She's kind of a B. There's a lot of work, so you gotta keep up
Her tests are hard, but isn't that why we're in college? Gundy's the best!
Awesoemm teacher! Interesting, take her classes in summer!
YELLS at class all the time to BE quiet, and is obsessed with Coke
No Comments
The tests are hard, but the class is fun. I liked the whole 50/50 (web/classroom) thing. It kept class time a lot shorter. She does like Coca-Cola a lot though. Interesting stories.
Come on guys....I am a C student and I even got a B in her class. She is a great teacher and keeps the class very interesting and I enjoyed having her as a teacher. Her test are straight from the book and if you read you can pass.
The reason her test may seem difficult is because of the wording. Sometimes it's easy to answer questions incorrectly if you don't read carefully. Also, make sure you follow all directions carefully when doing writing assignments for Mrs. Gundy.
One of UCF's best. Funny, interesting, good overall teacher. Make sure to read book as well as knowing lecture material. Well worth taking!
Shes ok... yells a lot to be quiet which is REALLY annoying.. she doesnt care what reason you have, you have to take the makeup final.. even if your in the hospital
She'll be nice to your face, but just wait until you take her tests. The wording is ambiguous and can be easily misunderstood to lead you to the wrong answers.
Gundy doesnt have any real life experience. She basically reads the text book and then explains it to you. She gets upset easily. Material is easy so she makes the test confusing.
Amazing how disrespectful some professors are, Ms. Gundy being an excellent example on their kind. And she's not even any good - reading straight from her slides, not adding any new information. And sets new lows for BORING.
She's average. her tests come from the book and notes, i'ts not hard, but you do have to read. Echambadi is better. SHe's not that boring, but she does get mad if the class talks too mcuh.

Her lack of genuine interest in student interest disgusts me. She only knows what is in her book, and will not deviate an inch from it. The subject matter is beyond easy, she makes it hard by creating ambiguous test questions...and shut up about coke!
She's terrible. Annoying, and boring. Class is a waste of time. Won't learn anything. Avoid her if you can. She's also needs to know to shut up about Coca-Cola, b/c Pepsi is much better.
Great teacher but the tests are kinda hard if you don't study.
Mrs. Gundy is a nice person and seems to enjoy what she is teaching but her test can be a little confusing because of the wording.
got d in the class, she sucks very wordy test questions that in order to answer correctly you would have had to writen the book itself. she sucks at teaching. boring class. worst of all crapy tests.
Good teacher, keeps the class involved. Her tests make easy material harder.
She is really not that bad! Yes she reads from the text, but it's nice and clear. The wording on the test can be consfusing but if you just ask her to clarify it, she will. As long as you go to class and study you'll be fine!
I thought Ms. Gundy's class was interesting... the only thing is that her tests are pretty hard. You need to read the book because she picks out little things that you would only know by reading. The project is a pretty heavy load.
She grades hard, and test are lots of writting, Study your notes for tests. Has a good personality so class is okay, Overall good experience, just have to work for your grade.
The tests werent that bad if you paid attention in class, took good notes, and read the book. Her damn group project was terrible. We worked on it all semester, put 50+ hours into it, and got a C. It's crap. She is very unwilling to help with some things.
Gundy had a really bad chip on her shoulder this semester. He exams are pretty tough because they're all short answer format. If you dont have the perfect answers, you don't get the points. She grades the Role Play's hard. Overall I dreaded this class.
I agree with most of the comments on here--she is very helpful outside of class but very inflexible regarding grading. I think she grades WAY to hard and is too particular on her tests.
Shows a lot of favortism to the boys in the class. Her grading reflects how she feels about the student personally not based on their performance in the class. She's Terrible!
Very easy class! Test come directly from lecture, she does not pull tricks. She only gets snappy if she has to. What do you expect when students deserve it, I sasy dish it. Definitely take her!
great teacher, funny.
Professor's Funny, but a little bias to guys. She is a great teacher. Her tests are a little hard. You must read the book! But overall, she is a great teacher.
This lady taught me that my best isn't good enough. Before I even read this I knew I couldn't contest my grades. She's much too particular. She reprimands us like we are children. I'm not a slacker; this class is ruining my drive to keep doing well - nothing will come of it.
She's such a HARD grader! I'm worried about whether I'll pass the class right now or not. She makes the class interesting but I just feel that she grades way too hard on the little stuff.
