She is one of the worst professors I've ever had.

Cynthia Peck, so many words to describe the Admiral. She will work you and expect a lot out of you, but the best teacher who knows her chemistry that you will see, only if you apply yourself. She gets you preapared. Thanks Mrs. Peck!
she is a very undertsanding teacher who cares for she students but she is very hard and i think she expects everyone who takes her class to be chemists or engineers. that sucks!

This lady is very rude and very unhelpful. Don't take her if you plan on getting a major in CHM
She was very helpful and structured. If you study her lecture notes there should be no way to get lower than a C on the test. She pushes for your best. Good teacher
Her class is impossible to get an A in, but seems simple to pass with her BS grading scale. Tries to intimate students, but avoids confrontation. I knew that chemistry better then anyone else in that class but I could only get a B-...
If you did not do well in high school chemistry, or it’s been a long time since you’ve had it, you need to be in CHM 101. If you read and try to understand each chapter before it’s lectured upon, do the homework, ask questions, and study before each quiz
Incredibly unorganized for a chemistry instructor. Criticizes students for not asking questions, then treats you like a child for asking.

Mrs. Peck was a very nice teacher that was always willing to answer your questions in person, over the telephone, or via email. I thought she made chemistry fun and exciting. Thank you Mrs. Peck!

she is tough but is willing to help out any student in any way possible
She is one of the best teachers I have ever had the opportunity to have. Not only does she care about what your grade is, she also pushes for you very best in lecture and lab. Using many funny annecdotes and stories, she makes chemistry everyday stuff.
cares for student safety above all else. "If roads are too bad, don't come to class."
She always has interesting stories to tell. I think she tries her best to help you understand chemistry, but sometimes if you don't get it, you just don't get it!
Peck treats you like your an idiot if you ask a question or just don't get something. The way she explains things actually made it harder to understand what she was talking about. One thing good is the Chemistry Cash, she at least allows extra credit.
Mrs. Peck is a great instructor. Having her as a guest student, she is by far better than any instructor I've had at my home school for chemistry. She relates the topics so you can understand them, and helps as much as possible. She even offers EC!!!
Sure, she's tough, but you'll know your material when you're done. Just gotta do the work, ask questions, etc. Good course.
I did not like her teaching style at all. She made you feel stupid even though most of the people in her class are far from it. If your looking for an easy A this is definately not the class for you. Even if your looking for a solid B.
very willing to help students, even out of class. treats students as if they already have an understanding of material.
She's good and willing to help even when the timing isn't the best for her. gives extra credit and even study sessions if needed.
Good teacher! Very hard! MUST HAVE TIME TO STUDY OR YOU WILL FAIL!! Believe her when she tells you to break up with your signifiant other! I didn't and I paid I barely passed!
By far the best chemistry teach I have EVER had! I had her in Spring as a guest student and her class is nothing compared to the ones at my homeschool. As long as you pay attention and ask for help, you'll be fine.I didn't break up with my significant other and I did awesome I actually like chemistry now haha. I wish I had her for 112 in the summer
Mrs. Peck was helpful if and when you sought her out. She used some good analagies and was pretty amusing.
Mrs. Peck is a great instructor. Her class is difficult, but you will learn a lot i took it a year ago and i still remember everything. She is very helpful and understanding. I would recommend a study group in her class and read the materials.
One of the best teachers I have had at Delta. Is very willing to help you with any questions and goes out of her way for students. I personally have never felt safer in a chemistry lab. I would suggest her for any Chem. class.
She's really hard and expects you to work faster than is possible. She doesn't spend enough time on review and lab gets pretty frustrating.
She was very helpful and even gave me a book. She went out of her way to get me into her class and talked to the Dean to get me dropped from another chem class I was failing. Prof Peck is a babe!
She is a great teacher! You will definately learn a lot. She is the most dedicated teacher I have ever had. You can contact here anytime you want when you have a question. Great teacher!
Yes, you'll have to work hard, but if you're REALLY interested in learning about chemistry, take Mrs. Peck. She's not the meanie that people say she is, and her teaching methods can actually be quite entertaining.
She is the BEST professor that I have ever had, and I just graduated from a four year university after transfering from Delta. She knows her stuff and is a professor that actually makes you THINK...not just worried about throwing facts back down on a sheet of paper. She is AWESOME and everyone should have her as a professor. Rock on Master Peck!
Peck is the funnest and most helpful teacher I have ever had! She is always willing to help a student out outside of class. The tests are difficult, but she teaches the material really well. If you take her: class goes fast, the teaching is clear, and you will laugh a lot during lecture. My favorite teacher yet!
Mrs. Peck has really great analogies to help you learn. She will do anything for her students to learn the subject, and she's very funny! You have to work hard to do well in this class, however, but if you try you WILL understand.
