She is the best, I failed Math 2 times, before taking her.
Cindy is great.makes math easy and fun( hard to believe math being fun, i know). She is very helpful and answers all your questions without making you feel dumb for asking.
She is amazing teacher. she was the first teacher to actually help me get math. Now I fing it so easy she does a great job explaining stuff and she really cares about the students. Definitly take her.
Cindy Reed is so fantastic!!! She is so helpful, and really cares about her students. She makes math really fun (believe it or not) and isn't confusing at all. She does everything she can to help students do well. Her teaching style is very clear and comprehensive. It's impossible not to love her class! she's the best!!!!!
Cindy is simply one of the best teachers at moorpark, she is definitely on par with Mrs. Barker. Cindy makes math so understandable and exciting! I can't wait to take another class with her!
great teacher.. took her for both trig and calculus. very willing to help. gives take home practice tests which are really worth doing. not much chance for extra credit, you gotta study!
There are not enough words for how wonderful a math teacher Cyndy is. I put off college for 4 years because of fear of math. I did better in this class than I ever dreamed I could do in math, and it is almost all because of Cyndy. In orientation one of the first things she said was there is no question too stupid to ask. I am taking her for MO3.
One of the best math teachers I have ever had. She makes everything very clear and if you dont understand something then feel free to ask. She makes everyone feel like they asked a really good question even if you asked what 2+2. shes an amazing teacher
Professor Reed is so great. She's such an excellent teacher and she's so nice. She gives partial credit, she gives practice tests, goes to great lengths to help her students, and makes calculus enjoyable. You will love her.
Mrs. Reed is incredibly sweet and helpful. She explains everything with amazing clarity and is always willing to help. She is welcoming and an overall great math teacher. You will love her class. The class is a little fast paced, but she does all she can to make it easier for her students while still effectively teaching the material. Enjoy!
Online Class. Prof. Reed is amazing. She's very helpful & makes sure that you understand if you ask for help. She's patient & I love that she always says, "that's a great question" no matter what you ask. She reviews the test before she gives it. Lots of homework but video lectures on the CD that comes with the book makes it easy. Xtra credit avail
She is an amazing teacher! this was the first time that I actually was able to understand algebra. She isn't the easiest teacher but extremely helpful. You have to go to class almost every day because she has a lot of quizzes but just do the hw and study the practices tests a lot! and you should get an A in the class. ask her if you need help!!
Cindy is a wonderful teacher but I cannot recommend her MATHMO3 online class. It is a ridiculous, nearly impossible amount of work for nothing. If you took MATHMO1 you already know everything from this class. It is like a review with quadruple the homework. Also, as great as Cindy is her syllabus was unclear and led to confusion and lost points.
Cindy was an amazing Calculus teacher. She's been teaching for a really long time, so she knows what she's doing. My only complaint was sometimes she talked too fast. However, she was extremely positive and supportive of her students, and always very willing to help. Cindy is very fair and wants to see her students succeed.
She's amazing. Took her for online M03... yes it's a lot of work but all math classes are. I'm HORRIBLE at math but i managed to get an A. She's so helpful&caring even if we only see her for the tests she gives a practice test thats EXACTLY like the test so it's impossible to not get an A. She also gives credit for non math related things! TAKE HER
GRRRRRRRRRREAT
Online class. Took M01 online with her and loved her then, too. She's super helpful. Meet 4 times/sem for exams and to turn in homework. TONS of homework, but it's what helps you do great on the exams. Online lectures from CourseCompass are extremely clear and easy to understand and you can watch them as many times as you need to.
I am terrible at math, but her online classes are very clear and she is so helpful and nice. I have taken her online classes for Elementary and Intermdiate algebra. She does a practice test review online and also reviews when you come in to take the test. I would recommend this teacher!
Amazing teacher! I had her for her online class, and everything was easy. You can take quizzes as many times as you'd like, and there is extra credit available. Tests are easy, and her practice tests are similar to her actual tests. I recommend her!!
She's got to be one of the best math teachers I've ever met. Lectures more than clear - she will make sure everyone's on the same page before jumping into the next subject. Willing to spend extra time if you need additional help. Tests/Quiz questions are variations of homework so if you want to get a good grade just make sure you do the homeworks
Helpful, not always understanding.