PICKS FAVORITES! I did my BEST in this course but it was not good enough after 500pt scale I was only 3pts away from an A in the course but I did not kiss her rearend so I am not gonna get the A I so rightfully deserve! She has a nasty attitude towards everyone who isnt on her Best Friend list!
If you read the book and follow directions, you'll be fine. She's funny and usually has no problem helping or explaining an assignment.
Seemes very nice at first but her personality is like dr jekyll and mr hyde. Very nice outside of class but a witch in class.

Better off in a elementary setting. Does not have emotional intelligence for collegiate level.
she is helpful if you put forth the effort and interact in class. sometimes moody, though overall a nice person.
She gives an extreme amount of BUSY work; it's not hard but it is very time demanding and stressful.
She is a horrible teacher, whatever you do, dont take her, She is the most bias and unprofessional teacher ever. One more time , do not take her.
picks favorites, should be teaching high school where yelling at students is acceptable. completely unprofessional outside her peers while with students. should be fired.
definately picks favorites. totally biased and not at all open minded or considerate to students situations or needs.
I don't understand what everyone is talking about. I didn't think she was moody. I enjoyed her class. She is clear and makes the material interesting.
Way too much busy work. The class was like grade school, not hard, but just a lot of nonsense. She has a lacking sense of humor.
To become a favorite: Turn in ALL work ON TIME DO NOT be late when an assignment is due! READ THE BOOK! She likes when you answer questions in class. The material she presents is really clear, assignments are easy. Don't get hung up on pretty visuals for presentations & say only what the seller asks about. Not THAT bad, and I wasn't a favorite
She is very strict about talking with other students in other sections - if you ask someone about a test she considers that cheating. Follow all directions to the letter. Study REALLY hard. She has always been in school - not "real world" experience which is apparent at times. She follows theory more than practicality.
The best class I have taken at UCF, period. The skills she teaches can be used immediately in the real world. Study, do well on the presentations (she gives you a list of what she is looking for!), and you'll be fine.
one of the classes i worked the hardest at ucf, only to pass with a c (im a a/b student). Very moody and takes it out on the class. Lots of unnecessary outside busy work. Difficult tests and grades hard on role-plays. Impossible to get a hold of. Never in her office or checks her email. TAKE SOODER=EASY/FUNNY
i really like her. can't say i have fallen asleep in her class, she makes you laugh and keeps it interesting. i'm still in the class, but so far the assignments have been to-the-point and she only expects you to be professional. i agree, the things she teaches you can take directly to the real world and use. i'd recommend her.
the worst teacher ever do yourself a big favor and never take this class!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not my favorite, that's for damn sure. I wouldn't recomend her!!!! Take someone else and AVOID her if possible. Picks favorite, tough luck for the rest of the bunch!!!! Reconsider taking her!!!!!
She's full of it

Very picky professor, would not recommend her at all. Very bad choice if you have to take this class, try something else.
Selling part was not really 'hard' just made me really nervous. Very peachy lady and polite. Still sends emails about job opportunities!! Read notes and tests will be fine
If you're going to take this class you need only remember this simple motto, "SHE NEVER MAKES MISTAKES." She has her favorites and getting an A is very difficult if you do not fall into that category. It's unfortunate when an instructor cares more about giving him/herself heirs than they do about the overall course content. Please reconsider...
The worst class I've ever taken at UCF. She gives you an incredible amount of work....and after all that hard work...you end up with a damn "C" and that of course if you are lucky. AVOID HER IF POSSIBLE. IT IS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE
Has absolutely zero professionalism. She actually gave names as well as wrote them on the board of local companies whom she had had conflicts in the past with and then told students not to do business with them. In addition, she passed out handouts with the wrong dates displayed and told us it was our fault for not recognizing her mistake.

moody but helpful
I thought she was great. there are a TON of little assignments that suck, but they take more time than effort.
you have to work for your grade but no other class will teach you this much about the real world. every assignment is there for a reason. she's a fair grader, just study and PRACTICE for your presentations.
Not one of UCF's best that's for sure.....
Lots of assignments in comparison to the other 3391 prof. Hard grader. Can cop an attitude occassionally. This happens when class trys to contest grades. Good luck.