If you are not a chemical process student, you have no chance of getting an A. You're on your own for labs - people get hurt all the time, including HER.
She is a good teacher, but unless you are really smart and don't have any other classes, it's near impossible to get even in the A range. Take another teacher- grading scale is unfair.
Mrs. Peck was the best Chem. teacher anyone could ever ask for. She made a difficult subject crystal clear!
She was very well prepared for class and could answer any question. She was a very funny person which lightend the mood and made the class more enjoyable. Very tough class though. requires a lot of determination and self-disipline.
She knows her stuff, but she's very strict. Helps to have a decent background in chem before taking her class. Will help anyone who is struggling, but offers no favors as far as grades are concerned.
Very strict. she comes off almost as snobbish. YOU HAVE TO GET TO KNOW HER! Laugh at her jokes, suck up in general. You will have an easier more enjoyable time in her class if you do. In fact, take Sharp, if at all possible! Hardcore studying is a must. A 4.0 is probably impossible for anyone in her class. She does know he stuff. Good luck!
NOT GOOD. Impossible grading scale to get any better than a C+. No compassion toward students. Strong willed and will NOT budge. Tests and quizzes do not reflect taught material. STAY AWAY!!!!
Worst teacher ever!! Treats you like you like you are stupid. Doesn't explain Unfair grading. Can't believe they allow her to teach!
Mrs. Peck is awesome. I had her for 101 so I got to know her because I needed help. Go to her office hours if you need help. She wants to see you succeed but you have to put forth an effort. She even gives out her cell phone number so you can call her for questions at anytime. She's awesome!
Cynthia was an awesome teacher. She is very hard, but she wants you to succeed. She is always available for help, 24/7, so if you are willing to ask for help when you need it, you CAN
Great teacher
She expects a lot from her students and gives even more of herself. She makes time to help students and uses a lot of different things in class to help us learn.
BEST teacher! I had her for spring and summer terms, so 111 and 112 all in 2 months. HARD stuff, but if anyone was ever confused she would back up and go over it again. Always there all summer at 7am when I would come in most every day for extra help. She's funny, and made the class interesting. She also made me love chemistry! Wonderful lady!
Mrs. Peck is an excellent instructor, if all instructors would teach like her all students would be successful. She always goes the extra mile. She is blessing to the education system. Wish we had more instructors like her.
Mrs. Peck is great! She is very helpful and will go out of her way to make sue you understand the material. As long as you do all of your homework and study your notes every night you will do good in the class. And when she says "Tell your family, bf/gf, wife/husband, work, friends, etc. see you at the end of the semster." That is so true!
If you can't pass her class it is because you aren't doing the work. I passed while also taking CHM 210, having a baby during my last week, and already having one kid. I don't care if anyone knows who I am, I have never had a chem professor any better. If you want an easy class, take Sharp.
BEST chemistry professor I've ever had in all my three years of science studies. She knows what she's talking about and can explain it amazingly! Do the homework (it's not much) and you'll learn the info really well, and definitely pass the class
If you actually want to be able to use the chemistry you learn in college, you'll take Mrs. Peck. Besides, she's also very attractive in an intelligent, mature woman way. Sense of humor is a plus!
She's probably the hardest "grader" of any professor I've had. I learned a lot, but it's very difficult to get an A.
Only reason I got an A was because I already knew the subject matter extremely well. Nearly all of my classmates struggled in her class, and most of them ended up getting less than desirable grades.Do not take Peck unless you are really ready for a challenge or doing a science major.
She is a terrible teacher! She makes everything harder than it has to be! None of the HW questions are on the test. She doesn’t prepare you for the test. The test are mega hard! She is super nice, funny and great personality. However she is just a terrible teacher! :(
She was the worst teacher, ever. She was almost always sarcastic and almost rude when someone tried to ask a question in my class. She was not helpful at all.
Did not like this class... I took two years of high school Chem. and had no problems... I got in this class an hated it... She always seemed to make fun of or make light of a question that people asked, or she didn't "understand" what we were trying to ask... DO NOT RECOMMEND!
She knows Chemistry extremely well but is a horrible teacher. She made me feel awful when asking questions in her class, like she didn't have time for someone who didn't have as much knowledge as her. The tests were EXTREMELY hard. I studied everyday and barely passed. If you want a chem major, and are serious, take her. Otherwise, NO.
Mrs Peck is very intelligent. She knows her stuff and cares deeply about the subject. She is always there to help students, even going so far as to provide her cell phone number. With all this said, however, chemistry is a difficult topic. Be prepared for very difficult exams and lots of studying if chemistry isn't your thing.
Chemistry take a LOT of hard studying. Professor Peck gives many wonderful resources like pre-printed notes and manuals online. She assigns Wiley due for a grade and Q's from the book which are not graded. If you do the bookwork, you'll do well on tests. She's a great teacher but HARD GRADER. If you want to learn(& go to O-Chem), take her class.
