Studying in his class is not as hard as everyone says.The summer class was very interesting and not too demanding.He's good in lectures but may get confusing sometimes but you can still catch on.Very straightforward tho still fun.:P looks like Drew Carey

Craig was a great teacher. He made me like Biology although I have never been into it. His tests are quite easy and there are many opportunities in the class for extra credit or points. Very clear and organized. Website and lecture notes are helpful.

Very clear style of teaching. Also doesn't require a book...his tests are all off his web outline. Made Biology a lot more bearable.

Teaching style different but refreshing.

Although Mr. Milgrim is a bit nit-picky, you will learn a lot from his class. Don't buy the textbook; you won't need it. All test questions come from his online lecture notes. He also gives ample opportunities for extra-credit.

This class is very challenging. If you need to take it, it is best to take Milgrim for B120 as he is the only B220 teacher. Then you are used to his teaching methods and will do better in the class

He's very organized and a demanding professor, but if you are going on in biology, you will appreciate this professor. He covers it all. He is fair and I liked him.

He is a great teacher. The course is pretty easy considering that it is a college course. Need to have internet accesses at home. Gives up to 5% of extra credit! Just study an average of six hours a week and you will get an A in his class.

The test ?s come directly from the outlines. He tells u what u need to study, so do it. Otherwise, no excuses. He's willing to help, you just need to ask. A little rough around the edges but an easy B even if you only study half the time he tells you

This teacher is not as horrible he sounds. Save your $$$ (don't buy the book) b/c he doesn't use it. Take the time to browse his site and you will do just fine.

At-home internet access is not a requirement. If you are able to go to the school library every once in awhile and use their computers you will be fine. The course is very straightforward. Every quiz/exam question comes from his lectures. No surprises! Plus, he offers a sh*tload of extra credit.

Yes you need internet access. No book, and every question on exams comes form lecture. Just print out what he says and follow the lectures. A little boring, but it is biology. Offers alot of extra credit and always has the answers on his website, so there's no way to get the answers wrong.

No need to buy book, material is from lecture, study sheets, and handouts(all duplicated on web). Read all material and there will not be any suprises on test. He is able to present technical material at a simplified level. Offers much extra credit. Very willing to help. Sense of humor.

Meaning he is great at teaching Bio, fun to get him to talk about current events, and he does work with you when you have questions. He does expectyou to listen and respect his class so study, read the material, and you will be fine. He does focus on levels of learning so don't try to just memorize things! Nice guy overall, just foucus on learning

Really, these people are crazy. He gives you so many points and freebies. Im not too great at Bio and I got a B (shouldve been an A) He is dificult to keep up with at times and you do need to study but you should be just fine. Hard but doable... should get at least a B. Every lecture is online and he hosts study groups. No book to buy!!!

he's AWESOME! Don't buy the book, it's a waste. It was my first college course and it was fine. All you need to know is vocab and what info he gives online, so make an effort to keep up on the computer...and don't be late

The problem is you just need to get to know him. You have to be pretty stupid to fail his class. All you have to do is keep up on the on-line outlines and do the EC. Don't need the text. He's also helpful if you need him and he stays in his office. People just think that he's a jerk because he can be in class, but outside, he's a pretty cool dude.

most people that don't like him are those that ask too many questions and because of them, lectures get off track. just follow the lecture, do all the work, and you'll be fine. he provides all his notes online and quiz/exam reviews as well. the only way you won't get an A or a B is if you think too much in this class.

Expect to work very, very hard for a passing grade. Most people drop his class. Milgrim seems to teach at a graduate level and curves the grades so people WONT get an A. He's kind of a cool guy, but he can get really moody.

I found this professor to be bright and enthusiastic, personable and gracious. I was very glad for the experience and was quite astounded at Mr. Milgrim's accessability and professional demeanor. This class is not for wussies. Get in, get involved and do all the assignments - the reward is great.

Knowledgeable, funny, helpful. However, lectures completely lost me. He treats his class as if it's your only responsibility & expects you to devote an excessive amount of time to study. Very little HW, several quizzes/tests, group project is OBSCENE. DON'T take him unless you've PLENTY of free time.

he is a great teacher, i loved his class. it wasnt easy and you have to commit to a lot of time, but hey we are in college, you cant expect him to lay the grade in your lab... he didnt use the book but has his own study notes which i preferred! much easier to understand. the labs were ok...i would take him again anytime...

Ummmm...please pay attention to the dates of comments! He's a great teacher. Biology in college is a tough course and it's not the prof's fault. He's very organized and there is no need for a book. Nearly all who finished his class and did all of their assignments liked him fine. Just stay on top of things in this or any bio class.

He is a very straightforward professor. He teaches what is relevant to the material or topic and nothing else although he advices that if anyine is interested in a topic, there are specific classes to take. Extremely helpful, would answer questions multiple times. I am actually impressed with his patience. Gives clear precise instructions.

Very hard class, but it is do-able, especially if you study alot. The book is very VERY helpful. I found making my own notes from the book and study guide helped alot. Very awesome guy tho I thought. I know everyone thinks Milgrim is a hard professor, but I thought he was Great! He can be a bit sarcastic at times but, he was soooo helpful! I went to his office hours atleast 2x a week and he was very welcoming. He gives you opportunities to succeed and cares a lot about his students I def. Recomend him. As long as you take notes and actually dedicate time to studying you will be fine. there is no homework and you dont need the book. i took it over summer and i got an A. Anyone who cant pass isnt spending enough time studying, thats really all you need to do and he is very helpful if you just ask him.