Intro to business class with three tests, one group paper, one five-point extra credit assignment. Seemingly easy multiple-choice tests are made a little difficult due to the ambiguity of the possible answers. You will need the book. Lots of guest speakers! Gundy makes the classes interesting, and in class quizzes help with the grades. If you atte
She kept you in the class the whole time. She was a good teacher but her tests were really hard. I studied for atleast 3 days for each test and i would get a B. I never missed class either. Make sure you read every tiny detail in the book cause a lot of the questions come from it. 99% of the people i talked to in my class agreed with me on how are
hard tests, unnecessarily hard grader on role plays
Really great professor, just a really hard grader. I learned a lot, but I studied a lot for hard tests. Practice a lot for Role plays because she is the hardest out of the professors. Willing to help you at all times. Lots of real world experience in there
She grades REALLY hard...the class teaches important things but she really needs to grade easier considering we've never done these roleplays before
She definitely does indeed pick favorites, although the criterion is often undefined. Her moods tend to vary from day to day which unfortunately she brings out on the class. Test is interpreted on her part so I would highly recommend setting an appointment to view your tests results if you feel that you in fact did better.
She expects you to be perfect on your role plays and does not grade accordingly. Almost impossible to get an A. Her tests are very ambiguous and grades do not reflect actual performance. She picks favorites and if you are not one of them then you're screwed. She also favors the females in the class so good luck men. TAKE AS A LAST RESORT ONLY!
incredibly hard grader, words can not describe. She claims that her grading is not biast but I see no evidence to support this. Prepare to get your nose brown
Out of all of the courses I've had at UCF this one was by far the worst. Grades are based on her own personal assessment that are clearly subjective rather than being objective like the role plays. She is naturally defensive of her standards so trying to discuss a specific grade may be deemed impossible. Recommend switching majors before enrolling.
Excellent professor, there is no slacking in this class, its challenge but you learn a lot of very useful skills. Tests are mostly free response but they come right out of the notes in class. Role plays are a challenge but better than another exam. Very tough grader but she is very sweet and will help you with anything you need. Highly recommended!
Good news... she is not on the coca-cola bandwagon nemore. Online quizzes extremely hard. Must have the textbook to answer the questions. Very boring teacher and in this class i learned how mnay rush strokes it took to paint the wall. Don't take in summer. 8 hours a week in summer is to much. Also dont expect to get out early.
Horrible teacher. Must read every inch of textbook (which is the worst textbook I've ever read), must attend class, and read chapters prior to quizzes. Her attitude comes off as a really caring teacher, but when you have a problem she tells you more or less to help yourself. Wastes time with a lot of her guest lecturers. Take someone else!
Got a B- in Summer A, alot of reading to keep up with, class time is almost a waste of time. Some days are interesting she has lots of speakers and shows video clips often which are humorous but overall a waste of time. Online quizes were a little difficult but she does offer bonus points if you do some experiment. She gets a C-
Excellent teacher. Doesnt really favor anyone. people who say she does pretty much never participated or showed up so they felt that way (trust me i talked to a lot of ppl saying that) she is crazy about grammar, Extremely helpful with any problems you have. you will have to actually study and participate! Welcome to college!
Most rediculous teacher EVER, doesn't care about your grades & is completely full of herself! Waits till the end of the semester to start grading so it piles up on her. She messed up my grades 3 times, and i couldnt prove one, so i DID NOT receive credit!!! Keep all your papers but she's NEVER wrong so dont even try to argue! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!
I have never rated a professor before because I am very easy going. Usually, I just deal with bad teachers. Gundy is the biggest hypocrite I have ever met. She claims to be professional but is everything but. She helped me remember why sales people have been generally given a bad name.
2nd time I had her, this semester for Sports Marketing. Made class very interesting and entertaining, lots of real world experience through in-class speakers, very kind and caring. Test are a little difficult and the final project is challenging, but I highly recommend her as a fantastic professor and a great class to take!
Gundy is absolutely ridiculous. She is ALWAYS right, even when she ISN'T. The tests were pretty hard b/c you have to memorize all of the notes. Did not really use the book. So much busy work as well. She is a pretty hard grader. I would not take her again!
Like many students have said, she can be a bit too harsh when it comes to grading. Don't expect an easy A...or an A at all. On the positive side her class is def. not boring. She has a lot of guest speakers/companies who are interested in recruiting us.
I took her for sports marketing. She does explain she is anal, so do expect that in her grammer. Her tests are hard and since 90% of her classes are special guests she is horrible at lecturing, you must read the textbook for the tests. Not the worst I've had but I wouldn't take her unless I had to. She has a short fuse and DOES plays favorites.
