Dr. Beck is good but the class is no cakewalk. Prepare to spend alot of time with it for take an F.

It was a very difficult class and I had to work hard for just a C, but Dr.Beck is very helpful, for essay questions e-mail her ur answer beforehand.She really wants works hard with you to pass.Her exams have pretty tricky wording, so read carefully

I found Dr Becks class extremely hard and I had to work very hard to get a C in the class...her goal is to fail out as many ppl as possible but it is possible to pass with a C if you truly work hard for it.

hard class. dr beck is funny & easy to listen to & very smart. she knows a lot of the class by name, which is impressive due to the size of the lecture. dont skip this class, you will miss a lot; you take a LOT of notes and are quizzed on them every week.

She is really nice and helpful. She goes over things to makes sure you get them, and frequently tells you things she will ask you on the exam. HOWEVER, the class is the hardest class i've taken so far, and you honesty have to study EVERYDAY to get a C.

In Anatomy & Physiology, you will get your money's worth. She will prepare you for Nursing classes--perserverance in this class should determine whether you really care about helping people in a medical profession, or whether another career is better.

Dr. Beck's Anatomy class is one of the classes I enjoyed the most. I am a Bio major, however I took Anatomy as an elective for two semesters. I found her class so informative and very easy to grasp onto the material. Take this class! You will enjoy it.

This class is very informative. As long as you go to ALL the lectures your good. If you weren't at thursday lecture then be prepared to fail the tuesday lab quiz. But if you do the practice exams, discussion questions, and actually listen during lecture, you got it made.

The class isnt that hard as long as u study for it. I dont think it's the teacher's fault that some ppl are failing. She explains most of the stuff. It's just the course itself is tough. Pay attention in class & take notes, then u'll be fine. I study the day before the exam, & I m doing good.

Beck is the best A&P teacher that I have come across. The class is hard, but this is information that you need to be able to understand and apply. This isn't a class you can sleep though and expect to pass. This is college, wake up and get a clue.

Dr. Beck explains well. u need to be able to study the material on your own. make sure you understand the concepts and are able to apply them. The info you learn in this class ties together so she expects you to be able to correlate them. Its your responsibility to follow thru and u will do well

i thought the class was difficult but for a large class, she does teach well. I really admire her efforts and just the type of person she is.

I really,really enjoyed this class. wasn't sure I was going to, but Dr.Beck is GR8! She posts study ?s online. Know them and u'll do fine on exm. Start hardcore studying 1 wk b4 test, b/c the tests aren't too easy. But she does a gr8 job of preparing u for the exm. Much respect for her as a teacher!

Tests are hard, she's kinda intimidating, but she knows her stuff, and you will too if you study. She's not an evil monster, but dont expect her to be your best friend. If you ask questions, she'll learn your name and try to make sure you understand. SIT UP FRONT -u are less likely to miss stuff

This is a hard 400 level class usually intended for pre-meds. She is probably the most understanding and kind professor. She incrediby nice AND a GOOD teacher. If u wanna be a Dr. then suck it up and LEARN! when you get a patient with a disease u didn;t learn abt, wutchu gone say, "uhh,sorry, it wasn't on my study guide,my prof. didnt go over it"

Dr. Beck sometimes slips into this horrible monotone. The topics are usually interesting enough to keep you awake, but if you've just eaten lunch then forget about it.

Material of her Anatomy & Physiology class is hard, but if you study and come to class every day you will get a good grade.BEWARE,this class will take up a lot of your time! She posts all the sample exams and class lectures online and a # of the exam ?'s are taken from them..Beck can be a little boring, but is very intelligent and helpful.

Very good instructor. Very fair - her tests reflect exactly what she emphasizes in class. Her quizes can be a little tricky but mostly easy points. This class is demanding and you will not pass if you miss class and dont study a little every day. This will require min. 14 hrs. study + class time per week for an A.

She is an awesome professor!!!! This class is not easy, but she explains things so well, and makes sure that you dont fall behind. If you have a question all you have to do is go to her, and she is more than willing to help. SHES THE BEST!!!

Dr Beck is awesome! It's a very hard course with a ton of work, it gets overwhelming, but she tries her best to make sure you understand all of the material and put some humor into it. Her quizzes are easy if you just go over the notes from the class before, tests are difficult. Make sure you know your stuff

Dr. Beck is not easy to say the least. However she is an awesome professor. She explains the concepts very well and tells you the exam discussion questions in the lecture. My suggestion is to go to class. You WILL miss out on important information if you dont. Also, she is more than willing to help you if you have problems with lab instructors. ;)

The exams are hard! Studying is a must! There is no way to pass without reviewing the material - including some things that is not covered in lecture or lab. This is a very independent class. You have to be on top of things!

