she is not a good teacher. she is so confusing when she tries to explain new things. if you get her as a teacher be sure to use the TA. she is so nice though, and really wants you to do well. she gives a ton of extra credit to make up for everyone's low averages.
she is a nice lady...but not always very clear. I already took calc in high school so it was very easy. She gives extra credit like it is her job, and let us retake and or make up tests and quizzes.
not a good prof at all take pyrros, everyone told me i made a BIG mistake, which i did...she never uses numbers to teach and it takes her forever to go over an example...one session a week with the TA taught me more then i learned in lecture. hope for a good TA.
She is so much better than Pyrros, Pyrros ruined my life. I had to take Bacuta and now I have an A/B. She gives out plenty of extra credit to help you out, and is always willing to dumb test down if their too hard. Great lady, ok teacher.... still better than pyrros.
If you love to learn about proofs and not how to actually do problems, take her. I didn't have calc in high school and was completely lost for half the semester. 1 weekly TA session taught me more than a week of lecture.
material is tough bc calc is tough. still, bacuta is very smart and explains everything very well. you really have to follow lectures tho. she moves insanely fast sometimes. also, doesnt go over enough examples, but the ta does that. tests and quizzes aren't easy, but she gives a lot of extra credit, so a good grade isnt too hard. good prof.
This teacher is from Romania...so needless to say she is hard to listen to. She doesn't do a good job comprehending the work and the TA's basically teach you the class in discussion. However, she is nice and gives out extra credit.
I would have had little chance of passing this class with anyone else, she gave extra credit and got me through. Good teacher to take.
She was a good calc teacher, sometimes hard to understand
go to class, pay attention, get extra credit for doing that = A
she has an accent but she's hilarious and knows what she's talking about. good teacher, do your homework.
This is such an easy class. Go to class and do your homework (or most of it at least) and you'll get an A. There isn't too much work and she gives extra credit for just attending lectures.
I didn't like her at first but she takes some getting used to. Hard to understand and complicates everything but she knows what she is talking about. She really wants students to do well. GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS. She gives extra credit/extra point easily. You'll do better than you think. Better than Pyrros.
Dr. Bacuta is a great calc teacher. She explains everything really well. Her accent isn't that hard to understand. She gives out alot of extra credit. There are 6 quizzes, and she drops your lowest grade. The exams are all multiple choice. If you know what you are doing in calc from high school, you don't really need to go to class.
Really nice lady. Go to her office hours! She wants you to do well, really. She'll suggest the math lab in ewing (also a very good idea if you've ever struggled with math) you can get the A even if you do usually struggle. she's very good at identifying weaknesses, and how to fix them. AWESOME TEACHER.
Really an excellent teacher. She really wants her students to do well, and will go out of her way to help you. Go to her office hours. A wonderful lady.
GREAT LADY! gives tons of extra credit, really wants everyone to do well, and has cute sense of humor. Attendance is not taken into account and lowest quiz grade is dropped. If score is higher than tests, final counts twice.
Bacuta is a very good professor who really wants you to succeed. She is difficult to understand at times. Attendence is not mandatory but she does give out extra credit randomly just for attending class. Also she drops the lowest quiz grade which really helps.
Very nice lady. She is a good teacher, but teaches mostly verbally, which was hard for me as a visual person to learn from. Discussion is exteremly helpful, and if you see her during office hours, she will make sure that you succeed. I couldn't have passed the class without office hours from her and my TA.
awesome teacher. explains well in office hours. give extra credit. very nice!
Awesome professor! She saved my college career last semester!!! I would never had made it through this class if it wasn't for Professor Bacuta and my awesome TA. Go to her office hours and let her know that you are really trying and she will help you as much as possible. She loves her students, especially those that put in the effort to do well.
She is really hard to understand and moves way to fast. Doesnt really teach just gives out work, examples she uses in class arent helpful.. I would not recommend her
Great teacher, moves fast, but if you had Calculus before its review. Tests are hard, the questions arent like the book questions. Quizes are more from the book questions. Attendence is needed to take notes. Recommend her, good teacher.
