This class was one of my favorites. Lori is new to BCC, so I guess that's why there aren't many comments, but she is one of my fav professors I've had so far. Lots of discussion, activities make class interesting. She will change your way of thinking, opening your mind. Cares a lot about students and helps you do well.

I am taking Lori's SOC 262 (Race and Ethnicity) course and I would highly recommend it. I am learning so much in this class and although there is a lot of reading I don't think there is any busy work. Her teaching style is awesome and I love how comfortable I feel in her class. She's cool, so definitely take classes from her!

Lori is an awesome teacher! Her lectures are really insightful and she asks the class for a lot of input and examples, which aren't really hard to think of concerning societal issues. The class activies are fun and she really listens to what her students wants/needs are. I definitely recommend having her as your sociology teacher! (:

Honestly, Lori is my favorite teacher that i have ever had. This class changed my perception of the world. Her insightfulness and amazing lectures/discussions will literally affect me for the rest of my life. This lady is absolutely amazing, you must take a class with her.

Lori's Race and Ethnicity class is such an eye-opening class, a class that I reccomend to everyone! Not only will you learn a lot about race (extrememly intersting), you will get the experince of a fun education that you can't get else where! Excellent teacher, exams are surprisingly difficult if you don't keep up w/ daily readings. Also, make sure you show up to class and ask her specific questions on the field work assigns.include vivid examples and real life applications (she loves those). All in all she is an excellent teacher, she will give you whatever it is you want in the class

One of the best profs at BC. Always happy and friendly. Lots of fun group activities that really contribute to the learning. Notes on the two tests, so they were a breeze. Very happy I took this class with her.

She is the best professor ever! You learn so much new information about things you though you knew about. If you need help, just ask her. She's really friendly and is always in a good mood. I would reccommend for anybody to take this class if they are willing to have an open mind about all kinds of subjects. :)

She's one of the best professors at BC! I've been going here for 4 years and so I've experienced a professor or two, and Lori is one of my absolute, all time favorites. She teaches by discussion and not just by lectures so everyone is included, she is smart, interesting, loves to chat, and seriously KICKASS!! You won't regret this class!!

Saffin is great teacher. She has a passion for teaching Sociology. She is alway on time. She will ask you to write a notecard for each article everyday. It is a good way to push me to study and read. These notecard are also useful for exams. There are 2 exams which are not open book, but we can use any handwrite note and handout.

She's cool and easy going. You'll never be bored in her class. She only taught with powerpoint presentation twice bc she prefers to teach getting the whole class involved. dont get behind in your homework (notecards) though. They can really get to you at the tests. Make sure to do the notecards and also attend class.

Awesome teacher and learning environment. You have reading to do most every night but generaly only around 10 pgs. The note cards you generate from the readings can be used during tests along with your terms sheets. She is more concerned that you grasp the concepts than memorize a bunch of crap you'll forget. Treats you like an adult.

A ton of reading, but very worth it! The class rocked. Lori is an awesome lady and I can't wait to take more of her classes next quarter.

Honestly, just go to class and do your homework and you'll get an A. As long as you pay attention in class and understand what's really going on in our society you'll understand the class. But you HAVE to go to class. Everything is in the lecture. You'll learn a lot. Very interesting, so you'll remember what you learn.

I just came back to BC to visit Lori and she encouraged me to post my thoughts on her classes. I am now at UW and had her for Queer Studies and Men and Masculinities last year. Professor Saffin kicks ass but she also kicks your ass. class is fun and i am learning so much about sex and sexuality. tests are hard and she does expect alot. there is also lost of readings. but it is worth it!!

Prof Saffin is a wonderful instructor. She knows how to create an interactive, practical and engaging environment for her students. She expects a lot from you, yet as long as you do your homework, notecards and pay attention in the lectures => straight A. Best instructor ever!

