Professor Ghent is really great. She is funny and she makes Biology very easy to understand. She makes class fun and entertaining.

If you're like me and you suck at science, take her for bio. She really gets to the point and makes it easy to understand. As long as you pay attention in class and take notes, you can understand it without even reading the chapters.

She is the greatest science teacher ever. She gives you great "Real Life" example to help explain everything. Is always willing to help clarify things. FUNNY! If you have to wait to take her...do it!

She was extremely helpful and straight foward. Her tests were quite difficult, but all questions were fair. If you have to take a gen ed. science, she's your lady!

Wonderful teacher! Take her for your gen-ed. Takes time to make sure you understand, tests are fairly difficult, but if you come to class you'll be fine. Haven't opened my book all semester and I have an A.

Very nice teacher, would def. reccomend her for Biol 110, pop group quizzes here and there, exam every other week, decent grader, labs..just be there...very helpful will explain anything, also posts a study guide for each exam!

one of the better science teachers towson has to offer. i sucked at high school bio, yet i'm doing great in this class. she's clear and will explain a topic until every single person understands it. the labs are annoying, but what can you do?

She gave some great examples, and a lot of lecturing. We had some group quizzes and most of the assignments were very easy but her tests were tricky.... she knew what she wanted and if you didn't put what she wanted you got half credit. I had to work really hard for my A but I learned a lot!

This is a real teacher! She is extremely helpful, and very concerned that you actually learn the material. There is alot of graded material along with the class, but it's not hard or time consuming. Definitely take her if you can.

She is a Great Teacher and Person. Always Helped me when I needed help. She only teachs info that you need to know. Dont need to read and Labs are so easy. Doesnt check work in lab. And you have 3 extra credit labs. TAKE THIS CLASS ITS AN EASY GEN-ED.

Cynthia Ghent was by far my favorite teacher! I loved her! She understands that 99% were there because we had to take the class, not because was like science. I for one hated biology, but i looked forward to going to class! She really helps you understand what you need to know! I was reccommend her to anybody who hates science! hes wonderful!!!!!!!

Ms Ghent rocks.. she is down to earth and understands that not everyone enjoys science. She teaches you what you need to know for the tests and is easy to follow. She gives plenty of small assignments that will help factor into and help your overall grade. tests are tricky but other than that i reccomend her :)

Probably one of the best teachers at the univerisity that i encountered. There are 5 tests that are multiple choice with some short answer. There is alot of extra credit given throughout the course. This class is just about impossible to fail if you just take notes in class and listen and participate in the lecture.

Really nice teacher. She makes corny jokes a lot. Her tests are easy if you read the book and take good notes. She teaches everything outside of the text and touches up on some things in the book. So read and go to class and you'll do fine. She's really sweet. I definitely recommend her.

This is a content course and it was actually a pain in the butt. There's a LOT of work that needs to be done for this class- weekly reflections from an encyclopedia and a textbook due through Blackboard. Has a cumulative final in the form of a practical and exams throughout the semester. Good luck with this class- I'm so glad it's over.

She's nice, but class is typically slow and boring. Kind of treats her students like little kids, as she makes up silly little stories to teach the lesson and some class activites are a bit juvenile. Doesn't take attendance and all you need to know is in the book. Tests are pretty easy, just study.

Since she doesn't take attendance you can pretty much just buy the book and learn this on your own, as it takes her forever to just get to the point she is trying to make- also takes her at least a month to grade every assignment. Nice and easy though.

Ms. Ghent is a VERY VERY sweet woman and she is very helpful! She wants her students to succeed and will take the time to make sure you understand one on one. HOWEVER, her class is extremely HARD. Her tests are not easy and you have to study and get extra help if needed. I personally would go to her one on one and that still did not help much.

Prof. Ghent was very knowledgeable about the subject- after all, she did write the book that is used (which is more like "notes" and easy to follow). The tests were difficult- and studying is extremely necessary. However, Ghent definitely gave interesting lectures. She is a very nice and helpful person. The lab portion of this class was very easy.

She is an AWESOME professor. I was seriously dreading Bio because I am not a science person but she makes it easy to understand. Quizzes are all extra credit and she explains everything very thoroughly. She has review sessions before every exam and makes sure all students understand. DEFINITELY TAKE THIS CLASS

This class was very challenging. Like everyone else said, the exams are extremely HARD. Thought I aced a bunch and only could pull high Cs. She is very helpful though and very nice. If you need help, GET IT. I made the mistake of not asking and I regretted it. Lots of ex. credit and other points can be earned to raise your grade. Optional final !

I thought she was helpful. Class wasn't too bad. Just be sure she states explicitly what material is going to be on the tests.

I got an A- and worked moderatly. She always let us go early. If you understand the concepts then the tests will be super easy. Only 4 exams with an optional final that replaces your lowest exam grade. GO TO CLASS if you want a good grade! She gives extra credit in class that is added at the end of the semester.

Great professor. She teaches class in a simple way and only gives information that is necessary. Tests can be a little tricky, but going to class helps. Attendance isn't mandatory, but extra credit is given almost once a week. 4 exams and one optional final. 4 easy classwork assignments and 1 simple project. Take this class!

She has a sense of humor but knows her stuff. The class I was in was Biology for non-majors, and she said right from day one "I know most of you are here because it's a required course because you're not a Biology major, but as long as you pay attention, participate, and do your best, this class will be fun".

Her tests are directly from her lectures, so GO TO CLASS. Also she is constantly offering in-class extra credit. Five tests, and she takes the top four scores. If you study you will pass. She is great, she knows that she's teaching non-majors and is working to make the info as relevant to us as possible

Ghent was an awesome professor! She was really chill and was helpful if you had questions. You're forced to come to class bc she doesn't follow her syllabus schedule, so you never know when you have a lab. It was no big deal, though, because class always got out early. No textbook, just a lab manual & novel for a project. Take her for honors bio!

Dr. Ghent is an excellent professor, she has a vast knowledge of ed-psych, gives great examples of how to apply the ideas in the classroom, and everything she does in class has a meaning that she always "layers" to help on the student level as well as the teacher level. Overall great professor, I'd take her again in a heartbeat!!

Best science teacher I've had in my life. She teaches at a level that non majors can easily understand. Gives great examples. TONS of extra credit too. She makes it nearly impossible to fail the class with all the extra credit she gives. Would definitely recommend to all non-majors taking a science credit!!

Dr. Ghent is excellent! She cares about her students and wants to prepare them to be successful teachers. She knows the content well and is good at explaining concepts. Most of the assignments are projects and she grades fairly. She encourages class discussion and wants to make connections. I would definitely take her again!

Dr. Ghent is one of the best professors I've had at Towson. She truly wants her students to succeed and she's incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the study of disease. She makes learning interesting and fun and I respect her a lot.

She is really nice and tries to incorporate different styles of teaching to try and help everyone learn to the best of their abilities. Her grading criteria can be a little unclear sometimes, but overall I think she was a great professor and I would take her again.

Encourages student participation in group seminar sessions, which you do have to read for if you want to contribute. No exams, just writing assignments and presentations, for which the only daunting assignment is the large final paper. She knows what shes talking about, and is very helpful when you ask for feedback on assignments.

Dr. Ghent is a solid choice for HONR 370. She is caring and always open to feedback about the course. Also enthusiastic and really tries to get the students involved.
