Honestly, If u do your homework and redo the problems before each test, you will do great. I had to work around his accent.Very Laid back; tests arent bad;hard to find a good physics prof these days. I hear he gave a gracious curve @ the end. But ull still have to learn on ur own.Good luck!
outstanding teacher
This young Professor is one of the smartest I have ever met. He is excellent and very intellegent. His method of teaching is extremely very good.
Professor is smart and fair. Tests reviews are very helpful. Calculus based physics lacked the Calculus component. Book is not very good. Be ready to work several problems in each class.
Very smart and nice. knows the stuff
Very easy teacher. He will do his best to make sure you get the grade you want. Do your homework and the review sheets and you will be fine. Good luck.
Pay clase attention in class and always study the materials he gives and you will be fine. Although some ascent but he is really good.
He has strong accent. Its very hard to go along w/ his lecture. He goes really fast n if you didnt read book b4 the class, you sure will be lost. very helpful but He doesnt know how to teach n explain the problems. I reget that I took his class based on what others said.
Great Prof. He is very helpful, works out alot of problems in class. Tries his best to pass the message across but Physics is a though one. I really admire him and his method of instruction. I advice people to take his class and never to worry about exams.
This is the best professor for physic at HCC. He's a cool guy. Just do your homework, pass the exams and you'll be fine. Niaja 4 life.
good teacher, fairly grading and you can drop your lowest grade. I took phys2325 2326 with him, but you still have to study by yourself. I highly recommemd him.
I recommend him to any one. I like his style of teaching. Relaxed atmosphere with good smiles. He help students build confidence in themselfs
He is good. I am highly satisfied with his class. I will take him again and again. He made the class to be fun. I highly recommend him.
He is good. You have to pay close attention to him and follow his class. He worked out a lot of problems in class and he made up work out problems in class. I like his style of teaching. I made an A in his class. I recommend him
I am currently taking University Physics with him. He is nice and the class is always calm. I luv his dressing code. Exam 2 was easy. Will recommend him to anyone.
He is nice and always helpful
this is my 2nd class with him. LOVE his classes. INTELLIGENT!! Totally hot. Down to earth, very interesting lectures. Dont need your textbook. Exams are kinda difficult but offers bonus points. NOT immature, NOT mean and I doubt he cares about all the chicks that crush on him, which is a lot btw. Awesome personality.. cynical realist.
He is fine...friendly and warm.Sometimes,he goes through subjects a little bit fast but i like his class.
I didn't take him but my friends did and I looked over his stuff while shopping around for a professor. Easier than a university course, but doesn't hand out A's. Gives reviews that are exactly like the test so if your willing to study, this class should be no problem. Its more at the college physics level than university. He curves about 10 points
I TOOK THIS CLASS ON SUMMER .. THIS TEACHER IS SO GOOD .. HIS EXAMS R EAZY .. EXAMS R LIKE EXAM REVIEWS .. TAKE HIM , IF U WANNA GET A OR B .. I HAVE THE TEXTBOOK WITH ME , IF SOMEONE NEEDS IT .. LET ME KNOW ..THANKX
Very straight forward. One must have the material well read in order to follow along with the lectures. With that said, he's great! Master his lecture notes, master his test reviews, and you will be golden. He made himself available for questions, and expressed interest in my understanding. All-in-all, I found that I learned quite a bit.
Best in HCC, Will always recommend him. Took his class during the summer, I learnt alot. He curves, exams are like review. He is an excellent teacher.
I think this guy is a wonderful teacher, he keeps it real. We need more teachers like this who make learning creative and fun. Made an A in his class. Master his reviews.
Very nice professor, knows his material. Approchable, and helpful. It's unfortunate how we students don't want to study and expect to get an "A". Anyways, will take his class any day....RECOMMEND
i too thought he was rating himself, but i took the class anyway and he rocks!!! take him, take him!!!! he is a great teacher and he's tests are just like the reviews!!! if u're premed and u need to get those "A"s.. take him!!!!! u'll learn a lot.