Lori has had such a positive impact on my education. She made me feel like I can matter in the world and that I could make a difference. I actually learned in this class. I am becoming a better writer and am going to use the notecards in my other classes. They really work!

Lori is the best teacher I have EVER had. That's not joke. There is a lot of work in her class but it is all worth it and you actually learn something. I had no interest in Sociology but she has changed that. I never really see myself missing a day. She speaks from experience and makes sense about everything. I wish i could write more about Lori!

She is the best teacher I have ever had. At first if you were a closed minded person like me, you'll tend to not buy in anything she says. But at the end her teaching makes a really good point. Her study guides are vague, but go to class and listen to her examples and you'll do fine. Fun class.

Lori is excellent; lectures are relevant, informative, current & on-track w/schedule. Because much of your grade is based on the discussions, activities, and note cards attendance is mandatory. The rest of the grade: 2 Papers, 5 quizzes, 2 exams -short essay and multi-choice. Don?t be fooled by her multiple choice questions, they are tricky!

Lori seems to care very much about making sure her students understand the subject at hand. She is adept at inspiring students to critically think about the world and the social structures around them. All with great energy and a sense of humor.

Lori is a pretty hard teacher, and gives you next to no time to complete quizzes and tests. If you tend to skip class alot, this class isn't for you. Lori doesn't like it when you don't agree with her opinon, and I've gotten yelled at a couple times beacue of it.

Great teacher, the best I have ever had at BC. She made sociology awesome for me, and taught it in the best way possible. Classes are discussion not lecture, and she spends most of the time asking the class questions and letting you learn at your own pace. I have taken many online classes and Lori is a breath of fresh air. She is so completely organized. Everything is laid out clearly. What I am loving most is how active she is in the online classroom. She is there answering questions and participating in teh discussions. Most of my other online teachers are never there. Highly recommend.

Attendance is important, but you'll find yourself wanting to come to class. Lori is one of the best teachers I've ever had! She's helpful and clear about what she expects from you; her biggest thing is participation. Come to class with something to say and she will like you. She has great energy and makes the material very interesting. Great class!

Lori is a phenomenal professor! She's understanding yet firm, and makes learning FUN instead of, as she would say, just sitting around regurgitation information. I would suggest her to anyone! Sociology is not my favourite subject by any means, and I was honestly dreading taking it, but I am so glad I did know that I had her to teach me!

Lori Saffin is GREAT. She is really interested in her subject and makes it interesting for her students too. You do have nightly homework but all it is is reading a chapter of the book and making notes on an index card. She then lets you use the index card on her tests which is AWESOME. I loved her class and would definitely take her again.

Lori is a gifted instructor and knows how to keep students attention. One HUGE problem she has is that she shuts down anyone that has a different opinion/political view. At on point a couple other students and I were yelled at in class not for doing anything wrong or for being disrespectful, but for having different views. I would not recommend her

Lori is awesome and helps you do good. Do the notecards. I got a bad grade on my first exam because I did not do them. I started doing them and got a A- on my final exam. I am going to do these in my other classes. It works. She is encoureging and opens your eyes up to many things.

AMAZING TEACHER! There is a reading every night but it's not hard at all, expect regular quizzes (not hard either) the quizzes are short and easy. Study key terms and you will do just fine on the tests and quizzes. TAKE HER CLASS. She is vibrant and a very fun teacher! All you have to do is study key terms and the class will be a breeze!

Words cannot express how much I love Lori - she's the best teacher I've ever had, ever, and one of the coolest people I've ever met. She loves bullet points and lets you use notecards on all tests, final included. She knows what it's like to be a student, and she's great for it. Every time she stops for breath, I feel like applauding.

Lori is by far the best teacher I have had at BC. She lets you knew her exact expectations the first day. You have to write one paper and you can choose between eleven prompts. She replied to emails quickly, she was knowledgable of the subject, and she was extremely clear. Take her class!!!