My best professor yet! She cares more than any teacher should. Office hours are important and she enjoys to laugh. Don't need to do the homework, but it helps. Sweetest, nicest, easy to understand, lots of extra credit. 6 quizzes not always easy, but she gives points back at office hours.
the class is difficult but she is very helpful if you go to her office hours gives a lot of points back on your tests if you go and show that you care. she really wants you to pass and do good. so nice, great person, really recommend her
As long as you keep up with the homework and get the notes from class you'll be fine. Really helpful and understanding Professor. I had to miss a major midterm exam but she let me take it another time. Got an A in the class without doing extra credit. For midterm and final, just do the practice exams in the orange/red book.
Great teacher. always there if you need help. very approachable. wants you to succeed. very nice. lots of quizzes. not that hard.
great teacher! a little hard to understand at first but very approachable and willing to help at any time. gives quizzes almost weekly but they bring they can really bring up your grade if you do well. if you do the practice exams in orange book, you will do fine on the exams. lots of opportunities for extra credit if you go to her office hours!
AMAZING TEACHER, hard to understand in the beginning but she is always willing to help, gives a lot of opportunities to succeed. Tests almost every week but questions mostly from book.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. 6 quizzes with the lowest grade dropped (5 of them count). 2 midterm exams and a cumulative final. To do well, either go to discussion or study before each quiz, give someone your clicker for homework credit, and use the workbook to prepare for exams (some questions are identical). Got an A and never went to class.
She is a very nice lady. If you struggle with Calc like and math like I did shes very helpful. Go to her office hours, she will give you points back on quizzes and gives you numerous chances for extra credit. She loves to joke around and is very helpful outside class. I she knows that you are really trying she will make sure you pass. Deff take her
Moves very fast through the material, making it very difficult to comprehend the concepts. I rarely learned anything during lectures and relied on my TA and the discussion section to understand everything. 6 quizes with partial credit, lowest is dropped. 3 multiple choice exams. VERY generous with extra credit, should have got a C, received a B+!
exams really tricky. lots of extra credit. if your having a hard time go to her office hours. she explains things better and gives you a ridiculous amount of extra credit bc she knows your trying hard and she'll pass you. 6 quizzes, lowest one dropped. get workbook by pyrros, test questions pretty identical
Definitely take this professor! She is the nicest lady in the world and really cares about her students. She wants you to learn the material and is very helpful during office hours. Her tests and quizzes are extremely fair and most of the material comes from the homework and inclass examples. Very easy to do well in this class :)
This woman is absolutely wonderful! I was not a fan of Calculus while learning it, but her personality alone makes it enjoyable to sit through. Stay on top of the class, do the homework, and GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS. shes extremely generous with extra credit and showing your face helps. I should have gotten a B+ and she gave me an A-! LOVE HER!
Awesome professor! Very straightforward. Quizzes are straight from the textbook and tests are straight from the workbooks. Just study and you'll do fine.
Prof Bacuta really helps you out when you are in her class. She makes sure you know what is being taught and helps you out whenever you need extra help. Great professor. The subject isn't very exciting but she makes it a little easier to get through.
Class is hard she tries to make things easy but with her accent and the material for the class you have to learn it makes things tough, you are better off trying to get an English speaking teacher
Bacuta is a great professor who wants her students to do well. If you miss a homework or bomb a quiz GO MEET HER DURING OFFICE HOURS. She does a lot to help her students in a department that is so against helping students do well. I highly recommend you take her class.
She is the rudest person I have ever met. I switched in late, about a week and a half after the 1st quiz, and had to tech myself the material through to the material on the 2nd quiz by myself,BOMBED it, asked to make an appointment, she refused to see me because she is too busy. She counted the 1st quiz so I got a (0/60). Failed course in 2 weeks.
she is honestly the worst professor i have ever had. her quizzes and tests are impossible. i do all the homework, study for hours, and go to her office hours two or three times per week and i still get C's and D's on all the quizzes and tests. she puts problems on the quizzes that i have never seen before. she tries to get students to fail.