Horrible professor. Does not respond to emails. I had a death in the family and emailed her, she requested proof. I sent her the proof and she still would not allow me to make up the class. HEARTLESS professor who doesn't know how to lecture so she has tons of guest speakers. Her tests are HARD and total textbook. Class is easy to fall asleep in.
Professional Selling is Gundy's passion and if you are serious about your career, take her! Be prepared to spend $$$ on business cards, stationery, networking events, etc. You will work HARD. Lots of uplifing guest lecturers. Read the book or you will be lost on the tests. This class should be worth more credits!
Thats the most busy work ive ever had to do, you need to memorize the slides and notes word for word, half pt for EACH spelling/gramer mistake. Does not care about sickness or death, she will not let you make anything up. Be sure your on the favorite list. Lectures are entertaining but of not help for exams. wasted money on stationary thats require
All I have to say is that you should only take Gundy if Professional Selling is your entire world because it is hers for sure. Only way you can get even a decent B on job shadow assignment is to be freakin' Shakespeare it seems. If you have to take this class and have the option take someone else for sure.
I don't understand where all the hate for Gundy is coming from... yeah she is hard and the anal factor is up there, but if you show the least bit of effort and that you actually care about improving your selling skills, she will make it worth your while. There is a ton to take away from this class, you just gotta put in the work
This class was a lot of work. Not sure if anyone got an A, but I think it is possible. I worked hard and got a B+. The people who complain are those who slack and instead of putting in the effort to do well. I loved this class, every "busy work" assignment had a purpose. Work hard and do well. That's all there is to it.
This professor is the worst I've had so far.... not flexible she wastes time asking people to participate and does not concentrate in the class... I have learned nothing in this class... do not take her she is nice in the class but when you talk to her in her office she is b..ch... and does not help at all....
this teacher writes her own comments Seriously think about itwho actually writes a comment saying that u have to work a lot? She does 6 chapters per test she had 3 test worth 120 The average of her class was 70 in a 200+ class She gave like 3 points of extra credit once n she claims that she did us a favor This lady cant teach do not waste ur $500
Most difficult exams and quizzes ever, as a professional she is good, as a teacher she is the worst. She goes off topic always. Stay away from her, she will mess up ur gpa.
Very difficult and not because I did not study, I studied all day for the exams read the entire book we were supposed to buy, and the exams and quizzes (especially the quizzes) are so unfair. We get quizzed on material we weren't even supposed to have read yet. She always gets off topic and starts up conversations that contribute nothing.
Quizzes were insane, didn't contribute to what you were learning. The tests were semi-hard. She did give up to 33 points extra credit. This is a mediocre course. This teacher is very good at teaching it, and is very clear.
The worst Prof @ UCF. She hates to give out A's and don't expect a B either. She doesn't give you time to do the online quizzes and only gives you one try. Unfair, esp. when other marketing profs give you more chances & time. Class average on one exam was a 67%. Exams are hard and don't follow the study guide, you might as well burn it :)
The test and quiz questions can some time be difficult to interpret, but she is a really fun teacher that got me really interested in marketing. Go to class!! 1/6 of the test have questions from stuff done in class
Mrs. Gundy is an amazing professor. She is very difficult. If you are not willing to work- don't take her. Her goal is to prepare her students for the "real" world. I found her very interesting. Personally, I look for teachers who challenge me- she is definitely one of them. She wrote a book "Life as a Hard Grader" if that tells you anything.
One of the most unpleasant teachers ive ever had. She is impossible to please. Never take her, seriously, if you can pick another professor, then do it! Accuses people of cheating without a justifiable cause! Makes you do more outside and busy work that is pointless. She thinks she owns you!
Go to class on time and every time. Have 16 people check your assignments for grammar! (I failed one for grammar.) Role plays need to be well organized. Plan ahead. Be prepared to spend money on business cards, events, stationary, and a suit. Tests are fairly difficult. I got a D and retook with Mr. Sooder & got an A. Still, a VALUABLE TEACHER!
Mrs. Gundy is an extremely dedicated professor to UCF.It's her life's goal to challenge students to levels they never thought possible.Every student had a few sleepless nights because of her class alone.Sometimes you feel like Mrs.G thinks this is your only class and stacks the work load high. You will learn a lot, but boy oh boy it can be painful.
