Dr. De Meo strives to ensure that material is not merely memorized, but learned. She encourages questions, and feedback is welcomed. The material is not overbearing, and exams are representative of lectures and problem sets. Overall, she is a gifted professor who rewards hardworking students.

She has a passion for chemistry that shows. She is always willing to help students who ask and tries hard to gain interest in the subjects. Exams are representative of material covered in lecture and problem sets. This class is not difficult if you are willing to put in a slight amount of effort.

Demeo's class always brought a smile to my face. Not only were her classes educational, but her sense of humor always made biochemistry fun. She's extremely helpful to her students. A passing grade is easy to achieve if the student tries. However, the greatest thing about Dr. Demeo is that no matter how large her student list is she still learns

She truly knows her stuff and doesnt just tell you the answer she enforces the students to use their own insights and resources to discover things for themselves and you learn more from individuals with this mind set then those who just tell you the anwer. She will do anything to help her students and truly cares about the success of her students.

Dr. De Meo is one of the most wonderful teachers I have ever had. She will take as much time as needed to get the student to actually LEARN the topics...not just memorize them. She isn't easy, her tests are difficult...but her lectures are clear and she gives weekly homework that is immensely helpful.

Sweetest, most helpful woman teaching at SIUE. She makes extremely difficult topics seem easier for her students and always goes out of her way to make sure everyone is doing okay, even the ones who never attend any study groups or go to her office, like me!! hehe. Chrisitina De meo is a wonderful instructor. She's always there for her students and tries to make the best out of them. She had my interest at heart and led me in the right path. It's my second year in college and i've never seen an instructor that is so devouted to her students. Without her help, i know i would never have gotten an A in Organic C

Professor De Meo is very dedicated to her students and will go out of her way to help you. She had many study groups in addition to office hours which is VERY nice if you need some extra help. She really cares about her students and if they understand the material or not. I would definitely recommend taking her as a professor, she's great!

De Meo is wonderful. She expects you to work, but she lines out what you have to do to understand the material. DO THE PROBLEM SETS. Test questions are sometimes exact questions. Very helpful. If you stuck go see her. You'll do much better when she knows who you are. I loved her.

Decently easy class, only problem is you cant really mess up on more then one test since there are only 4 grades. 3 Tests and a final. If you make sure and to study and go to class everyday its relatively easy to get an A or B

This is a research lab, so it isn't a traditional lecture, but she is the best imo. She sets you up on your own projects and lets things well enough alone. As long as you can show that you are learning something and can apply it, you're doing well. :)

Dr. Demo is an AWESOME TEACHER! She is very nice and although her accent it a little coarse she will repeat anything if you ask her too. The material is hard but she will break it down for you as much as you need in and outside of class. If you work hard in the class and show her you've been trying she takes that into account. Love her!

Wow the best teacher I have ever had. She really looks to do everything that is the best for her students, which means moving the test back she will do it in a heart beat. She will work with you at any time, but beware she can smell out those who dont put in the effort and call you out. Great in her office hours SHE IS AMAZING!

Dr. De Meo is the best organic chemistry professor you'll find. If anyone on here is complaining about her it's because they were a bunch of slackers. She cares about her students so much by having problem sets, study sessions and office hours to give you all of the things you need to understand the material. Amazing professor.

Good teacher however her tests were like this: one section was worth anywhere from 30-70 pts. There is usually a multiple step problem, so if you make one tiny error and it carries through the other steps, you lose all the points. Unfair.I studied my ass off and knew the material better than most, but little things like this kept me from getting the grade I wanted. She will help you outside of class though. But know that SI was a joke. It needs to be taught by people who know how to teach.

Organic is a hard class in general,but Dr. De Meo is the best teacher around,she truly cares about her students and is the most helpful teacher.Those who wrote negative comments are just angry about their grade. I hated chemistry until I took this class.Yes, she has an accent, but she will gladly repeat anything u dont understand. Take her class!

She was a great professor and the best professor I've had so far. She really wants her students to learn the material to retain it, not just for the test. She Is very helpful and funny. The class may be a little difficult but if you put in a good amount of time and effort it'll be worth the grade you want

De Meo is one of the better Organic teachers. She wants you to do well so if you are struggling, talk to her. Some of her tests are hard, some are easy.. Overall, I thought De Meo was an okay professor, but I prefer Professor Lu's teaching style to her's.

De Meo is one of the best professors SIUE has to offer. Always in her office and as she always says "her door is always open" and she truly means it. Will do anything she can to help any students with anything. Very easy talk to.

Organic Chemistry isn't supposed to be easy! De Meo is engaging, helpful, and knowledgeable. She will challenge you every step of the way to learn the material. Exams are reasonable if you put in the effort! I thought her accent was perfectly fine and I'm not sure why a few disagree. Overall she's one of my favorite SIUE professors!

She is by far my favorite professor at SIUE! Its not an easy A but anyone is capable of getting one. Her office is always open and she has review sessions twice a week. I read the book and did all the review sheets and came out with an A with no final. Its not an easy class but lets be honest, its organic chemistry.

If you are looking for an easy A don't take her. I took her for both part A&B she ALWAYS has her door open, she has never turned a student away as once. She holds her on study sessions outside of class and SI. Her accent is thick, you have to put in work but it is worth it. She often focuses on what the MCAT, DAT, etc. will want. You must work hard

Great professor! Really knows her stuff and explains it so that it is easily understood. She provides powerpoints to follow along in class and provides multiple examples. I had not taken her for 241A so I had to adjust to her test format and grading at first, but I still ended up with an A.