It would be an easy class had i done the homework and actually studied for tests and quizzes. I always went to class and her notes are easy to understand. The discussion classes were really helpful. There are 6 quizzes and 2 midterms and a final. She drops the lowest quiz grade.
not a bad person but not a great teacher either. I'm terrible at math and attended every 8 am lecture, studied and practiced every day, went to math tutorial and still failed past anything salvageable in a few weeks. Her tests are nothing like her examples/the book.
Prof. Bacuta is an amazing woman. She really does care about how her students do, she wants everyone to do well. As with any class just do the HW and put forth some effort to study and you will do just fine. She has a bit of an accent but speaks clearly and is very easy to understand. One of my favorite Professors at UD so far.
She is so sweet and willing to help. GO TO OFFICE HOURS. She increased my score on all of my quizzes just for me explaining what I did wrong. You have two exams, a final, six quizzes and she drops the lowest.
She is a good teacher; however, the material she teaches usually you can't find on the test. Course is mainly base on the book, and the concept so if you read the book you will pass. No promise on easy A but you will get there if you do the work. If you find the TA or the professor to help you, it could boost your grade up too. They tend to not poi
Bacuta is the best professor I've had at UD. Calc can be hard sometimes but she makes it as simple as possible and is generous with partial credit on tests, but you still have to do work. If you go to her office hours and she'll add points to your tests & will really help. She wants her students to do well and to understand the material. Take her!
Arguably the best math professor at UD. Bacuta is willing to help you understand the material and she really cares about the students. She will take as much interest as you do in the course. Def recommend her, one of the best professors I'v had!
Bacuta was an amazing teacher. The class itself is difficult, but she is really interested in helping students understand the topics. She also gives extra credit assignments which helped my grade so much. I worked hard and got an A- in the class. Take her!
She is an amazing math 241 teacher! She really cares about making sure you understand the material and she offers extra credit assignments which really helped my grade. I worked hard and got an A-. I definitely recommend taking her, one of the best math teachers I've had.
Bacuta is very clear and overall a good teacher - calculus is a hard subject, so if you expect it to be a breeze, take another course. The class is specific to business and economics so be prepared to do a lot of marginal cost and revenue functions. She is very concise and has a nice way of showing the material.
Definitely take this class if you are required to take Calculus. I was dreading calc going into my freshman year and it was not nearly as bad as I though Bacuta is great and provides studyguides along with extra credit
She is a greatt teacher. Definitely go to office hours they will not only help you but your grade. I recommend doing some of the non-graded textbook homework because they prepare you for her tests. She is fair and really has your interest at heart. Also she is a fan of using log and e^x in all of your test.. pick her if you have any doubts
So far she is my favorite professor at the university. Really cares that her students do well. Do not hesitate to go to her if you are having trouble with a concept.
If you pay attention in class every day, you will do well. If you don't pay attention in class and still read/study the book, you will also do well. She is a good teacher and effectively communicates concepts. There are many grades and assignments to help pull your grade up if you're struggling, as well as extra credit opportunities for the exams.
I don't know what else to say other than that she is a terrific professor. You will learn a lot from her. She goes above and beyond to help her students and make the material easy to understand.
Bacuta is an AMAZING lady! As an english/sociology major I spent the first couple weeks crying, thinking about the F I was sure to get. When I went to her office hours she assured me that I would get a good grade and helped me understand the main concepts. Every quiz/exam after that she would give me a thumbs up beforehand. I LOVE her :)
Bacuta is amazing. She's very helpful, her class isn't easy but she will never turn you away if you have questions. She even provides study guides a week before exams that at least 3 questions on the exam come from. Bacuta is the best math professor I've ever had and I highly recommend taking her.
My favorite teacher I have had so far! She was always willing to help and if you went to her office hours and asked a question about your quiz she would usually add a few points. The online homework is super easy also! Take her!
Bacuta is definitely one of my favorite teachers of all time! She is the sweetest person ever and really wants all of her students to do well. Go to her office hours! If you don't understand something definitely go ask; she explains things really well one on one. She'll also gives you points back on your quizzes if she sees that you're trying hard.