I highly recommend Cynthia Reed's online class. She is extremely helpful, offers extra credit and practice test are on point! Stay on top of homework and do quizzes.
She's very nice and helpful, but very unforgiving when it comes to grading. No notes or calculators on tests. Extra credit totalled to 10 measly points, which does nothing for your grade. All the points are made of up of tests or quizes. If you slip up on one test you're pretty much screwed.
One of the worst teachers I've ever had. She seems very friendly, and is helpful, but is one of the harshest graders I've ever had. Just when you think you've done well on a test, you find out you got a C. Even getting A's on all homework and quizes won't help your grade. Avoid her if you value your GPA at all.
I love this teacher, I took her online intermediate algebra class and I got an A, there are a lot of extra credit opportunities and her practice tests are VERY similar to her actual tests, quizzes are easy and you can take them as many times as you want to achieve a high score. i would definitely recommend taking her for math!!!
Difficult. DOES NOT ALLOW calculators. Must attend. Moves fast. Very confusing. Forgets to explain important aspect of algebra then goes back to explain later. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Mrs. Reed is one of the best teachers at Moorpark College!! She is extremely helpful and clear. The class moves at a fast pace but she will drop your lowest test and quiz! I usually hate math, but she made it very painless.
Professor Reed is one of the best teachers at Moorpark College! She is extremely helpful and clear. I kept my lecture notes and refer to them all the time for other math classes. She is amazing. No Calculators....
Really awesome teacher. I hate math and she makes it really easy to get. Gives out practice tests that are exactly like the exams, and she goes over them right before the tests. It's really easy to get an A as long as you try. She gives every opportunity to do so.
I really stuggle with math and always have, Mrs Reed makes it really easy to understand. She gives practice tests right before the real tests that are very similar. I took her online class and thought it was very clear and easy to understand.
I have never been interested in math at all. I took Math M03 with Reed & was actually EXCITED to go to class! (Not normal for me at all). After taking M03, I decided to take M05 with her as well. She is EXTREMELY helpful & teaches tricks to remembering formulas which I will remember for the rest of my life. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!
I HATE math so much. I hadn't even taken algebra for 6 or 7 years and I have such a hard time with it. Reed definitely makes it as clear as possible and she's very friendly. I got a B in her class (actually a Pass) but I didn't do any homework, which probably would have been helpful. Take her! :)
I can't say enough good things about professor Reed. She's very kind, and extremely helpful. She wants you to do good. She can be a little tough, but always fair. If you have difficulty in Math, or just want what literally could be the very best Math professor at Moorpark, take her. Thank you Professor Reed!
I took the hybrid class and impressed with her teaching. She is very clear and will always help you if you do not understand the material. She sends out practice test and quizzes before the real ones so you are able to really study what will be on the test. Great Teacher!
I took the Intermediate Algebra online course but had to go to school for tests. She is an AMAZING teacher. She knows her stuff, answers questions quickly via email and goes over practice test prior to actually taking the test. The tests are exactly like the practice tests but with different problems. GREAT TEACHER!!!
I did the hybrid course and loved it! I thought this was going to be my least favorite class of the semester, but it was the most enjoyable! She was very helpful and has a great way of explaining the material so that I could remember it! I would take her again if possible! The My Math Lab code is the only thing you need, I barely used the book
I took her in the summer college algebra course. it was only a 4 week course so we were absolutely flying through the material. Cynthia truly cared about every single person's grade in this class. she was an amazing teacher and i would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn the material. she was not an easy A, but definitely an easy B
Cynthia was a really great math teacher. Ive always struggled with math but the way she teaches her class is very easy to understand and she always makes sure every person understands. Also one of the sweetest teachers ive ever met.
Definitely take this class. This was the first time i received an A in a math class in the longest time and it was all her! She really wants you to understand all the material, and she doesn't like to surprise you with difficult problems on the test. She is very nice and fun, and will get you through this math class very easily! :)
Great teacher! So helpful that I was able to understand everything right as it was taught. As a result I hardly needed to use the textbook. Would take her again if she taught higher than pre-calc.
very very good teacher, teaches well and cares about you passing the class. great teacher to have if you aren't good at math. as long as you do everything in the class, study you will get an A or B.
Amazing math teacher as long as you do the group work and quizzes your fine WATCH THE MATH VIDEOS before test and youll do fine trust!
