He can explain things very very clearly. he cares and is always available if a student has questions. he really is the best teacher a person could have.

Overall, I feel that he is a really good teacher because he is fair and explain those boring stuff very well. I don't like math and I didn't have a good grade in my high school, but he gave me confidence. There are many hw and some quizzes,but exams are easy if you understand those stuff from quizzes and hw. Attending lecture is important for grade

I think he is a good teacher. He may be a little bit sensitive, but he explains things very well, and is always available to help students after class. He is getting better on the whole "homework" thing. If you are respectful to him, he will be nice and respectful to you. Simple as that. It's a shame that so many people are bashing on him.

Kifer is cool. He is a really nice teacher and funny at times. He leaves tons of HW problems, though. He lets you have a cheat-sheet during the midterms and final. He is very helpful during office hours, too! Recommended.

Kifer is a really good teacher! Although he leaves a lot of HW, his tests are very easy. He lets you have a cheat-sheet and weekly quizzes are also extremely easy! He is funny, too! If you're going to take Math070, take him!

Taught very well at the beginning, but then started teaching really FAST towards the end of the semester. He doesn't seem to organize his time very well. Sometimes he would teach one topic for the whole class time and run out of time for other topics that are much more important. So most of the time, he would rush on other topics.

Kifer is the best math teacher ever. If you are struggling then Kifer reassures you. If you are a girl and are struggling, he makes you feel confident and able. He is polite and didn't make me feel hit on at all. I recommend Kifer.

I want to say he is strict, but he's not. He explains the material very clearly. He doesn't use mymathlab, so all homework is from the book.Hw is due once a week but its ALOT of problems.His tests are not multiple choice, and only one question for each section is on the test. Kinda hard, but a very knowledgeable teacher.

Kifer was very available to help during office hours and was very willing and able to answer even off-topic questions throughout the class. Homework graded only on effort, but tests graded on accuracy. If you're willing to do the work, you can do well in this class.

He is a good teacher. Easy test, but lots of homework. If you want to pass easily, I recommand take this class. You will learn something from him.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME. His lectures are PERFECT, he repeats everything until you get it and he really knows his stuff! He does give a lot of homework, but usually you have the weekend to do it. As long as you show up & listen his tests are easy! Seriously the BEST teacher ever!

he's a good teacher :) exams with cheat sheet and explain everything well except for the messy handwriting. He sometimes mistakes the calculation but he has great humor to cover it and treats us like friends. really nice teacher!

Super easy! If you want to take stats, take it with kifer! Allows cheat sheets on exams and 4 pages of notes on final! Seriously, it cant get better than Kifer. u do need to attend class. He explains things pretty well and there are no surprises. RECOMMENDED!!

You can tell he is extremely passionate about math! Which is perfect! He really knows how to make the difficult stuff easy. Explanations are PERFECT. Honestly, the best professor for math I have ever had!

The book is obviously a must. He gives you lots of notes in class, so it's smart to look at them to study for the 2 or 3 midterms. He also answers any questions you have thoroughly. He bases your grade heavily on homework.

Kifer is an awesome math teacher. His lectures are straight out of the book but are MUCH easier to understand than the book. Tests are pretty straight forward and come from problems right out of the book. He gives a lot of HW though. But overall I would highly recommend him as a math professor. Do your homework, study, show up, and earn your A.

Kifer is the 2nd best teacher I've ever had… he is so passionate about mathematics. One drawback is the amount of MyMathLab homework, it'll take 4-8hrs per week. I WOULD definitely take him again, great guy!

Very good professor he is very thorough in his teaching methods. Kifer will only test you on the concepts he gives you notes on during class, this is why you should go. Also, there are quizzes he gives after every Homework (very easy/one question). Hw load may seem intimidating at first but the problems are easy and worth doing. Cool/Chill Prof!

I was a guy who hated math but after taking his business calculus class. I have gotten used to it. At first I thought he was a hard teacher but he is cool guy. Really wants the class to be happy. He is able to cover what we do not know ASAP. Only drawback is quizzes and a lot of homework. other then that easy B or A

GREAT professor. very helpful and very approachable. he is willing to help you any time. exams are not hard at all. however, he gives TONS of homeworks. but they are easy to do but you will have to spends hours doing it. overall, very good ! take him.

He lectures well, and upbeat in class. Attendance doesn't seem mandatory (15%) Quizzes (at least once a week, at most 3) held in the beginning of class. Took attendance everyday unless there was a quiz. Tests weren't too difficult b/c it coincided with his lectures. HW were due online and you can talk to him about any concerns you have. Recommend!

he teaches a lot but bad at time management. if you attend his class every time he will be nice to you. if you have question just ask him. keep in mind he have a lot of homework

Kifer is a really good *STATISTICS* teacher. He is very passionate about the subject, although he gets really unorganized at times. If you put in the effort in doing the homework and listen in class, you'll do fine. You get tested with what you learned in class; nothing more, nothing less. Take him, he'll make you like stats.

Math was never my favorite subject but Kifer made it bearable. He does his best to answer every question asked and makes sure you understand. Homework every week on Web Assign. Quizzes every week but fair grading. He cracks jokes in class so its not so boring all the time. Visit him during his office hours -- great help!