Milgrim is crazy. Give them air Milgrim!!! He should be teaching at a University, then again he is the head of the Bio Dept. at Grossmont, so its no secret the class should be tough. Be ready for him, hes super cynical and his lectures are really detailed. Take as much notes as possible and read a lot! Study with friends or classmates!

The comments about him are accurate. But I really liked being in his class. He is sarcastic and offends ppl, incl. women who he seems to have a problem with. You will do well if you ignore his difficult attitude and just study. He has the MOST EXTENSIVE info on his website of any teacher I know so it's your fault if you fail.

I think he is actually a great teacher. People that are complaining about him did not read the syllabus because he says all those things about himself. You knew everything before going through the class. He is not easy, but that is OK with me. I am there to learn and he facilitates that. Not always clear on instructions, but if asked he explains.

He is hard, but I expected it the minute I saw him. I had him a while ago, over a year but im sure hes still the same. For some reason he didnt give me the greatest grade on the presentation I did on parkinsons. I have no clue why, I guess hes just a tough grader.

He spoon feeds the class more than any college instructor I've ever had. ALL material you need is on his webpages - read them often and thoroughly and ATTEND CLASS. He is sarcastic only if you are ill prepared, can't follow simple instructions, or if your timing is bad. I've learned more from him than most instructors I spend a semester with.

It's a tough class as it should be, it's only 1 of 2 lower div. Bio courses you need. He will help you during office hours but be prepared to be turned down if your things aren't together. Have all the grammar, formatting, ect, all squared away that way he can critique you on the Bio part of your reports rather than getting a cold shoulder.

There are easier teachers to take but Milgrim knows his stuff. He will not baby you. Offers a couple extra credit opportunities throughout the semester. Make sure you go to class, take good notes, and STUDY HARD for exams. A huge portion of my section dropped before the end of the semester. Hard to get an A, but not impossible.

His class is difficult, but he makes sure that you are fully aware of the level of dedication he expects from you. I got an A in the class, and it came from being able to apply what he was teaching, this class is not as bad as others say as long as you don't slack. come on people we are in college, it is supposed to be a challenge.

I can see why people might say bad things about Pro. Milgrim, however, I loved him! He is hilarious, his website contains everything you could possibly need to get an A in the class, and as long as you study and go to class, you will do fine. He even offered to write a letter of recommendation for me for the nursing program. Nice! Dont buy the book

Milgrim was great! He's a tough cookie at first glance but he's actually quite witty and SUPER knowledgeable. Makes me laugh when people blame him for their bad grades! If you can't hack it then you don't belong in college, let alone a bio class. And his website was a great source for info; how people get lost on his web page is beyond me!

The reviews were written by brainless slackers.I got a B in this class by doing the average amount of work expected. The online guides are a MUST. Print them out, follow in class, get an A on the tests. The lab isn't worth many points and the project is easy. He's a nice, efficient, smart, funny instructor and I'm going back for his BIO 230 class.

Prof. milligram seems very intimidating @1st W syllabus 30 pages long .. BUT everything u need to know is there, + info to pass with an A. Won't baby u or hold ur hand mainly a "can you follow directions" kind of class . READ syllabus n ALL materials on his webpage be ahead of the game, he's fair and firm, and a nice guy too!

All the material for the exams is on his website, which contains notes, worksheets and solutions; sample questions which will appear on the roughly 13 of the test. Quizzes once per week based on key lab concepts which are also posted. High drop rate adds to group project difficulty and workload but exposes you to real scientific material.

Lectures were very boring but everything on the test is covered. He's crystal clear about what you need to do in assignments to earn the grade wanted. If you do as he recommends you will do fine.

You will work for your grade. You cannot pass his class without putting in study time. He provides very thorough study guides for tests as well as study material, and his weekly lab quizzes are easy, if you did the work. He outlines exactly what he expects on projects, so if you can follow directions there's no reason to fail.

I'll be honest, he seemed scary at first, but he's a really great teacher. He made it easy to understand the information, and made sure we knew it by asking us questions during lecture. Uses fun and memorable metaphors to understand difficult concepts. The tests are hard, so definitely study. If I was a bio major, I'd take another class from him.

Professor Milgrim can be a little abrasive at times, but he is a good teacher when it comes to the material. He encourages classroom participation when he asks questions. He gives you a lot of the material that will be on his exams. You will have to put in a little bit of effort to get a good grade in his class, but it is worth it.

Professor Milgrim is intimidating at first but overall he is a nice person. His lecture exams make up a good portion of your grade and you absolutely have to study for them. He gives you all the material up front. He offers extra credit which really helps. He does a group project at the end which is time consuming but will bring your grade up.

He also has a website with an abundance of resources to help you when studying. There is no graded hw in his class but you will be studying a lot (unless you know the material already).

He's very organized, has a website with all the study guides and worksheets that he passes during lecture. He does take attendance so do not be late. There are quizzes at the begging of each lab, and you have to study for them because they can be really hard. The exams are multiple choice and at the end he gives you extra credit opportunities.

Although professor Milgrim is tough he genuinely cares about his students. He goes out of his way to provide a website where everything is organized for you. That being said, you do have to work for your grade, even still he just about tells you exactly what will be on his tests in his study guides, do yourself a favor and go over them.

Milgrim is such a sweet professor. He is always available to answer any questions and is willing to go over exams to see your mistakes. Put the effort into going to office hours to avoid making the same mistakes on the next exam! Some exam questions are straight out of the assigned book problems. Hes clear and isnt trying to trick or fail you.