I have taken 3 classes with Lori and she does everything to help students. She typed up her notes, gave review sheets, and is trying to help our class get through. She changed the syllabus to help us. I don't know of many teachers who would do that. Lori pushes us but helps us too. I am taking another class with her in Fall because she's great.

LORI IS THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. By far the best professor I have ever had, and now that I've transferred to a four-year university I appreciate them so much more. I never felt like skipping a class, and I always felt welcome in all spaces created. I can't think of a better professor to take classes with.

Probably one of the most interesting classes that I have ever taken! There is a reading assignment for each night but they aren't that bad, and some of the assignments that she gives us are pretty fun to do. I would definitely recommend this class and instructor!

Croix (Lori) is literally the best professor at BC. She cares for her students, & is so chill with everything. I've never been bored in this class, & she makes me wish that all professors at BC taught like her. She doesn't do boring powerpoints, but instead she engages with the whole class, shows video clips, do fun activities, & is overall perfect

She is very energetic, very interactive, very approachable. She's just awesome. Just don't be that guy that argues with everything. If you are disrupting the flow of class for minute point, repeatedly, you're going to piss her off. Also, she's trans and totally fine with talking about it. If you have a problem with that, she'll help you fix that.

Lori is honestly the best professor (& teacher even) that I have ever had. She is absolutely hilarious & her lectures are fun and enjoyable. I was iffy about taking sociology, but now, I would go out of my way to take one of her classes again.

Lori is awesome, she has a great personality, however she is very biased against male and females. If you are a guy, you are going to have to sit through lectures that bash on men because we are considered "predator" and harm women and etc. Not fun listening to her babble on and on about how women are mistreated, however she is very energetic.

Lori was by far the best professor I've ever had. You do have to read every night and make a notecard with the key terms from the reading, but it's not much. Her lectures are always interesting and she genuinely wants everyone to do well. She takes attendance randomly 10 times and her tests are mostly essay questions with a few multiple choice.

Love Croix! He's an amazing speaker and easy to connect with outside of class too. We did nightly notecards but I didn't mind them as he is pretty free form in how students complete assignments and tests.

This was my 3rd class I've taken with Croix - I'd definitely take another if I needed one for credits. Very helpful, answers questions in a timely manner, along with grading (gives feedback). He gives review sheets with everything on the exams which is very helpful. I took this over summer so it was on your own time, manageable workload.

BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD! Croix explains ideas and details perfectly and is incredibly helpful if you still don't get it. Very personable, understanding and accepting of most ideas and views! SPEAK UP IN CLASS! Croix wants to know everything you have to say! First teacher to actually care about your silly opinion - Everyone is important!

Croix is awesome. took his class fall 2015. tests and quizzes are clear. class is engaging. gives you reading assignments at beginning of quarter in syllabus so you can catch up or go ahead. do need to do daily notecards on readings, but allowed to use them on tests and quizzes.

Croix is an amazing teacher. If you do the notecards and reflection paper and participate in activities you will pass with an A. Do not skip

I low key would take all of my classes with Croix if I could. Croix's classes are so interesting I wish they were not just an hour a day. The way the classes are set up are intriguing and keep you coming back for more. I honestly feel like I have learned more this quarter than I have in a long, long time. I HIGHLY recommend. HW isnt too bad either

I love Croix. Favorite professor of all time. Most understanding, flexible and all around best person I know. Even though he gives out a fair amount of homework it's always clear what's expected and it's nothing hard. AND you can use all the homework you do on his finals and midterms. He gives the most interesting lectures. Take his class. trust me

Croix's passion really shows through his teaching. He makes sure you understand his content and is always wiling to lend help. He's very organized and flexible. The grading in class is clear and it's nice that he regularly updates your grade on canvas. You'll be fine as long as you keep up with homework and attend class.

Croix makes sure students understand the material, ask students what they need, makes the learning environment positive, and keeps you busy with home work (readings/videos, reflection papers, and many notes). He's one of my favorite teachers and I enjoy being in class everyday.

