The best teacher in the history department!! I Like her! she is so nice and helpful.
She is an awesome teacher. I didn't have to buy the book because her tests came from lecture and attendance is mandatory , but she is a good teacher and easy to listen to and go along with. Tests are MC and 1 essay, which she gives you a study guide for. Her name used to be Northrup, Cynthia...so also check the profile that is on this website.
keeps things really interesting and shes is also very interested and lively. you have to go to class though, if you miss you miss out on alot
she is a great teacher. anybody who doesnt like her, did not go to class a lot. her tests are straight from her lectures. it is very easy to remember her lectures. she is very clear and honest in her lectures. i would never take another history teacher. she is great. and she is gods gift to history. very knoledgable.(spelt wrong)
She talks really fast so I would suggest you bring a tape recorder to keep up test are 24 multiple choice and a 3 page essay sounds hard but it's not she's by far the best prof I've had all semester.
Best US history teacher ever exists in US history
the best history teacher ever. great personality a good sense of humor and actually makes history interesting. i would recommend anyone to take her, if not you are missing out. her tests are pretty easy they come straight from her lectures so you have to attend class. there is some essays on the tests but she tells you what to right about
I hope I will fail so I could take her again, and again
So i thought that she was really easy... and she is until you take her quizes... i failed those and thats what cause me to get a "B"
Love the way she dresses ;)
SUPER SUPER flexible! the work is all online & she pushes back dates all the time :]
I mean today was my first day in her class, and I just think she is the coolest professor I think I'll have in my UTA career...love her sense of humor..I know this is going to be a fun ride for the next five weeks LOL
MY FAVORITE CLASS AT UTA SO FAR!!! Professor Clark is a down to earth teacher and will make you LOVE history! She makes the class interesting and always adds funny stories about herself in her lectures. If you miss a quiz/text you can always retake it...she's very flexible. You really have to attend class/take notes to pass though. TAKE HER!!
AWESOME. I've had two upper level History classes with her, and I've known people who have taken upwards of six with her. Very cool and fun teacher. Just do your best to keep up with the material and you will pass the class.
This teacher actually values the need to learn. Most teachers teach you then grade you. Not actually take much care in what you learn. Mrs. Clark really wants you to learn and makes sure you get all the info you need prior to the test. The tests are pretty easy and the online stuff is pretty much a given. A very fun teacher
OH MY GOSH I LOVED HER!!! She is awesome! I learned more about history that I ever would have with any other teacher. She is funny too, and loves doing what she does! TOTALLY TOTALLY TOTALLY recomend her!
She is very good!! and also funny.
Dr. Clark is my favorite professor. Really easy and helps students a lot. tests are really easy. no matter what yu should make an A.
Awesome teacher, very helpful and actually cares about how you do in the class. Would take another class with her.
BEST PROFESSOR AT UTA!!! JUST DO UR WORK, N YOURE GUARANTEED AN A!! i HATE history, n never looked forward to learning about history, but professor clark changed that for me! n she gives little surprises here n there! =]
Great professor. Is funny and interesting and you'll love attending class. Tests are 20 mc and then an essay but she goes over the material the class before the test so its impossible to not make an A. Attend lectures! They're fun and you'll definitely get a great grade if you do.
I never liked history, but I took 1312 last semester and she is amazing! I am taking her again for 1311, she is that great. The book is online, and she wrote it, so if you go to class and listen to lectures you dont have to read. Shes really nice and helpful, and I actually enjoy going every class. Shes easy and makes things interesting. Take her!
She's Interesting and her tests are pretty easy, but you definitely need to study. Lots of Chapter Assignments and Lots of reading in Novels. She also likes to share personal information....and it's kinda awkward. lol
Dr. Clark is amazing! She makes History fun and her class is super easy. All you really have to do is show up and listen. Take her if you can!
Her lectures are interesting and if you go to class, you'll make an A. There are chapter assignments online but they're super easy. Has quizzes over 2 books each semester, I never read them and still made an A in both classes. Tests are 20 mc+essay but she gives a very helpful test reviews the class before the test.