One of the BEST math instructors I've ever had. She is very clear in lecture, always willing to help, lenient, and extremely nice. This is a pretty challenging class (I won't say difficult because when you put in the hard work and studying you'll see the results). Her tests are fair and homework is easy points. GET HER AS YOUR PROFESSOR!
She moves way too fast don't take her
Mrs. Reed was great. I took her MO3 class (which I failed 3 times in the past until her class). I took the hybrid, half online half in class. She made everything really easy to understand. She does assign A LOT of homework she usually gives you 4 days to do like 100+ questions. But she provides a review & review sheet for the test! Take her! :)
This professor goes way too fast her notes didn't help at all basically have to teach yourself isn't clear and is just way too fast you tell her to slow down doesn't listen
This professor moves way too fast and its hard to understand. The notes didn't help you copy them down and shes already done with the problem I had to watch her do it and then write it down don't take her I barely passed
She moves way too fast.
I'm sorry but she just goes by way too fast and you pretty much need to teach yourself. I'm taking her now during summer and I seriously do not think I will pass at this rate. Just an overall bad teacher which is too bad because she's very nice :/
Professor Reed is one of the most amazing math professors there is. I took her class twice, and she is always there for you to help you better understand the material. Hybrid class is mainly self paced, participate in discussion and do extra credit. Drops your two lowest quizzes. I would take Professor Reed for all of my other math classes if I co.
Cynthia Reed is one of the best math teachers I have had (especially at Moorpark College). She's clear, organized, and very helpful. She breaks down every step of the problem and is happy to clarifyexplain when students ask questions. She does NOT do some of the steps in her head like some math professors. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Professor Reed is one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She is very detailed in her lectures and notes, and very willing to answer questions. Definitely recommend her.
Took a hybrid class and ended up not learning much. If you take this teacher it is best to do it in a live classroom. The class tutor was bad, the homework online was never ending. I liked the teacher but she has no time to teach you, and her videos move too fast and explain too little!!
professor, Reed is one of the most smartest professor I ever have. she always gives a excellent feedback and gives extra credit. Her class is amazing, the didactict she uses is perfect for every one. read the book before class and watch the videos and you will get A's. on top of that, Emma, the Tutor is really helpful.
Took professor Reed for m05 in a 4 week summer school course. If you are not willing to dedicate these 4 weeks strictly to studying and doing hw you will most likely not pass bc the quizzes are from the hw. I did all my hw, and always asked her SI Jordan for help (he was the best) she's a good teacher but a tough grader! &Test are also hard.
Awesome teacher!! Made the unbearable task of a math class totally bearable and semi enjoyable. Online class so a lot of HW, but it was alright. Would take again, if I really had to :p
Reed is an amazing teacher! She's super sweet and helps you. Show up to class, do your homework, ask questions and you're set. There's quizzes each week including group work (extra credit) to help boost your grade. 3 tests and one final. Take her you won't regret it!! I look forward to taking other math classes with her in the future.
VERY THOROUGH IN EXPLAINING LESSON. MAKES IT EASY TO UNDERSTAND. ALWAYS CHEERFUL. QUIZ EVERY WEEK, ONLY 5 PROBLEMS. HOMEWORK IS FOR PRACTICE, NOTHING TURNED IN. WILL BE TAKING HER CLASS FOR M01.
She runs through the lecture pretty quick so you can miss some explaining but if you ask her she will explain it again. She was fun and always happy. I did her hybrid class so tests were in class and homework was online. If you have a basic understanding the homework isn't hard. Tests are easy if you know you're stuff and not many questions.
I don't know how she walks into class with a smile on her face everyday. She has made math so easy for me, and if you still don't understand her as much as I do, she's happy to help. Assigns homework but it's optional, and it really does help!
She is really nice but if you are bad at math I would strongly suggest another teacher. She tried to help me but I ended up failing. But once again she is very nice and she wants to help! Just make sure that you have time for homework and studying and that you are not helpless at math.
I took her for both M01 and M03 and it was relatively easy. I have trouble with math but she explains it in a way that you can better understand it. If you do the homework and the study guides, its an easy A.
If you are terrible at math like me, I would strongly consider taking another prof. She is very nice but goes way too fast in her lectures. Other students I asked felt the same. No extra credit, no dropped tests, very little opportunity to catch up if you don't do well on the first test. Do all the homework and don't miss lectures.