Dr. Beck is a great teacher. She can tell when people are confused, and even if it is just one person will explain the concept until they get it. She is willing to help if you need it. MAKE SURE YOU GO TO CLASS! She has a quiz once a week usually in class, but gave a take home quiz on the class before to show that you really do need to be there.

As other people said, you DO have to go to the class. But she doesn't bore you at all. She is the funniest professor around. she keeps her students involved in the class by asking questions. you have to read the book to do well in the exams.

You MUST go to lectures, take good notes, and make sure to review your material again before the test. The tests can be hard but she doesn't try to trick you. She hints at what will be important on the tests in lecture and tells you exactly what to study online with the practice tests. She hates it when people enter late or leave early. use the CD

Dr. Beck is knows her stuff. She is willing to go the extra mile for you if you are doing the work. YOU CANNOT MISS LECTURE!!! NOT EVEN ONE! If you study like she tells you to and do what she says...and really do it, a good grade is achievable.

awesome. she's hilarious, but tough. She wants you to know your stuff! don't stress to much and just listen to her advice, you can't just fly by this class without reading or doing your part. its tough but worth it. sometimes you'll hate it, but in the end you'll realize just how much fun everything is. Even if you did fail that second exam.

A&P is a hard class no matter who is teaching it. Dr. Beck really takes time to hlep you 1 on 1 during office hours. I failed the class b/c i didnt' study at all. You HAVE to study or else you WILL fail !! Hardest class i have ever taken at GMU so far and i'm a Junior.

This is a weed out course and a very tough one at that, however this was one of my most enjoyable courses in my freshman year. She is very hard only if you let her be, this is college, don't be afraid to get extra help because the lab is a helpful/hurtful part of this course it depends on you! She loves comic relief so enjoy it! A+ for Dr. Beck!

Beck is so knowledgable in biology and A&P that her lectures are intense and exams are extremely hard. Even though I worked my butt off in the class I feel that everything I learned will be helpful and make things easier on me in the long run. She tries to help you out, but doesnt give you anything, you have to earn it. Overall great teacher!!

She's very smart and really knows what she's talking about. She can be entertaining during lecture but sometimes they get boring and you can get lost really easy. The tests are impossible I worked my butt off and barely passed. If you are taking this "For fun", dont.

Lets be honest, anatomy is an extremely hard class. Your going to have to study like crazy no matter who you take, but Beck does do well in lecture. Shes clear, funny, informative and kind. Just get to know her in the begining of the semester-stop by her office hours. Lecture quiz every tuesday from the previous lecture, very important! THESE ADD ^

People who say shes impossible obviously dont study. Ive been going through a lot but still got A's in both semesters. You have to study, its a college class so get used to it. Shes a great teacher and some of the exam questions are pulled right from the practice exams. Its a weed out class for the nursing program, so it has to be difficult.

Reminds me of an angry little smurf. Of course this class is difficult, but if you study seriously, go to the review sessions & do all the practice questions you will do great. It's a matter of effort, people. Has favorites which can be nauseating & obnoxious. Also, the cd's that come with the book are pretty helpful - use those.

This is not an easy class. But guess what, it's college! If you go to class, pay attention, take notes (what she says & writes), and review the notes, then you will do fine. Alot of people think this class is purely memorization, but it's not. You need to know the concepts of things too. Again, as long as you put in the time, you will be fine.

GREAT TEACHER! She does the best she can with a class of about 250. If you make the effort to get help from her, she's more than willing. Is a hard class. Lot of info. but duh, welcome to college. In the end, it is really up to YOU if you want to make a good grade. SHOW UP FOR ALL CLASS!!! you miss one day, you are SCREWED!

Beck is a straight-foreward professor who provides powerpoint notes and explains them. She is very adament about taking test questions straight from lecture notes. It is a hard class no matter what teacher you have. In all honesty, people who dont like Beck are just lazy.

Dr. Beck is a wonderful teacher. She tests on what she covers in lecture, so you don't need to read the book. She explains things clearly, makes it interesting, and has fun once in a while. Take from the tiny titan!

She is not the nicest lady, but she has to be the best lecturer I have ever had for a science course. She is an excellent teacher and explains material well. Again, not very personable, but an excellent teacher. Take good good notes and you will be fine.

The material isn't easy and it takes studying to get but i thought Beck was very good at explaining and lecturing. I was very rarely bored in her class becuase she kept things interesting. She is intimidating but if you do talk to her shes a nice lady and will help you out. Study really well for her class and avoid cramming !!!!

