It is very important to Dr. G (as she prefers to be called) that we understand the coursework, and that we excel. She loves her work, and involves us all with various collaborations and presentations. I spoke in public for the first time in my life and had always feared it! I am averaging in the 90's this week before Finals. We'll see how it ends!

This was one of the few classes that I actually looked forward to. I also liked that she didn't get bent out of shape over the odd topics I picked for my papers. As far as the class, it is a laid back atmosphere, but not to the point where nothing gets done.

Dr. G is one of a kind! She is fun,her classes are interesting, and she really cares about her profession and her students! At first,she seemed a little intimidating, but once you get to know her, it's her style, but in a fun way. Like most teachers, she expects you to give 100% and there is little to no room for excuses. I've taken 3 previous English classes at GTC and there is just no comparison to be made with Dr. G's class. Her teaching style is innovative and definitely a lot more fun than I thought a Lit & Poetry course could be. She tries her best to keep our evening class engaged and on track. She is THE instructor to have if you have to take an English/Lit course. Her passion for literature and enthusiasm for teaching makes all the difference. You gotta do the reading or you'll miss out on the meaning of the class and especially the writting of essays which is a big part of the class. Participation isn't eccential but does give you alot of extra class points plus makes the class alot more fun. The class helps you to analyze stories, poetry and plays.

i took her this quarter and she is great. 3 papers on short story, poetry, and play paper. 1 research paper and finals, no mylitlab homework. assignments are readings from the textbook which she discusses in class to help students get meaning beyond the surface. she is a little disorganised but her class is fun. never a dull moment. take her.

GREAT TEACHER! Makes class super fun! she puts enthusiasm in the way she teaches. She helps you to feel comfortable with your writing she's easy to understand. This gracious and sweet teacher likes to be called Missus Wiz or Dr. G. Would definitely recommend hands down for anyone looking for a Awesome English teacher!

Although the length of class was 5 weeks, I learned a lot from Dr G. She is exremely patient and wants all of her students to do well. Dr, G does not allow students to text or have side bar conversations during class. If you do the work, you will do well, English is not my favorite subject, but I made an "A".

Although summer quarter was intensifying and short, Dr. G created a calming learning environment. Her lectures are clear and easy to follow. Dr. G. Take Dr. G you want regret it. She is a great instructor.

If you are a forgetful person, this class is for you. She not only updates us on future assignment, but she REMINDS us when our papers are due. Over-spammed emails full of information that you DO need. I couldn't ask for a better professor.

I attempted taking this class about three times and ended up dropping the class every time. I was very happy to have Dr G this summer. Her instructions were very clear and easy to follow and she was in constant communication with the class. I admit i registered for this clss because its a requirement for my program, but here came Dr G. she made it easy to learn. Who else can read a poem with her Djembe afican drum:) recommend her especially if english is your second language.

I recommend taking her course. Very clear and concise on teaching instructions. Class is fun to be in and she is very helpful to students. There is a lot of writing but if you follow instructions and ask for help you can pass. She makes sure you understand what you are doing and gives you plenty of chances to ask questions.

My first online class, and I was very confused. She tried to help me understand, & even set up a class to help me. She does send A LOT of emails, so be prepared to check your email EVERYDAY! She ALWAYS responds to emails! She DOES NOT give grades, she is VERY fair. Over all, even though I failed-- I think she did a good job, & definitely knows ENG!

I took her class on-line and found her course to be very clear on expectations, assignments, and guidelines. Writing comes fairly easy to me but I still found her to be a pretty easy grader. I highly recommend her to anyone considering taking this class on-line.