She is a very hard professor and thinks that everyone needs to devote their whole life to chemistry. She is available for help alot of the time but makes you feel like an idiot when you ask her a question. I would suggest if you could find another prof, DO IT!
Mrs Peck does know chemistry and is available for questions, but her expectation from her students is as terrible as her personality. The homework and practice problems do not reflect the level of the problems given on the test. People were afraid to ask her questions because when they did she would either attack them or make them feel stupid.
She is a very devoted chemist and teacher. She has worked in the field so she is very knowledgeable and committed in what she teaches. In order to do well in her class, you must attend class and do homework outside of class. She is very humorous and willing to help you if you're willing to put the time into it. Its not easy, but she'll help you!!
Dont do it
Ms Peck is very willing to help outside the classroom, and you will need it. Her class lectures are unclear, and very difficult to follow. She pre-writes her calculations in her notebook outside of class, then her lecture is copying down her notes on the projector. The lecture moves as fast as she can copy. Good luck!
She expects you to catch on way too fast. Expects too much from students. She brags at the beginning of class that only 60% of you will pass.
Not difficult, but you have to try, and you will learn. She loves chemistry and is very knowledgeable about what she teaches. She gives ample opportunities to give you help. Questions? Ask! She makes her own notes for you! She is an amazing person with a lot of connections if you want to go somewhere with chemistry
Prof Peck was definitely understanding when it came to missing class for important events. The class itself is definitely difficult, but she is there for her students and wants them to succeed. Take notes, wear your goggles in lab, and you will be set. She also tells great stories that serve as analogies to help students remember the material.
I really liked Professor Peck as a person. She kind of seems stern but she really wants her students to learn. Her class is very hard and it seemed as though a lot of material in tests wasn't in the practice test. You really have to do a lot of your own studying. Practice tests are very short and she doesn't upload answers. Do the book work!
The lectures are confusing, but her main problem is getting so far behind that we cant catch up. In the last 3 weeks we have 3 labs, & 3 exams (before 2 of the exams we have to learn 2 full chapters) She has no time outside of class to help, shes barely at her office hours, no answer key to the study guides & no time before tests to ask questions.
She moves too fast through lectures. She goes so quick through the notes that you don't even get the chance to comprehend what she's talking about. If you're trying to pass I'd recommend taking someone else. The help is always there if you need it but she doesn't fully explain answers to questions and makes you feel stupid for asking them.
Do not recommend taking her. She is arrogant and rude, she gets made when you ask for help and expects you to know a lot of Chemistry before hand. Will not take her again!
Her lectures were disorganized, planned poorly and had no value for understanding-simply memorization. She is disrespectful to her students and her attitude is dispassionate and apathetic. She does not clearly articulate material in her teaching, and does not care about the student's comprehension. I highly advise you avoid this professor.
CHM 111 is a HARD class, there is no teacher that makes it easy. Mrs. Peck gives you every chance to pass the class: encourages students to ask questions, relates material to real life stuff to help with clarity, cares that you do well, will NOT baby you, seek help if lost. WORK WORK WORK or fail! (If it's been a while, TAKE CHM 101 FIRST!)
Great professor
Ms. Peck is a very good professor, she will not just let you coast through, you will have to work and understand what you have done or are doing. She has lots of real life work experience from the chemical field and will share her experiences to help you better understand the materials presented.
I love her as a person, but its a hard class no matter who you take. She really tries to help in any way she can, she gave us like 3 phone numbers for her. Her sense of humor is great,. She grades tough, but she tells you exactly what she wants. People that put in all of their time and effort did great. I didn't do anything but the required stuff.
I had Peck for 111 and 112. She expects you to make this class most of your life and to pass you definitly need to make it a priority. It's a lot of material no matter which professor you get but if you take Peck you will learn it thoughly. If you're just looking to cruise through this and not absorb much then don't take her.
Master Peck was a good instructor, she is tough but that's becuase there is a lot of material to cover. I will say that if you are truly making an effort in her class she will do everything possible to help you out. I have a lot of chemistry anxiety but because of her, I will at least get a passing grade.
This class was extremely difficult but Prof. Peck does everything she can to make sure the material is understood. The content is intense and heavy so be ready to spend a lot of time studying. Labs are pretty easy, just follow instructions. Grade depends a lot on tests, which are pretty difficult.
I am a straight A student who was Valedictorian and accepted into medical school straight out of high school. I got a C+ in this class. This was the worst professor I have had in my entire life. She does not bend for you and will make the class as difficult as possible. She is a nice person, but a terrible professor.
Peck is well-known for being the worst professor at Delta. In fact, students know to avoid taking her poorly taught courses. Most people get terrible grades because she purposely grades poorly. She told me that she did very poorly in college, and thus makes it hard for her students. She also makes fake positive reviews for herself. Worst prof ever