Cynthia is one of the sweetest ladies on the planet, pretty sure. She's crystal clear on how to do each math problem step-by-step, has lots of "slick tricks" for math that helped me out a BUNCH, and will go over a problem as many times as you need to understand it (plus her open office hours). And above all, she applauds you for your successes! :D
Actually made math tolerable. Willing to explain anything (even the stupid questions), and gives detailed lectures that are surprisingly easy to follow. She talks a bit fast but that's ok since she's so thorough. If you need extra help she's always welcoming and friendly at her office hours. She uses ALEKS for hw and drops the lowest test score too
Professor Reed was an amazing teacher. She has been teaching the class for a long time but instead of getting bored of it like most professors, she is a better teacher for it. Her lessons are clear and easy to follow. If you do the online homework and go to class, it should be an easy A
Cynthia Reed is a wonderful, understanding math professor. Her lessons are taught kinda quickly, but she does give you plenty of time to ask questions. She makes learning in the class fun by coming up with tricks to memorizing important math methods that work really well! Missing this class is not recommended because you could miss crucial info.
if your horrible at math, Cynthia reed is not a good teacher. why? you can't really ask her for help after class she jets outta there like a student. also you have a quiz every week witch is ight but if you miss class thats it your lost. Basically teach yourself and any professor will do you good. Would i take her again? NO!
Professor Reed is the best math teacher I have ever had. She demonstrates the math section in various ways for everyone to understand. Don't count on skipping this class and do the homework weekly! There are three chapter exams and one final. DO the practice exam packets as many times until you're comfortable, what's on the packet is on the test.
Prof. Reed isn't my favorite person, but she gets you your grade. HW doesn't get handed in but I pass my exams because of it. Goes really fast so if you're in a difficult class & need time to understand don't take her! Lot's of group work during class, which is very helpful! DO the review papers for exams, it's almost the exact same as the exams.
She is not a good professor! DO NOT TAKE HER!! I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE HER!! If you struggle in math DO NOT take her. She teaches really FAST!!!!!!!!!! I asked multiple times to slow down and she doesn't. She does not put in 100% while she is teaching. It seems like she doesn't want her students to do well. STAY AWAY.
This was the first time i've ever done well in a math class thankful to Prof. Reed. She shows you little tricks to help you understand the material, offers a ton of extra credit, and is so pleasant to be around. Be aware that if you take class requiring ALEKS, it is time consuming and frustrating at times. Do all the homework/quiz's , they add up!
I had to work my tail off just to get a C. I spent 15hrs+/week online doing homework, no joke. Extra credit helps a little and she drops lowest test score and replaces it with final if you happen to do better. 4 tests were C,F,D, and F on final. Did all the HW and Quizzes weekly and showed up every class. That's why I came out with a C. Good luck.
She goes way too fast, if you need time to absorb math she won't slow down for you. She answers HW questions and does a lot of group work, very helpful. But I wasn't pleased with her performance as a teacher. I spent most of my time at the math center trying to understand everything and got myself an A, but wasted a lot of my time on extra hours...
I have always sucked at math and this teacher really knows how to reach and teach anyone. She has great techniques and tricks. All quizzes are based of the homework and she does not try to trick you she is straight forward. Do the review and you will pass all the tests. I would highly recommend her if you have always struggled with math.
great professor and teaches very well. i came into her class and haven't taken math for two years so that was a big mistake on my part. if you've taken intermediate before her college algebra class then you'll do great. she wants you to do good but does go fast during lectures but will slow down and explain if you're confused
Professor Reed is outstanding, she is through answers questions and really wants to help you succeed and pass her class. That is, we vocal and ask questions. You need to do your homework, for the quizzes come directly from the homework. She has funny stories and analogys for Math that really help if you listen.
If you struggle in math, do not take this teacher. She goes VERY fast through the problems. She doesnt really "teach." It is a very fast paced class. Quizes every week. On the other hand, if you just need to refreh math skills, I can imagine this class would be great. She does not make you do any homework.
I hate to leave a negative comment, but I just don't feel like this teacher "teaches." Very fast pace class, quizzes every week, tough grader. Does not offer extra credit. I have had some amazing teachers at Moorpark, and unfortunately I feel that she lacks the passion to "teach. " Don't take if you struggle with Math.
