Good teacher. Do not take if you completly do not understand Biology. You have to study to do well in his class, but he will help you know the material.

great teacher. the class is hard but he strives to make sure you understand. uses amusing examples and stories to go along with the material. however, lab is his area. he is a great lab teacher as well. make sure you use the time he gives you in lab wisely, and ASK QUESTIONS!

Great instructor, wants students to learn. It is biology so you must study hard but if you need extra help he will help you if you ask.

appalled by some of the reviews. aparently you people haven't had a bad instructor. he is a great one. stories help reinforce material. print out slides and take notes in class and STUDY them. Lab is his bread and butter. goes over all objectives

you can't confuse the professor with the class. anatomy and physiology is a dry subject anyway, but Outz makes a point to try to make the material tolerable. don't assume that the class will be easy, it's definitely a lot to take in and it's really fast paced, but it's prep work for 211. Outz knows what he's talking about! loved the class!

If you look at all the reviews, you can tell who the obnoxious little jerks were. I absolutely love this class. I have never really cared for Biology, but Mr Ouzts made this a very enjoyable class. I would definately recommend him!

His anatomy classes are pretty tough. The study guides don't really help. He is a nice and helpful person, though.

I took bio 210 with Mr. OUZTS and passed with a B and made absolutly sure I took him for 211- HE IS AWESOME!!! A&P are difficult classes but he makes it a lot easier and uses good examples-ask questions! He will answer 100x if he needs to. He always asks how we learned info in lab to ensure they coinside. All I can say is GREAT GREAT GREAT-!!!!!!!

Mr Ouzts is wonderful teacher! i took him for 210 and got an A and am taking him again for 211. you dont need the textbook, just study the powerpoints. he makes things easy to understand. but dont get me wrong it is still a very hard class and you have have have to study hard.

Took his online class. The assignments and online test extremely easy. Now, when you go in to take your test - study the powerpoint he has you go over. The test are extremely hard and you have to read!!!

He is hard but fair. I took his class online and made a D and I just took it again but on campus and made a B+. It really made a difference to take it in person. Study the powerpoints and do the study guides. I really liked him the 2nd time around. I would take his class again. Print off the powerpts and take notes on them for class. It helps a lot

Outz is a really good teacher but he isnt going to just hand you the info.You have to study the powerpoints,plus YOU ARE THERE TO LEARN,not for someone just to hand you an A!He uses examples that are helpful& always ready to help.If you have a hard time with A&P, take him. I had him for 210(online)&211(inclass).Loved him &felt his grading is fair!

Professor is incredible! Took him for 210 as well as 211. Granted I had to work hard for my A in his class (especially in his 211) but definitely worth it! He challenges you to think and gives you much of the material. Definitely take him if you want to learn!

You people out there use that word...COMPLAIN to the dept. chair...too much! Grow up! It's A&P and it's difficult! Mr. Outz is an awesome professor! Don't criticize him for teaching you how to be an independent learner. BTW, dept. chairs don't take such complaints about professors' pacing seriously!

this class is hard but he is a pretty good teacher if you study and put in the effort you can come out with a good grade. he does like to joke around sometimes but will get mad if you are laughing at him or gives you weird looks if no one is laughing.

Outz is awesome!! The class is very tough but, he works hard to make sure you get what you need to be successful in class and on the test. I'd recommend him above most.

For those complaining about him A. This class is made to weed out those who can't handle a real college course. B. don't take 210 or 211 online if your not willing to really study or teach yourself. C. He is one of the best AnP professors. He relates the topics well and makes lecture go by fast. Hope I get him for 211.

Bio 211 is just as difficult as 210. Mr Outz is easy to like and welcomes class questions. His lecutures are interesting, he goes above and beyond in his teaching. Uses really good power points. Test questions come mostly from lecture and power points but test questions can seem tricky as they involve lots of critical thinking problems.

Yes, this is a difficult class but Mr. Ouzts is one of the best instructors for the material. Yes, the test questions are difficult but the material requires a great deal of understanding hence the critical thinking questions. It isn't just about memorization. If you have questions he will spend the time needed to explain. He is a great teacher.

I had Mr. Outz for BIO 210 & 211. This is far from an easy course it does take alot of studying to understand the material. Do not try to memorize the material you will be in for a rude awakening. I think he taught the material very well and gave a lot of examples for a better understanding. All you have to do is ask questions and he will deliver.

I took 210 online with Outz and I'm currently in 211 with him also. LOVE him. Made an A in 210 and have an A so far in 211. For everyone complaining about him: you obviously are not serious about your career because he is there to make you THINK and he makes sure you know the material when you leave his class. If you want to learn, take him!!!