I took her for calc and it was a BREEZE. She's a very clear teacher and really knows her stuff. Very helpful during office hours. I overslept my first quiz and she let me make it up in a different section instead of being rude about it. She also gives opportunities for extra credit unlike other 221 teachers and all homework is online. GREAT TEACHER
Professor Bacuta is awesome! I came into this semester thinking Calc would be my hardest class, but it ended up being my easiest. She teaches the concepts very well, and her test are very fair. An extra credit web assign is offered after every test that will add 10% to the test grade. If you are able to take her, do it, you won't regret it!
She is one of the best math professors, I've ever had in my life. She breaks everything down so well, so you truly understand it. She doesn't just slap a formula on the board and do one example. She goes thru everything in detail and does many examples, hard examples too not just easy ones, so u'll gain a strong understanding. she's simply awesome.
SUPER nice and really tries to explain things. Definitely try to go to office hours. The exams (especially the final) can be difficult. I got a tutor because my TA was awful which has helped. Make sure you do the hw, class, and discussion is a must for the points. Extra credit for exams were provided! Take her over anyone!
LOVED HER! Best calculus professor!! Class was really straightforward and easy. I took AP calculus in high school and this was a breeze in comparison. Ended up with an A in the class.
There is no need to purchase any books for this class. Go to office hours to boost your grade. To study, review the online homework and pay attention in class.
She is the best math teacher in the world! you need to take bacuta! she is a great lecturer and is kinda funny. overall, she is just my girl, though. study and try and practice hw she gives and you should get an A!
Bacuta is literally the nicest and most adorable teacher ever. She gives extra credit when you show up to class if there aren't many people there. She gives a ton of homework, but if you do it, you'll do fine on tests and quizzes!
She is the best! Take her for any calc class. She is super nice and helpful. Also go to office hours! I went and she raised both my test grades 5 points because she makes you learn from your mistakes. Also do the hw it helps! Definetly recommend, fav teacher at UD so far.
She is very clear during her lectures and explains everything thoroughly. Tests are fair and easy if you understand the material well. All her lectures are accessible on course capture making it less necessary to go to her lectures. Definitely recommend her, she's great.
Dr. Bacuta is a great prof. She is very clear and concise on her explanations. Exams are straightforward. If you pay attention to notes, you will do well. She uses course capture so there is no way you will miss notes. Highly recommend her for anyone that needs to take MATH241.
she is very helpful and willing to help. Online HW which is not really hard(10%) and 3 midterms that count for 45% and a final exam worth 30%, a quiz every week(total 10%) and group work(5%). For an A you need to get a 93% which is not easy but not impossible.
Highly recommend her! If you go to class, take good notes, and do all the webassign homework, you should feel very confident going into the tests.
solve the web assign and your on the good side!
Great Lady. Extremely helpful and clear. MAke sure you do the homework though. Calc II is a difficult course so you have to work, but she is the best person to teach it.
Bacuta is the best person to take MATH242 with. If you take your exams to her for review she is more than willing to help you with what you got wrong and will probably give you points back. Labs are a waste of time but class is worth it if you pay attention and use notes to do homework later. Definitely take her instead of Mercer!!
She is very helpful and as long as you attend/watch all of her lectures it should be an easy A/B. She goes over everything that is going to be on the exam during class and there are no surprises on her exams. She is by far the best MATH241 professor.
DONT TAKE MERCER. Bacuta prepare you better and makes the exams. lab and discussion arent very helpful but Bacuta is. UD Capture is very useful. Use the textbook. WebAssign is far harder than her quizzes or exams. I loved her. She really cares about her students. Favorite math professor I will ever have.
fabulous teacher. she goes through all new material in class and is willing to take as much time answering questions to make sure everyone understands the material as needed. she has a bit of an accent but her english is perfect and it is not difficult to understand her. she wants everyone to do well.
Go to lecture and the discussion sections has it is not only helpful but there are quizzes and occasional extra credit. Study hard, and though it is a tough class, word hard and you will get a good grade.