I took her for M05. She went very fast through lectures and is very particular on how you use the x next to fractions. Her tests are hard and by test 2 half the class dropped. She had office hours during the morning before class and in afternoon and was never there. The final was a common final, the final review was 8 pages.
Very hard class.
Only take this class if you already know Algebra and you want a refresher course. This is not the class to begin learning. She shows a few problems on the overhead then you split into groups to figure out the problems assigned. You pretty much teach yourself at home doing the homework or hire a tutor in addition to attending the math lab.
I'm naturally not good at math and when I took this class it was very unhelpful. We did over 120 math problems for homework each week and they didn't even count as our grade. She gave us study guides which helped a little but most of the grading is based off tests. There are 3 tests and I dropped the classed after 2.
Very picky about every detail. Just be extra careful with your quizzes to do all carefully. If you are good at math, it won't be difficult. If not, make sure to work with the class tutor or tutoring center and do all the homework. 3 exams, a final and every lecture group work that is graded, and a quiz before leave class. All these matters for grad
One of the best math teachers at Moorpark. If you're not a hard worker and can't motivate yourself, don't take her hybrid class. But, if you are determined and not a slacker, her hybrid class is pretty simple. Work hard on the study guides, they are very very similar to the tests. On MyMathLab, always click the "show my an example" tab for HW Q's
Professor Reed is a good teacher. She is very clear about what she teaches. Also, she gives out practice test so take advantage of that because it will for sure help you on the test. The only thing I can say that I didn't like was that at times, she would teach a lecture really fast. But other than that she's a good teacher, just make sure you try!
Great teacher. Clear. Concise. Will answer any questions. Gives plenty of time to do work. Do all of your homework and do your practice exams multiple times to help pass your exams. I got a C because I didnt complete the homeworks and online quizzes. But if I dedicated more time I would have gotten an A.
Mrs. Reed was the best math teacher I've ever had! Math is my worst subject and this was still a hard class but Mrs. Reed made it so I was able to pass with an 89%. I took this over summer so it was very sped up and even though she goes very fast, she slows down to answer all questions and make sure that everyone understands. She really cares!!
Mrs. Reed was positively phenomenal. Incredibly sweet lady with awesome stories. Most importantly she was probably the best math teacher I have ever had. I took her course over summer which was extremely fast paced but she was still finding ways to make things in math I have struggled with in the past easy with her slick tricks. She's a delight.
This is one of the best professor I had and belive me I know what I am writing. She is swimming in the material like a shark. She ask for homework and gives a LOT of tricks and very helpfull
Textbook homework ranges from 45 questions for each section. Plus video workbook homework that ranges from 5 questions for each section. She checks EITHER one, not both, it feels like you end up doing math for no reason. Its also graded on 1 QUESTION she picks, if you get that question wrong you don't get credit. Not a class to have if youre busy
Great teacher, knows the material very well and gives great feedback for anyone struggling. Study the practice exams she gives out thoroughly. Some exam questions will be straight from study guide. Take good notes and work with her, a passing grade or better is achievable.
Professor Reed is the most amazing professor! She always makes class fun, and genuinely cares about her students. My class was a hybrid so we only met once a week, but she was very helpful with the sections we had to learn online. You could do the quizzes as many times as we wanted until we got the score we liked. There was a lot of homework though
DO NOT TAKE Mrs REED! She speaks extremely fast at a low volume using the same tone (will put you to sleep). Skips steps by doing the math in her head without explaining little details. She is also lazy: writes the material on a piece of paper using the projector but writes everything in one color, assigns you a problem while she texts in class
I LOVED having Ms. Reed as my math professor! I'm used to failing math a lot, yet this class was such a breeze and so easy to understand! I had a two-year gap since my last math class, yet everything was thoroughly explained and I was able to not only pass but to excel in the class!
She is very helpful. Explains very well. Ask her questions if you do not understand.
Great at explanations! I took one of her bridge classes and, honestly, I wouldnt mind taking a regular semester class with her.
The homework, quizzes and tests are all online through My Math Labs. She has multiple zoom sessions weekly which are recorded. Unfortunately, they are during the day, so it's difficult for me to attend. This does leave me to learn a bit on my own, however, she is always available for questions.