He is very interactive and wants you to enjoy learning. I would most defiantly take him again! Although his exams he can be a pretty tough grader. There were only two exams and he graded my first exam pretty harsh, which brought my grade down. Show up to class because it helps and it is apart of your grade! Overall very approachable and friendly!

Professor Saffin inspired me to be the best student I can be. All his lectures are mind blowing. There is a substantial amount of reading, but honestly every social science class does. As long as you read the textbook there is no way you could possibly fail this class. One of the best ever!

Croix is an AMAZINGG professor. His lectures are interesting, fun, and the content of the course is just something you can use throughout your life. This was probably the best class I have ever taken.; and its all thanks to this professor. He is a nice and caring person, and is always there for you whenever you are having trouble with anything.

Croix is amazing there are readings everyday but they are discussed in class the next day to further your understanding, he is extremely helpful and understands that life happens, Croix is great and cares about the students and their success is an easy grader if you do the work you get full credit. Best professor I've ever had easy. He's utterly hilarious, bounces around the class saying "Mmk" the whole period, he's just a general riot. Plus he actually teaches you well and makes you think about stuff. Yeah there's hw everyday but it's not hard and neither are the projects tbh.

Everyone should take sociology and I'm thankful to have a professor like Croix, he is an amazing lecturer, so entertaining. Easy A but very time-consuming class. Expect a lot of reading & notes. He is very understanding, gives you quick feedback. His lectures are amazing, and clear. Books are not mandatory to buy, you can borrow it for 2 hours from library. Al l the reading he chose for this class was very easy to read. Very fun environment to study

I have never met a professor who is so caring, passionate, compassionate, and just a good person. Class is fun! Wish I could take 100 more classes.

This is the only class I really look forward to going to. Prof Saffin is very passionate about lectures and keeps the class engaged. I've never seen a class so awake and active in class before. I would take him again if my career was more focused to sociology/ women studies. I've learned so many great things that I'll use for the rest of my life.

Croix makes my heart feel. I left class everyday with something that I talked about with my parents or friends. He is fair and gives you every opportunity to do good. I would recommend for sure.

If you come to class & pay attention you will do fine. I did a hybrid so we had to read a chapter ever 3 days, the text book is easy to read. You must turn in notes but they can be any kind or you can just copy the summary for easy credit but this will come back to bite you on quizes. There is a midterm and a final, final all stuff after midterm

I never thought sociology class can be that awesome. I look forward everyday to learn something new, this class was eye-opening. I thought I became lot more wiser after taking this class. I love his examples and class activities.

Croix is the best professors, he is very helpful, very easy to access. And always wants students to have more interesting discussion in class. I felt this class helped me grow as a person. I had best spring qtr.

Croix is such an amazing teacher! He makes his lectures super interesting and lets us use all of our notes from the homework on the tests and quizzes.

His syllabus is incredibly well set up. He plans out the whole quarter in the syllabus. We have readings almost everyday and then speak about them extensively in class. When we discuss the chapters, he takes dense concepts and puts them into current events that make them easier to understand and more applicable.

Doctor Croix 's class is very organized, There are 5 quizzes, last one has 5 short answer questions, the rest of them are multiple choice questions. The hardest thing in his class will be you have to read everyday, and you have to hand in your reading notes to him to be able to get your note points. Fortunately, he is not a tough grader.

Mr. Saffin is an awesome teacher. He makes sure to go in depth on every subject we learn in class, and he also allows notes on tests, which encourages students to learn more about the subject rather than memorizing facts.

Croix Saffin is a great instructor in that he is very engaging in class and makes class time very engaging and fun. I would however beware of the fact that he has some controversial opinions that he tends to like to talk about in class so beware of that. There are only 2 exams the whole quarter and you can use your notes! Overall a great instructer

Croix is absolutely amazing & the best professor I've ever had! You have to do a lot of reading & homework in the class, but it's worth it as you will learn so much from him & his lectures. He is an incredible person with the biggest heart. I've also taken SOC253 & 256 & hope to take all his classes. You will leave his class every day inspired.