This professor knows his material. Dr. anoka is a bit fast. His notes are on powerpoints. Go to his website and get the information. He curves on grades and works with the students. Just pay attention in class and study his reviews and you will make an "A" I recommend him to students
This professor knows his material. Dr. anoka is a bit fast. His notes are on powerpoints. Go to his website and get the information. He curves on grades and works with the students. Just pay attention in class and study his reviews and you will make an "A" I recommend him to students
took during summer. I had to do a lot of driving but worth it! in class problems are harder than test problems& the review is fairly similar to the test. the final was kinda tricky though. covered ch 1-16, labs were pretty easy but he got vry annoyd of everyne frm lab. overall nice guy, good teacher! TAKE HIM! not an easy A, but u can get w/effort
Dr. Anoka is a good professor. He knows his material. He goes a bit too fast. Just pay attention in class . His notes are online on powerpoint. His tests are his reviews. Just study the reviews and you will make an "A"
Good professor although you will not be able to get a hold of him if you need help outside of the classroom. He teaches with powerpoint slides and in class problems from the book. He also has reviews online. If you study them, you should be fine.
A true HCCS treasure. His smile is most reassuring. Study the reviews you will do really well. Curves a whole lot and is ever ready to be of help. Curves a lot. Highly recommended.
I think he is easy, made 100% on all the class exams. You don't need to get all the questions right to make a 100. I will take him again. Worked problems in class.
Dr. Anoka is a good professor. He knows his material. He goes a bit too fast. Just pay attention in class. His notes are online on PowerPoint. Gives review before exams. Just study his reviews because 80% of the review is word-for-word in the Exams. Easy A just study the reviews and you will fine.
Dr Anoka is a really good instructor even though he goes a little fast,he takes his time to go through the review questions with students.Just try and listen when he is going through the review questions and study the review you will be fine.Take this guy,you won't regret it.
Hands down, my favorite professor so far. Not an easy class, but he's very willing to help anyone who has trouble. He does have a strong accent that takes a little getting used to...but that's a good incentive to listen closely. I'll definitely take him again for Physics 2.
EXTREMELY HELPFUL!!!!Will work with student to help them pass class. Very straighforward!!! ALL IN All A COOL PROFESSOR. Report this rating
Very good at showing you how to solve problems. Spends alot of time working methodically through each problem. Tests are very similiar to review. Physics is not easy but he is good at working out problems which is very important.
Great teacher, young professor, knows his material, study powerpoint, pay attention to his comments in class, got an easy A in his class. Always willing to help
Spends alot of time working about problems on the board, very detailed and methodical. Very helpful in solving problems. Tests are similiar to review.
class is relaxing, can be hard sometimes, exam is sometimes hard. i liked his style.
Physics may be the most difficult subject for first-timers. Dr. Anoka tried his best to teach the fundamental of physics, but it still difficult to grasp his teaching materials. The biggest downfall is the textbook that we used during the lectures which lacks comprehension and conceptual parts. All homework problems are textbook-based.
Physics is Hard. He is a good professor. It is great to take him for physics, but still, Physics is hard. The professor is very easy going.
The best Physics teacher! come to class, study his reviews and you'll be an A+ Physics student!!
Good professor, his tests are like the reviews but more practice is required besides them. Attend every class, you wouldn't want to miss a thing. Can get long and boring by mid semester. Overall this class was better than expected and made me like physics even more.
Ok, just took the finals. MC & FR Tests (study reviews, HW and In Class problems), no curves (2 extra points given to each FR question). I think he hated me because i ask tones of questions but what he failed to realize was that i do full time work/school and have little to no time outside class to try to understand. He is still by far the best
when you have teachers like M. Tafa K you can just say Dr Anoka is the best teacher of Physic at HCC. Tests are like review. try to follow him and you will do good. extra credit(110/100). 34 multiple choice(68) and 6 problem (42)
Very straight forward professor, has yet to be stumped by any problem. You need to ask him a question if you require help though. The "review for final" is your HW.
I took this professor for PHYS 2 Lab. Grade is consist of attendance, lab reports and participation.
The instructor expect that the student understand all the material in advance. He doesn't do a lot of effort explaining anything. He reads through his power points then suddenly ask for volunteers to solve problem without explaining any examples. To sum up, I don't recommend this instructor if you are taking physics for the first time.
Professor Anoka is better than most physics professors. However, on an objective level, he's not the worlds greatest teacher.