Dr. DeMeo is by far one of my favorite professors at SIUE.I had her for both organic 1 and 2. I walked in not knowing anything about organic chemistry and walked out LOVING IT! Yes, it was a hard class but she breaks down what it takes to pass the first day of class. LISTEN TO HER! she's right!!

Dr. De Meo is an excellent instructor! Material is made fun and understandable, she is always willing to help and genuinely wants to see students succeed. She has an accent but it really doesn't effect lectures. 5 tests plus a final, but gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit that can replace the final or lowest test through quizzes.

Dr. De Meo is my favorite professor! She is understanding, clear, and helpful. She wants her students to learn the material and succeed. Her office door is always open! She posts notes before class and provides problem sets for extra practice. She holds her own study groups each week for extra help (very helpful!). Her class is fun and engaging!

Professor De Meo was a great organic chemistry professor. Although she can be hard to understand at times due to her heavy accent, it is nothing that you won't get used to. If you have ANY questions, her office door seemed to be permanently open. Ask for help if you need it so you don't get behind. I would definitely recommend this professor!

The class is difficult simply because of the nature of Organic Chemistry, but De Meo is one of the best professors you will ever have! She is ALWAYS available for help outside of class and she really cares about her students. There is no homework. Grades are based on tests only, but she offers extra credit and is clear about what you need to know.

She is my favorite professor I have ever had. She explains things clearly as possible and truly wants you to do well. She even leads her own study groups outside of class in addition to SI. Funny, soooo nice if you go see her for help, which she tries to be as available as possible. It was my favorite class and made me fall in love with chemistry!

De Meo is by far the best Organic professor. She is the only one on campus that truly cares for her students and will work with them until they succeed. Others fail their students compared to her. She is pretty funny and wants to push you so you learn, but won't let you fall through the cracks if you do put in some effort, as it is a hard subject!

Dr. De Meo is a very caring professor. She genuinely wants her students to succeed and is willing to help them out in anyway possible. She demonstrates her extensive knowledge, and she is also bilingual which is very impressive. She goes to great lengths to help her students as long as they communicate with her effectively. Communication is key.

I took CHEM 351 online in the summer with Dr. De Meo. She is incredibly knowledgeable in the topics that she teaches and will go out of her way to make sure you succeed. However, this is by no means a blow off class. She pushes her students to truly understand the material she teaches rather than memorize it, which is reflected in her exams .

It is extremely hard to find personable professors and she definitely makes you feel right at home. She moves at a pace that is relatively easy to follow and she makes sure that everyone has a clear understanding of the material before proceeding. I highly recommend taking advantage of all resources she has to offer and orgo wont be that difficult.

Dr. De Meo is probably the best professor I've ever had. She's super caring and always responds quickly to questions and is really available outside of class. She even comes in on Saturdays or Sundays to hold study sessions with students. Half of my class had to be online due to the coronavirus but even with that she was super helpful. I recommend!

De Meo is approachable and caring. Her accent can be a bit tricky but its nothing you cant work around. Shes an easy grader who understands that chemistry is hard. Show that you care and youll get the grade you want.

Amazing professor in all regards. Dr. De Meo truly cares for her students, but ensures proper education of this course, providing plenty of opportunities and chances in order to pass. She truly understood the difficulties of COVID online classes. My only complaints are unclear feedback after tests and the use of Microsoft Teams during the course.

Dr. De Meo is one of my favorite professors at SIUE! I've had her for two classes and I'd take more with her if I could! For this class specifically, there were only four people so she was really relaxed with due dates and was willing to move around exams if there were other things going on. Great teacher!

Best professor at SIUE. She cares about her students and will help you outside of class. She goes above and beyond to make sure everyone understands and will slow down if you ask her. I will be taking her again if I can. The only issue is her accent but after a few weeks you don't seem to notice it anymore.

She is a kind and accessible teacher. However, I felt her lectures stunk compared to her ppt videos. I would have to watch around 120 of her videos and do many practice ?s each week to learn the material. SI did help, but only if you already kind of understood material. 5 quizzes, 5 exams, and a final (can get out of final). Overall a lot of work!

She is AMAZING! No homework, 3 in-person quizzes, 4 online quizzes, 4 tests, and then the final. She offers points at the end of each test that can replace the final. So accessible and cares deeply about the students. If you ever need ANYTHING, just message her. She offers extra credit throughout the semester and explains everything very well!

Dr. De Meo is an absolute queen. I took this course as a visiting student during the summer and don't normally go to SIUE, but she is one of the most caring and accessible professors I have ever had the pleasure of being taught by in my college career. She emphasizes learning as a process and stresses not to rely on memorization. 10/10.

The material is difficult, but Dr. DeMeo cares about getting students to learn it. She doesn't expect you to memorize and regurgitate things on the test. She cares more about the overall understanding of the material. It was a tough class, but I would take it again with Dr. DeMeo. Set aside time to watch the lectures and do practice problems!

Dr. De Meo is the best professor I have ever had. I took organic chemistry with her Spring 2023 and loved it. She held study sessions once a week on zoom, offered to meet one on one if anyone was struggling, and offered extra credit at the end of every exam. She truly cares that her students understand the material and that they succeed. 10/10!

I had a hard time understanding De Meo as she has an accent. She is caring and wants everyone to succeed. If you don't understand the material go to tutoring, see De Meo or your SI leader and they should be able to help. I didn't take action soon enough leaving me behind on course material and failing two exams to withdrawal from the class.

De Meo is one of the best teachers I have ever had. You can tell she genuinely cares about her students and how they are doing in her class. She would have study groups on teams to prepare you for the tests and always make sure you were feeling confident with the material. If you have the option to take a class that she teaches take it!

Orgo I is a difficult class, and I don't think her teaching style really worked for me, but she was nice and helped if needed. I will be taking her semester and love her!