Professor Saffin is an incredibly amazing professor. I was always tired during his class but I didn't fall asleep once since his lectures are very interesting. Tests/quizzes are easy if you take the homework notes and pay attention in class. He offers extra credit near the end as well so I ended the class with a perfect 100%. He is respectful too.

Croix is a wonderful professor and person. I love this subject but this class made me love it more. Lectures are entertaining and helpful so you should pay attention in class. Tests/quizzes are reasonable if you do the homework notes. He has a syllabus with a schedule for the whole quarter which lets you work ahead and get things done. Great class.

I wish Criox was around when I was in high school. This is finally a teacher who knows how to teach and keeps students attentions. He makes learning easy and on the tests i remember all the things that he talks about. He helps the student and talks with them in ways that makes sense for sociology. I will take more classes for sure.

I took Sociology 101 with Prof Croix and I had a great experience. There is reading every night, with a discussion the next day. A couple of other assignments here and there. Can only miss a few classes or your participation grade will drop. I'd recommend this class to anybody, you'll rethink your way of looking at society for the better.

LOVE LOVEE CROIX! He is by far the best teacher Ive ever taken! He genuinely cares about his students and their learning, theres a lot of readings but they are so worth it and very relevant to the lectures.

By far my favorite teacher Ive ever had. I took sociology with Croix and the way he teaches really makes you think about the world and he makes the content so easy to understand. This class isnt boring at ALL and he also does not cold call students which I loved but he does loves when students participate. I would take another class with him.

I am thinking about my whole life in a different way because of this class and instructor. Genuine, caring, sensitive, and makes you think. Is available to talk out of class. Game changer.

Great teacher, lectures are just him talking but its interesting and he tries to get you to participate in the discussion (you don't have to/not graded on that. 5 open note quizzes, 2 online open note tests including the final. Daily HW but its not that hard, he only grades 10 of the notes. Write down textbook definitions and the notes on the board

Overall cool teacher. Learned a ton, however the class got a bit repetitive. Coming to class is key. Grades really hard on tests which are quite long and will usually drop your grade (only two of them).

Makes lectures very entertaining, and they're normally based on the notes you have to do the night before. All tests and quizes you can use your notes so TAKE NOTES He randomly chooses days to grade notes so always make sure you do them. Only have 2 tests for the whole quarter and usually a quiz every week.

The homework was reading and taking notes every night. There are some written short responses sometimes. All the quizzes, tests and exams are open note. There is a midterm and a final. Both are open note and are NOT cumulative. His personality is great. He got us thinking and talking to our partners immediately the first day.

I'm taking a second class from Croix, since I think he's one of the most talented and passionate teacher I've had in my life. He is a GREAT teacher, and I have no idea how he is commented as "awful" or "unaccepting," because all I saw through the past several months in his class was acceptance of various opinions. Take him, he will teach you stuff.

Croix is the best professor I've ever had. He is such an understanding person and he makes the class interesting because he's clearly passionate about the subject. He takes time outside of class to meet and discuss class work or any other topic. The homework is easy for this class and it's an easy A as long as you pay attention and participate.

I haven't taken very many college classes since I'm doing running start but I learned more in this class than in all of my high school classes total. Highly recommend Sociology and Croix. Great teacher and inspiring class. Wants students to participate a lot. Lots of energy.

Croix is an extraordinary professor. I have taken 3 classes with him and I learned so much from every single class. You can tell Croix genuinely cares about his students and the information he presents. Not only that but in every class I've taken with Croix I noticed how much the class bonded which made the learning environment so welcoming.