Tests are from class lectures and homework problems, easy professor
Tests are really easy, just solve the stuff you did in class. Not a good teacher, but his lenient grading, bonus points and easy tests make up for it
If You solve the class work problem. You will gat an A. Take him you will not regret
comes into class without a plan and unprepared, not helpful when students need assist because he doesn't know what lab they're supposed to be doing, browses auto trader for toyota 4runners instead of conducting lab, makes everyone stay until class is finished when some labs take about only 15 min, requests long reports but he doesn't even read them
Very good lecturer
Terrible Professor , Ignore the good reviews. Unorganized , doesn't explain well. Test reviews are complete waste of time. Super lazy in the class but hyperactive during exam. no extra credits. Your only chance to make it through the class is Exam. Lots of homework and class problem . I am a straight A student but struggling really bad with him.
Worst teacher , stay away!!!
Ok, where to start? disorganized class ,he changed our class 3 times , he never trust you during exams and will watch you so serious, his handwriting is awful, none of the problems solved completely.
should stay 3 hours ,even you have finished the experiment which only take 1 hour to finish.
Take this professor if you want to learn nothing
he is the best i love him great teaching sir well respect omo fresh
Stay away from this teacher, he shouldn't be a physics teacher, he does not know how to push students and help them be successful. Worst teacher ever.
Professor Anoka is not a bad professor by any means, however I would not consider him to be "good" either. He goes through a lot of problems in class which is a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. Tests are pretty straight forward for the most part, Final was the easiest. If you study you can make a B.
I took Dr Anoka for both University Phys 1 and 2 and received As in both classes. He is certainly not an easy A but if you come to class every time, study the content you will do fine. His first test average was a 50 and he agreed to replace the first exam score with the Final exam which shows you that he knows when he makes an exam too hard.
This is why you take Physics II at community college and not university. I don't know why others complain about him. All you have to do is memorize his classwork and homework problems and you got an A. Simple as that! He knows everyone, so show up to class!
He is a lazy professor! this class in only self study:(
He made you to hate physics for whole your life!!! stay away and do not join his class.
I took his physics 2325. I always read material in advance to understand what he is teaching in class. Face it! Physics is hard to understand, especially college level. 3 tests were easy if you do homework. Final was easy if you do the review. His tests were exactly in his homework. Going to take his Physic 2 and labs. Can't wait to see him again.
The worst ever. Don't bother. Never missed a class and didn't learn a thing about physics.
He is the best teacher I had in Hcc. He is well educated and he helps his students to learn.
His is an amazing professor, but you have to work hard in his class and you will do well, study his reviews for exam , you will do well.
So ok, he watches soccer during lab time. He rarely helps students, especially some lab problems, or finding missing parts for the labs. Some of problems he cannot even fix. He gives you like 4 experiments in 3 hours, which reports due next week. Never miss the class, and "follow the instructions" so you will be find.
He read off of the powerpoint and explained some things during the lecture then gave us some problems from the end of the chapter in the textbook . You can ignore the lecture but you should do the specific problems he gives out because those are the same ones that will be on the exams. He's kind of lazy but that can work toward your advantage.
He's lazy. Whenever we ask him for help he just replies with "read the instructions" and sometimes wouldn't even stay in class. However this class is an easy A because a big chunk of your grade is attendance and he rarely even read the lab report. So go to class everyday and make your reports look presentable even if it doesn't make any sense.
He's not a great professor by any means but as far as physics professors go he's pretty good. Has a moderate Nigerian accent. Homework and tests come from textbook problems and typically overlap so it's all pretty easy stuff. If you're not very good at physics you can plug and chug through tests. Just show up and do homework and you can get an A.
He just cares about few students. He is also lazy. questions for tests are same as homework but you should study by yourself.
The fact that HCC employs this guy shows that they have no interest for student learning. I had to teach myself everything. lazy professor, super active on exams!
he is great
He is great. You just have to participate and do not skip any class. You will get an A. Final exam is pretty fair.
Frmr tchr: While knowledgeable in physics content is not suitable 4 teaching Unprepared, condescending when answering questions, doesn't answer clarifying Qs. Doesn't give HW back, so I don't know how he grades. I'm basically teaching myself, which is fine, except attendance is required & I could be using that time to actually learn
extremely condescending.