Really knows how to explain the material, and great at answering questions from students. Only slightly hard to understand.
Bacuta is great. She really cares about her students and wants them succeed. The class may seem tough at first, but it gets easier. I started out with an F but now I have an A. Go to her office hours and she will help!! Definitely take her for MATH241!!!
Bacuta is by far the best math professor in this department. Very clear cut and explains everything in the lecture. Take good notes and bring problems you have questions about to class and she will go over them. Little bit of an accent but not difficult to understand at all. Very kind hearted and funny at times, truely cares about students.
Bacuta is probably the best professor in the math department and ranks among the top at the university. She inspired me to switch to a math based major. Words cannot describe how helpful she is and how clear her lectures were. Tests are fair, but scores were the highest in her sections among other 241 professors. Definitely recommend.
She is one of the best in UD. Really know a lot about teaching. I feel really luck to be able to get her 243.
She is from Romania so has a little accent, but definitely knows her stuff. I was very happy with her this semester. You better not skip class though because you will regret it. The exams are hard and you need to put time and effort into the material in order to pass the class. She does offer help and will give extra points on WebAssign homework.
Great teacher! The TAs don't give feedback on the quizzes or tests, but if you go to her for anything she is more than happy to answer it. Do the webasign and you will ace the quizzes, and go to lectures because she does give great advice on how to solve problems. 1010 would take again.
Bacuta is great. She explains and writes every detail down on the board, which is really helpful. Go to office hours because they will help your grade a lot. Do well on WebAssign Homeworks because they will be grade boosters. Discussion quizzes with TAs are also easy. If you are decent at math and put in a little bit of work, an A or B isn't hard.
Bacuta is a great professor who truly does care about every students grades and how you understand the material. There are a ton of resources for the class. She is great for Calc 241, 242, 243.
If you show up for class, do the WebAssign homework, and study a decent amount for quizzes and exams, you will be fine in this class. She tells you what you need to know without too much unnecessary information.
In a semester where a lot of personal issues affected my studies, Professor Bacuta was truly my inspiration. Multivariable Calculus is a sometimes a difficult subject but if you go to lectures and practice problems, with her help you'll be able to make it. Best teacher i've ever had, without a doubt.
I loved taking calc with bacuta! She's awesome. I had her for 242 and 243, and I aced them both because of her. She has a slight accent, but her lectures are super clear and really convey the material. She's always willing to answer student questions. If you like math and are good at calc, you honestly don't need to go to class, you'll still ace it
Class is not very helpful all proofs few examples, learned and did well because of webassign. I was dissapointed. Go to discussion and do group work and disc quizzes! Lab is optional to go to. First exam is way harder than the second, chapter 16 sucks all around no matter what.
Bacuta is a good person, unfortunately, her lecture style for math is awful. She goes great lengths to define terms and honestly that't not going to help in 243. Does minimal examples so you have to really go through the textbook to understand the true math and not just words. Avoid her.
Bacuta is honestly amazing and really wants you to understand and succeed. I let my pride get in the way of reaching out to her for help, and I really regret that.
MATH243 was a tough course, but Bacuta made it bearable. She flew threw lecture notes, but luckily it was on course capture. Textbook is good for this course if you do not attend class. She is extremely caring and wants her students to do well. Lots of material crammed into this course, so getting ready to learn. Online homework was helpful.
Not the best lecturer, but definitely cares about her students and is readily available if anyone needs help. At first, I was intimidated by her because she's so curt, but she opened up to my class and started bantering playfully with some students during lecture. This lady is adorable, funny, AND a great prof. 10/10 would take again.
I loved taking math 351 with Bacuta. It is way better than calc 3 and you can tell she wants everyone in the class to do well. If you need help, go to office hours because it is very helpful. Quizzes are easy if you do some practice problems beforehand. Don't fall behind, so just make sure to do practice problems in the textbook!
Very nice lady! Easy hw quiz and exams.