Croix was always excited and energetic every time he stepped into the room to teach a class. I could tell he truly loved his job. I enjoyed all of the readings, and learned a lot. Class became a bit too ranty and conversational at time, but overall the class was great :)

It is definitely worth going out of your way to take this professor for one of his classes. The downside of his class is that it's often full of running start high school students that couldn't care less about the class, so he often panders to them. But is still a great teacher and works hard to make sure everyone knows the material.

Online class very organized and structure set up so it was easy to understand and not stressful. Croix took time to give feedback on every assignment. Class was relevant and thorough. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Croix is honestly a great professor. He is very clear how the assignments work, their order, and the grading process. There were a TON of assignments due each week but if you dont wait until the weekend to start them you should be ok with 1-2 hours of HW each night. He asks you to submit chapter notes each chapter for credit which is key.

Croix is an outstanding and passionate teacher. And hella funny. Class is discussion and not lecture and pretty fun. Just make sure you do the readings for tests. Take notes and participate in class .

I legit love Croix. He is the BEST teacher you will ever have. He's energetic but always makes sure that everyone understands the content, so don't be afraid to ask questions! Class participation isn't *mandatory* but there are 10 in class assignments that are done in small groups and a fun discussion question every day!

Great professor. I didn't agree with some of his more controversial views/thought they were a stretch in relation to kids but everyone can have opinions so this is okay. His class was fun and the readings were so interesting I loved almost all of them. It's obvious he loves what he does and he is overall just amazing! I HIGHLY recommend this class.

I loved Croix, he was amazing! I know the most complaints he gets is that he is very left leaning, but that's what makes his race class good. He's honest about the state of the world and he understands where people get conservatives views about. The assignments are introspective, and he's willing to help out with basic college guidance.

Where do I even begin? He honestly makes his students day every class. He comes in and asks the weirdest questions like "Is a hotdog a sandwich?" to get you started talking to your peers while he prepares for the start of class. His lectures are amazing and NEVER BORING! 11/10 recommend if you want a fun, easy A class!

The lectures given by Croix were really fun and informative. I enjoyed going to class and felt like I really learned something new after each class instead of zoning out the whole time. If you pay attention in class the homework is really easy. Taking notes is part of the homework which helps on tests.

Croix is one of the best professors on campus! Attendance is mandatory because his lectures get kind of heavy at times. Everything discussed in class is what is on the exams and quizzes. The way he teaches the material really drills into your head so make sure you pay attention in class! Homework is taking notes of the chapter.

Croix is probably the best teacher at BC. He makes every day so much fun and really engages with students in his lectures. If you get the chance to take any of his classes you will have the best quarter! BEST PROFESSOR EVER!! Fall 2019 was my first quarter in college and I am sooo happy I took this class! I actually looked forward to going to his class every day. He is super fun, and gets you very excited and engaged in his lectures. It was more like I was going to kick it with him every day! Whatever you do defiantly TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!

Mr. Saffin is a nice pro. Although sometimes his discretion is not clear, he is very friendly and glad to answer your questions. His quiz and assignments are extremely easy. As long as you spend time reading the textbook, this is will be an easy A for you.

Pretty much a lot of reading. And small tedious assignments that make you think about our society. You have a midterm and a final. The Final is on what you learned post-midterm. I would take this again and I hope to take more classes from him. A bit of more homework than others, but easy compared to University.

Croix Saffin is by far the best prof I have ever had. All the assignments are easy as long as you do the reading. You will need a textbook, but it is very worth it. The author of the textbook makes it fun to read! He also responds quickly to emails. Lectures are awesome. Multiple choice can be a little hard sometimes, otherwise easy tests/quiz's!

I took sociology with this professor for an elective credit. There is a lot of reading that is expected of you. Assignments for the online class I took were due on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays but they were all fairly easy. He was super nice, I once turned in an assignment 3 days late and he gave me full credit. I would take his class again

Writes feedback on all your assignments and quizzes/tests. Requires participation in discussions. He has weekly notes from chapters in the textbook. Each week is the same schedule, which makes it easy to have a weekly routine.