I am not good at history at all and it doesn't interest me. However, I managed to get a 'B' in this class. She makes it interesting and the class isn't too hard. I suggest bringing a recorder to class, it helped me a lot because she talks pretty fast..
One of the best professors at UTA. She makes the subject very interesting to learn and her test are super easy.
Great teacher! clear of what she expects, doesnt try to trick you on tests. Gives you a review the day before class with everything you need to know for the test. funny and easy going. favorite teacher so far!
Awesome teacher. I did not like history before her class and she made it interesting, and I loved it. Her tests aren't easy but if you go to class, and review and study you will do great. Sign up for her as soon as registration begins because she fills up immediately. Very smart, and funny prof. Would recommend her to anyone.
Very funny n approachable prof. All the work in her class isn't out of this world hard. You can do the online assignment over and over till you get 100. Test are easy 25 mc n a essay, she gives a review the day before.I just recorded the lecture and listen to them a couple of time and I was good for the test.Must take if you hate or dread History.
She is am amazing professor. She makes you feel history which helps you understand it. For someone who does not get history, this made it very helpful. She also provides an extremely helpful review. Attendance isn't required but helpful.
Anyone who says she is great obviously recieved an easy A. Sometimes she hands them out like candy. She missed several classes and is slightly aloof when she is in attendence. Great for an A, insulting if your here for knowledge.
AWESOME ALL THE WAY AROUND! TAKE HER FOR ANY HISTORY CLASS YOU HAVE!
Great if you want an easy A, but it was absolutely ridiculous how much she cancelled class with no communication with students.Take home midterm and final.DOES NOT RESPOND TO ANY EMAILS which is a problem to some students. If you're looking to walk out of the semester with a lot of knowledge about history, I do not recommend taking her.
She had some personal issues come up which affected her semester. I would have preferred she email us when class was cancelled instead of leaving notes on the doors at the last minute. It would have saved me a number of 4:30am starts. I would not take her class again. Easy 'A' but for a $1000 class I feet like I got the short end.
Awesome professor, she knows her stuff!! As long as you read the book, which is not bad at all, and pay attention in class, you should do quite well. I got an A!
Awesome professor! Knows her stuff. Fairly easy class as long as you attend class everyday, take notes, and read your texts.
Everything you need to know for her test she tells you the class before. Great History professor if you just need a history credit. Some effort is required for an A, but not much. A TA messed up grading my essay, and Prof Clark took the time to help correct the error. She was really nice about it too. She's also hilarious, which never hurts.
Take her! She's so easy! I knew nothing about History and made an A, attendance helps boost your grade a bit. 3 easy tests, but 2 quizzes where you need to read books and those were tough.
Dr. Clark knows how to teach. If you attend class regularly, take notes, and study, you should receive an A. There are two exams and a non-comprehensive final. She goes over what you need to know before each exam. There are 25 MC (50pts) and 1 Essay (50pts). You have to memorize at least 2 essays before each exam. Overall she?s a great professor.
Ms Clark is a very talented professor. You can tell that she really likes her profession! Her tests are not tricky...but are not that easy... you must take good notes to get an A.
Attend class because she gives 5 points EC to those who miss less than 3 lectures. On all three exams, she gives you three possible essays ahead of time, two will be on exam, and you get to pick one. Every single time, the longest essay and one of the shortest essay are on the exam. For the book quizzes, you cannot slack off. Easy A.
EASY,EASY,EASY. I just took her and it was my freshmen year. Take her. She tells you everything you need to know for multiple choice. Plus you have to write an essay for the test. During review, she gives you three essays and tells you what to writ , every detail. And two of the three are on the test, and you pick which one to write. And shes funny
Very easy class and grade. Test material is made very clear ahead of time. But I can't say I was a big fan of Dr. Clark. Her lectures bored me to tears. And the "online testbook" was a one hundred dollar joke. Easy A, but I wouldn't take her again.
