You dont get any easier than this teacher. She gives TONS of extra credit and her test come striaght from BlackBoard notes. I only study an hour B4 the test come to class everyday and I have a 100+ avg in her class. If you cant make atleast a B in her class you probably shouldnt be in school. This class is a super easy A+. Just do what she asks

she is awesome. really outgoing and understanding! her teaching is good and she does care about her students...she gives a lot of extra credit work so take advantage! i was failing at one point towards the end of school term and she took the time to stop me and tell me she is willing to help if i did something for her! she is great and really funny

Very nice lady. Gave more than enough extra credit work, but it wasn't really necessary. She was a little disorganized, but I can hardly expect better from a brand new teacher. She did a wonferful job teaching, as I had no interest in that class, but still enjoyed going. Would definately recommend her!

I didn't know how much I loved Sociology till I started to take this class. Very easy class, especially with so many extra credit options. If you e-mail her with a question she will respond with a helpful answer. If you're going to take a Sociology class, take her. She rocks.

Took her at San Jac South. It was her first time teaching Sociology, but she's a natural. I signed up for Murray and they pulled a switch at the last minute, but that was a good thing. She's smart, friendly, & helpful. There were easy writing assignments that would add points to exam scores. She made the class fun & interesting. She's sexy too.

Really cool teacher, cares about the students. Class is pretty easy if you just pay attention and participate. I am Catholic and when religion came up i know she appreciated my participation so thats probably why my 88 bumped up to an A when grades posted. Kinda bounces around in notes and surprises you with 3 or 4 test questions from the book.

I needed to take a humanity class and this was all that was avali. After taking this class I decided I want to take another Soci class with Ms. Montemayor! She made it interesting & fun. She is very nice & helpful. I have seen other bad reviews on here, but I do not have 1 negative thing to say about her. SHE IS THE BEST! I may even change my major

I took this professor during the summer & i absolutely loved her! Very easy teacher & very helpful! The tests come straight from her lecture notes so if you are in class everyday you will do well!

I really enjoyed this class. She uses alot of examples which are very helpful. Her tests come straight from the lecture notes so be sure and print them out every week and study them, this also helps during lecture (her handwriting can get kinda crazy) overall great proff. fun class.

I had taken sociology prior to this class but due to complications I could not finish. Compared to the other proff she is awsome. She keeps your attention, explains questions clearly, very helpful, all around my second favorite proff, just because of the subject. Attendance is a must, tests were graded on curves.

Great teacher. Lots of extra credit opportunities and she is very willing to help you, but you have to ask specific questions if you're trying to find info. Even though class was cut short (Ike) she still managed to cram everything in w/o being unreasonable.

Took her last Dec for the three week mini. Class is easy and she is rock'n. She kept my attention the whole time.

She gives a lot of work but its easy. Helps balance out your grade if you do bad on the tests. With the tests be sure to at least read the chapter reviews. She does seem very busy and unorganized but I still would take her again. I wish I did for psychology.

Montemayor teaches at a COLLEGE LEVEL. Some of my classmates act like babies wanting to be spoon-fed the information. OPEN YOUR BOOK! Take an interest in learning and quit moaning. Class was great for those who bothered to listen, take notes, and interact in discussion. Still Recommend Montemayor!

Don't miss class. Take good notes. Do all the FQ's. Study the book, FQ's, n summaries she post n you should do good. Few things is she plays favorites, gets way too personal, and can be rude n cold if ur not a fav. She doesn't lecture much but does alot of group wk. She's very unorganized. I got an A but earned that A! Take her @ ur own risk.

She is hard on you, but it is because your supposed to be an ADULT. This is not highschool so grow up! She is late to class sometimes, but no big deal. I suggest taking this class as a mini because she is admittedly more helpful because of the amount of information to process. Im not a psych or soci major, but would take her again if I needed to.

She was cool. She was a bit sarcastic at times but she knows what she is talking about and seems to like teaching. There's alot of group work and videos so it makes the class interesting. Do what she asks for with the papers and fqs and you will do good. the book is used.

I took the mini and I loved it. She was always very helpful and answered emails promptly. She def wants class participation and is a fan of group work. Biggest complaint was that she didn't tell the boys in the back to stfu. Tip: if you want to ace the paper, don't wait until the last day.

I took the 8 week online class. If you do the readings and assigments you should do well in the class. Be sure to participate on the discussion boards! She outlines the class well so you can easily plan your study time. Nice professor and very responsive.