SHe is the worst teacher ever. Yeah she knows her**** but to tell you the truth she really needs to chill out. I don't like how she treated people at all. She is too demanding and never answers her emails and when you ask her a questions she answers it with an attitude. She praises so much professionalism but the way she treats people is not right
pay attention to the lectures and MEMORIZE ALL the lists for the exams and you will be fine. lots of guest speakers but its a nice break from usual lectures. prepare and practice for your role plays. can be very nerve racking if your not. extra credit was easy. and the home work and assignments were a joke. shes a good prof. expressive personality
Gundy is a good professor. she cares about her students and everything she does is for a reason. go to class for assignments and the notes. you will have to spend extra money on business cards, stationary, networking events, and a suit. if you do what she asks she is happy to help you look for a job and always emails out open positions
Useful/Interesting class, overall good teacher. Don't miss class, don't be late, and be careful of assignment deadlines!! She grades hard on assignments so don't miss any in class quizzes/homework that will help your grade in the end, do the extra credit.
The lectures are truly forgetful she goes on and on and her teaching style in this class is really boring and dull. This class is a waste of time because she talks about everything you already know and she makes it hard to score an A. The first exam only average a C and she said that is normal.
Gundy is amazing! If you want to be prepared for the real world then take this class. People who complain about her expect this to be another class where you can show up and regurgitate facts. Gundy actually challenges you to explore the business world and be a professional. Tests are difficult but all the other assignments cushion your grade.
She is a horrible instructor. Nobody would ever listen to her BS in the real business world. Unrealistic expectations, and demanding. The only professor I truly regret having taking a class with. I had a 4.0 till her.
Great teacher/Life Mentor. Sets high expectations and presents them clearly. Shares life experiences during class making class interesting and enjoyable. You will feel at some point that shes being hard on you but shes just challenging you and if you show that your up for the challenge this program will change your life. I recommend her
Mrs. Gundy is an amazing professor! Sure, she can be challenging sometimes but she prepares you extremely well for the real world. The lessons learned from Gundy are valuable lessons I will never forget. She is more than just a professor. She is a mentor, friend, coach. If you want a fun challenge in your life, take Gundy. I HIGHLY recommend her.
I HIGHLY recommend her!
Everyone makes her sound harder/scarier than she actually is. Yes this class is demanding but it gives you a lot of valuable tools. Unlike other classes where you receive a good grade but learned nothing from it. It is not impossible to get an A, but that does not mean you're going to work for it. Also, do all the extra credit it adds up at the end
Her teaching style is just plain dumb. She grades hard so her students can learn, but then doesn't even review the tests with them, or show them the tests, so they never know what they did wrong. If you ask her a question, she will be so rude w/her answer. You'll think she's good when you first start class, then you'll find out her true colors
Study her powerpoints and listen in class and you will do well on tests. Many test questions will be about something she said in class or a video, picture, etc you say in class. The final project is challenging and heavily critiqued. She is a very tough grader. However overall not a bad class I'd take another class with her if I had to
She makes you do alot of things you wouldn't think of but end up helping you in thw real world. She takes a real world look at things and put them in terms of school. Shes a great professor if you ready to tranfer from school mindset to a work mindset
very busy professor.talks fast and accuses you of bombarding her with questions if you want to ask for clarifications.keeps exams for months before posting grades, yet get defensive if you ask when she will post them.no room for error.you will get a 0 for late assignments no matter the reasons.can be very condescending towards students.
This professor is awful in terms of grading, gives you countless assignments and projects to do which requires you to spend a lot of money, in addition to the pricey book. Better buy the book im taking entertainment marketing and she purposely makes the exams hard by making 75% of the exam from case studies in the text. Regret taking this class
Really not an easy class. Her grading is rediculous and her assignments are never ending. The one professor I wish I never took. Dont get me wrong, you will learn a lot with her and get goot experience. But she will give you assignments that are difficult to complete unless you have nothing else to do besides school. Avoid her.
I never rate any professor..but this was a must!! STAY AWAY FROM HER!!! She does not go over anything..says she will provide guidelines for project and never does YET STILL grades hard as if she did provide the sheet in class. Its a ridiculous class for being an elective. Dont take Gundy!
I NEVER rate professors but I would like to believe i might save someone with this review. Firstly, her exams are IMPOSSIBLE to pass DOESNT MATTER HOW MUCH YOU STUDY. NEVER got higher than a C in her exams. Never in my life have i met a professor that i absolutely hate the way i do her. Doesnt care about her students. WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!!