If I could have her as my prof. for math for the rest of my school career,I absolutely would. she goes above and beyond to help you succeed. Although the lectures arent mandatory, ATTEND THEM WHEN YOU CAN. She wants to see you thrive and shes great at explaining things in a way that's easy to understand. I'm really going to miss her as my prof!
I took Professor Reed's online bridge course to compliment my M01 Class, I hadn't taken math in 15 years and I felt my time in this bridge course was well spent. she was quick to answer any questions and made me feel confident in my skills to continue in my M01 class. I hope Moorpark plans to continue online courses after the pandemic ends
I took bridge to M03 class with her. While, at times, the way she spoke felt like she was teaching middle school kids, she explained things and gave the impression she really cared about our success. She answered and encouraged questions and gave good answers. Not sure how she is in semester-long class as mine was 2 days. I'd take her again.
Great professor explains math problems very well and is very patient. YOU MUST DO THE WORK IN ORDER TO PASS THE CLASS takes a lot of effort but it will be worth it in the end. Answers emails very quickly, cares about her students genuinely wants all students to do well. GO TO TUTORING IF YOU CAN IT SERIOUSLY HELPS, she gives extra credit as well
great teacher who explains each subject clearly-she wants you to pass the class and makes sure you understand the material-lectures are recorded for access-the online book and quiz format are hard to learn and picky-I highly recommend this professor
No outside materials (inc. book) required. Online attendance not required (but classes are excellent). Lots of extra credit offered. Lots of HW, it's not graded but required to take exams. 3 exams and final, 15 quizzes. Very clear layout, she is very organized! Tutoring offered as well. A lot of HW, but there is help if you need it. Great teacher!
I took her M01 class and was worried I wouldn't pass it after not doing math for 20 years. Mrs. Reed is very thorough and teaches algebra wonderfully. She really cares about her students and gives you catching tips to remember certain things when solving an equation. I'm so glad I chose her as my professor.
Prof Reed is so nice! just started the semester but I can tell she cares a lot. We are using an online program which I think is great. you can do quizzes until you get 100% and homework is only there to "unlock" quiz. pretty ok program to use, easy to navigate. live lectures are great and she offers 2 a week and also posts them after.
She is the sweetest! She doesn't grade homework but you must get an 80% or higher to unlock the quizzes. You have unlimited amount of time on the quizzes and you will receive the highest score. She is very understanding if you need extensions on anything. Exams are timed and you only get one chance to take them. Overall 10/10!
She's so sweet! There were optional zooms and the recordings were later posted online. She goes at a nice pace and will answer questions during or outside of class time. The work is straightforward and the program she used is easy and helpful. She offered extra credit and quiz retakes. It was easy to tell she really cares about her students!
Professor Reed is the kindest understanding person, she lets you turn in late work or redo hw and quizzes for a better grade. She has well thought out lectures that make math seem simple. Although I got a C I was really expecting an F when I signed up because math isn't my best subject. Overall she's amazing and you should take her class!!!!!
Honestly one of the best math teachers I've ever had. I'm terrible at math but understand her so well, she's very caring and will help you any time needed. I highly recommend her if you really want to understand math better. LOTS OF HOMEWORK! she gives extra time if needed though. one of my favorite teachers so far. Brings snacks!
Despite being horrible at math, I found Prof. Reed's class incredibly helpful and enjoyable. She's super kind, accommodating, and helpful. She always lets students ask questions to make sure they fully understand the material. She also allows you to retake past quizzes and HW via email. Just beware of the HW, because it can be upwards of 100+ ?'s
I struggled in Algebra so I was a bit worried to take Pre-Calc, however I really liked Mrs. Reed's class!! She made it so the material was easy to understand. She even will regrade exams and offers extra credit if you email her.
Took this class fully online in spring 2021. She was very nice and is willing to answer any questions from students. Her notes were formulated well and easy to follow. However, she required that we use MY MATH LAB, which imo is the worst software for doing math online. One small error in notation results in a wrong answer! Overall, still great prof
Prof Reed was a literal godsend. She cares SO much about the success of her students and will take time out of her schedule to individually help anyone who needs it. Her teaching style was perfect -- concepts I used to struggle with were a total breeze. We had 4 tests, including the final, and unlimited tries on HW/quizzes through MyMathLab ($75).