I've taken SOC 150 and 101 from Professor Saffin and both were great. If you do the work you'll get a good grade. The only thing was that the readings that we have to take notes on can be very long and boring but besides that they were great courses.

One of my favorite professors at BC, great attitude during class and an easy grader. Just do the assignments and you will 100% pass with an A.

I really appreciated the structure of Professor Saffin's courses. I took more than one (whiteness study and Queer studies) and am planning on taking one more before transferring. Due dates and expectations are clear and consistent and the course work is engaging, informative, and unique.

Professor Saffin's class is very reasonable. Anyone can get an A as long as you do the work and put enough effort in them. The workload is a lot but it definitely helps you with the exams. You can use your notes in the exams, and he provides a study guide for the exams. There are two exams. A lot of note-taking and reading.

The content of this class is challenging and it gave me valuable information both personally and professionally. I grew a lot over the quarter and am grateful for that. This is an important class that needs to be taken.

OMG, I love Croix! They give thoughtful feedback on every assignment and genuinely try to help you understand topics. The content they picked for the class is super interesting and they grade/answer emails quickly! Tests are open-note and you have plenty of time to complete them. I've never experienced such a warm, welcoming class environment!

Croix is AMAZING! I loved this class. Learned so much about queer history and activism and talked about really cool queer topics. Really organized class with everything clearly laid out each week. Wish I could have taken this class in person. Definitely recommend this professor.

Chill class. There's so much reading around 25-50 pgs. As long as you read the chapters, the tests(quizzes) should be easy. You have to take a lot of notes and turn them in for points. I think assignments are based on completion so no need to worry about if it's right or wrong. Assignments are assigned 3 times a week.

She was nice and very helpful. A lot of discussion assignments and note taking. The assigned reading is really long but you can skim it.

Assignments are due M, W, F but they are easy; most are notes for videos/readings. Very long readings (the book & class is very liberal fyi). Discussions are easy; based on your opinion so you don't need to research for answers. There are 5 quizzes; consists of 5 MC & 3 short answer Qs each. Gives 100% for assignments as long as you put in effort.

Professor Saffin assigns a reading every week that ranges from 30 to 50 pages (do make sure to plan accordingly as it is very dense) and you are quizzed on each chapter (though they are very easy). Notes are required and professor Saffin does post lecture videos that helped a lot (also he does not accept late assignments or give extensions).

Do the assignments properly and you'll get an A. Easy class but learned a lot too- fairly enjoyable! Would take again.

Croix Saffin was truly the best teacher I've ever had. He made learning Sociology so much fun and easy to understand. Has super engaging lectures and loves participation, but won't cold call on people. If you take notes, read the content and do the hw, you will ace all the tests and quizzes because they are open note. Super inspiring professor.

Hands down best professor out there. Not only is the class incredibly easy to succeed in but Croix has such a bubbly and inspirational personality that makes every class tons of fun. Extremely caring and funny. I genuinely looked forward to coming to class and participating in the discussions so much that the work felt like a side quest.

OMG I cannot express how much fun I had/how much I learned in this class! Croix is someone I'd recommend to anyone. They're passionate about the content and genuinely care about their students. We had to write 200 word summaries on readings 2 times a week, but the work was super easy. Just submit everything on time and attend class. You'll love it.

Croix was honestly the best teacher I have ever had, the classes don't use powerpoint but a lot of engagement, without feeling forced to, safe environment, clear about expectations, not much homework, took away a lot of new knowledge and definitely want to take another of their classes

I absolutely loved Professor Croix's class. Such a caring and sweet professor. I had some personal problems in the middle of taking this class and missed a lot of assignments, but Professor Croix was very understanding and let me make them all up. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!!

You have to post a video of urself every week talking about something for 4 mins. I know that sounds bad but honestly I learned so much from this course and it was really interesting watching other's vid discussions. The midterm and final are just an essay where you talk about what u learned etc. An easy A if you put in the effort!