This class is VERY easy. She tells you exactly what to study and the exam is going to be over. Great attitude and isn't afraid to tell it how it is.
GREAT PROFESSOR! She really knows her stuff. Lectures are pretty intereseting, if you pay attention. Her tests are easy and she reviews the day before the test. If you go to class, there is no way you can get an A.
Easy A, tells you what to expect on the exams and even has a day of reviewing for exam. We had assigned seats, attend class or else she begins taking points off your grade
THIS CLASS IS AWESOME, DEFINATLEY TAKE HER EASY A!! I WILL BE TAKING HER AGAIN FORSURE!
wonderful professor with a great attitude (not one of those professors who tries to make the class harder than what it needs to be) everthing on the exams are covered n class. jst be sure to take notes!!!
Absolutely fantastic prof. I don't hate history, but learning and retaining it has always been difficult for me. Her class wasn't an especially easy class, but her lectures made it easier and more enjoyable to remember and learn. I would def recommend this class to everyone. It is her goal to make EVERYONE love history and, with me, she succeeded.
Excellent teacher, Easy A. All the material comes from the homework assignments and the book. Reviews before the test and tells you exactly what you need to know for the essay questions. Read two books in the semester but didn't need to because the test was so easy.
and 1312. She's a pretty awesome. Really into history and can get excited about certain topics which makes the lecture much better and easier to pay attention to. Lectures are pretty clear and holds reviews before her exams which are pretty simple if copy down her lecture notes on whiteboard and take some time going over them yourself. Take her!
Absolutely love this teacher. The best I ever had!!!
she was very easy. I made an A.. just do the online assignments and study them for the test. she makes you sign in. but you don't have to pay attention, just write down the outlines she has on the board
If her TA didn't take attendance, I would only show up on review days and test days. It's that easy! She's really friendly and funny, and the online assignments are so simple and easy 100's. Also, extra credit opportunity for 25 extra points which helps a ton. She makes History not so boring. Take her!
I'd recommend her to anyone! She's a great lecturer and makes her lectures into a story time. Her assignments online are easy and her exams are easy too. She provides review days before. Attendance is mandatory.
I took her for both HIST 1311 and 1312 because i liked her so much! I made an A it was EASY. Hard work to maintain it though because of tests. She lectures exactly what you need to know for the tests and she uses only her own memory no powerpoint slides. Take good notes! Easy assignments! Highly recommend! Not tricky. Take her!
Took Clark for 1312/1311. Easy! Only bummer about her is that she requires you to buy her book that is only available online. I like to rent books because I want to save money. She makes that impossible. Attend the review day and you will ace the test. She picks the easiest essay topic to help us out. Interesting person with a lot of knowledge.
AMAZING TEACHER! I've taken 3 of her courses and she is my favorite teacher at UTA! She tells personal and funny stories to relate to her topics which makes you not help but memorize what will be on the test. Her personality makes the class incredibly enjoyable. Just take notes and listen and you will do great! I learned so much about history/life
Take good notes, and go for the review, guaranteed A.
if you want to have an A in a easily way take her class
Honestly the best 200 dollars I've ever spent for 1311/1312. I fall asleep easily to lectures but this class kept me interested and awake. She makes learning history very interesting and I not once read the book (only to do the assignments). Best professor by far for 1311/1312. Easy A. All you have to do is come to review and you'll be fine.
All I can say, that she is super duper easy. Best professor ever at UTA.
I absolutely love her! She is so down to earth and gives extra credit. If you don't make an A in this class it's bc you did absolutely nothing. Attendance is required.
I loved her class. all you have to do is go into class and listen to her lectures. Its like a long story and very easy to pay attention. required essay for each test which is easy. she gives a review the day before the test which is very helpful! online chapter assignments are the only down point because it costs $100!
The easiest class you will take! I highly recommend her!
Professor is pretty chill and sometimes tells weird stories in class. Really awesome and easy class!