Yes, he is a hard professor, but he actually makes you think and prepares you for your field of interest. I do recommend him. He will answer any question you have and clear things up! I recommend recording lecture because he moves very fast!

I took Outzs for BIO 210 and BIO 211. He's an awesome teacher! His tests are extremely tough and require a lot of studying. If you want to pass his tests you MUST DO THE STUDY GUIDES THOROUGHLY. His class is not easy and you must work hard for your grade. However, his toughness made me learn the material thoroughly which I am so thankful for now!

Mr. Outz is the BOMB!! I took 210 on-line and 211 in class. Pay attention in class and take advantage of Mastering A and P online. Mr. Outz wants to see everyone succeed. He explains things, particularly the physiology, in easy to understand terms. He is always available to help his students. EXCELLENT instructor - highly recommend.

He is a great professor! Very knowledgeable, and although not everything he teaches will be on the tests, he wants everyone to know everything so it can be overwhelming but if you work hard, then it's fine!

He is a very good teacher. Make sure you write down things that he repeats more than once, it's mostly hints. If you don't have great studying skill then i do not recommend because his test are extremely difficult and take up most of you studying time away from your other classes as well. But it is a tough class. Outz works well with everyone!

I would definitely take him again. The online class was great, but there are NO LECTURES! You must read the power points, that he provides, by yourself. He does not go over the material with you at all. DO NOT WAIT LAST MINUTE to do the homework, it can be overwhelming. DO HIS STUDY GUIDES and know it.

Probably the best teacher for 210/211! Hes not easy but he cares about your success and very approachable. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF MASTERING AP !! He takes exact questions from that for the tests and its a great study tool. He replaces your lowest test grade with the final! I suggest taking this class by itself! Its tough! You have to put in the work!

I currently taking 211 and Professor Outz is amazing! He teaches his lectures from power points and will tell you what is important to know. He has no problem with explaining anything if don't understand. A&P is not a hard course, you get out what you put in. Study & complete the Q's on Mastering A&P-- you will pass! I promise.

Amazing professor. He breaks things down so that you are able to fully understand them. Take advantage of the mastering because he definitely pays attention to those who make the effort.

Professor Outz was awesome! Anatomy and physiology is not an easy class, but he explained everything well and always gave us time to ask questions. I would totally take another one of his classes!!

Mr. Ouzts is a fantastic teacher. He's patient, he explains things instead of just reading to you, and he stops to answer questions after every section before moving on. The Mastering online tool has the textbook on it and the required activities really do help for studying. Pay attention, ask questions, and STUDY and you'll do fine.

His study guides follow exactly the test. Everything he goes over in class is what will be on the exam and does everything to help the student understand their criteria.

Outz isn't easy but neither is Bio 211. He gives HW to help bring your grade up and your final replaces your lowest test. His study guides are a bit long but follow the test so they're very helpful. My one complaint is I had 3 exams in the last week of class, but it was a summer course so things were rushed from the start. Study and you'll be ok:)

Awesome Lecture Courses, Very timely, uses all class time. He explains everything to where you can understand and my favorite is that he always asks if there is any questions at the beginning and ending of lectures. Test are heavy but if you keep up and ask for understanding it will be an easy class.

Dr. Ouzts presents advanced A & P by explaining concepts in detail. Throughout the lecture he offers opportunities for the students to ask questions. If you currently working as a clinician or are planning to, I would highly recommend taking this professor.

BIO 211 is no joke. You will have to set aside time to READ the chapter. Ouzts is phenomenal! He explains everything with real world examples! He makes analogies to a lot of things. Pay attention and DO NOT MISS A CLASS. Everything you need to know is in the PP slides in red. I recommend recording lecture to listen again later. Ouzts is amazing.

Ouzts is by far the best instructor I've had at MTC, this is why I took him for both 210 and 211. Know the information in red and bold on the PPTs. Green info is just FYI but you won't see on his exams. There's nothing unapproachable about him. Responds to emails quickly, like same day, even on weekends. DO THE ASSIGNMENTS & DYNAMIC STUDY MODULES!

Took him in SP19 semester, but my rating on here didn't show up, so I'm redoing it now. Know the info in the study guides, do the dynamic study modules, and know the info in the PPTs in red and bold. Info in green on PPTs just FYI. You'll do just fine in this class if you put in the time yourself and he'll help you if you ask. Highly recommend.

This class was tougher than 210. He gives homework but it does help with the tests. Hes accessible outside of class so you can go over tests if you need to. I worked hard for my C. The first 1/2 semester was hard , then I found my groove. He is a good teacher you can tell he genuinely enjoys A&P.

