Lots to memorize, but yea its a Bio course. Very Up beat wont have trouble staying awake. Very upfront about what is expected of you. Took charge of the class even though full of about 200 students. Really liked the class though I only got a B

Best professor I've had so far. She makes everything very easy to understand, and does not go on until everyone understands the concepts. Not an easy class, but if you work hard you will do fine. Study hard for the tests (which are pretty hard) and you will do fine. SURMACZ RULES!!!!!!

Def. a hard class, if youre not interested in biology. but if you study long enough and hard enough you can def. get a good grade. she concentrates more on the concept than remembering facts. will help you no matter what the time. i called her at 1am, and she answered my question for the exam.

Anatomy II is deffinitely harder than Anatomy I but Dr. Surmacz does a wonderful job of covering the material and making sure everyone understands it. Makes herself available for questions during office hours and any time during the day. Deffinitely one of the best professors here at Bloomsburg.

I took this class about 4 years ago and now I am in graduate school, and I still use the nice picture that she made us create regarding catabolism etc. She is an excellent teacher and mentor. If it wasn't for her along with a few select others I wouldn't be where I am today!

She is one of the best teachers. She can make make Cell Resperation a fun and intresting topic. Her tests ar hard but you remember all of her corny jokes and visual aids. I highly recommend her. Also if you ever need help she is always there, and always tries her hardest to clarify anything. She truly cares about her students.

If only all professors were as good of a teacher as her. Truely a fantastic teacher.

Absoutely amazing professor. There's a reason why she doesn't have 1 bad rating or even a medium rating. She is so clear with the information she teaches. Tests can be tricky, but if you study and review the notes.. you'll be fine. Take her for any class!!!!!

surmacz is AWESOME...if you have a choice, TAKE HER! i had her for bio I. she's a very good teacher, she's SUPER helpful and will bend backwards to meet with you if you ask her to. she's so sweet and very good w/ big lecture halls. she can get every single person involved somehow. i have never fallen asleep in her class...i wouldn't want to!

She is a very nice teacher and will always help you when you need it, but her tests are very hard so study...study...study! You really do not need to buy the text book because I spent over 100 dollars on it and didnt open it once.

If you have a choice you want to take A&P with Dr. Surmaz. This is a really hard class, but she teaches it well. She wants you to learn and she seems to really enjoy teaching. She goes the extra mile with notes, demos, and props to help you understand. She is very helpful after class if you need extra help. You won't find a better prof. 5 stars

Having her for A&P1 and A&P2 she was extremely helpful! Even though the class was difficult, including the tests, she made the class fun and easy to learn new concepts. She was ALWAYS available and was willing to help! She takes attendence randomly and puts it towards your grade so you need to go. Make sure you take it with her and no one else!

Surmacz, real good BIO teacher. FROM THE GET GO, dont slack off, it's not hard to fall behind in her class. Review her lecture guide, take good notes. she clarifies something you may not get in that lesson. Before a test, skim thru book read lecture! and practice test, you'll be ready.

Teaching comes so naturally to this woman. She is good at explaining things so do not hesitate to ask questions. Study hard and study plenty and you will do fine. NOTE: Memorizing things will get you nowhere, her tests are comprehensive not spitting stuff back out. She's always in a good mood. Don't cheat cuz then her fangs come out!!

Prof. Surmacz is passionate and entertaining. She thoroughly explains the material to the extent required for this introductory class. Attendance is required for class and labs as there are pop quizzes in class and penalties for missing labs. Tests are comprised of difficult multiple choice questions.

She's far from a push over, EXTREMELY knowledgable, gives wonderful demos that help you remember material & goes above and beyond to explain things during office hours. She never once belittled my questions. Take her if you want to learn a lot but be prepared to work.

First-time students beware: Do not take A&P in the summer! Too fast to absorb and retain to be used as a real career foundation.

Honestly, probably the greatest teacher I ever had at Bloom. Her tests are hard but she is one of those teachers that challenges you to your potential. Amazing professor. Anatomy and Physiology is a difficult subject regardless of your professor, but Dr. Surmacz makes things quite clear and is willing to run around the room (literally) in order to make a concept stick. Her exams are REALLY tough. You really have to bust your ass to get an A in that class. I busted my ass and got a B. She is always available to help you though. Show her that you're working hard and she'll bump up your grade without you even asking. She's also really funny.

