is a great professor. He makes himself available to his students and is pretty flexible in regards to taking the online course. I would definitely recommend him for any student looking to take this online course or in general. The course requires time and effort outside of lectures but I would enjoy having him as a prof. again.

I took this class during the short summer and my grade was 91.50, but if you take it during fall or spring, you have more time to pass it by better grade if you follow your instructor. Dr. Jasperse first reviewed the whole lecture, then started the details. He has practice questions for each lecture, and He also has a few versions for each test

Awesome professor. Very down to earth and explains things very well. Labs have prelab videos that essentially tell you the entire lab. Online assignments and quizzes are the homework. Tests are hard. Class is very time consuming in order to understand the material but all O chem classes are like that.

Professor Craig is so willing to work with you, about anything. Need to reschedule a test? Not a problem. You're going to miss a class? No problem, he has recorded lectures on the website. His exams are difficult, as the content is difficult, but he gives you numerous materials to study from. If you use these materials, you will do fine!

I don't think you will EVER find a professor like Dr. Jasperse. I have never experienced the level of flexibility and kindness that Dr. Jasperse had to offer until I took his organic chemistry 2 course. He truly let the course mold to my needs and I couldn't be more grateful. You will have to work hard, but it was so worth it. A+ for Dr. J!

To summarize: a truly incredible and gracious professor. Online course is completely self-paced. Tests are easy to schedule and straightforward as he gives a clear outline of what is on it-even provides practice tests. Lecture provides plenty of examples. Summer semester has no final exam. He genuinely does his best to help you be successful. 10/10

He truly does his best to help you at every opportunity from making test outlines including examples of previous tests, providing plenty of practice questions so you don't need to buy a book, scheduling tests around your schedule, allowing you to self-pace the class or even extend if you desperately need more time... He made O-Chem enjoyable!

He is such a great teacher. He is always available for students. His lectures are very clear and easy to understands. He gives alot of practice home work so that you thoroughly gets what each chapters is about. His grading system is clear. If you listen to his lectures and practice all the homework, his test is not hard then.

He genuinely cares about your learning and wants to see you succeed. His lectures along with achieve hw make o chem easy to learn (sounds crazy but true!). He also offers to go over all tests with you and gives advice on what to specifically study! Great great great Professor!!!

HIGHLY recommend! He responds quickly to emails and offers many ways to take exams. The content is organized well in the notes. He gives optional practice exams and lots of practice problems with videos working through each--because of this I always knew what to expect on tests. Introduce yourself and reach out to him because he really does care.

I couldn't have better things to say about Dr. Jasperse. His Organic Chemistry II course was so incredibly organized and well-run. His lectures are very detailed but also very clear and accompanied by notes that he provides his students. You can tell he is very passionate about his job and really wants his students to succeed. Highly recommend.

This professor really cares about his students understanding organic Chem. He has clear helpful lectures and extra videos going over all the practice worksheets he provides so you can understand how to problem solve through all kinds of Organic Chem problems. You can start the class early. Flexible testing is offered.

Clear lectures, very accessible via email. Tests are not overly difficult as long as you do all the practice he gives you. Fantastic professor; my last attempt at ochem (at a different school) was disastrous and this experience was great.

I had to take a course over the summer to help supplement my major schedule at another University and found his course, fully online, that was easily transferrable to my University. He had a great structure of the class, not many deadlines, but included lectures, supplemental homework problems, practice sets, and example tests.

Difficult course as expected. Dr. Jasperse was flexible with his availability. Lectures were recorded. Textbooks supplemental. Easy to navigate website, foolproof outline of dates/materials and expectations. Not as stringent/strict on grading/meeting deadlines as some past professors, made this online course great for full-time employee with family

I took organic chemistry as an online asynchronous class over the summer, and I would really recommend Jasperse. O Chem is a tough class, but he lays the material out nicely in lectures, notes, and optional practice questions. You can tell he cares about his students, and he really takes the time to help us understand the material.

This is a difficult class to take anywhere, but I was able to get a good grade while taking the class in a different time zone and working full time. I didn't use the textbook at all, the lectures, worksheets, and practice exams were plenty to prepare me for exams. He is very organized and provides helpful feedback on quizzes and exams.

Dr. Jasperse is awesome. O-chem is by nature very challenging but the way he explains everything just makes sense. You definitely have to put in the work but if you're willing to do that you absolutely will succeed.

As an online student from Illinois, Dr. Jasperse was both personable and knowledgeable. The online lectures were great and the format of both Organic Chem lectures (350 and 360) was perfect for me to complete online. I learned lots and I totally recommend Dr. Jasperse!

I took an online class through MSU-Moorhead that I needed for graduate school. He was very understanding that I just needed to take the class as a prerequisite and was still incredibly supportive. He was able to accommodate my schedule for when I needed help even through zoom. Overall a fantastic, genuine teacher!

Best chemistry professor I have ever learned from. His lectures are great and easy to follow along. He provides a large amount of practice problems that you can tackle yourself which I found very helpful. He offers a lot of his time to help you when you are struggling or have questions. I highly recommend this professor to any student:)

I took this class online over the summer after previously trying to take ORGO 2 at another university and Prof. Jasperse was amazing. His lectures were very clear and easy to follow, being online there was an added bonus of being able to replay as well! He is extremely accommodating when planning exam times and provides plenty of practice material

His lectures were super clear about what was needed to know and the exams were exactly like the practice problems/practice test. As long as you take the time to do the practice test you should do well. He was easy to get a hold of. Exams were on zoom, scheduled by students, and he gave immediate feedback and grades. Best chemistry professor I know!

i didnt even get taught by him but his practice tests are easily accessible online and very good. better than my orgo professor at my univerisity. his website is organized and has a whole review pdf for the whole semester listing key reactions and reagents from each chapter. my professor would never.

I don't even go to this school but his online lectures, practice tests, and notes are the only reason I'm passing gen chem 2. Makes the content easy to understand and really explains math or topics well. I would take him if I could, he seems really nice and carrying!

Dr. Jasperse cares about his students and wants them to succeed. Organic chemistry was exceedingly hard, but he provided a lot of practice and test prep materials. An A is achievable, but you will have to work hard to get that A! Dr. Jasperse is highly responsive and always willing to Zoom and go over topics/problems that you do not understand.

Great professor - explains material clearly and is super helpful. Online lectures and flexible schedule were a big plus. Used unstuckstudy for extra practice and found it really useful alongside the textbook.

I took ochem 1 and 2 online over the summer. It was one of the most difficult things I've done because of the time frame, but Jasperse is one of the nicest and best professors I've had. He responds to emails quickly and really cares about his students. I wish I could take more classes with him. Organic is hard but he makes it better.