GREAT PROFESSOR!!! She gives so much extra credit its hard to not get an A! I only needed a 32 on my final to get an A; that's how easy it is. She gives you reviews and if you have her on a day that's only 50 min class then you won't even have to write a full essay she'll accept outlines. I would write an outline and write 4 sentences as my essay
She is an awesome professor, so funny, and very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend her. Only downside is the textbook is required and its like $100.
People will tell you that she is the easiest class you will ever take and it isn't true. I have a 3.9 and you still have to study for this course. I am expecting to get an A in her class but I would never take her again. She gets extremely off topic, inappropriate, and she is very strong in her political beliefs which make her teachings bias. :(
I love Clark!! She teaches history by making it into a really interesting story! I always enjoy going to her class!! It isn't a blow off. There are some online assignments which are easy, the tests are multiple choice and an essay. If you listen in class and keep up you will do great! Definitely recommend Clark!!!!
People told me to take her, so I did. And I'm glad I'm right. She gets off topic a lot, but her off-topic stories are actually interesting. If you take notes, and listen to her lectures, you'll be fine! Another downside is the $100 online text book. The online assignments are SUPER easy. You can even redo it if you get answers wrong.
Easy class if you are good at history. She talks about herself too much and goes off topic easily. Overall, if you study you'll do great. The text book is a huge rip off. $100 for an online text book ridiculous.
LOVE HER!!!!
She really is an amazing teacher. Although it sucks having to read two books, I ended up not reading them and still made an A in her class. I really recommend taking her class. Oh! Also, she does assign seating, so try to sit next to cool people on your first day.
Great class!! Great teacher!! It's an easy class if you go to the lectures and take notes you'll do fine. The online assignments are SUPER easy you can do they as many times as you want. The only downside is that you have to pay $100 for a book you'll most likey never look at.
She is an amazing professor! She claims she will make you extremely interested in history and from the very first day she will accomplish this. I 100% recommend her. By the end of the class you will respect her as a person and you will respect history. Always looked forward to next lecture.
I am not a history person but after taking her class it seemed so easy yes I did miss some classes and didnt pay attention but it showed in my test grades to if you go to class write your notes and study them then your test will be easy reading the bookms are a must too the online book work are very easy I would take her again!
AWESOME professor! She makes you love history simply because of the way she teaches it. Her pace is a bit fast so you'll need to write or type pretty fast if you want to cover everything in your notes. It is very important to be there all the time because it WILL pay off. VERY INTERESTING.
I took Dr. Clark after reading the good reviews and was unimpressed. If you want to get an A it is pretty easy, however. Just pay $100 for the useless textbook that she requires you to buy, and take notes. She takes time out of your class to tend to people's personal issues. Oh, and there is assigned seating, which I don't care for.
besides the $100 for the online class, it isn't that bad. don't need to go to class except the first couple days and review days. Online assignments are very easy. Do it with friends.
Professor Clark is amazing! She made history interesting and relevant. There is $100 "textbook" to buy and assigned seating that you pick. Other than that, just go to class, take notes, and you should earn an A. Her reviews and outlines of the essays are exactly what you need to earn an easy A. Take her!!!
Her class was super easy the work load was not difficult at all. the assignments are online and really the main thing was just getting her reviews and you are good
Dr . Clark was one of the best professors I've ever had. She made learning the information fun because she introduced it chronologically and all as one big story. I took her class in the Fall of 2013 and she had 2 exams, a final, 2 quizzes (one per short novel), 8 homework assignments online. Do your assignments and study notes and you'll get an A!
I looked forward to Dr. Clark's class both semesters I took her. She lectures all of U.S. history from memory; tells it like a story book. Tests are half multiple choice, half essay. The multiple choice aren't hard, and all she wants from the essay is for you to spit out facts. This class requires minimal outside studying and class attendance.
I actually took Dr. Clark's class back in 2007, but I'm here because she and her class were that memorable. History was never my subject in grade school, and I certainly wasn't looking forward to sitting through it in uni, but she made it fun and interesting. The tests were, from what I can, fine if you paid attention. I made an A in the course!
Great, actually took more classes than necessary. Would love to take her again and again
One of the best teachers out there