Dr. Surmacz was my favorite teacher last semester. The class was a lot of information and required a lot of studying. Most people did not realize this which is why a lot did so poorly on tests. You do not need the book for concepts 1 class! As long as you know the lecture guide like the back of your hand you will do fine! GO NAD!

This class is HARD. Theres so much material its ridiculous. She's an awesome person, very nice and really good teacher! but the tests are so hard. there are nongraded clicker questions everyday but they are just for participation. She is one of my favorite prof at Bloom; she is always willing to help. I love that she basically takes notes with you and she writes in different color markers so I recommend getting different colors pens. It is a tough class but as long as you pay attention in class and actually study for the exam at least 1 week before you should be fine.

With that said, she makes her exams much harder than they need to be on purpose, and makes you work for your grade. Very likeable and knows everything, except when she screws you on the exams.

Dr. Surmacz is very knowledgeable and passionate about Biology and gets excited and involves students in learning. Only set back to the class is she seems not to like to waste time with questions. The lecture before final she crammed a whole chapter into 5 minutes just to get it in for the final. Exams get progressively get harder.

Great professor! BUT beware of exams. Study at LEAST a week before the exam. Exams are hard but it is possible. Took this class with stats and passed with a B! She likes to trick you so she can tell if you know your stuff on the exams. Mix and match things a lot. 4 exams plus a final. Homework, lab reports, and clickers don't help boost ya grade.

Surmacz is an AMAZING teacher, she is so funny and makes class really interesting. I would totally take this class again I am going to miss her next semester. Make sure you go to class because if you don't you'll miss like 20 pages of notes. Make sure you study AT LEAST a week in advance or you won't do well on the tests.

She's so much fun and so helpful. Really learned a lot, I had her for both Anatomy 1 and Biology. Be sure to study in advance for exams though, and complete all mastering assingments because they really help you in the long run. Had to retake the class because I didn't put in the time to study, but retook it and got an A. She gives pink page study guides for each chapters which are vital to to well on exams. As long as you start the semester on a good foot then you should end on a good foot. P.S she does not offer extra credit so always do your best.

All of the exams are based off of the notes taken in class (she gives us a book that's outlined, so it's hard not to have good notes). Clickers are used to grade attendance everyday.

I took this class with Chem115 which is extremely challenging but i received an A in her class. make sure you study, study, study.

I personally didn't get a textbook but I really wish that I had. She is a very fun prof but her tests are really tricky. I would definitely recommend filling out the pink pages in the lecture guide and reading all multiple choice questions VERY carefully. All tests are Scantrons so if you like multiple choice, this is the class for you. Overall fun

This class is extremely hard for a 100 level course. The textbook is not necessary to buy. Only take this class if you have to.

Dr. Surmacz is adorable, funny and she knows anatomy so well. She's very clear on what she wants and she's always willing to help you out and wants to get to know you. I had trouble with exams but as long as you work hard, you'll be fine. You'll get the grade you deserve.

Dr. Surmacz is great. Although I did not get the grade I wanted in her class it was my own fault. A+P is learning a lot of material so if you procrastinate studying you won't do well. Dr. Surmacz is an amazing professor. Classes are interesting however exams are very challenging. You must put a lot of time into this class. If you are having trouble she is always willing to help but sometimes explanations aren't 100% clear.

I LOVE DR SURMACZ SO MUCH! She is literally the most amazing professor here! A&P is a rough class and the tests are pretty difficult, but she teaches really well and fully prepares you. Definitely go to the review sessions before the tests, and go to her if you ever have questions! If you put in the work, and study hard, you'll do well!

She has very good lectures. Bring colored pens because that is how she takes her notes and it is easier to learn the material. Exams are hard but doable as long as you study in advance. Try to attend review sessions if you can. Check over the pink review pages in her lecture guide before an exam to make sure you're familiar with everything.

Surmacz is amazing, but her class is difficult. The practice quizzes made by her are useful since 1-2 questions out of the 50 are used on the real test. Which is nice to see something you notice. Make sure you fully understand the material before going into an exam. Other then difficult exams, she's hilarious and makes class fun!

She is an amazing teacher. I love sitting in her lectures. She makes learn enjoyable and fun. Dr. Surmacz is like my college mother. You don't need to buy the textbook at all. It comes with mastering biology. Exams are more specific and applying the information that you learned. This is my favorite class to go to.

Going to lecture is really important because she explains everything really well. She uses a lot of practical application in her exams, but the homework really helps you prepare for this.