Most,y guest speakers the whole time! Asks e most random question on quizzes&test. Have to read supplement book along with text. Flips out if you ask about grades and hard to get ahold for any type of question. Rushes out of class. Grades hard on project and very unclear on what she wants, have to buy staionary &cards and sells tickets. Hard class!
I just finished this class today. Honestly, she's not as bad as everyone says. That being said, she expects a lot. The assignments will make any introvert immediately uncomfortable. She expects you to spend a lot of time working on assignments outside of class. Role plays at the end are brutal. Do as much extra credit as possible. Text is useless.
She embodies everything you don't want in a college professor: 1. Poor disorganized teaching 2. Unhelpful and intimidating toward students 3. Testing which is not based on what she teaches 4. An unshakeable belief that none of the above is true and she is a respected and excellent professor. Avoid her at all costs!
Honestly I wasn't impressed with her teaching style. Felt like all she did was bring in guest speakers to avoid teaching. She isn't very understanding of students and is sometimes kinda rude. I would avoid if possible. Also, gives a semester long group project that is extremely time consuming.
I had Gundy for Entertainment and Prof. Selling. I was excited before class. I HATE these now. She is useless, rude, never available, wont give credit for what you deserve, and tests on, literally, the most obscure, inapplicable stuff. Extremely fake friendly and very unprofessional. Avoid like the plague. Class is impossible. Test average>70.
I honestly enjoyed her class, she really tries to give you knowledge for the real world. Yes, sometimes it is a little over the top, but I took everything she said into consideration. The tests really are not that hard, but she does grade her projects tough, bc she wants them to be as real and professional as they will be when you have the job.
Really great class! She works you hard but this was one of the most helpful classes I have taken at UCF. Buy the book, and do the extra credit. Attend class as well, she does in class exercises that are easy points to help your grade
Ms Gundy is maybe the best teacher i have ever had for teaching real world knowledge. She is not a text book teacher in the slightest but the skills i have learnt i will use throughout my entire business career. She is strong minded and someone you can learn from. I recommend her as a teacher 110%. Her exams are not hard if you attend class.
Mrs Gundy is very interesting to listen to and she does encourage networking through extra credit assignments. That said, her tests are subjective/hard and students in the professional selling program would tell you to take another teacher to ensure a good grade or get in the program. Fun class, but tough teacher with no sympathy
Great Professor! Work for your grade, has many opportunities for extra credit.
If there is a worse professor, I don't want to imagine him/her. She is living proof that there is no standards for job performance in the university tenure system
350 characters isn't enough space to give specific reasons why Gundy is the worst professor I've had at UCF. I feel like most people on here are just complaining because they got a bad grade for one reason or another but this isn't the case with her. She is the least fair grader of all time and lied to my class on multiple occasions.
Way too many hoops to jump through for the assignments. They are not writing assignments, not question based assignments, they take up so much outside time that it is almost impossible. If you have a job, do not take her. One of her assignments involves selling tickets to a sporting event for a grade. Plenty of EC but takes weeks to complete. NO.
If you work hard then you will be rewarded in this class-simple as that. If you whine and moan about all the outside of class stuff she wants you to do then perhaps you're really a philosophy major.
The class is great. Professor has excellent lectures, but very POOR one on one skills with students. She is very rude. Don't approach her with any questions or concerns about the material, the lecture, or group project. She speaks down to you.
Professor Gundy is amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed her class. She is a tough grader and expects a lot of work to be put in from her students. She is consistent, though, and has quickly become my favorite professor.
She mostly talked about her life in class and did not mention anything that we needed to know for exams. Exams were really hard, average in class was 65. Grading of assignments is not fair, she mostly grades out of her likedislike of a person. Don't take this class
Isn't hard conceptually, but it's just like an AP class in terms of the workload. Do things right the first time, because the extra credit is more time consuming than the actual assignments. Two tests - average difficulty. Makes you jump through hoops. Only allowed to be late 3 times before you "can't stay" for class. ATTENDANCE NECESSARY.
I have never written a review but I had to for her. She is the WORST professor I have ever had. Did well in the class but she goes out of her way to look for reasons to lower your grade. She seems like she is willing to help students but in reality she is fake and rude. She basically uses the class to make herself feel important.