Excellent professor. Took Math 12 and he was extremely clear with his lectures and how to arrive at a solution with relative ease. The tests weren't all that difficult and he drops the lowest one. The more you attend classes, the more lenient he is with grading your assignments and dropping low scores. Overall, wonderful instructor.

Best math professor in De Anza!!! I really like his class! His lectures are clear and interesting. He is so friendly to help students, and he also is a good friend! I recommended him to my all three friends, and they will take his class next quarter. I want to say thank you Curtis! You are the best!

Professor kifer a nice guy with lots of Math Homework. If you want to pass the class keep practicing those hw problems which are actually not that bad. He's hilarious alright. He would make all of us laugh and at the same time learn so I definitely recommend him.

Prof Keifer is a crack up, this always helps imho when math lectures can be long and boring at times. His class is by no means easy as it is difficult subject matter, but if you pay attention during class you will understand the material. Lots of homework, but its doable and REAAALLLY helps during the tests. Loves math and loves to help.

Mr. Curtis is one of the best professor who make some boring, arcane, abstract math concepts clear and easy to understand. He is knowledgeable and knows his stuff, can easily answer students' questions without looking at the text book. He is hilarious, you wont feel sleepy to sit on your seat for the 3+ hour evening class. Tons of homework,enjoy.

Professor Kifer is great! He uses WebAssign for all the of homework, quizzes, exams, and final. Be prepared for a lot of homework but his lessons are pretty simple and straight to the point. He is an awesome teacher with a quirky sense of humor. Don't skip class bc you'll miss A LOT plus it's for points. I would definitely take him again.

He's an awesome professor! Though there is quite an amount of online homework and attendance matters, just pay attention and you'll get at least a B in class! He's so funny would totally take him again!

There is lots and lots of homework but its not too hard if you pay attention and ask questions. Everything is online including quizzes, tests and final. Sometimes gives out pop quizzes. Would take recommend him to anyone.

Kifer is fantastic! Show up, do your homework and you will be fine. He sets up his students for success through his straight forward approach to teaching. I stress to stay on top of your homework and studying because he moves along quickly. If you don't procrastinate, you should get a good grade. The cherry on top is his great sense of humor.

Kifer is one of the best teachers at De ANZA College. He expects his students to do homework every week but it is not hard since we do the homework on the webassign which shows examples similar to the problems. Do homework will help you get A for exams. care about his students. answer all questions if you do not understand. Definitely recommend

One of the nicest Math teacher you'll ever meet. Participate, show up, do your homework, and study your midterms and quizes. You will get an A in this class. Quizes, tests, and homework are online. Curtis Kifer is one of the best math professors at De Anza. To be honest, you will be taking notes the whole class and he will give you step-by-step process on how to solve each problems. All problems he goes over and quiz questions are potential midterm question. Show up every class, put an effort on all the homeworks, and you get a good grade!

Prof. Is one of my absolute fav teachers that I have studied under at De Anza, I took 2 classes back to back and in both classes, he has been very descriptive in his teaching and wont move to a new section until everyone has understood the last ones, i gotta admit his midterms and tests are A LOT! but they're worth it, A+ Prof imo

Quiz,MTs,hw on webassign but final is written . No EC! MTs and final heavily weighted.6-9 Q's per MT/Final. 3 mt's drops 1. Quiz or MT every Wed. Easy to talk to, expects u to understand the concept. moves quickly, does not let out early. IMHO I thought he was tough but really clear and helpful. Would take again & recommend but u need to study

He was a nice professor, easy to ask for help if you don't understand the material. I thought the class was alright but I passed with an A because I studied really hard, did all the homework, tutor center, good notes and went to his office hours. The midterm is similar to the homework so if you understand the concept then you'll do good.

Curtis is a really great professor. He really knows what he is talking about and makes everything very clear. Take good notes, do your homework, and study and youll pass. This guy knows his stuff and he knows how to explain it. Plus he is funny and easy on the eyes. I was lucky to have him. I often thought "what is such a talented outstanding guy with tons of personality and insight doing teaching at a community college?" I never had anyone explain math so clearly before. His examples are right out of the book.

Very good teacher!!! He explains the material very well. His homeworks and quizzes are all from WebAssign (super easy). Sometimes he teaches really fast so you need to pay attention a lot in class in order to ace it. You should preview the textbook before going to class, it will help you lots. Other than that, you'll be fine.

This prof is not the best of solving problems or giving you the best way to solve them, but he is the one I literally expected. He's funny, tries his best all the time to make his lectures clear and obvious (even he gets mistakes sometimes lol), often assists you with extra credit (fairly) (b/c quizzes on WebAssign is irreversible :( ).

It's pretty obvious he's trying to be caring ("who's your #1 professor!", he might give the class tips DURING quizzes but not during exams. I just wish Kifer taught 1B as well...

Teaches in a way everyone can understand. Fair grader. Homework is hard but prepares you for quizzes and exams. Homeworks are harder than tests usually. The only drawback is his limited availability outside the classroom. Otherwise, he makes sure his class understands the materials. Ask questions in class.

Professor Kifer is a great Math teacher! Yes there is a good amount of homework and quizzes, but its all done online and he gives you a reasonable amount of time to complete it. He always had office hours after class if I ever needed help with anything. I was really hoping that he would be teaching 42 in the spring but no luck. Keep being awesome!

I had Kifer for math 41 and I can say he is not unorganized: he presents every topic like a genius. His explanations are better than any mth teacher I ever had.