Bacuta is awesome! She teaches clearly and if you have any misunderstandings she can definitely clear it up during office hours. The homework was lengthy but it was needed to practice all the topics thoroughly. Wish I could take another class with her!
Professor Bacuta is a solid professor overall. She is very passionate about teaching and really cares about each and every one of her students. Her lectures can be a little tough to get through as they are VERY note heavy. Quizzes and homework are meant to be grade boosters. Exams are tough and she definitely tests your knowledge on them.
Excellent professor. Probably the best math prof. at UD. Gives a reasonable amount of homework which actually prepares you for quizzes or exams. She gives quizzes fairly often and they are not difficult, but you may have to rush to finish in the short time given. Exams are not overly difficult and can be completed in the time given with no problem.
Definitely the best calc professor at UD and cares so much about her students. If you don't attend lecture you'll probably be so lost and behind but it happens too even when you do attend. the materials already hard enough but Dr. Bacuta makes it very manageable.
Dr. Bacuta is a lovely woman who clearly cares about her students success. She makes herself very accessible, in-person and email. That being said, this course is can be very hard due to the time constraint. There never seems to be enough time for the graded quizzes or group work. Do even optional work-- otherwise you won't be able to keep up.
Best math professor I have had. Really cares about the students and wants them to do well. Homework and exams are reasonable, if you go to class and do the homework, you should get an A.
Dr. Bacuta is a good professor and a nice person and she's willing to help. But I think that communication in this class was not the best because there was a lot of last minute changes in this class, which I understand because we were having classes remotely, but I think that some information could have been communicated better.
A great, kind professor who truly does want you to succeed and will help you in any way she can. MATH241 is a decently hard class so tests will be difficult but she gives out weekly quizzes so that will help your grade. Overall, just be sure to take notes in lectures and if you are having trouble understanding, RAISE YOUR HAND! She will help!
Definitely my favorite math professor so far. She genuinely cares and if you have any questions or if you're having trouble on the homework she will work the problems out for you. Her tests are exactly like the homework so if you understand the homework you should do well in the class.
By far one of the worst math classes I've taken at UD. The online lectures consisted of her scrolling through messy handwritten notes, and she also hosted live lecture where she did a couple of homework problems. There was very little actual instruction on how to tackle specific types of problems. We were just given formula and sent to the wolves
Dr. Bacuta made it easier to understand calc 3, which itself was easier than calc 2. Labs and homework due once a week, 3 exams and 4 quizzes, was relatively easy to get a good grade in the class.
Bacuta is a great professor who cares about her students. Her accent may make her a bit understand at first, but it's easy to get used to. She teaches all course concepts clearly and encourages students to ask questions. Weekly homework assignments given can be difficult but she is always happy to help, and they are great in preparing for exams.
She cares deeply for her students and will give you extensions on the homework. She tells you what to study for the exams and quickly responds to emails. She is really sweet and a good teacher. The content is difficult and you definitely have to put in the time and effort.
Prof. Bacuta was amazing! MATH243 is pretty easy if you study the homework and do some extra practice from the textbook. The problem sets were also very helpful. Overall, you can do well in the class if you study using the given resources.
she is so bad deserves a 0 but that option was not available. she is just not good or helpful this semester.
Bacuta is a terrible professor. She blows through material during lecture, is reluctant to answer more than a few questions during class, and grades very tediously which is annoying. Don't take her if you're looking for a professor that you can lean on as a friendly figure. Just overall a bad look.
Was misled by positive reviews of Bacuta! She taught Calc III with slideshows and memorized theorems, which did NOT work for me. Homework was long, but appreciated the 5-7 allowed attempts on WebAssign. Did poorly on exams, but homework and labs did add a slight cushion to my grade. Lectures put me to sleep. Failed several lecture quizzes, ouch.
Her lectures weren't always the most clear and sometimes you would have to re-teach yourself. However, she is very kind and will help you outside of class. She wants you to succeed. You just have to be willing to put in the work and study for exams. The exams are exactly like she says.