Prof. Reed is an actual saint. She is so caring for her students and really puts in the extra effort. She also rounds up your test grades and allows you to resubmit the quizzes as much as you need to before the due date. She also gives exam reviews and it's the same exact thing on the exams! She even did it for our final exam. Please take her!
Honestly, just take your class already. This is probably one of the best math teachers/ professors I've ever had. It's pretty easy work but she has great lectures and overall amazing experience.
There was a lot of work to do, but Pearson made doing the work easier for the most part. When I would email professor Reed, she would always respond quickly, and she was there when I needed her. I'm not great at Math, but this class was surprisingly fun for me, and I felt like I was able to understand things more easily. Good class, good professor.
She is an amazing teacher who offers a lot of extra credit. There are 3 exams and 1 final. She gives exam reviews that are practically the same on the actual test, even for the final (which was 23 questions)! Please take her! She is the best math prof there is on campus and definitely worth your time!
Prof. Reed is lovely. She has all kinds of note materials, gladly stops class to explain, answers any questions, gives time outside class, and genuinely wants you to pass. She also offers snacks and fosters kittens that you get to play with. My 1 warning is there's a lot of material, so there's also a LOT of homework. Bring snacks and plan to work.
Kindest math professor I've had, she genuinely cares about her students and teaches the concepts slowly to make sure everyone understands. She even pauses lecture to answer questions. Offers extra credit for attending tutoring. Great at teaching the material but the class covers way too much, its really hard. Uses My Math Lab for homework & quizzes
I think she is the best professor if you want to take preCal
Professor Reed is the best math teacher I have ever had. She is so sweet and makes math so easy to understand. I was nervous to take algebra but she made it so easy. Also she is just such a nice person who wants her students to succeed.
She was nice, but since I took it online it was a bit harder. We had to watch her videos which were confusing, because she would mess up a lot and have to start over. She said to always feel free to ask her questions. When asked her a question about hw and about how grades on exam, she told me to go get a tutor. Tests are in person. No extra credit
This professor's high ratings surprise me.Extra credit barely impacts exams, which aren't aligned with homework.Lectures are prerecorded and error-filled.The online course fee for excessive homework adds insult to injury. Sparse office hours make seeking help difficult.Unfair and challenging, especially for struggling math students. Not recommended!
She gave great lectures, weekly homework that gives you unlimited attempts + weekly online quizzes with unlimited attempts, which do not take very long. She is super caring and is always happy to answer questions. She clearly outlines what is going to be on all tests so you can be prepared. I wish I could take her for all of my future math classes.
I think Professor Reed is very polite and has fine lectures, but this course simply should not be offered/taken over 4 weeks. It WILL consume any and all spare time you have, the curriculum is too great to be covered and retained in such a short amount of time if you have any non-academic duties such as a full time job.
Prof. Reed is great - she really cares about student success. The material is challenging, but her teaching style and use of resources like Unstuck study make it manageable. Definitely take this class if you can.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER! She teaches in such a clear and easy to understand way. Easy A+. Weekly online MyMathLab homework and quizzes has unlimited attempts, and extra credit is offered by going for tutoring. She is happy to stop and explain to anyone who needs help. There are 3 exams and 1 final in the course, generous grader. Wonderful teacher
Really sweet and caring professor, offered lots of extra help after class and numerous extra credit opportunities. Uses MyLabMath for homework assignments and is always willing to help lost students.
Professor Reed is the best professor at Moorpark College. If you go to the tutoring you get 3 extra credit points per exam!
She is a kind professor, but she doesn't give extra credit so beware. Personally, I have a B average so far, but it is only because I made very silly mistakes. I am sure you will make it far in this course.
She is awesome and gives amazing lectures, and also gives extra credit. Loves to help u with anything you are confused by.
Professor Reed is an exceptional educator who goes above and beyond to ensure student success. She possesses a unique ability to not only disseminate complex material clearly but to transform the classroom into an environment where you can foster a greater passion for mathematics. Isaac invited me to Church at Lighthouse Bible Church in Simi Valley
Very good professor and really cares about her students.
Professor Reed is a great teacher and very easy grader. She is very understanding and wants her students to succeed.
Mrs Reed was incredible. Super cool, super personable, super sweet. She truly cares about you and how you do in her class. She offers many extra credit opportunities and is very understanding. Would definitely recommend her.