I really do love Dr. Surmacz, but the difficult thing about her class is that exams are weighted so heavy in comparison to the Mastering assignments and attendance. If you aren't a good test taker, this class is going to be rather tough.

Great professor! Very enthusiastic about course material and tries to make the lecture fun. Lecture always seemed like it flew by, but test's were difficult and a lot of studying needs to be put in to receive a good grade!

Dr. Surmacz is caring and tries to make lectures fun! This is a very difficult class, but not impossible! Lectures are very important and her tests are hard! Her tests are also worth a big percentage of your grade so I would start studying at least a week in advance!!

Dr. Surmacz is such a wonderful Professor. She makes lectures fun and interesting, and she never turns down a question. The class is challenging. It is time consuming, but if youre willing to put in the effort, great outcomes will follow. Highly recommend!

Dr. Surmacz is one of the best professors I have had on campus. She is very enthusiastic and will do weird things to help you remember the material which I loved. It is a difficult class and lectures are very important and she also writes everything down and doesnt go too fast.

She is honestly one of the best professors I have taken here at bloom. She explains everything very well, uses many analogies, and makes lectures fun. For all the people saying her exams are hard, I havent found them very difficult.. I got Bs on the exams. The textbook is never used. I would definitely take her again.

Dr surmacz is one of the nicest people Ive ever met. She is such a kind lady and makes classes so much fun. She cracks jokes and connects with students even though there are so many in her lectures... definitely worth taking if you have the opportunity to !

Hands down one of the best teachers I have ever had. She wants her students to succeed and you dont feel like you are being set up to fail. She is passionate about what she teaches and you can tell. Lectures are great and makes learning material much easier. Not an easy class but definitely a class worth taking!!!

Great professor. You have to go to lecture every week and use your clicker for attendance. Exams are lecture heavy, nothing outside the lecture guide. Very helpful in office hours.

Her class is difficult because it is a lot of memorization, but if put in the work, you should be able to earn an A. Love her!!

Dr. Surmacz couldn't be a better professor for Anatomy. She always kept lectures interesting and truly is passionate about her student's success. Both classes are very hard, but Surmacz has so many resources to help you learn the material. I would take a class with Dr. Surmacz again in a heartbeat.

Theres a reason shes one of the best bio professors at bloom and the other professors know it too. She loves what she does & its obvious. She is really good at explaining topics and her enthusiasm about it is practically contagious. I dont think Ive ever seen her upset. I would take her again in a heartbeat. 10/10 recommend.

Dr. Surmacz teaches a tough class, but is very resourceful and always there to help. She gives 110% for her students, and you need to give that back in her class to succeed. Very knowledgeable professor and loves her job. Her lectures will always capture your attention. She is a gem, and a flex to Bloomsburg University.

Dr. Surmacz is like the grandmother you always wanted. She's incredibly kind, caring, and quirky and has a genuine love for teaching (which reallllllly shows in her lectures). Her exams are straightforward and cover all of the info from her lectures/the lecture guide. It will be a very sad day when she retires & Bloom will be a less cheerful place.

Dr Surmacz is my favorite lady. I had her for bio 1 in the fall of 19 and still go to her for advice. She is caring and helpful. You can tell she is just a gem of a lady. Her lectures are lively and she is always making jokes. Honestly my favorite professor I have had yet! Take her if you can !

Dr. Surmacz is the sweetest lady. Show up to her class though. Study all her content. You will not do well if you don't work in this class. Her exams are difficult and make you think, which is why you HAVE to study. If you're struggling, she is always willing to help you. She wants you to succeed! My piece of advice - don't slack off. Dr. Surmacz is literally the sweetest lady. She is always willing to help her students no matter what and 100% wants what is best for them. She loves her students and is a great support system if you ever need help in school or just life in general. As long as you put in the work, her class really is not challenging. Definitely take her classes!!!!

Dr. Surmacz is a great professor. She made the material really easy to understand. I just read over the test material a day or two before the exam and I ended up doing really well on them. A lot of memorization but it is not that bad.

As a Person Dr Surmacz is amazing. She really cares and if you need help she is there. She helped me pass the class and i am excited for Anatomy Physiol 2

Dr. Surmacz is easily the best professor at BU. She gives fantastic lectures and notes to ensure you have everything you need to succeed. She answers any and everyone's questions need-be. Weekly homework assignments that are nowhere near difficult. A shame she retires after this semester, but grateful I got to experience her as my professor.