This professor won't fix her own mistakes after "two weeks". Also the tests are "tough" because she tests on COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT material. She talks mostly about herself the entire semester so any actual course information you'll be tested on comes from the (sorry excuse for a) book. Make sure you stay on top of her grade inputs on webcourses.
The class is horrible. The lectures give you very little information about marketing in the entertainment industry. Rather learn more about marketing instead of just boring stats of the industries. As big as movies and music are in entertainment, we get two lecture days of each. Why is shopping covered in class? I don't care about student opinions.
I have been saving this class for my last semester because it is what I was most excited for, but Gundy definitely ruined this for me. Her only experience in the industry is working at a book store. You can tell how outdated her info for the class was going to be. Lecture are students' shared experiences. She has almost none except from a basic.
Content is interesting enough, but Gundy makes the class way harder than it should be. Tests on SMALL details from book+class lectures. I'm a straight A, honors student who is going to get a B. 7 person group project- didn't warn us about one of the due dates (buried in a paragraph in the rubric) so we lost 10% of that grade before really starting
Literally the worst class I have taken at UCF, first ever teacher review, but she was so terrible I had to let everyone know. You will learn nothing, but you have to go to class because anything she says (jokes, random tidbits) might be on the test. Avoid taking her unless you hate yourself.
This is my 2nd class with Professor Gundy and I cannot say enough good things about her. Sure, she's a tough grader. Sure, you have to work for your grade. But I suffer from extremely severe ADD and find her lecture style extremely easy to pay attention to, leading me to doing well on exams and not having a problem with the rigor of the course.
As everyone said, tough grader, but it's manageable. She seems nice until you actually have a problem or questions her on anything, then she kind of becomes rude. I don't like when you can't reason with a teacher. The absolute worst part is that she takes FOREVER to grade things and then not put them in the webcourses.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER! I don't how this kind of people can exist! She grades based on whether she likes you or not. If you need help SHE WOULD BE EXTREMELY RUDE TO YOU. SHE IS SO RUDE, SHE ONLY CARES ABOUT HER, AND SHE BS A LOT! DO NOT TAKE HER, AND IF YOU ARE ONE MINUTE LATE, SHE WOULD POINT AT YOU IN FRONT OF THE CLASS. HATE HER WITH MY LIFE!!!!!!
The biggest joke of a professor I have ever experienced. She treats her class like kindergarten, crossword puzzles, etc. Then she expects you to know every minute detail from the book and lecture. All she does is talk about herself and then asks students to do the same. No experience in the industry, no idea how she still has a job here. DONT TAKE!
DO NOT TAKE HER, seriously I never say this on reviews but people should be warned. If you're 30 seconds late to class she'll kick you out, even though she is late frequently. Has no idea how to teach you have to teach yourself everything. Asinine projects, spend so much money on her stupid assignments. Never uses webcourses, takes forever to grade
Gundy is a sales rep for the professional selling program. The class is just a feeder for the sales program the college is trying to push, also it's mandatory for MAR majors. It's classic bait and switch. She is all inspiring and motivational for the first few weeks of class, then in the back half, she checks out and doesn't care about the student.
Treats every student like a Kindergartner. If you are 30 seconds late she kicks you out. She rambles on about stories and doesn't teach anything. Needless networking assignments where you have to write cards and mail them to business professionals. The least helpful professor I have ever had. Most hassle for learning absolutely nothing. Run.
This class involves a lot of work! She is always there to help and wants you to succeed in a career. She has a lot of connection for work after school so stay on her good side! Just be prepared to work hard! The class really prepares you for a business career, not just professional selling! HIGHLY recommended
Has a preference towards certain students in the class. Gets defensive very easily when students ask questions to simply try to understand material better.
Difficult to reach; Doesn't answer or return phone calls or emails. Practice what you preach Ms. Gundy. Wouldn't recommend this instructor
If you miss class you arnt missing anything but attendance is small part of grade. Hw once a week (easy till the end lowkey). Lectures she just goes over ppts. And you have a few presentations. first couple are really easy (name where you from ect) and the others on social issue (one group presentation). Shes cool, dont have too much to say!
Professor Gundy is a great professor, she is big on attendance, she encourage your participate in class discussions, she gives extra credit if you attend different meetings throughout the semester. Overall I love this class.
Professor Gundy runs a great class - big on attendance and participation. The textbook is used, but the lectures are valuable. unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for staying on top of the material.