I didn't read the book. Wrote extra notes from his lecture into the powerpoints provided. Studied all material but focused on red/black. Study guides do not help minus reproductive one. Dynamic study modules help a bit but PPTs where it's at. Ouzts means well & expects you to work. This class is rough so work hard. Expect to READ, just not the book

Mr. Ouzts was a solid teacher. He is very straight forward with lectures, but they are incredibly boring. If you pay attention and study the red and bold info on powerpoints you will pass. He definitely knows his stuff and will tell you everything you need to know for the tests. just study study study and you will be fine

Professor Outz takes his time with the material to make sure that everyone understands it. BIO 211 was a challenging class for me because of the depth, but Outz's lectures broke it down and his study guides gave me an organized way to prepare for exams. If only I had spent more time reviewing the information then I might've had an A!

I wish I would have had Professor him for 210. He's lectures are amazing! Seriously learn so much with his explanations. He's direct and doesn't mess around with small talk, he's not about wasting your time. He wants you to understand the concepts. If you listen well, do the homework, follow the study guides and then repeat.. you'll do great!!

I love love Mr. Outz as a professor. He was knowledgeable and very organized. His lectures are amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. He gave me great advise for passing his class. All work he gives is so you can pass the exams. Theres no way to not do well in his class. Listen to his lectures, do the homework and DSM, and exams are easier.

He was my best professor during the semester. A&P isn't an essay course, yet he did his best and made it easy to grasp. His Homeworks after each unit were a good source of review to further understand the concepts.

Amazing for 210 and 211, highlights exam material in red/bold print. Tests are heavy, read book for foundation, do Dynamic Study modules, use Wendy Riggs videos (he recommends) as a visual resource! The best professor to have for this course. He is so kind and he cares about how well we know the material. 1st two exams are the nicer tests, last two are the harder. Counts final for lowest grade and gives helpful resources for learning enhancement. I am taking him for 211! Cant wait!

I took an asynchronous A&P class with pre-recorded lectures. Ouzts does a great job explaining everything you need to know, highlighting what's most important on the PowerPoints, making it very clear what's going to be on exams so you know what to study, and giving plenty of study resources. Mastering on Pearson is required and counts for grade.

Professor Outz literally saved me in biology. Bio is hard regardless but the way he explains his lectures is so useful and you can definitely tell he genuinely cares about his students making good grades. He does not just read off the slides, he explains the info on the slides in his own words and also gives good study tips to passing his exams.

His class is hard but he is such a funny guy. Like he is so dry it makes me laugh and the one time we got him to laugh was so funny. I say I didnt use the book even though I bought it because all of his tests are from his slides. I read the first chapter and nothing since and have made straight As. Do your mastering HW, they add up quick.

Anatomy is hard in general- and I also chose to do it completely online. However he is amazing. I am an image based learner and he did an amazing job through the course explaining hard concepts. I have taken anatomy once before by Kension and dropped it because I was struggling. I passed and did awesome w Outz, professors really do matter!

With work, you can't go wrong with Outz. He can be intimidating in the beginning as he warns that this is a difficult class, but his lectures are amazing and he bolds everything important. His study guides adequately prepare you for each exam, including the final. Study from his lectures, not the book, do well on the assignments and you will pass.

If you want a teacher that wants to set you up to succeed take Outz. 211is a difficult course, you have to do the work to pass. Tests aren't basic questions, you have to be able to apply your knowledge but it's a skill you need for medical programs and he helps you develop that skill. His metaphors help you understand difficult material.

A&P is a hard class, esp. online. Read the material, do the homework, take lecture notes, make your own notes from the book, and understand it thoroughly. Professor Outz talks a lot in his lectures & gives good relatable examples. Exams were harder than lab quizzes, but he is a fair grader. Nadia Al-S. for lab was absolutely amazing, too!

Mr. Ouzts was a wonderful teacher for BIO 210! The course is pretty difficult, so be warned that this is not a "quick cram" class that you can scrape by without doing much work. The PowerPoints were VERY helpful, and highlighted all the info for the test that we should read further about in the book. Tests difficult but fair. Wanted us to succeed.

Made concepts very easy to understand. Heavy lecture but great at teaching. Uses examples from book, draws concepts on the board, asks questions to help with application. 1 homework assignment to complete per chapter. Very understanding and lenient when it comes to allowing extra time for exams. Read, come to class, pay attention & you'll do good!

I have a degree at USC already with a 3.9 and I am going back for Nursing/CRNA school. This was the hardest class I have ever had.The exams are HARD but you will learn so much from him, he is extremely knowledgeable ONLY Take if you TRULY want to live the biology life. It is well worth it in my opinion but it will NOT be easy!