I took her BIOL 124&125 classes. She is a great instructor and you will love her. She explaines materials really clear and makes you love anatomy and physiology. However, you have to devote tons of time for getting a good grade in her class. But once you clearly understand, studying is not a matter because it's actually really fun!! Take her class:

Dr. Beck is a great instructor! Sure, she goes off focus to tell funny stories, BUT that's how she keeps the class awake :-). To get an A in her class you HAVE TO SHOW UP...attendance isn't mandatory, but it helps. Notes are straight from the book, do the study guides for the exam, but DO NOT MEMORIZE the answers, LEARN THE MATERIAL. It helps a lot

Dr. Beck is a great professor!I advise writing down every word she says (even if she says not to) and if you can't write fast enough, get a tape recorder. Her tests are strictly based on her notes and the questions are straight forward.The information can be overwhelming at times but if you put in sufficient effort, you can get an A like me :)

She is awesome! She is not going to hold your hand though... study for her class- its as simple as that. She is prob. one of the coolest teachers I have had ever.

Beck is an experienced professor who knows what she is talking about. She may move fast through notes but she clarifies any questions that the students might have. Shes a great professor who truly just wants the students to actually learn something rather than just get by.

If you want to learn, this class is for you. You will learn so much in one semester. If not, don't even bother.. regardless of the professor. She lectures a lot, so you have to do a lot of your own notetaking. Powerpoints are not online. Class attendance is mandatory.

ommg im so in love with this teacher. something about her makes me enjoy going to class at 730 in the morning and listneing to her teach. even though i failed the tests she still rocked my world.

Dr. Beck is a good professor! The problem is A&P 124/125, it requires ALOT ALOT of dedication in regards to studyin and actually understandin what needs to learnt! Read the textbk everyday for one hour if possible! Students tend to blame professors but those who passed did what was recommended!Could have done better if I did what Im advisin now!!!

A+P is a weed out course for prospective nursing students. There is a lot of info to learn and if you don't work hard you won't do well. But I probably wouldn't want a dumb lazy nurse working on me anyhow...but Dr. Beck is very smart and knows all the material well. Read the book. Show up to class. Use your brain. You'll be OK.

Don't listen to any of these people, it's just cause they are having a hard time and are not studying enough. Dr. Beck's class is amazing, I learned so much from her. The class can be pretty stressful if you leave everything to the end but if you keep on top of studying and go to every class it's not too bad. Get a group of people together to help!

Off beat sense of humor that always made me laugh. The material is difficult but she explains it very well. I enjoyed having her as a professor

I am in love with this teacher. Listen: A&P SUCKS! No matter who teaches it. she is very fair, and clear, and fun to listen to. she responds to emails, and Wants to help. There is no FUN way to have A&P. But Dr. Beck is the best at what she does, period.

Took 124/125 with Dr. Beck (online lecture)..... She is an amazing woman that wants to see her students succeed. Always willing to communicate with students. One must put in effort because this material is no joke. Offers built in points that definitely aid your grade. Overall, one of the best professors out there. Thank you Dr. Beck!

Professor Beck is a great teacher. I agree the material was tough and it had been a while since iv had biology, but still took the course online and it was one of my best classes. Yes it requires work like all other classes. But professor Beck answers any question you may have and really wants her students to learn. Take her class!

I took this professor for an online class. She was pretty straight-forward and helpful. The exams can be a bit tricky .

Dr. Beck's class isn't easy but no BIO class is easy. She gives tons of extra credit, and grades timely. I wish I have met her personally. I've taken the class online. I think she is a great Professor. Also, answers if you have any questions, or struggles. Thank you Dr. Beck! Leman

Dr. Beck is not a professor you can be lazy on. She's tough but everything on her exams can be found in her class lectures. She explains things very well and responds to emails quickly. She provides a lot of extra credit if you want to go the extra mile for your grade. She's a teacher who will ensure you know the material- I would recommend her.

She is great and she motivates you! Work hard and the class is easy. She made me love anatomy/biology although I did not like it in high school. She is a gem :)

discussion posts were tenuous but helped with the study guide. do the practice tests and make study guide from objectives. do well on the online quizzes. take the optional test because it's questions from past 3 exams. date heavy, no exceptions. extra credit is easy and helps, so do it

I personally learned a lot from Dr. Beck's lecture videos/the way she did the course. Very deadline heavy, but this helps you stay on track with the material. You really need to study for her exams, but she does Q&A sessions, answers your emails, and goes over what's going to be on the test. Also offers up to 5% worth of easy extra credit.

Prof. Beck is the BEST! She is easily accessible if you have any concerns a ndshe gives PLENTY of resources to help you study. Exams and quizzes are easy if you actually study! The class really demands time and effort, and it's deadline-intensive but it helps you stay on track and learn more. She also gives plenty of extra credit.