Take this class if you want a guarantee pass. There's little to no way you can fail. For the lecture there are three tests (with bonus questions) and a final with lots of hw. I think he gets final grade by averaging all the tests and doesn't grade hw. You can stay after class and he will answer your questions. Tests are composed of hw questions.
Terrible! I had to drop it. He just quickly reads his confusing PowerPoint and tells you which book problems to do, you do those problems in class with your partner and yall teach each other, students are the ones writing answers and half worked problems on the board, he does NOTHING! And that is basically the entirety of the class. Run!
Professor Anoka can be difficult to understand at times, but he knows his stuff very well. The course isn't easy, so you have to put time and work into understanding the material. Overall, Anoka is pretty laid back when it comes to the lectures, and the tests are very similar to questions from homework and class.
Doesn't give enough time for his exams. I'm so angry because I read so hard only to not be allowed to complete the final exam due to insufficient time. I regret taking his class. My advice for everyone else is to look for a different Professor.
Exams are pretty much all the same questions from class and from homework, lectures are very unimportant because he just reads off of a powerpoint that is straight from the book. Overall just review practice and homework problems and you will do fine.
I really enjoyed his class, He was very reasonable in his grading, a lot of extra credit both in exams and in class. I will take him again and again
As usual, most people on here exaggerate everything. He's really not a bad guy (yes, at times a BIT condescending) and granted he's exams are pretty easy so might not learn a whole lot at the end of the day.
After enrolling into my Physics 2 class with the professor I wanted, at the last minute they decide to change it and assigned this professor to teach; if you can call it "TEACH". Don't take this professor, his accent is so thick, he just reads off his power point slides which don't make any sense, and goes at a really fast speed. RUN! WORST EVER!!!
The last of his worries is you understanding his subject. Will finish a whole chapter and solve 20 questions on it in a matter of 40 minutes then assign a 25 question homework, which the exam will consist of, on it
He is the worst professor! Please do not take his class. He did not go easy with us during the pandemic. He is not understandable, very cold person. Imagine taking his class and the pandemic was not happening, he does not help you at all. You have to teach yourself! literally RUN!
Do NOT take his class. He would go over the chapters really fast!!!
This is the worst professor I have ever taken. I thought the bad reviews on here were exaggerating and decided to take him. BIG mistake. In order to pass this class you must teach yourself, he is no help, even when you ask him a question.
Very rude to students and doesn't explain things well. I used Chegg to study and barely passed the class. The labs were a nightmare as the instructions were vague and pieces were often missing. I learned absolutely nothing in this class.
Dr. Anoka explains in detail what needs to be done in each laboratory and gives a bit of theory as well. Attendance counts for your grade but you should definitely attend his lectures to know what to do and how to do it. Follow the instructions, make sure you do the right calculations and you will pass with a good grade.
Anoka's class is manageable, but he's not the best professor. He often responds sarcastically in class to students. It's definitely possible to pass the class w/o his guidance. However, it's obv more preferable to have a prof that can help you understand everything, rather than winging it all the time. Relying on those lab manuals is not efficient.
The worst professor ever. Dr. Anoka gave some wrong formulas in the PowerPoint but did not specify which chapter or part is it. He is also rude, I missed an exam and explained to him the reason, but I didn't receive any response from then on. His lessons are too heavy and the quizzes he gave are too hard.
This professor overall is HORRIBLE, PowerPoints have nothing to do with exams or quizzes. Nothing correlates with each other. I feel like wrong formulas were given. This class was literally "teach yourself" kinda class. oh and the worst part is HE NEVER ANSWERS EMAILS. Like how can I communicate with my professor if you never answer! The WORST!!
For elementary, this course is awful. "Read it, teach it, learn it yourself" class. The PPT "lecture notes" did not help with quizzes or exams. The PPT range from 45-108 slides verbatim to the text book. I took every quiz and got good grades but it did not help my poor exam grades. Does not respond to emails in a timely manner or answer questions.
My grade went from an A+ to C-. He does not answer emails. No extra credit or bonus points. His videos are old recordings from 2020. I had to teach myself.
Easy A for me. Exam questions are very reasonable. Homework Quiz at the end of each chapter. Dropped lowest homework and exam at the end of the semester. I would take him anytime.
He's the best teacher. He doesn't give much homework. But you have to respect the deadlines. Basically, he's great.