Good teacher. Although she seems a bit aggressive, she cares about her students and wants them to do well. She responds quickly to emails and questions outside of class. Exams are not too difficult, if you can do the homework on your own, you can do good on the exams. She uploads her lecture notes. Basically she gives you all the tools to do well.
Prof Bacuta was a great professor. She genuinely cared for her students and would answer any of the questions that were brought up during lecture. We had weekly homework problem sets due Sunday night that ranged from 10 problems to 25 problems but it was never too bad. Textbook was only used from extra problems and to see diagrams and graphs.
Much better as a Math352 professor than a Math243 professor. Appreciated when she started going through notes and example problems, rather than teaching math from a slideshow. Was easy to reach via email and understanding of extensions. Lectures are boring. Homework is tedious. Exams 2 and 3 come with equation sheets--very nice.
Prof. Bacuta was really nice to us and made us feel like she wanted us to succeed in her class. She gave out example problems before tests that were really similar to the actual thing, and she just had well laid out lectures that breaks down tough material. She turned a hard class into an easy A. 243 is a whole other story though...
Dr. Bacuta was amazing to have! She actually cares about how you do and goes out of her way to answer questions and make sure you understand the topics. Homework wasn't too bad, and it was only due once a week. Quizzes and Exams were short, and easy as long as you did and understood the homework. Lectures can be boring but are very informational.
Incredible teacher and super kind and caring for all of her students.
Dr. Bacuta is the best. She cares for her students and wants them to succeed. She encourages us to ask for help during quizzes and doesn't make us memorize a billion formulas like a lot of the math professors here. Go to class, her lectures are great, but she does record them. She's funny too and she'll probably roast you at least once
Best professor for 351.
Professor Bacuta cares so much about her students. She takes the time to get to know everyone by name, even if you do not go to her office hours. She goes above and beyond for her students to make sure they're prepared. She does write in cursive but if you are following along with her lecturing you shouldn't have an issue
Personally I really enjoyed this class. Professor Bacuta is really caring and if you show up to lecture you'll be able to follow along easily. She's very accessible if you are struggling though.
Professor Bacuta was an awesome professor! She made calc 3 as easy as possible by taking off time consuming problems, telling us what was and wasn't on the test, and being an extremely lenient grader. Her lectures were very good and she is a very caring professor.
Bacuta is a great professor for MATH243 but you will need to go to lecture and apply yourself. Her lectures are kind of boring but actually quite informative if you pay attention. She sometimes spends too long doing examples that are pointless. This class is just generally tough but she made it understandable and was very accessible in office hours
Hey, I'm not that great at Math-- it took me a long while to get the hang of 242, but come 243, Prof. Bacuta laid out what she and the course expect from you. You cannot get through this course if you do not take sufficient interest in what you learn in it, no matter your major. However, if you show up to lectures and have grit, you will do fine.
Bacuta's MATH243 class can be challenging, but engaging in lectures and using tools like Unstuck ai for practice makes it manageable. Expect regular homework, but Bacuta is accessible and cares about student success.
While always prepared for lectures, the lecture was always just her reading from slides, with no clear explanations, made assumptions that we knew trivial rules, and rarely gave any helpful examples. The only way to succeed in this class is to be able to memorize formulas and rules for each quiz and exam. There is a quiz almost every week.
Bacuta's lectures are painfully slow and boring. I understand that some people may need it to be able to catch up, but it is impossible for me to be able to pay attention for an entire hour. There was barely any participation besides the PollEverywheres, which hardly count. I had to teach myself a lot because that was easier than paying attention.
Dr. Bacuta was a good professor. Her lectures can be slow sometimes, but she presents the material fairly and has fair expectations of students. Her exams and quizzes are also pretty fair. I had a great TA and the discussion sections really helped my learning. She does have pop quizzes sometimes (twice lol) and does PollEv.
Professor Bacuta's lectures have a lot of information that most of it is theory, and you only really need bits of the lecture to be able to do the homework. The textbook is helpful. She provides almost exactly what the test will look like in review. She HATES talking and will give a pop quiz. Be ready for class attendance she does it very quick.