Took her for the Summer mini for Intro to Sociology.She's very clear in her instruction and provides notes and supplemental information to ensure your success.She has a strong character, but she's nice overall.Class is a tad challenging but an A is easily attained through enough effort.If you fail, you didn't try. I took her for the spring semester. Her class was fun and interesting, she knows what she is talking about and can be a bit sarcastic. I don't know what people mean when they say she is unapproachable because she is very understanding. Just do what she asks and you'll do fine. I took Prof. Montemayor in the Spring of 2012, she is truly a fantastic professor. She knows her stuff and goes out of her way to help each student learn to the best of their ability. Dont let the quick wit and big heart fool you, she means business, but as long as you do the work the class is a breeze.

Prof. Montemayor-Allen was AWESOME!! I took her Spring 2012 and after being out of school for 15 yrs she made my comeback a GREAT one!! Do the work, listen, study, and ask questions you will LEARN a lot and do fine!! She makes it fun and easy to learn you just have to apply yourself.

overall she's a great professor, I really learned a lot in her class and she makes the class fun and interesting. However doing well in this class takes time and effort. You can't slack off. She tells what she looks for in her assignments and if you follow that, you'll do fine.

Professor Montemayor-Allen is an excellent teacher whom pushes her students to pursue a higher level of education contrary to the status-quo. She genuinely cares for each student, and requires class participation-which assists in the learning process. This was my first class ever. I was absolutely amazed at how fun and clear her presentations and assignments were. I can see that if you take an online course with her that she could seem "mean" because she has a passion for Sociology. Take her course in person!

Mrs. Montemayor-Allen is the best professor ever. She takes time out of her busy schedule to help you out. She gives post exam reviews which means if you did bad on a test you go in the next day and retake it with a partner with notes and the book. She really cares for her students and wants you to understand. She is a super sweet lady and fine.

Prpf. Montemayor was my favorite teacher ever. Her class was extremely interesting and at the same time hilarious. She comes off strong, but she's actually the sweetest lady ever, when she's not professing. If you dont give bull, you dont get it back. She really knows what shes talking about. I really enjoyed her. She may come off as intimidating and mean at first, but she is really chill. You learn a lot and watch a lot of videos which are my favorite. I think she gives a lot of easy work. The only thing that will take up time is doing the study guides, but they aren't difficult. I would definitely recommend her :) She's funny and cute

I loved her class ! She makes sure you are paying attention and gives quite a bit of extra credit ! You obviously have to pay attention, but it isn't so hard. She is really sweet and extremely funny. I totally recommend her.

She's an awesome to teacher to have, her grading goes by how many points you have Ex: B800 points A900 points. So if you work hard for the first two months and get a high enough grade you can coast to the end of semester. She seemed intimidating at first but once you get the rhythm and realize how easy it is to get good grades it makes it simple.

This professor was okay. There was a lot do every week. Theres a pre quiz and assignment and a post quiz due every single week. There is a required essay offered throughout the semester, I probably wouldn't take it again. She's boring but if you have time to do every assignment its possible to make an A

I had to take a social science class for my general studies major and I am so glad I took this class. She was an awesome teacher and is extremely passionate about the subject of sociology, and she's very helpful. I was in a major accident and she was very flexible about rescheduling tests. I would absolutely take her class again if I had a chance.

She is absolutely amazing! I love her way of grading, she gives you points rather than just some grading criteria. She also structures the course to where you can't fail (lowest grade is a C). Her study guides are long, but she gives you enough information to be able to answer them accordingly. I highly recommend her.

I took her over the summer and it was challenging. She has the class set up on a points system so you can choose the grade you want. In order to get an "A" you have to do some "extra credit" assignments. She is a tough grader on DB's and the writing topic.

I didn't get an A because I honestly slacked. She explains the work and how you can get A base on points accumulating through the work you take. She even gives some extra points. Her powerpoints of her class help a lot. Also, read the little book helps a lot in the test! Get an A! I got a B+ and didn't have to take the final! She's awesome!!!

She is very understanding, and will work with you on your issues. There is a ton of course work, but you pick what your desired grade will be and which assignments you want to work on. Her lectures are fun, and full of information. Don't miss class because participation is necessary. I highly recommend taking her, the course was very rewarding!

Be sure to use ADA format when writing all assignments and discussions. She can be a tough grader on discussions but she gives great feedback. You have two attempts on every quiz and post topic exams. Since it is an online class you're able to work ahead. She grades by giving you points on every assignment. It is an easy A if you work for it.

I received an A in her class, she was by far one of my favorite professors. She explains the syllabus very thoroughly and makes you take a quiz in the beginning about it to make sure you understand whats expected for the semester. Her lectures were very interesting and I really enjoyed this class.
