I took World Literature 2 with Professor Harrell in the Fall 2008. Honeslty I find literture sort of boring but his teaching style made literature and learning it fun and instightful. Harrell is not only an amazing teacher, but a great guy. Some basic work is required, but he gives you every opportunity to do well. If you want a class you don't have to do any work for, then this isn't the one for you, but if you don't mind reading a bit, Harrell's the prof for you.

It's Curtis Harrell, you really don't need to say anymore. He'll help your writing, you'll learn more than you thought you could, and you get to be taught by one of the most interesting men on campus. Very helpful and wasvery easey. I took him for intermediate writing and reading and we wrote 3 short papers. I advise you to take him if you need this class or any other comp class. Also at the end of the semester we turned in are last paper and had food.

Honestly best English teacher/professor Ive ever had! Super respectful. Always available to students 24/7. There is a lot of reading, but he's so good at talking about it later in class so you better understand. Fair grading(easier grading). Creates an enjoyable environment in the classroom and a relationship with students. TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!

He is a great teacher! There are three main essays throughout the entire semester. Before each essay he helps and gives you plenty of time to research and develop your essay. He uses a Wiki Page that is used to organizer yourself for your essay, which is an amazing tool! I definitely recommend him for any future English courses!

You might be overwhelmed when you look at what is due each week because it seems like a lot at first, but take a deep breath. It's not as bad as it looks! Do the work & you will get a good grade! I've never been one for poetry, but in this class, I found that I can write poetry. It was a unique experience.

I took Imaginative Writing I with this professor and it was a generally lax class. It was easy to follow and if you missed it was fairly simple to make up. Our poems were read aloud to the whole class and the professor and students alike gave their advice and feedback. Deadlines weren't pressing and late assignments weren't a big deal.

Professor Harrell was one of the best professors I took along with Professor Billingsley, hes a cool guy with tats, a cool beard, and wears blazers to class. He has an intersting method of teaching where he dosent fully go off the textbook but I prefer that and we wrote poems making the class more intersting,

Mr. Harrell by far is the best English teacher I have encountered. In Comp. II, your only required to write 3 research papers and he gives you time in class to work on them. You will have to read and journal, not hard at all. Always willing to help and give feedback. Take his class!

When I first came to class I was really nervous, but when he walked in the room he seemed really nice. I loved his sleeve tattoos. He's funny and witty and actually cares about you as a student. You just need to show an interest as well. I will miss his class. He made poetry fun.

Professor Harrell has been one of the best professors I've had at NWACC so far. Although there is a lot of reading, it's super easy. He goes over assignments the next day in class and assignments that are due after class that day. Attendance is mandatory, but it is totally worth it.

Fun class! You have to write paragraphs about the fiction, poems, and drama that we read but you get full points as long as you turn something good in. Not hard at all. Papers are five pages five sources but otherwise pretty easy. We write three papers through the semester, and the final is a P a r t y ! I enjoyed this class would recommend 100%

I had professor harrell for composition II. semester is broken up into three sections and you have a research paper after each section. he allows late work up until a week late with full credit. class is always fun and amusing. there was no final just a potluck! 10/10 prof!

Take this class if you can!! Mr Harrell is Easy going and understanding. He wants you to pass his class and makes it hard to fail. Just do all of the journals on time and finish your essays. He has a great personality and is fun to have in class.

For the online course, all we had to do is read, answer discussion posts, and write essays. As long as you do the assigned reading and do your work, you should be just fine. He also is great at reminders and responding to emails. All the exams are essays as well- from 2/3 pages for regular exams, but the final is a bit longer.

Took his 8-week class lots of reading 3 exams and 1 final all essays and open from the beginning great teacher and easy class just lots of reading. If passed with a high B while taking 4 other classes and working 57 hours a week.

Took his 8 week World Lit class. Discussion posts and quizzes every week (straightforward stuff). Very thorough class feedback is given on the discussion posts. Professor Harrell is easy to reach and responds promptly. Also know he is very flexible with late work; accepts the time period exams up to a week late for FULL credit. Very nice prof.

He is an amazing professor, he gives a lot of feedback and cares a lot for his students. I enjoyed this class so much and I learned so much with him. I would take it again.

This professor has been the best professor I have ever had in my entire time in college. He is so interesting, like it was a true pleasure to be in his Comp 2 class.

I enjoyed this class very much. I found my real passion for writing papers once I took this class. Professor Harrell is an amazing instructor and will be there to see you at the finish.

I definitely recommend professor Harrell for English classes. He is easy to understand and will answer any questions you may have. He is very knowledgeable about literature elements and loves to go over lectures with the class.

This professor has been the most easy going professor I have had. Easy going as in he is not up tight at all, jokes with his students, he will talk about other things as well to make the class fun and keep you engaged. He lists exactly what is needed in essays in order to get an A. Does not assign crazy amounts of homework, & allows extra time.

Professor Harrel is an awesome teacher! He's very understanding when you have trouble with deadlines and creates a very stress free environment. He's very encouraging and a real joy to have as a teacher I really loved his class.

Prof. Harrell is a gifted poet and an outstanding, inspirational teacher. He is an asset to NWACC and I wish he taught more writing classes. HIs lectures were invaluable to understanding the poems we read and to writing of our own poems.

Professor Harrell was such a delight, I had him for my Survey of World Lit class and it was such a breeze having him as my teacher. He always responded super quick with any questions you had, and was super helpful. He also was pretty lenient with late work and was understanding overall! I recommend the 8 week course (if available)!!

NWACC needs a LOT more Prof. Harrell's! What a delight school would be if all teachers were this laid back and caring. You never feel the tension of looming papers like in other classes. I don't know, he's just an inspiring, and well versed Professor. Great online class, even betting in person. 3 major papers, bunch of small reading assignments.

This professor is AMAZING! He truly loves his students and cares about them! I feel like he also cares about mental health breaks as well. We actually get a Thanksgiving break in this class! I work full time, college full time, and I have three kids! Him allowing a break so we can spend time with our families is HUGE! I would take him again!

If youre looking for a somewhat easy A his online courses for you. This online World Lit course consists of weekly discussion posts. Three very easy two page tests (double spaced). & one four page final. As long you meet the main requirements for an assignment you will ace it. EXTREMELY generous with late work, unlike any other prof Ive taken.

He was quick to respond to any questions and gave clear instructions for assignments. There was a lot of material to cover in a short amount of time, but the quizzes and exams were easy enough so long as you actually did the reading. Also, the assignments due dates were spaced a reasonable amount of time apart. Overall, i enjoyed taking his class.

Prof. Harrell is very caring and always willing to answer questions or read rough drafts. His "wikis" are intimidating at first but really aren't complicated and make your essays much easier to write. He is a fairly easy grader, as long as you meet the minimum number of secondary sources and actually try, but no extra credit. Recommend for COMP 2.

Even though I was in creative writing, probably one of the best English teachers I've had. Does not hold absenses against you and this class made me want to turn in assignments on time so we could my poem or story in class and you get to hear everyone's feedback as well as his prompts are general and give you enough creative space.

Professor Harrell's COMP2 class is a true gem. His teaching style is engaging, and the wikis, though intimidating at first, are surprisingly helpful. unstuckstudy ai and the textbook are great study tools to ace this course.
